The developers have provided us with several links to check your server and connectivity.

To use these links, please click on each one of the links provided below. You will get a new window with the response. The response for each of these should be: Server and Connectivity OK!

If you get any other response the devs need specific information from you to help track down the problem.

Please provide the following:

The link that provided the response

Your Facebook user ID, this can be done by either providing us with your Facebook ID number or a link to your farm. Instructions for finding that number and making a link to your farm are in the link in my signature.

The farm on which you have the most trouble. Please identify it by number rather than farm name.

Your MPS Server (the F’s) and Web Server (ex: W81). Both of these numbers can be found in the red writing in the chat box when you first enter you farm. Even if you have been using the chat you can scroll back and get that information.
Please provide all of the information requested in order for the developers to track down the problem as quickly as possible.

If you receive the response "Server and Connectivity OK!" that tells us and the developers your server is good and we will need to help you investigate on your end what may be causing the trouble. There are several steps in the thread dealing with the game not loading which can actually help with disconnection problems. Please look at this thread http://slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352666 for that information. Please post in that thread for additional help.

hi, having the same problems with keeping a connection. I am using chrome, on facebook connecting to w5. Have gone through every test you have posted. Shows everything is alright. But no matter what I am trying to do either on my own farm or someone elses I lose connection anywhere from 2 - 5 minutes after connecting. Very annoying.

Just so we have it in this thread could both of you please provide this information:

Your MPS Server (the F’s) and Web Server (ex: W81). Both of these numbers can be found in the red writing in the chat box when you first enter you farm. Even if you have been using the chat you can scroll back and get that information.

Even though the tests say they are good sometimes we see something that is deeper than these tests can find, but we need to find a trend or a common MPS or Web Server to report to the developers. Otherwise it is like looking for a needle in a hay stack for them.

How often to you click on save? Do you click several times in a session or just at the end?

It automatically saves. I do not save until the end of my job

I just went into Farmtown now and got a plowing job, it started to count the XP points at first. Then I thought I'd try pressing the save button, then from then on it stopped counting XP points. Server did not say it had timed out, unless I went back to the Market.

I wonder if it has something to do with the saving button at a certain stage?

Many players have found that while they are on another farm it is best to wait until they are done with the job to save.

On your own farm you should save periodically.

done :) have spent the last several hours doing everything in that list .. again.. and posted my results in the other thread.
as per my post in the other thread too, another lady brings up a good point, there seem to be a lot of new zealanders like me, having problems..... maybe that could be taken into consideration too? because we're a small country of only around 4million people... to have so many kiwi's reporting problems could be significant somehow...?

PLEASE HELP US!!

Aaarrrrgghhhh, yes I'm a New Zealander. I have made sure all my cache's are deleted and have checked servers are working ok, which are. I work from Facebook. Have deleted all the posts from my profile page going back from last week. I have made sure we have the most up-to-date flash player's, adobe stuff. Still trying to figure out how to find server I'm on. Under chat I understand in red (will have a look.

Yesterday I had this problem:
I didn't see my tree shaker and fishing boat for about an hour, then they were back.
Later when I started the game, I couldn'tt connect to town mainframe and get these notes:

Connect to town mainframe (WF6)
Connect to green mainframe (WF6)
Connect to yellow mainframe (WF6)

but it never connected, it ended with U00 error

I could login this morning, I can't again for last hour. First I had green screen, now I'm stucked with loading user. Tried test links both times and all were 'Server and Conectivity OK'.

The link http://apps.facebook.com/farmtown/play/?do=clear_memcached produced this:

Unsetting ... farm:561124053_4
Unsetting ... farm:561124053_5

I have slaskey.com and r1slashkey.com listed as safe sites in antivirus.

What I don't get is why sometimes I can load game and sometimes not.

I'm on WF6, running Chrome on Vista, but had same result with IE and FireFox.

I would be grateful for any suggestion :)

Have not had many problems with servers timing out etc over the last couple of days WF9, thanks for looking at it :) The only thing is that friends farms that I go into work at their facilities if it saves before it goes to the next facility, it wont take me there. I noticed that one of my friends that did this was on WF38. Could you please have a look into this...

