Cannot see people or chat in the Market Place or Inn

If you are experiencing this problem please try the suggestions listed below..


1. Reset your language. Many members have reported that their language had changed on its own. English is the best setting for the most people in the market. Even if it is already set to English try resetting it to English.

2. Clear your browser.

3. Make sure that you farm has fully loaded before you try to go to the market.

4. Try going to the market via another route. If you have anything in storage go to your storage bin and choose sell on an item. You should not have to actually sell anything if you don't want to. Try clicking on your neighbors tab, then going back to your farm then go to market.

If none of these help please include the server number on which your farm is hosted and the server number of the market when you arrive. Both of these can be found in the red letters when you enter your farm or the market place. It will read WF14 for example. In the event this is a server issue having the server numbers will help the developers track it down much more quickly.


Remember you can harvest your own crops and harvest your own fields so nothing goes to waste.

Been gone a couple weeks, Still a problem eh? Surely it could be fixed soon. Be gone again real soon, and I'll check back in a month or so. but currently not playing the game anymore because if I can't go to the market place and do ANYTHING, it's really not a socia networking game anymore. I cannot hire anyone at the market place, try as i might. They are asking for work and when i click to hire there is no response at all even though they are asking for the work i am offering. I am sure that my request is not getting to them, and this has been going on for weeks. Strange thing is that i can hire with no difficulty when on my farm! Wish you could help me out here with a solution.

well i thought it had sorted itself out but apparently not, i am still struggling with seeing people in the market place, they are either not there or frozen, or i have ghosts all over my farms and other peoples, when i do get hired and am working for someone i sometimes get hires from people at the market place at the same time, i have loading issues from the market place retrying 1 2 3....... i need some help here, i dont understand what is going on,the problem comes and goes and i am doing nothing diffferant, i have been struggling for 3 weeks now, yesterday afternoon it started working as it should, now suddenly half an hr ago, the problems are back.

This is now 3 farms that cannot see people! I read in the support that is has to do with the media servers not connecting, I'm on WF1 server farms 5, 8 and 9 so far are messed up! Any ideas on when they are fixing this issue?? Otherwise I like the upgrades! Just glitches are nerve racking!

Please Please Please fix this problem i am sick of going to the market and not being able to hire because i can't see no one, this has been happening for far too long and loads of us are getting this problem. I am having the same problem and have been since just before the last update. I have submitted the problem in the 'support' section but nothing seems to be done:( I have been playing since April 2009 and this happened once before but was quickly fixed - this time it is really spoiling the game.

Ok, I know everyone is very busy keeping us happy with updates, but I would really like to be able to go to the Market and have people there. I have tried everything from reloading the game to clearing cookies, cache, and macro cache. The problem persists. I get people in the market about 1 in every 10 tries. And then most of the time, names do not appear in the chat. I know this is an on-going problem, but I really would appreciate it if it could be corrected. It's very frustrating when it is the game I play 90% of the time. The others are played usually if Farm Town is having issues. And those issues are normally when loading updates. So I play the other games and continually check Farm Town to see what's new, as I love the updates.

The very same thing is happening to me.....oddly tho, when I stay in the market with (no names showing) if I happen to lower the screen and then check it moments later.........ALL THE people's chat messages start flying acrosss the screen. At first thought it might be my computer, but have tried it on our office computer which has a massive server......STILL happens. New items are great ..........but taking care of all the OLD problems would be even greater. ALSOOOOOO....the black box when working on someone's farm that is constantly telling you it is trying to % up to 100% is getting really old. This has been going on since the previous 2 updates. I've always depended on hiring workers from the market place, believing this helped both myself and other players. Now no one is going to the hiring market to look for work. If you go to the trading market you sometimes find someone who will help you out by doing a job for you, but they are really there to sell. Often there is no one at all in the market, except of course Tom. This morning there were 5 of us at one point, but we were all looking for workers. As this is a fairly new problem, I wondered if there is any help we can get to solve it.:eek:

