We just released a new version with these new features/fixes:

More Pizzas:
Pepperoni Pizza ( get pepperoni as gift from friends )
Ham Pizza ( get ham as gift from friends )
Hawaian Pizza ( get ham as gift from friends )

Publish to wall to get these gifts is just an option, not required.

More Juices:
Tomato Juice
Cranberry Juice

New Icecream Factory (in coins)
Chocolate Ice cream
Strawberry Ice cream
Coffee Ice cream ( for now, get ground coffee as gift from friends )
Mango Ice cream
Pineapple Ice cream
Coconut Ice cream

You can now send several ingredients to your friends for them to use in their facilities, which includes eggs, milk, chocolate liquor, ham, pepperoni, sugar, flour and boxes with different fruits (already harvested).

Several items on the gift page were moved to the store.

Increased productivity of the Chocolate Liquor Facility, it produces now 40 Units per hour instead of 20.

Each Fuel tank you receive as gift now provides you with 300 Fuel units instead of 100.

When you send flowers as gifts to friends they comes now in batches of 5.

The Crops and Trees sections on the store now shows the level at which the crop or tree is unlocked.

We are now showing the Unit Price (as well as the Batch Price) for each product on the facility window to avoid some confusion.

Some users were unable to receive gifts because their gift box was full, we now added a notification message when this happens, so users can go and use or sell some gifts to free some space. The gift box can hold about 100 gifs.

i agree, the juice factory and chocolate factory are the only items i deemed worth buying with proper money even though i've been playing for over a year now, and now it seems as though we've been conned, certainly won't be using any more hard earned cash .:(

What is the big deal about the gifts? It's helping out friends who can't get the Chocolate factory.. I bought the factory because I had enough leftover cash and had been doing the "app of the day" ...

It's no biggie....Love the changes...I've almost stopped playing everything else since FT has been so great lately.

This is a sea change for the factories, and its not a positive one. let me explain:


When the factories first started up, they encouraged you to grow crops which were not the most profitable for their maturity - i.e. blueberries, onions, tomatoes. This was an excellent future indicator as it provided choices and variety- an increased depth of gameplay.

With the additions to the juice factory, the ice cream factory and the pizza factory, the emphasis is back onto producing pineapples for all three plants to make the most money...and pineapples were already the most profitable crop before the factories existed.

The temporary diverse marketplace dynamic is coming to an end, soon all the maximized farms will be just pineapples cows and the occasional sugar rotation.

Slashkey- I would love to help you with this. I have a master's in economics of competitive simulations and I would enjoy helping out for just portfolio building. I can be contacted via PM's, and I'll send in resumee material within the week as well.

Perhaps they will add a Cannery , where all crops have value, many vegetables such as canned peas, carrots, beets, corn and canned fruit, pears and peaches etc. I also think we need to be able to make jams, jellies , apple butter, but that might need to be its own facility - such as confectinaries or something. Well, they do exist, but if you're going to say cranberry juice is made from cranberries that grow on trees, no, THAT'S just not true. Cranberries for juice (and sauce) DO grow in bogs. Better add them to the seeds and let us grow the right kind (I'd love to). I'm not sticking up for this error!!!

Okay I have looked at the new stuff and I love it. Thanks for the meat I'm glad we got that. I still would like a meat processing plant for the farm but I guess the meat as gift is probably the best some wouldn't like the idea of killing the animals for meat. On the gift box I have over 100 gifts now and it is all fuel, is there a way to combine all the fuel into one gift for those of us that don't refuel that often. I have 6500 fuel now and only about 1500 fields so it will take me a while to use the fuel. Right now I can leave the fuel on FB but it is a pain to accept a ton of gifts at one time. I have also heard that they are going to change the gift receiving soon. What I'm thinking about is say you get 300 fuels for one gift well if you have one fuel gift in your gb it says fuel 300 if you have 2 it says 600 and so on, and all the fuel counts as one gift in your gift box.

In addition to the stated updates, they took away the "produce-faster" button on myspace players "whats cooking" pages.
I guess its easier to just keep slinging out new stuff than fixing whats already there. Yea they increased the speed of the choc factory but not the others.
I'm waiting 7 days to refine a farm full of sugar and all the rest take too long as well.
With the omission of the produce faster button, its safe to assume they wont be giving us that feature.

Heck, at this point, I'de be happy if they beefed up the server so we dont get booted off our jobs.

