Plots that won't delete

Warning, before requesting that an admin do a data clean up on you must move all trees and or flowers which are layered over plots. We have determined that if these are left in place you risk losing some or all of these trees and or flowers as part of the process.

***When data is cleared, it clears ALL farms, so all layering must be removed.****

If you have plots that refuse to delete try these instructions. The important part seems to be the saving and the leaving of your farm in order to get the servers to catch up.

Avoid using the bulldozer. Instead, click the Green Man, click the field, and select Delete from the menu.
1) Click on crop and choose delete (lower level players will see a confirmation box asking if you want to delete this field, choose yes).
2) Save any outstanding changes (If any)
3) Leave farm by clicking the play button or going to the market
4) Return to farm and repeat step one as the confirmation will be back.
5) Keep repeating until crops are gone

If the above does not work you may have corrupted data on your farm. It has been determined by the developers that the inability to delete plots or even trees on your farms is a direct result of layering/stacking fields or layering trees over top of fields. This causes a corruption of data on the farm which will then make it impossible to delete those fields for which the data has been corrupted.

The admin moderators do have access to a tool which will help most farmers. However, in order for this tool to work you must undo all of your layering, whether it be crops over crops or trees over crops. It is imperative that you move all trees and flowers off of plots. We have determined if you do not do this first you risk losing trees and or flowers as part of the data clean up.

In order to access your farm to use this tool we must have your Facebook ID. There is no other way to access your farm. Please click HERE (http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=395854) for directions to provide us with that information.

You will be told when your farm has been checked and the data cleaned up on your farm. Please report back to let us know if it worked.

Some farms are so far gone that the developers will have to sort it out for you. After you have undone all of the layering and had the data cleaned, if you still have plots that will not delete, contact me via private message for further instructions on providing information the developers will need.

I think I spoke too soon. While it did work right after you fixed it, it's now back to not working again. In fact, the whole upper right quadrant of my 7th farms is wonky. I have troubles harvesting my forget-me-knots when they are ready (they're not quite ready yet) and when I try to roll over them with my mouse, it doesn't tell me they are forget me knots. Oh, and I have a question, i have waterfalls, and a couple of buildings that are put together. Also flowers in the water. Do I need to move those things? The waterfalls would take so long to dismantle, but i only have a couple of buildings that are attached. And I am not attached to the flowers in the water if i need to delete them.

Make sure you have read the first post completely. We won't clear data until ALL layering is removed. You've still got flowers, trees, and facilities all layered on crops. Most likely these will disappear when your data is cleared.

Hello there,

Data cleanup does all farms at once. You will need to get rid of all the layered/stacked crops on all of your farms. Continuing with it will only lead to further data corruption which could be permanent.

The plots are caused by corruption due to the layering. Farms were not meant to be heavily loaded with layers/stacks of things and causes corruptions, which are the plots.

Hi there, have you read the first post? All layering needs to be removed because when we clear data, items can go missing. On farms 3 and 4 you have trees on top of flowers which will most likely disappear when clearing data.

Hi there, right now it would be counterproductive if we cleared your data as you still have stacking/layering on several of your farms.

Once you've removed stacking/layering, then we'll gladly clear your data :)

Nope can't delete your plots for you, only you can :) I just clear the data which allows you to get rid of the corrupted plots.

It just shows up as the base layer for the farm. I can plow and plant all around it. I would appreciate help recovering the area for use. It sounds to me like you just need to clear your cache and macromedia files... red link below has instructions on how to do that

Yes, I am referring to the small brown patch on the second farm. I feel like a complete idiot now. :p Since it was the same color and type as the base land for the farm, I wasn't cluing in on the fact that it's a separate path. They're deleted now. THANK YOU!!! I really hate senior blonde moments.

The fields all had the filling bar across them when I realised that I should not have done that (plowed), so I deleted all the fields.
This did not help the problem as now when I replace the fields and plow them, they won't stay plowed. Making another tab just shows the fields harvested but not plowed.
My fault , I know, but can this be fixed please?

Have you been layering at all, because your farm data has been cleaned 6 times already. If you are layering i would advise you to stop, as that is the cause of the undeletable plots.

ok, your farmdata has been cleaned, you should be able to delete those plots. After you delete them, i'd advise clearing your cache & macromedia files, then close your browser and reload, double check that all the plots really have gone before putting anything back n the farms.

I've done that for the last 2 years, and never had a problem... it's very unlikely that would cause it

Most likely, it's more to do with an after effect of layering, even weeks/months after layering problems can arise from the layering, even if you no longer do it.

Thats called stacking, it can happen accidently too. But layering or Stacking is not considered cheating, It's just not advised to do it cos of the damage it can do to farms. best thing for you to do is delete all those plots and plow fresh new ones.

I am not stacking I am plowing like I normally would. However it happen in the same spot every time no matter what. I heard the concept of stacking but never tried it.