Different day................SAME DANG PROBLEM.
Makes a person want to CUSS! ( WF36 ) It does NOT matter what computer I am on..... Home, Work, Friends............same problem. Work has 250 computers tied to several servers so IT IS not my puter. Home puter is new........but still cleared cache, defragged (tho not necessary) Flash is up to date as well as other add on's. This is an ONGOING problem. Its really FUNNY that the selling marketplace and the INN show names...its only the regular marketplace that has an issue. If it were OUR computers there would be a problem in each area...not isolated to one. THE constant enquiring of crops when harvesting is another thing I want to CUSS at. I harvested a field with crops, trees, and flowers....did them in that order. When I completely finished...it was STILL trying to load the dang crops. Good Lord can somebody fix this problem. There are plenty of workers there in the marketplace. WHat is happening is a glitch within farmtown that doesnt show the avatars...and most of the time doesnt show their name in the chat area. Its such an ongoing problem it causes alot of people to just stay away completely. I have been in the market place several times this morning and it is full (15-20) people. At times I have to completely go back to FACEBOOK and come back into Farmtown in order for the avatars to show up. Again...........a glitch. :(

this is a joke today I've cleared cache and macro files ran Ccleaner and malwarebytes all clean i got 5 accounts on 5 different browers and 3 different computers still can not see people in market or at best see them but no names/speech bubbles wife's got 2 accounts with same problems

This problem has nothing to do with cache or anything like that. It has to me on my old desktop, my laptop, my wife's computer, my work computer and a new desktop that I just built. Doesn't matter what browser I have used IE 6 7 & 8, Firefox 3 and 4, and Chrome 11 and 12. I am on WF31. I have had this problem for a long time starting with the 12/3 Update of last year. Since then it has come and gone with each update. You have a special forum just for this issue so you are aware it effects multiple users. Please lets get it fixed it is very annoying.

Well, it is June 26th and still the problem has not been fixed in the market place. Some are saying that their's is okay but some says theirs is doing the same thing as mine. People are not showing unless I stay for about 5 min. and then it is only about 4 people. I will never move up like this. I love this game and know it will be fixed so I keep on trying to hire someone to plow but I would love to see it the way it was with alot of people in there. I'm getting incredibly tired of having to load and re-load the market and then wait for people to start slowly appearing one by one just to hire them to do my harvests. This is getting ridiculous - fix the problem already! It has nothing to do with caches or servers - it's a bug in the game.

I just haven't been able to work on anyone's farm the last few days as every time I get hired I land on "Visiting Friend" and must then click to go home and land back on my farm again.Is it just me?? I do see others as well as myself beaming down on Friends farm as well.

Hi there Shennie. Sorry for the troubles. The developers are aware of these issues and are working towards a fix. Some problems are exceedingly tricky though.

Have you checked your preferences to make sure that you are landing in an english speaking marketplace?

i have the same problem in the marketplace and on one of my farms (farm 4)... on my farm, i can deal with it... i just hire for there last so there's no rehiring (it's covered with trees and flowers)
as far as the marketplace, i only have a question... changing the language to English, does it matter if it's US or UK? :)

This has been going on longer than a week for some. You will not see a change until they (Slashkey developers) can find what is causing this and come up with a solution. It isn't as easy as you think to read through thousands of lines of code and find the one little error. Please be patient with them as they are trying to work on all these problems reported here in the forums.

For you it worked before the last update. For others it has been a lot longer. This thread was started back in February of last year. If there was an answer to the problem then it would have been corrected or posted here, but the developers have not been able so far to find what is causing this. This problem is random and not effecting everyone and that makes it even more difficult to find.
Only thing that works so far has been for people to go into the market from other locations repeatedly until they get one that shows the names and allows hiring.

Make sure you are not Off-line (plug symbol up top should be green). Also check and make sure your language is set to English in your Preferences (wrench up top)

i have one neighbor who cannot chat with me on my farm. he can chat in the market place, the inn, other farmers farms but not on my farm. i can chat on his farm.

every now and then, he can chat on my farm but for the most part he cannot chat with me. i can hire him to work..but not chat.

When he working on your farm is he using full screen mode? If he is then that will be why his chat doesnt work.