LOL I saw that after I posted. I guess since I have strawberry trees in my yard at home, a cranberry tree would not be out of the question. The thing is, if I want to make strawberry jam at home, I have to either buy the strawberries or plant the plants in my garden and wait for them to procuce; the strawberries on my strawberry trees are nice for color, but not for jam :)

The most important factor was that I didn't need to annoy my non-farm playing friends with all the junk on the wall and I didn't need to beg for help. Farm Town is a social game. I could always meet new people here, but now I just feel that the game is following in the footsteps of Zynga. I don't like the direction and I can't see myself staying in much longer. I have been playing Farm Town for years and will hurt to let it go, but I cannot morally support the constant onslaught of wall begging. Keep the game in the game and don't make me annoy my real friends.

That the creators are changing the dynamic of the game and following the blueprint created by their competitor instead of breaking new ground. I completely agree! I love FT for the social aspect... that other game I enjoy for earning the ribbons/awards.

Love the new pizza ideas. You could also do a veggie or supreme pizza incorporating the artichokes, olives, italian herbs, etc, thus using more crops.

Fuel is worth more?! Very cool! l worked for two friends today, for about two minutes, and made 33,288 coins! Wow, l really like those facilities LOL!

When l found out about the new stuff, l went to the gift page and my eyes were blown away by the PRETTY bushels of blueberries! l immediately sent them to everyone including myself at my other farms. l quickly changed accounts and went to accept them and get a good look at the pretty things! l couldn't place it on my farm! Someone went to a lot of work to make beautiful blueberries, and other items, in bushels and it can't be used for decoration. So sad. Of course l haven't looked in the decorations tab yet....opps....

That the creators are changing the dynamic of the game and following the blueprint created by their competitor instead of breaking new ground. That's right, I have 28,300 batches at 3 hours per batch. Somehow that doesn't excite me too much. I can only hope the IC Factory is better.

Edit: Oops, my math is off. It looks like that number goes down 25 per batch lol. So much for the 10 year thing. Either way, I won't have to pay attention to the juice factory for months.

I would like to send "help" requests to only my FT Neighbors to work at my flour mill (only Facility I have so far) without the FT requests for help going to FB friends who do not play FT and without being posted on my FB profile. Since most of my FB friends aren't into the games, I avoid letting games post to my profile, filling it with notices not of interest to them.
I read and followed the instructions here for sending Facilities work requests to only selected individuals (unlocked the lock button, chose customize, and entered the name of the FT player to whom I was sending the request). Nonetheless, the request appeared on my profile, from which I removed it.
I don't yet know if the request went to non-Farm Town FB friends, or if, since I removed it from my profile it went to the person addressed.

How can I send a Facilities work request and assure it will get to the person intended, but not to others and not appear in my profile?

You can harvest trees now. The thing is when the game first came out there was not the separate options for hiring when you hired someone they could harvest your trees. Well a lot of people (I was one of them) didn't want their trees harvested. They wanted the fruit left on the trees for the color. Well some people would harvest the trees no matter what the farmers wishers where and people got very angry about it. Well last fall the developers gave us the 2 different hiring options and trees where no longer a problem. I don't object to the flowers being harvested I just want the developers to either tie it into the trees where people can hire so their flowers are not harvested, or give us 3 hiring options.
The three being:



Harvest everything that is ready (crops, trees, flowers)
Harvest crops and trees (so people can get the trees harvested for the facilities but keep their flowers)
Harvest crops only.

If they do that I'm okay with the flowers being harvested, if people want to harvest them they can have them harvested, if not they can protect them.

The "official" neighbor limit for FB is 80, but I have 101 neighbors right now and have heard of people with more neighbors then that. Just keep adding them until it will not let you add more. The gift limit is set by fb there is nothing that FT can do about it.

I sort of agree, I don't think the gift catalogue should include things we can buy or make for ourselves. But I have just put a suggestion in Feedback that as an extra feature we should be able to give our friends stuff out of our own storage. By that I mean it gets deducted from our storage and goes into theirs. That way someone who bought a chocolate factory can help their friends out.

l'm not positive here, but...YOU WOULD see it on your profile. Did you ask a friend who was not on your list if they could see it as well?

ALL of the facilities result in a good profit selling produced goods rather than the raw materials. Note that the price per unit shown in storage is not the price per batch.
You need only 5 pineapple plots to sell a batch of 25 units. At 256 coins a unit, the batch sells for 6400 coins.