I usually connect to server WF44. I have run the tests at the beginning of this tread and they all work ok. I find that when I am on WF44 I get lots of mainframe disconnect and reconnects, slow performance for any task - planting, harvesting etc., and have been kicked off of jobs because of the reconnect. There are times when I am lucky enough to connect to a different server and I do not have these issues. Is there any way if you are having issues to force yourself to connect to a different server?

something that has been able to bump people to another server is to log out of FB and then click on the "Play FarmTown" button at the top of the forum. I can't remember if you'll need to close your browser and then restart it before clicking on the forum link to the game, might be worth bookmarking the forum link first so it's easy to find when you restart your browser

server i am currently connected on is WF40 ..I have been experiencing the same issues for about a week now .. slow connect to my farms and my neighbors .. timed out messages asking me to reconnect to the server while plowing planting or harvesting ... my farms are plowed, planted and harvested yet i am waiting for xp points and coins to be credited or minused, working mine or neighbors facilities, i get a "saving" msg if i try to go to another farm or facilitiy and xp points and coins are still being credited after i have finished the job i ran each of the test listed in the starting post and each one came back as "server and connectivity ok!" this is frustrating to say the least as i have to keep going to my facebook page and then come back to farm town to continue working my farms.

when i log in to the message board its states my farm is linked but if its not let me know

it use to be that when i started 4x4 harvesting or seeding an error box would pop up( usually xlink....) and i could continue working around it (which was a huge hastle). about a week ago when the new error box pops up with the green and red options i can no longer work around the box, my work doesnt register. clicking the green retry is a joke, it never worked. i even tried clicking slowley, not clicking the next click until those 16 squares were done prosessing. same thing the new error box pops up and doesnt let me work around it. ive emptied both my caches like the forum told me and made sure the one had a full mb of space, upgraded my flashplayer, clicked all the links the forum told me to and got an ok on each one etc... everything i was suppose to do i did and it didnt fix the problem.
i have 8 farms and im not about to click the 4x4 once to seed then kill that window and reopen farmtown for each click. it would take forever. since your new error box with options that dont work i cant even work around the box to get the jobs done. untill the problem is fixed i cant play farmtown anymore, its rediculous.
i use an aircard to go online that works fine for everything else
i hope thats not the problem or i spent all that time doing all of your suggestions for nothing when it should have been posted first as possible problem...... farmtown has become a complete waste of time
if you fix it please let me know so i can start playing again

Hi the big bulldozers will only clear harvested or plowed fields more than one at a time. If the fields are seeded you could wait until they are ready and harvest them first then delete them.

it use to be that when i started 4x4 harvesting or seeding an error box would pop up( usually xlink....) and i could continue working around it (which was a huge hastle). about a week ago when the new error box pops up with the green and red options i can no longer work around the box, my work doesnt register. clicking the green retry is a joke, it never worked. i even tried clicking slowley, not clicking the next click until those 16 squares were done prosessing. same thing the new error box pops up and doesnt let me work around it. ive emptied both my caches like the forum told me and made sure the one had a full mb of space, upgraded my flashplayer, clicked all the links the forum told me to and got an ok on each one etc... everything i was suppose to do i did and it didnt fix the problem.
i have 8 farms and im not about to click the 4x4 once to seed then kill that window and reopen farmtown for each click. it would take forever. since your new error box with options that dont work i cant even work around the box to get the jobs done. untill the problem is fixed i cant play farmtown anymore, its rediculous.
i use an aircard to go online that works fine for everything else
i hope thats not the problem or i spent all that time doing all of your suggestions for nothing when it should have been posted first as possible problem...... farmtown has become a complete waste of time
if you fix it please let me know so i can start playing again

:(
I also had your previous problem and worked around that box as you did.
I cannot do even this since, the upgrade .
As soon as ive clicked a tool and done 1 4x4 , I have to reload .
I can harvest/plough 1 square at a time though, so maybe the problem is in the tools ?

I've been having the same problems with the X Link error for months, but could work 'around it' until the last changes to the game, and I can no longer do this. I have to reboot the game every time this happens. Using the green tick does not work.

I took my computer in to the shop to be 'cleaned up', more memory added etc, in the hopes that this would help, but it hasn't. This also happens on my laptop. My sister's computer (in the same room as mine) works fine, as well as my husband's.