If it's not that, couple of things he can try.......

clearing browser cache, information on how to do that, if needed, in the red link of my signature.
resetting his langauge to english, even if it already is set to english, try resetting it.

no, he's not using full screen and he does clear the cache frequently as do i. he uses IE and i use firefox but this is not a problem with other neighbors that i have. as i said, i can chat on his farm but he cannot chat on mine. he can also chat in the marketplace and the inn. he is checking to see if he can chat on other farms.

could his adobe flash player have any bearing on this?

Lol thanks for the vote of confidence lol . Unfortunately this seems to be one of those on again and off again problems. I believe last time the devs said it was fixed, but maybe with the last update brought it up again, I don't know.

Only thing to try is clear your cache and macromedia files.

This has been an ongoing problem that sometimes gets fixed with updates but comes back sometimes.

Have you tried uninstalling your flash player, rebooting your computer and re-installing it? Sounds like it may be messed up.

Join the crowd...........mine has been that way for 2 weeks. Developers TRIED working to fix it....but the ONLY thing that changed was I lost 5000 trees on one farm. Had to delete all my plots and flowers in order for them to clean data. I have not been getting the dialog that shows when someone accepts your job in the marketplace occasionally. Not very often, but when it happens, I only find out there is someone doing my work when I get the floating text that "_____ has harvested *whatever* and placed it on your storage".

Hey! the last few weeks I cannot type on Farm Town......I go to the marketplace and cannot type...or if i am hired onto someones farm, or hire someone onto mine, i cannot chat at all! i have cleared my browser and reset Safari....what else can i do? i also cant type on IWIN's family fued, but have no answers from them! please help!!!!!
Sounds to me like either a security setting in Safari or a corrupted Flash Player. Try uninstalling Flash Player and the re-install it. Reboot in between and after re-installing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash and cleared out everything suggested to clear and still no luck. I have read of other people having this problem so I'm going to stay off FT for a while. I am out of town now and will check periodically to see if the problem has been corrected. I can't check the "quote message in reply" box option at the bottom of this Post so I'm not confident that even this will get posted!

Are you using "full screen" ? Chat doesn't work in that mode, use normal screen for chatting.

It is all part of the same glitch as stated in the Announcements. All you had to do is retsart your farms.

As you know it's safari, try either updating your version, or if you have done recently, then go back to the older version that worked for you.

As you seem to have a few things going on here, i would recommend you try the tips in the 1st post on page 1 of the following link for clearing caches and checking your flash player.

I dont know your experience with the game so will mention a few things just in case you are unaware of them........

Chat does not work in full screen mode, you need to be in normal screen to use it. Chat will also not allow you to repeatedly say the same thing all the time, if that's what you are doing , try wording the next sentence slightly differently.

With your storage, both Harvest and Item storage have several filters. I dont know what you were looking for but, try setting the filters to "all". See if what you were looking for shows up then.

That's because FT chat wont let you say exactly the same thing over and over again. It's sort of a way to help stop people flooding the chat with exactly the same thing each time. Adding a full stop, counts as enough of a difference to allow the same words used previously to go through.

But I'm not repeating myself. I may have just arrived and am asking for someone to do a certain type of work or I may just be responding to what someone else has said.

This also sometimes happens at my own farm when I'm trying to thank the person who worked or greet them when they arrive.

Have you tried deleting the macromedia file for cdn.slashkey, then going back to the adobe site and upping the storage to 1MB?

It's happening on two computer, one of which is brand new and all software is up to date. I have the storage at 1mb on both computers.

Usually when your FT pic is whited out, you haven't let your farm load fully. Are you going striaght to the market then when this happens?

Have you tried clicking outside of the FT screen and then click in the chat box?

The text is an Adobe Flash Player problem. The last upgrade of Flash has a glitch in it that is causing the text to be vertical is parts of the farm.

Yes, I've tried them all, and it isn't helping. Not working on three different computers, on Firefox and IE, two computers running XP and one running Vista, one running the latest Flash update and two not. Got most bases covered between the three machines and it isn't making any difference. This is very weird.

Hmm, I dont really use those browsers much. Give me a min and i'll try loading on IE. In the meantime, have you changed any settings on your comp since the last time you saw people at market? Try clicking on a neighbour's request, to take you to their farm, preferably someone on a diff server to you, then go to market.