1 field of pineapples will make 5 units of pineapple juice. Each unit sells for 256 coins so 5 units would sell for 1280 coins. After you take 320 off or the seed and plowing cost you make 960 coins for that one field of pineapples.

I would love to have a second one, but .... lvl44 !!! This is a bit high. I've been playing for 8 months, daily player, struggling to progress with very little neighbours or help from my friends. Lvl 44 is light years away !

Can this level criteria be lowered in the future? This way progress is really slow and many of my friends quit because of that and switched to Farmville or other games.

I would love to have a second one, but .... lvl44 !!! This is a bit high. I've been playing for 8 months, daily player, struggling to progress with very little neighbours or help from my friends. Lvl 44 is light years away !

Can this level criteria be lowered in the future? This way progress is really slow and many of my friends quit because of that and switched to Farmville or other games.

The progress is actually very quick compared to how it used to be. You can go to the market and wait to be hired to plow for other farmers. You will gain experience that way.

When I started playing, that system did not exist. I think I was around 30 something when it finally came out, and then my mother started to play. She had skipped passed my level in about two weeks, what took me months of work, just by working in the market.

Well many of the things grown are totally wrong. My favorite is mushroom seeds... mushrooms are fungi that grow usually in the dark or underground. HAHA.

sometimes if you can't visibly see items on your farm you know that you have.... check to be sure that in your options under the wrench have "show buildings" checked... if that is good there empty your cache and leave farm town and return and they will be visible again....

I would like to send "help" requests to only my FT Neighbors to work at my flour mill (only Facility I have so far) without the FT requests for help going to FB friends who do not play FT and without being posted on my FB profile. Since most of my FB friends aren't into the games, I avoid letting games post to my profile, filling it with notices not of interest to them.
I read and followed the instructions here for sending Facilities work requests to only selected individuals (unlocked the lock button, chose customize, and entered the name of the FT player to whom I was sending the request). Nonetheless, the request appeared on my profile, from which I removed it.
I don't yet know if the request went to non-Farm Town FB friends, or if, since I removed it from my profile it went to the person addressed.

How can I send a Facilities work request and assure it will get to the person intended, but not to others and not appear in my profile?

You can do either.
Open the gift box and hover over the picture of the food item. Where other gifts say 'use' and 'more', these will say 'store' and 'more'. Click the store button and the item is moved to storage ready to be used. :)

Ground coffee is in the gifts. You can ask your neighbors to send it to you.

Yes, please - I'd love to be able to buy coconut trees - needed cherry trees a while back, and it was a pain begging my neighbors for them. Very few FT players really think about individual gifts since it's so much easier AND faster to select one gift for all.

I managed to "Buy" the chocolate factory with credits that I earned from playing the game. Wish I was able to use hard cash, but pension does not extend to that. I enjoy the game , gives me another faction in my old life.

They're handing out free chocolate liquor IF you can get your neighbors to gift it to you - if I hadn't bought the factory, I'd never have any chocolate liquor. Unfortunately, my neighbors - as nice as they may be - tend to pick one gift for all, despite requests for specific items. So I think we need both options.:)

You can now send several ingredients to your friends for them to use in their facilities, which includes eggs, milk, chocolate liquor, ham, pepperoni, sugar, flour and boxes with different fruits (already harvested).

Several items on the gift page were moved to the store.

Increased productivity of the Chocolate Liquor Facility, it produces now 40 Units per hour instead of 20.

Each Fuel tank you receive as gift now provides you with 300 Fuel units instead of 100.

When you send flowers as gifts to friends they comes now in batches of 5.

The Crops and Trees sections on the store now shows the level at which the crop or tree is unlocked.

We are now showing the Unit Price (as well as the Batch Price) for each product on the facility window to avoid some confusion.

Some users were unable to receive gifts because their gift box was full, we now added a notification message when this happens, so users can go and use or sell some gifts to free some space. The gift box can hold about 100 gifs.

Hi there :) What do you mean "dropping out". Are you getting coins when you work for people? Make sure that your cache is being cleared regularly and that your flashplayer is up to date.

We need a textile mill for the cotton, llama and sheep wool harvests. Incorporate the herbs, artichokes and bell peppers into the pizzas (veggie/supreme). Is there a way to make cranberries giftable? Out of 30 friends, i think only one is over level 73, and I don't think she grows cranberries.