This happens when I use the following: chain saw, fishing boat, 3/3 plower, harvester and planter, and also when I 'sell all' items at the market.

I did all the things you suggested, including all the server test links, but it has done no good.

I connect with WF8, and this is the link to my farms.

Hello,

Thank you, that one works great. Had no problems loading your farms so server seems fine. Can you check your game preferences and un check the box marked "Show coins and XP animatons". See if that helps.

ETA can you load your farms using either your sister's or husbands computers ?

I tried unchecking that--still happens.
I have no problems loading and playing on their computers. It doesn't happen on theirs. I even un-installed and re-installed Flash player today, but still is happening.

The tools (boat, chain saw etc) DO work, but I have to go really slow, which sort of defeats the purpose...

It's very frustrating, because I want to get the 'tools' that will speed up the game (even if it costs the green $$$), but I'm not going to pay for something that isn't going to work. If the regular fishing boat won't work, I'm sure the "Super Boat" isn't going to...

Hello,

O.k if you can load your farms on other computers using the same internet connection, that tells me there is something on your computer which is different to theirs.
When you updated your flash player, was the browser you are using the only one open at the time and did you remember to restart your computer after doing it?
Which browser are you using, could you possibly try using chrome, that tends to work well for a lot of players.
If remember right, you said you have already cleared both your browser cache and your macromedia files ?
Have you tried upping the macromedia storage for cdn.slashkey to 1MB ?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to pinpoint where the problem is.

I don't mind the questions at all! I've asked these questions several times before, and you're the first person to really try and help--Thank you!

Yes to the questions about the browser, and to restarting the computer. I use Internet Explorer 8--never tried Chrome, but I'll give it a try.

Yes also to clearing the Cache and Macromedia files.

No, I haven't tried upping the storage though, but I'll give that a try as well.

I 'fished' earlier, and it did seem to work better than it had before reinstalling the Flash player. I was still getting the xlink error, but not nearly as often or as quickly as I had before. (It was every fourth click or so before).

Thanks again for all the suggestions. I'll let you know how they work. :)

hi, having the same problems with keeping a connection. I am using chrome, on facebook connecting to w5. Have gone through every test you have posted. Shows everything is alright. But no matter what I am trying to do either on my own farm or someone elses I lose connection anywhere from 2 - 5 minutes after connecting. Very annoying.

I have been having the same problem now for a week or two. Almost every time I do something. plant a tree, harvest flowers/crops, etc, I get the error message to click the green button to reconnect.

This is particularly frustrating when I store my facilities products as I don't get the message until I close the facilities box. When I reload, I find that most of the products I thought I stored are still in the facilities. I've learned the hard way to store mu products one farm at a time, since there are mega problems with the 'All Farms' option. I can however, set up production by using the 'All Farms' option, although it is slower.

This happens:

On multiple computers. I have 4 in the house. 2 desktops/2 laptops
In regular and full screen mode.
With Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Safari (although chrome has fewer problems)
I have cleared computer and flash cache - multiple times.
Reinstalled Flash.
Updated all browsers.

I clear my cache approx every 30 minutes.

I don't have these problems in other flash games.

________________________________________

Another thing I find that slows the game considerably is having to wait for the slow walking avatar. Mr. Pokey, seems to take forever. Why can't he stay in teh center of a field and 'oversee' the planting, harvesting, chopping, etc. It would speed the game up and seems as if it would be less taxing on the servers to have him walking all over the place.

Hello,

I have a few suggestions for you to try, that i havent seen you mentioned in your post.

After you deleted the macromedia file for FT and reloaded the game, did you go back to the adobe site and try upping the storage allowed for cdn.slashkey ? If you think your computer can handle the new setting, try upping it to 1MB. If the problem gets worse just go back adobe site and reset it to 100kb.
If that doesnt help try this......
When you are playing FT make sure it is the only thing running on your computer and no other pages/tabs are open at the same time, close any other apps that are using the internet including email, music played from your computer etc. The idea is to only have FT running.
If you are doing all the work yourself or before collecting from facilities try doing it offline ( click the green plug to disconnect, the red to reconnect). You coould also try, in game settings, turning off buildings, decs, trees, flowers, show xp animations. The less that is loaded the smaller the demand will be on flashplayer and your computer's memory.

Hope something there will help.