ETA have just loaded the markets going via your server on both IE and chrome, and see lots of people there.

The only thing I've done since the last time I saw people at the market was to upgrade Flash on one computer and buy a boat. But the problem is also happening on two computers with older versions of Flash.

Going to the market via a neighbour's farm isn't helping.

It's weird; as long as a ton of people aren't complaining, it can't be a server problem, but as long as it's happening on three separate computers, but just to my ID and not other people's (we've tried another ID on all three computers and it's working fine), it can't be a computer problem.

When she logged in as herself and went to the marketplace from my farm, she could see people fine, but not when she logged in as me. She uses a Mac with Safari, so yet another browser is having the same problem.

The right hand list you are referring to is a Facebook thing and not done by Farm Town.

Hold down the Ctrl key and press the 0 (zero). That should reset it back to 100%.

Be sure you move the mouse pointer outside of your farm area. This is for your screen resolution and not for the chat problem.

The chat isn't working for me or one of my friends, when you click on the chat tab. FB must be trying one of their "bright" ideas again, grrr. However, if you know who you want to chat with, click on their picture on the left frame of your home page before you go to your farm. It will stay up and work.

Sounds like you have turned off Chat Availability. Check your settings in Chat.

You don't see any green dots by your friends showing them as on? Try setting it to where you show as unavailable and then back on and see if that helps. Other than that only thing I can say is logout of Facebook, close your browser then open it and log back in. Could just be hung.

You have probably already done this, but make sure you are both online in FT. If one of you goes offline, like to go to the market to sell your stuff, make sure click the plug to go back online. You have to both be online.

Another thing to do is try moving your avatar. I've had it happen a few times that we couldn't see each other, then one of us moved and the avatar appeared.

For some reason it won't let me create my own thread within the "help and support" thing. I have two issues, one related to this post. That is the fact that sometimes I go to the market, type what I want to say in the chatbox, press enter and it doesn't show up. It's happened multiple times and there's no way to get around it except to reload. I'd like to know why it's happening. When it happens, I am NOT in full-screen mode. I have safari 5.1 and it's happened since I updated my browser (i.e. no cache/full cookie jar at the beginning; my old one 5.0.5 simply crashed all the time for no reason).

The other issues I have are related to my forum account. I can't post new threads, or even modify my own account under my user CP. It tells me I must be trying to modify someone else's account, or I don't have permissions because my account isn't fully activated, when that's not possible. I activated my account with one of those activation emails a week ago and somehow my account is still screwy. I was also told in that email that I was going to get an email when the moderators or whomever were going to allow me to post. I still haven't gotten that email. Considering I haven't, this right here should not work, and either way I should be able to modify my own user CP.

Yesterday however I upgraded to a new computer running Win 7 64 bit. I can type to chat, however nothing appears when I try to type to the screen chat or FT message windows.

Number one fixed it. But there is Language located in 2 places on the page. Check the language in the box that pops up when you click on map. It had changed all by it self. Switched it back to English and it is working again. Thanks

Cannot see people or chat in the Market Place or Inn

If you are experiencing this problem please try the suggestions listed below..


1. Reset your language. Many members have reported that their language had changed on its own. English is the best setting for the most people in the market. Even if it is already set to English try resetting it to English.

2. Clear your browser.

3. Make sure that you farm has fully loaded before you try to go to the market.

4. Try going to the market via another route. If you have anything in storage go to your storage bin and choose sell on an item. You should not have to actually sell anything if you don't want to. Try clicking on your neighbors tab, then going back to your farm then go to market.

If none of these help please include the server number on which your farm is hosted and the server number of the market when you arrive. Both of these can be found in the red letters when you enter your farm or the market place. It will read WF14 for example. In the event this is a server issue having the server numbers will help the developers track it down much more quickly.


Remember you can harvest your own crops and harvest your own fields so nothing goes to waste.

On my farm 1 can not see anyone or hire them there. have to have them come to farm 2 to hire them. when i go back to 1 nobody there but if i come back again work is being done. also if another person comes on farm 1 they can see and talk to the person hired but can't see me or talk to me. please help i also have a problem with one neighbor saw and talked to her now for the last 3 months have not been able to see or talk but then she will be able to get through we are able to talk and work each others farm and then 2 hrs later is gone. can not send messages no chat lost each other on facebook but is neighbor on farm town and we want to be able to talk and work each others farm how can this be fixed?