When the factories first started up, they encouraged you to grow crops which were not the most profitable for their maturity - i.e. blueberries, onions, tomatoes. This was an excellent future indicator as it provided choices and variety- an increased depth of gameplay.

With the additions to the juice factory, the ice cream factory and the pizza factory, the emphasis is back onto producing pineapples for all three plants to make the most money...and pineapples were already the most profitable crop before the factories existed.

The temporary diverse marketplace dynamic is coming to an end, soon all the maximized farms will be just pineapples cows and the occasional sugar rotation.

palantir, i read the entire thread and didn't see anyone reply to your post. i think you make a very good point.... i stopped playing for a long time because i didn't see the point of planting anything but pineapples and sage (the most profitable 1-day crop at the time). so i was thrilled when they introduced the factories that encouraged planting varied crops. but the thing is, i suspect most people (at least the higher level-ed people) don't really care too much about "profit" anymore, and end up just planting what they like. people who are at high levels probably have millions of coins saved up with not enough things to spend it on anyway.

Pineapples where never the most profitable crop out there it was raspberries. If you just want to look at 3 day crops rosemary was more profitable then pineapples. You make 3 more coins form rosemary then you do for pineapples. Now as for the facilities yes they may make pineapples more profitable but they are not the only big money maker out there. Also I can only speak for my self but I have always planted whatever crop caught my eye when planting. Once you get several million coins, the coins don't matter that much and you plant what crops you like to plant.

I have a suggestion though...more of a wish: I think it would be helpful, when you're in a facility and choosing stuff to produce, if there could be a little number showing how many you have on hand.
Say for example I'm in the juice bar and making tomato juice, but I want to make sure I hold enough back for pizza....it'd really be helpful to make sure I don't over produce the tomato juice. Does that make sense?

I have all the facilities and I can tell you without question that pineapples are nice but they are not the key to great profits from your facilites.

In fact, if I had to chose one crop from a pure profit prospective it would be grapes. I can grow several cycles of grapes (and I do) in the time it takes to harvest one cycle of pineapples. Four cycles of grapes (16 hours) is more profitable than one cycle of pineapples (60 hours) Processing time in the juice facility isn't relevant now because of neighbors ability to speed the processing time.

Pizza and ice cream both use pineapples, and very profitably, but you are limited by other ingrediants, milk and cheese among them. I can grow all the pineapples I want but it won't do me any good if I can't come up with the other things I need. Cheese is the toughest since it can't be gifted.

Actually, the opposite of what you are suggesting has been happening. Crops that have been ignored for months now are coming back in fashion. I've seen more grapes, wheat and tomatoes growing than I have since I first started playing the game.

When you are about to post you will see a little "lock" icon next to the publish button. click on that and then "customize" and "specific people" then enter the name of your list.

When the wall post comes up for you to click on publish, there is a lock at the bottom. Click on that then click on customize, now in the top drop down box choose specific people. A box will come up for you to type in people's names, type the name of the list of friend you have made in. Now click on save (you may have to hit the tab key to be able to see save). Now click on publish and only the people on that list will see that wall post. This will have to be done every time you post for help, but you only need to post for one facility a day. One facility post gives them the right to work in all facilities on all farms.

Oh Please you get more producing them than just 50. A lot of the buildings that are Farm Cash never did anything. They are making a good game for us and actually compared to other games they don't charge much. They have to have something to keep going and giving us new stuff.

You need to first click on the harvest tool (looks like a scythe) in the lower right hand corner of your farm screen and then you can harvest trees or ripe crops.

There is a problem with receiving gifts. When a gift is sent about half of them cannot be retreived. When you click accept the gift never appears and we get directed to the farm screen. This is so maddening because I have lost so many cows and trees because of this problem. I ask in messages if others are having problems and many are. Some are getting as frustrated as I am. Can you look into this problem. Thanks

I always get directed straight to the farm screen when I accept gifts.
Are you clicking on the gift box to see if the gifts are there?

i found out a while back the reason I was loosing gifts was I hadn't been waiting for the accept gifts page to fully load.......then it would only send me to my farm..... that first part where you click to accept or ignore the gift......in firefox you have a green activity type light up bar........ if that is still green you loose gifts and or neighbor requests......
I use Face book...... so it could be different if your on My Space.......

Well Farm town doesn't know that cranberries grow in bogs...LOL so they put out a cranberry tree of all things! You can purchase it at the store.

The cranberry tree was a great idea, especially since we don't have bogs. Yes, the cranberry tree fruit is edible, but you don't want to be around when its being cooked.