I am not stacking I am plowing like I normally would. However it happen in the same spot every time no matter what. I heard the concept of stacking but never tried it.
Delete all the plots in that area, close the farm and clear your cache and macromedia, then reopen and see if there are any more plots. If there are then delete those. and repeat again (without the clearing of cache, etc.). May take 2 or 3 times. If they are still there after that, then post in the plots that won't delete to get one of the administrators to clear your farm data.

One of my farms (#4) has some corrupted fields. Deleting them and starting over doesn't help. The plots will be highlighted after I click to plow, sow, or harvest, but the avatar skips those fields, and I have to refresh, and do them all over. Any advice on how to solve this?

The moderators can do that, but it will clear all of your farms and not just that farm. You might want to read the first post of this thread and decide if you really want to do this. Your farms are heavily layered with buildings on top of flowers, trees on top of water features, and that was only 2 of your farms I looked at.

They remove cache at server and refresh it and do not delete any thing from farm, they did it same for me earlier for farm four and now i am having this issue on farm six. This is all flower farm and no trees on it, when they refresh it I will be able to put crops on them

LauraineHi, the only way I can clear your data is if you remove all the plots from around and under the buildings on all your farms.

LauraineHi, I can do it for you but clearing data works on all farm so all the buildings on all farms need to be off any plots.

looks like the kind mods did it for u i just took a look out of curiousity as dead plots were supposed to be a thing of the past and none of your farms have any plots at all.

that is strange as yes if there is corrupt data the dead plots will return after deleting but i should see them as soon as i enter your farms and none of your 6 farms had any plots of any kind

Hi there,

I see that those farms are stacked. Before any resetting can be done, that would all have to be removed.

Stacking and layering can cause damage to farms, sometimes even permanently.

When it's cleared, come back and let us know. Hope this info helps :)

You also need to clear the layering on all the rest of the farms, because they can not clean the data for just one farm. It is the whole account that gets cleaned. Any thing you have layered such as trees and buildings layered over plots can be lost when they do this.

I have been having a problem for over a week ever sense ft shut down for the fb update it started with my name and I have done everything suggested by the moderators. I have emptied all my caches, macromedia files everything I can think of even tried on 3 different computers with no sucess and it always goes back to Pat I never put that name to b used. I have also notified the developers with no sucess. Three days ago i discovered that I cannot acess my neighbors to confirm or remove some of my neighbors or ask for new neighbors all i get is a blanc page no matter how long i wait. I have cleared all my stacking and layering. onn all farms i notice some of it comes back and on one i re plowed it single and there are some stacked on it yet so now I wonder if my data is corrupted Please let me know if this will clear it up or what I need to do to clear it up. Oh yes I also lost 2 red wheat windmills.

pat i am directing your case directly to a mod to request a data clear for you be sure any layering is removed this means trees on crops or most importantly buildings/facilities on top of anything other then plain ground.

if you not worried about losing a few trees or crops thats ok bujt buildings should be on non layered ground.

One thing you need to supply for the mods is a link to your farm. The automatic linking through the button up top doesn't work so you will need to create a link manually and post it here. Instructions on how to do that are in this link if you need them.

One note is your neighbors cannot work the fish, truck, mines, bee factories and others. Any item that you have to pay coins to produce cannot be worked by them, so production from those will only show at the rate set in those facilities.

As for the facilities that can't be worked, I know that. In fact, it's my sort of test on this. I put one of those on a farm and just watched it. No matter how long it sat, nothing was produced. I know people can't work those.

This is all linked to the same problem. Check your My Neighbors page and see if your neighbors are showing zero (0) for all their values. If they are that would be why all this is happening.
First try the easy thing of clearing your cache, close your browser, and reopen to try again. If this doesn't help try going to the following link while your farm is open. This is another way to clear your data to allow it to reload new.

Hi - first you need to be on-line - the "plug" icon in the top RH corner must be green. Then you must be on their farm or they on yours and they must also be online. You can click on their neighbour box and the bottom of your farm and ask them to join you.

If you cant see them when you are there and both on-line try reloading. You could also clear your cache and your macromedia files
If you look in " Help and Support" there is a thread " cannot load game ......." with a link for that.

We can try and clear up your farm data , however you will need to remove all layered items before we can do this, as cleaning up your data can result in lost trees, building, facilities etc... if the farms are still layered.

I have deleted everything off of my farms, defaulted the ground covers back to the green. And am asking if you can please do a complete data reset on all of my farms. I am so frustrated with farmtown right now, it has me ready to quit and I have invested too much money into it to quit. Can you please help me get my farms situated. There seems to be a corruption issue spread thru all of my farms and it started when i got the bright idea to stack facs on top of each other. I thought when you did that data reset the last time it would fix it but it did not. So now I am starting completely over with nothing on any of my farms except a walnut tree on 4 that will not go away. Please help fix the problem. Thanks Rose.

We may be able to fix it by doing a data clean up. The only problem is you have a lot of trees layered over crops and doing a data clean up while you have layering on farms can result in things going missing. I have a patch on my farm 6 that can't be planted, it keeps coming back as oats gone to waste. How can I clear it so it doesn't keep doing this? I have tried deleting and replanting, but that did not work.