Rhubarb Pie and Wind Vane won't stay checked, no matter how many times I click the box next to them. Every time I sell I have to check them again.

If you sent your 35 gifts before sending the neighbor request then that is why your neighbor request wouldn't go through. Neighbor requests are lumped together with gifts as "Game Requests." They did raise it from 26 to 35.
I found that if I close Farm Town and then re-open it I can send another batch.

Rhubarb Pie and Wind Vane won't stay checked, no matter how many times I click the box next to them. Every time I sell I have to check them again.

is this only happening to me or are others seeing it too?

Rhubarb Pie is a Non-ingredient (not used for anything after completion) so you don't need to check it which is why it isn't staying checked. The Wind Vane does go to one of the service facilities, but should stay checked.

First of all I have problems hiring workers. They are not receiving my message most of the time and when they do I am not notified and end up with several workers at one farm and they are never happy campers when that happens. On top of this I keep getting a "Reload" message and lose my work when I am on a farm. Loading is very, very slow and sometimes a farmer hires someone else after hiring me because of the slow loading. Actually this game is getting to be not only expensive but becoming much too frustrating to be fun any longer.

What EXACTLY is happening? What happens when you attempt to type into the box? There are a few things we can try to troubleshoot what may be happening....

1. Clear your Browser's Cache And Macromedia Cache Files.

Click HERE (http://slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258262) for instructions on clearing your browser's cache. Click HERE (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html) to clear your macromedia cache files.

2. Uninstall your Flashplayer HERE (http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157) Download a new version HERE (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/)

3. Reset your modem/router. Power off your computer, turn off and then unplug your router for a few minutes, and then turn everything back on.

4. Try playing with a completely different browser.

Thanks for your reply, but I had already tried all the things you suggested. I can type in the message box on my farm to any of my neighbors, but when I go to the "Marketplace", it will not let me type in the chat box, except about once every couple days. The same thing happens when I am hired to work on a farm. Cannot communicate with the other farmers. FT is the only game on FB that I am having trouble. Have never had trouble with FT. It has always been the most reliable. I know that one of my friends had the same problem for one day, but it cleared up on its on.

Click on the map in the lower right corner. At the bottom of that pop up is language. My guess is it changed during the maintenance. Set it to your language.

You may have changed servers which will change your market. Also check that your language is set correctly as it may have changed when they did the maintenance. To check your language click on the Map and at the bottom of the pop up is the language setting.

Have you tried setting it, click on Save up top and then refresh your farm. Then see if it stays changed.

Since the last release the 15th my harvest partner and I are having problems. When the farm we are on reconnects to the server one of us disappears. We have to go out and close our browsers to find each other again. It has been happening every night since the release. Sometimes twice during the couple hours we are together.

Before the release when it would reconnect to the farm we would only get a talk bubble over the head of the last one of us who talked. Easy to get rid of...just talk again.

Was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem??? :confused:

This has to be done both ways. So since you have invited them then they need to invite you to be neighbors and you accept.

Since the last update, I have been experinencing a multitude of problems when I comes to hiring people to harvest and plow and being hired to harvest and plow. I have tried using different browsers, clearing the cache, reloading etc., but the problems still persist.

When I hire someone to harvest and plow my fields, some of the hirees are seeing only the harvest option and not the plow. I have to rehire them to plow, even though BOTH boxes were checked when I hired them the first time.

I hire someone to harvest my farm and they "disappear" and my farm appears that no one is working on it. I reload the farm and sometimes it will show that the person is still there as more fields have been harvested/plowed, sometimes it appears as if no one has been there. But then I will get a message from the person saying they are done harvesting and want to plow. SO, I know they are still there, but I can't see them, and can't rehire them. I am forced to hire someone else and this is embarrassing and I know that it is problematic for the first person I hired. I'm wondering if they have lost their connection to the server and are working invisibly, but that doesn't resolve the issue with crops not appearing to have been harvested at all.

