Ok guys, I'm prepared to be corrected, and I know my memory aint what it used to be but.......
Things I know for sure:

I joined facebook in 2007, I even have an exact date thanks to my email saving lol
One of, if not THE first game I started playing was Farmtown, and I distinctly recall waiting FOREVER for the flowers to arrive

I admit, I got bored of the game because once you got to level 35 (I think) there was nothing after that..... and so stopped playing for a while

I lost my job in March 09, and so started spending more time on facebook again, and rediscovered the game had totally changed - facilities, additional farms etc

with many thanks to Double T he's confirmed I started again on March 26th 09, but that the game started early Feb 09.......
That CAN'T be right because I remember playing MUCH earlier than that..... I'm sure I can..... I'm absolutely positive of it
In fact, if I'm wrong, you can have my children hahahahaha

So, my question is can anyone actually remember WHEN it all started?

Or am I just losing my marbles again?

1. Double T is female

2. the levels way back when went up to level 34

3. The store said the flowers would be released in 2 weeks. Took much longer! lol

4. The game started early Febuary 2009.

5. You owe me some children :p:D

Or am I just losing my marbles again?Hi , I may be able to assist with the confusion:-

There are 24 Hours in a real life day

There are 20 hours in a Farm Town day

Therefore there are 1,460 hours unaccounted for, in a real life year,... if you divide that by 20 hour F/T days that means there are 73 extra days in a F/T year (giving a total of 438 days in a year.

This mean that, even if you have only been playing for 18 months real time you have actually been playing for around 21 months in F/T time...

No wonder you are confused :(

I hope I was able to help with your confusion..... Tony :)

I admit it, I was tempted to work out how many FT days i had worked, but seeing as it's the green furry one's latest confusion puzzle, i will now hand it on to my other half to confuse him instead hehehe :)

update: sheesh :eek: i thought he'd be ages sorting that one out. He's worked it out quicker than i can update this post...... 372 normal days......446 FT days............ question is, do i attempt to try and work it out myself to see if he's right ?

Add to that the fact that we were all "born" in Farmtown sometime in the last 21 months, so our FT lifespan is actually at least 12 times faster than real life... I'm 53 in RL, so if my avvie is the same age as me, or even, flattering her a little, say, 39, she has grown to adulthood in a year and 9 months, real time, or, with Tony's additional 20%, she's aged 39 years in 2 years and five weeks.... so youj can see why FT time flies the way it does.

I hope this clears up any confusion.:D

And don't forget the proportion of our huge heads to our tiny bodies... that, too, would tend to throw our metabolisms into a gear unknown in the real world... I can see we're going to need a quantum physicist for this one... Is there a scientist in the house?

Not sure when I first tried FT since fun stuff doesn't have to be kept track of and I do enough of that in my RL business. Before FT I had a go at, of all things, Barn Buddy (first farm FB ap I tried) because a friend was playing it. Then FV for the same reason. Have long since dropped both. The same friend who used to do Barn Buddy posted an invite to FT and so, just for the heck of it, I gave it a try and found that unlike the other farm games, there was an element of "reality" in FT -- the look of things, the absence of "silly" popups and build this-build that and found this-found taht stuff, the flexibility in doing layouts, even on one farm. Only online game, other than Bejeweled, that I've stuck with. Big Fish had a few offered on FB at one time which I would like to have done, the mystery story ones, but they weren't compatible with the new Mac Operating System which I have and don't play well on my older computer.
It took me a while to go onto the Forum. Took a look early on and saw it required registering (another screen name and another password) and just didn't bother. Wish I had because it's such a great place to learn about the game and to meet some very nice people.

Ah nostalgia, how I love it so! However, now I feel the need for some verification too. I think I started my farm in early March 2009. I found the forum not long after as I was looking for info on tips and tricks. DT, can you tell me when I started farming?

I joined the forum early on but then spent months lurking. The wit and cleverness of the posters (DT, Snappy, Fee and even Canetti) overwhelmed and intimidated me for months.