Dumb Question #254.........ok are you never supposed to sell your strawberry, pineapple etc...... just always keep it for the facilities??? you make more on them than just selling them in the market as is..... but does there come a time when you can't process the ones that you do have in storage therefore need to sell them?? ((as I said it's a dumb ??))

Yeah, I've thought about that, too. I have more than 8 million worth of pineapples in storage. I don't have the juice factory (not enough FC) so my only use for pineapples is yogurt, and Hawaiian pizza if someone would just send me some ham. But, hey, I'm making a killing on all my facilities, so I don't really care. :D

Keep what you have for facilities, they will be good for as long as you have them. Nice to have all that in stock,grow something else you need in the meantime.

Actually, I was wrong. There is no pineapple yogurt (though it would be a nice addition). It's the pineapple ice cream that I make. So I have enough pineapple now to make everything under the sun for the next 5 years. :D You're right about stockpiling a different crop. I'm starting to build my stockpile of coffee, hoping beyond hope that soon we'll be able to grind coffee. :D Wish there was something to use the peppers for--I've got 12M of those in storage! :p

I want to plant a few crops on my main farm, but right now it is full of all my animals. I realize that for whatever reason we can't move them from farm to farm, so my question is, can I move the facilities to one of my other farms and still have my animals be part of the harvesting process from the main farm?

Thanks for all the updates! I was one of those who visited my farm 2 times a week to harvest and sell and redecorated a few times a year. Now I'm back to my addiction! LOL :D :o :)

Hi Capri.

The facilities that are required to harvest your animals (chicken coop, dairy shed and wool shed) must be on the same farm as the associated animals.

All other facilities use what they need to produce their products from the items you have in your crop storage area. Since you can access the crop storage from any of your farms, the other facilities can be anywhere you'd like.

PLEASE NOTE: Do NOT try to move any facility until it is completely empty. Placing a facility in storage will re-set it and you will lose all pending and done products.

Just to see I wrote down what time I harvested this morning....... checking them both during the day yesterday the dairy farm was always a head......but i hadn't wrote it down to be sure......we shall see what happens......

I check my gift box & it is not full....every time I click to receieve a gift I then get taken back to my homepage & no gift. I am able to send gifts to my neighbors but have not been able to receieve for three weeks. Thanks for any help you can give.

Any chance of getting a trading post? These factories/restaurants are great, but allot of people don't have the time or effort to not only keep these factories running, but to plant everything that needs to be planted to make them run, all at the same time.. It would be great to have a place for "us farmers" to trade with "other farmers" our extra commodities for what they have, an exchange.. Think this would really add a fun dimension to the game :)

Don't get me wrong, the gifting is great.. Just think this would be a whole lot of fun to barter with others...

I like your suggestion, Wendums. Since most of my FB friends aren't into Farm Town, the gifting is a slow process and when I get more facilities (only have room for the mill now) I'll need those extra products and will have crops to trade for things I'm not going to use in facilities.

I too like the trading post idea, or some semi-automated auction that would exchange coins for items produced. I'd been pondering it for some time but a trading post is the best articulation for the idea so far.

can we have a place where we can check the latest virus scams going around..i have looked everywhere.i have just received a note while playing and apparently if i send this note to 10 other people i will get dollars to spend.this is supposed to have come from farmtown..im fed up with this rubbish going around.people should get a life and stop trying to ruin others..i know this message is not in the right place but had no idea where to post it..

I wish they would extend the level's ...when they went from 60 to 80 i was put right to 80...i like the challenge of getting the xp points and seeing how far off i am to the next level.....can you make the level's go to 100 and eveyone that is at 80 leave them there so they have the challenge again to the next level

First we just got new levels so it will probably be a while before we get more, if we do get more levels. Second you can't leave people at the old level if they have the xps to reach a new level that would be like saying all the work you have done in the last few months was for nothing. I understand where you are coming from on moving from one top level to the next. It happened to me when levels 35-60 came out then again when 61-80 came out, but like I said I don't wan to do all that work for nothing. Look at it this way. They come out with cool new stuff for the new levels and I can't buy any of it because they didn't give me or count the xps I have earned for the last few months, so now I have to earn them all over again. I would not be happy if they did that. I have just come to the conclusion that unless I stop playing for a while, I will always be at the top level. I just have to accept that and enjoy the fact that when new items come out I can buy them as soon as they come out.