The server keeps timing out and the only way I can get it to stop is to close my browser and then open it again and reload FT. This works for 30 minutes or so, and then the server starts timing out again. This only seems to happen when I am harvesting or storing items from my facilities.

Today, I harvested someone's farm and none of the products I earned while there showed up in my storage. I did all that work for nothing. I reloaded the game, and still no harvested products. Reloaded using a different browser and still no harvested products.

I hired 3 people to harvest 4 farms for me and none of the products I had grown and that they harvested, showed up in my storage.

Sometimes when I type in the chat section in the marketplace and hit enter/send, my message does not appear. I am NOT in full screen. This has happened a number of times in the last few days. I'm trying to communicate that I am available to work and can't.

This is most frustrating because between these problems, it is taking an extremely long time to tend my farms in the evening. I have other things to do with my time. I was wondering if others have been experiencing the same problems.

I too are having problems since the last update. I always meet my harvestinbg partner everyday to harvest, we usually have a chat for 40 mins or so before working, which normally isnt a problem but since the last update, exactly after half an hour, she disappears, and I do too to her, we have to refresh the play and find each other again. Tried different browsers, also we dont meet on the same accounts.

I use chrome which updates flash automatically but checked it just in case. I clear my cache daily.

Workers disappearing on my farm is the only problem I have.

Thank you for your farm link. There are a few things that could be causing it. The stacking could have corrupted your farm data, just too much information placed in the same spot. The amount of trees you have on one of the farms could also be just too much information to handle.

There are a couple of things you could try, i can't guarantee that they will work, but it's worth a try.

Clear the landing point of each farm so there is nothing there for an avatar to land on when they arrive. Change the default farm to one you haven't had problems with. If you lose sight of each other or your screen needs updating (what you see on your screen will be updated at a different rate to what the hired help sees) , both of you try clicking the diamond of the farm you are on to reload it. The person hired won't lose the hire request.

Are you aware of the option to multihire? If all else fails you could just hire a worker to do multiple jobs on multiple farms, if you wanted to, then you wouldn't have to worry about rehiring them.

Hopefully one of those will work for you.

Not sure if this is related to the missing people in the Marketplace, but I have my workers disappearing on me. One minute I'm talking to them then this happens in the chat window:
* Connecting to town mainframe (WF37) ...
* Connected to mainframe.
And my worker disappears and we can't talk to each other anymore. I've tried reloading the game, jumping to a different farm and coming back, but nothing seems to work. It's like we are on different game servers. My worker can continue to work, but I feel they might think I'm rude for just disappearing in the middle of a conversation. Plus, I can't give them instructions or try to rehire them for something I forgot because I don't have any way of sending them a message.

Sorry, I must have read a different section of this listing. So I am not alone with this problem. Cleared cache, etc., using Chrome, using Vista...What other info do the devs need?

I don't know where to post this but where ever I am, either chatting with a neighbor, or hired a person, we both get booted off "WF40" . I am in the States and they are in Europe, being connected to main frame doesn't happen and we end up refreshing the farm.

We are forever apologizing to each other cause it looks like we left.

Since the upgrade I can not copy and paste in farm town without this obnoxious green line like box coming up on the screen and it wont let me paste until i have clicked paste about 4 times and I still get this green line. I like to type what jobs I will do in the market place and paste it each time I am ready to do another job, but since the upgrade it won't work, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do.

How long are you leaving it before repeating the same line? Quite some time ago, there was a block put on persistent C&P within the game to stop players 'spamming' the marketplace chat box too often.

I can't confirm yet whether or not this has been tightened up in the last release, but if it has, there's no way around it.

Check your language and make sure it is set right. You can find that in your preferences (wrench) or in the map.

Are you trying to do this in full screen? If you are then it won't work . Try sending/chatting in normal screen.

Check your language settings are set to English. Reset your language. Many members have reported that their language had changed on its own. Even if it is already set to English try resetting it to English.

If you are having problems receiving messages check your list of blocked users (Account tab at the top of your game screen, then "Blocked users") to see if you blocked them by accident, if they are there just remove them.

I do know how to reload the farm but I can't tell if the person left or if it's a disconnection. I get no notification of any kind.