Still farming and still lurking.........................

I don't know when I started my farm, although I know I was playing by Easter 2009 as I remember sitting for long hours during the holidays rearranging things. I didn't even lurk on the forum for a long time after that, and still only rarely post though.

It is so different now to how it used to be, there is so much more to it and it works a lot better.

Thank you for remembering. As for offense, nah, only meant as those 3 seemed to consistently have a thread going somewhere. You were a bit more sporadic as I recall.

DT, thanks for letting me know my groundbreaking date. Wow! So many memories through the months. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, can ever replicate the excitement and novelty of playing those first 3-4 months. Ahhhh!

Me too, Kim. When I found out it had only been running for 3 months before I joined, I was baffled to find all those people at the top levels already... they must have eaten, drank, breathed and slept raspberries to get there so fast!

This is making me crazy... Okay, This maybe a "figment of my imagination" but I remember when I started playing farmtown June 2008. I have fraternal boy/girl twins and this was the summer before they started 5th grade. I had to stop playing farmtown to volunteer full time in there classrooms. It was so hard to stop playing because I was so addicted. I was playing off and on and started playing seriously again this year... However, I was corrected and told I started in March 12, 2009? Anyways, even if I am wrong and thats okay but this is my story and I am sticking to it. :D

I know that I started playing late Feb 2009. I was laid off March 4th and started playing FT full time on March 6th. I was part of the whole mess up that locked out forum accounts at March 26th (right date??). I was already well addicted by the time I was laid off. So ... yeah. :) When I started playing, it was still invite only and I had a friend who was invited who invited me. Can't remember when it was made able to search and add without an invite?

I was lured into farmtown by a friend ( who long ago gave up) on the 1st June 2009. She told me she was setting her alarm to 3am so she could harvest grapes and I thought she had totally lost the plot ( excuse the pun). Within a few days we were txting each other to say our crops were ready so one or the other would race home and jump on the computer to harvest them. I never did set my alarm though. Now I am on level 160 with over 18 million XP's 'sigh'. I keep promising myself I will give up next week but then something new comes along.

Now I am on level 160 with over 18 million XP's 'sigh'. I keep promising myself I will give up next week but then something new comes along.

18 mil:eek: Coro you must be doing some new fantabulous desings! Link please:D

Okay, I seem to have a lot of different names, and most of them I tolerate .... but I think I draw the line at Happy Bottom... it sounds like a bad translation of a Japanese diaper rash cream.

1. Double T is female

2. the levels way back when went up to level 34

3. The store said the flowers would be released in 2 weeks. Took much longer! lol

4. The game started early Febuary 2009.

5. You owe me some children :p:D

Yep it was February cos I insisted for a while that I would not get sucked into an application... then, bang, I was hooked....

Hehehe :) Took me 3 months to find the forum...well rather to post on it. I too was a lurker :D

I think it took me even longer than that....

And don't forget the proportion of our huge heads to our tiny bodies... that, too, would tend to throw our metabolisms into a gear unknown in the real world... I can see we're going to need a quantum physicist for this one... Is there a scientist in the house?

I love science!! But can't be bothered tonight, it's too hot.

It so does!! Just like "Good music to you" which I found one time somewhere, and "Winnie the Eeyore" hehehe:cool:

Me too, Kim. When I found out it had only been running for 3 months before I joined, I was baffled to find all those people at the top levels already... they must have eaten, drank, breathed and slept raspberries to get there so fast!

There WERE no raspberries at the beginning! They came in much later! I started playing in January or February 2009 (DT - do you know exactly when? I guess this forum came on-line on 9 Feb?) - and goodness was it annoying when people started to plant raspberries and rake in the XPs we had all waited days to get together...

Not too much later actually. Razzies were released around June 7 2009.

If you would like to know when you started please post a link to your farm in the following thread....

No worries - I just remember all the complaints on the forum about these upstarts having it so easy with their raspberries - and before that with the grapes. (Nothing changes! :) )