I have cleared caches, I have checked all connections..everything else works just getting my produce faster to work..can anyone out there help and what do I need to set my harvesting level to? I have tried adjusting the settings for flash. I've used the default, upped it to 10 mgs too, but get the same.

I also hide trees, buildings, freeze animals (all but a few are in sheds)

The only thing running on my computer is the browser. No email, other programs, etc. The only browser window/tab I have open is my farm.

I have also tried the offline mode. Oddly I still get a saving message that takes forever. I thought offline mode would keep you tasks in RAM and only save when you hit the save button. It's very frustrating.

I'm no expert but Ithink the problem is the game server capacity on slashkey. It is often worse during evening hours and weekends. I'm home today and playing, and it seems to be a bit better, but it is sporadic.

You cannot be running the game in full screen mode. I found that out a while back. Another option would be to go back an delete the permission for farmtown to post to you wall, restart your browser, clear the cache, and the allow farmtown to post to you wall again.

You can also check your privacy settings in facebook to make sure you have allowed the app to post.

How this helps.

:oThe developers have provided us with several links to check your server and connectivity.

Hello,

Try clearing your caches, close browser and reload. Try again. Also double check that all aspects of the time day, month and year are still showing correct on your computer.

I have a MAC / I have no problems with flash with ANYTHING else . I have a TON of additional RAM ... more than most businesses ... Nothing is wrong with MY computer .

i think I will quit playing Farm Town. This is supposed to be a fun GAME ... not a source of stress and hassle.

Something is wrong with YOUR SERVERS ... overloaded ? or ???

i have not been able to load farmtown all day. I have cleared the cache, deleted the macro media file . I have checked the server connections. I have tried both Explorer and Firefox. Can anyone help me figure out the issue.

Firefox loads a farm and gets stuck on load user. IE just won't load it gets stuck on loading oil pump. My moms farms are played on the same computer and they load and are playable.

Canvas Server LB IP: canvas
Canvas Server LB Name: server and connectivity OK
Non-Canvas Server W52 IP: server and connectivity OK
Non-Canvas Server W52 Name: server and connectivity OK

Content Server RR Name: pic of the white Valentine "hugs" bear
Content Server C1 Name: pic of the white Valentine "hugs" bear

Hi there,

No, that's not correct, could you try clearing your browser cache again, close browser, reboot your computer, reload and try the link again please.

I got the same thing Tiger for the last link. I haven't been having any problems and just tried it because she had asked.

I had just cleared my cache, tried updating Flash, I had rebooted my computer (which involved closing browser) after running full updated virus scan.

It is showing under the last 1 for me now - yesterday I kept the tab open while entering the info from it and it was under the 5th link then.

Hi, I'm hoping someone has a solution to this problem. I have one neighbor whose posts I can't see. She has one other neighbor who can't see them either, but all her others can. We both have done the cache and macros clearing and followed all the instructions regarding the timeline and made sure nothing was blocked. She can see my posts, we can send each other gifts and visit each others farms. I have no trouble seeing posts from any of my other neighbors and they can see mine. She doesn't use IE and neither do I. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to fix this issue? Thanks!

No, I've tried looking for her posts through my main FB page and through the Request link on the farm page, neither of them will show her posts.

Hi :)

Can you see her posts on her timeline/profile page? Does she have lists? I have about ten lists set up on who can see different things. Farm Town Friends, Family, School Friends, etc. If she does have lists perhaps she missed a couple people when setting it up.

I cannot see them on her timeline either. I will ask her if she has lists set up for that. It's just weird.

Move your mouse pointer over newsfeed on your home page. You will see a pen symbol show up. Cleck on that and choose Edit Settings. In the list that comes look for her name. If it is there then click the X next to it to remove her from your blocked list.

Try resetting/restarting your router. May not be finding the server. By restarting the router then it will re search for the server.

I am getting error message error saving data error x025 click to reload.

Did the tests in the first post, all were ok.

I get this error message when I try to put horses into to storage so I can move them to another farm with their stable.

uid: 100000161214159

On farm 9 is the only one I have been working on do not know if it effects others or not.

I was using chrome switched to IE same thing.

Hi,

The developers have posted that this has now been fixed. I've tried it on my farms and had no problems since the fix.

Try adding those horses now.