This is a new problem that just start in the last couple of days. Everything I have is up to date and I have my browser set to clear the cache automatically each time I close it. If this wasn't a new problem I wouldn't have mentioned it but it has never happened before in all the time I've been here.

On the hiring... It's not a delay or being ignored. I'll be at the market, never got the accept and yet I'll see that the person is already harvesting while I'm still at the market.

I'm gonna try to get across what's happening one more time. This does not happen in the market but on my farm or my friends farm.

It started with the last updates.

When we are harvesting for each other the farm will reconnect to the main frame all on it's own. This has never caused a problem before. But now one of us disappears. However the person it does not happen to is going on like nothing happened till we notice we are alone. The person it happens to either has to reload the farm or go all the way out and come back. Sometimes even to the point of having to shut our browser down and coming back.

We have always gotten the reconnection to the main frame while working. It shows up in red print on the chat screen. The only thing it caused was the talk bubble to reappear over the head of the last person who spoke. You just had to talk again and it disappeared.

We are not in full screen....we've done all the fixes like clearing cache etc.

If one of you has a temporary disconnection to the server, it can cause this, all you do is click the diamond of the farm you are on and it will reload that farm and they should reappear. If they don't, the error may have been at their end and they will have to reload, they won't lose the hire request. If this is happening on a regular basis, try clearing your browser caches, updating flash player.

If someone ignores or delays answering a work invite ( possibly because they are selling or answering messages and haven't seen it yet) there is little you can do. You could try waiting a few minutes, or go back to see if they arrived for work. It is up to the farmer you sent the request to, to answer it. If two arrive to do the job, it's up to them to share it.


Ok I tried this last night. It worked for me once. I came back and things were fine....my friend was working right along. Happened again and he totally disappeared. I reloaded....the farm was plowed a little more than before....He was gone. I sent him a message and he had moved on to my next farm he was hired for. He didn't even know I was gone save for my not talking to him.

I had to go out of FT.....shut down FB....and restart my browser to find him again. This happens quite a bit when we are on my farms.....not so much on his. And again I repeat this started happening with the last upgrade. :(

It's more annoying than anything...in fact we have started calling it "Getting Connected" LOL!!! :)

I hired a farmer this morning and he harvested. I hired him again for another farm and didn't get the acceptance box. I assumed I had lost him so I harvested myself. I got a message from him saying he was standing there on the farm. Neither of us were disconnected.

We both reloaded the farm and I still couldn't see him. We tried everything including completely reloading FT. I still couldn't see him and he couldn't see me.

He finally suggested that I go to the market and try to meet up with him there. Yup, I found him, hired him and from then on all went well.

This is happening frequently in the last few days.

The key is that I'm not getting the acceptance box to join the farmer.

I think it is getting worse!!! I did all the suggestions....I once again have the same issue. I hired my friend at her farm...chose to go to my farm with her ....can't see her but know she is working by the name of harvests I am getting. I would feel a lot better if someone would say they are working on this!! I agree with the others that are complaining on how this is happening. I did all the suggestions today and things were ok for a short time. I shouldn't have to do them multiple times a day for the game to work.

Are you trying to do this in full screen? If you are then it won't work . Try sending/chatting in normal screen. Also if you are trying to repeat exactly the same thing over and over again, that won't work either as there is a block in place to stop repeated "spamming" in the chat box too often.

If it's neither of those, check your language settings are set to English. Reset your language. Many members have reported that their language had changed on its own. Even if it is already set to English try resetting it to English.

when i am working on someone else's farm, my dialogue box has characters in it and i am unable to see what they are saying to me. is there a way to fix this?

it has been happening for a couple weeks where i can't see the people I hire or the work they are doing then I end up hiring someone thinking they left or got booted to find out now I have more than one person doing the work.

So what is up, I can't keep cleaning out my catche etc. without getting any results. There are still invisibility issues and the big thing to me is that some of my farms are more likely to have the problem than others...or at least I can see and talk at one but not at another.

I have a problem with helping a neighbour design his farm. One or other of keeps vanishing from his farm...
either I cant see him or he cant see me..
and the things that I have moved for him...haven't,...
