The new version 3.0 of Myspace has reduced the number of Top friends to 8 (This was not done by Farm Town).

ATTEMPTING TO GET FARM TOWN FRIENDS IN YOUR FIRST 20 FRIENDS
● If you have 20 or less Farm Town friends in your first 20 friends you will have full use of game functions.
● Non Farm Town friends in your top 8 should be removed.
● Any of your Farm Town friends that are #9 through 20 friends will remain your neighbors.
● Find Farm Town friends who are after #20 friend and put them in any empty spot in top 8.
● If you can get 10 Farm Town friends in your first 20 friends you will be able to hire to plow.
● If you cannot get 15 Farm Town friends in your first 20 friends, upgrading to Farm # 3 can be done with Farm Cash.

SENDING FARM TOWN NEIGHBOR REQUESTS
It is recommended you add neighbours before you send any gifts to anyone for the day.
Only ONE neighbor request can be sent per day.
● Send neighbor requests through the neighbors bar in the Farm Town chat area. (NOT the My Neighbors on the tool bar)
● Click the left blue arrow to scroll to an empty box that says, "Add Neighbor" and click it.
● A pop up will ask, "Would you like to reserve farms in the town for your friends and add them as your neighbors?".
Click the green circle to add a neighbor.
● A new screen will say, "Select friends to add as your neighbours".
You will see only your Top 20 Myspace friends. Only choose ONE person and send the request.
● Now go to your game screen and click the "My Neighbors" tab on the upper tool bar and send the same person a neighbors request.

JUST REMEMBER...
● You must also be in your friends first 20 Myspace friends for the request to work.
● Your friend must send you a return neighbors request using the same steps you used.
● Only send one friend request per day then send gifts afterwards.

My advise at this point would be to..

Firstly, get the current FT players you know are still using the game and send a mass email to all your friens explaining you are having FT friend issues and to ask them to have patience until you figure things out.

Secondly, Do Not randomize your friends list. Get active FT friends in your Top 8 Friends. (If any of your FT friends are in your first #9 thru #20 friends DO NOT MOVE THEM.)

Thirdly, any FT friends that are #21 or further back...try to get them in your Top 8. By doing so, any FT friends #13 to #20 might get knocked out of position.
At this point it's a juggling situation.

Your main goal is to get at least 10 FT friends in your top 20 friends spots to be able to hire others to plow for you.

If you can get 15 neighbors in your top 20 friends then upgrading to farm #3 will be possible, otherwise Farm Cash will be necessary to purchase the upgraded farm.

I did hear from Ali Tahmasbi the Myspace friends list developer who claimed there will be some changes to the Myspace friends list (he did not specifiy what the changes would be though). So let's keep our fingers crossed.

Not sure still without randomizing how to move anybody else into position. Would it help to do it temporarily until they get into position and then reinvite my neighbors? I think it would be a whole lot easier if you can access ALL your friends on My Space to install Farm Town and become neighbors the way it works on Facebook. I enjoy playing Farm Town, however that pleasure is hampered by not being able to add neighbors

Im saying I have the $$$$$$$ I want to buy the 3rd farm Im land locked & no poss neighbors so I dont do the my space Farm town for this reason on Face book I have 150 neighbors not too many people my age do my so Im dropping my space

All of these are from Dec. 09 and I have been trying to get more than 3 to show on my bar below the chat box....I have over 20 neighbors yet I can't see names of those but 8 when I click the my neighbors tab....It does show that I have a neighbor with no photo, no name. no exp, no level, or no cash, I have followed [U]everything I have found here to fix this and it is the same.

That's why I use FaceBook. Farm Town is really a joke on Myspace. The version on FaceBook is so much easier to do and better overall.

Sorry but Myspace and Facebook are 2 different platforms so you can't move your farm.

It is so heart breaking for this to happen after an investment has been made.....I have followed everything I have found to get this fixed and at the end of the day it hasn't improved at all.......I would love to go to FB after visiting and finding none of the problems here but finding it to be so much better in many ways....Why can't the sane be for both regardless of the platforms....

Thank you Roxie, I sent you a friend request the same day this was posted.....I would love to get my friends and neighbors back.....Some have left the game already and some who haven't invested money went to Face Book....I miss them all and want to get as many as I can back before they leave as well....I have 3 on my bar beneath the chat box and of the 3 only 2 are active.....

Well I had planned to spend 150.00 twice a month until I tried to send a gift to a neighbor and the only options I had were the 3 on my bar and 2 of those I had already sent 50+ total in gifts each and the other (who never plays) well doesn't deserve a gift.....I have quit buying the farm cash until Im sure I can use it because I have almost everything that I can get with FC and all I want to own atm so I used it to expand my farms. I was really ready to mark it as a lesson learned and quit but I'm soooo hoping Roxie has some magic to use........Hang in there and maybe our Farm Town will be as nice as that on FB.....

I would like to know the answer to that question as well......I made an account on FB just to be sure what I had been told was true and it is.......I especially like the options of sending a gift from the page you see when you click the accept and also hiring others to work in any factories you have like cheese etc. ready. It gives exp. as well as a certain amount of the item to the worker which can help so much. I have a friend and neighbor who does choose that and it appears on the FB wall for those who chooses to use it.....You can only work once a day per factory per farm but for me I love it and benefited so much from using it.....Im sure SlashKey has so much daily to deal with just to keep the game playable period but I do hope they will give to those who play through Myspace as much consideration as those who play through Facebook.......I mean the only difference is which site we chose to use and if I had known facebook had FT I would have started playing there but I didn't so now I need help getting the issues fixed that isn't allowing me to enjoy the game as I once did......So I ask the question also......
Will the players using Myspace to play Farmtown have the same choices as those who play using Facebook......I have seen the gift option a few times (it didn't work but I tried it) but it has been removed. I enjoy the game and have no problems purchasing Farm Cash which I'm sure helps to finance the game and I feel those who are able to do the same should. We aren't required to pay to play and it is such a nice game and it's impossible for SlashKey to provide us the game at no cost to them so yes those who are able to buy Farm Cash should do so periodically which would allow them options which they must pay for.......I was upset when I made my first post because I don't want to lose another friend and I did that day so I wasn't happy at all but I understand it isn't easy to do what they are doing and I don't want to sound like I have never enjoyed the game ( I have a-lot) I am asking help bringing my Farmtown family back home and when it is possible for them I would love to have the same features as Facebook.

That is so not fair or is it true.....I will agree FB version has features we on Myspace would love to have but to say it's a joke well that isn't true or is it fair to say.....I had no complaints At All until the problems with losing neighbors happened and for me I lost none until MYSPACE decided to change and tried to make everyone see it as an improvement when in reality it was such a mistake and if we had been given a choice never would have chosen it so to say it's a joke should possibly be used as defining the "New Version" of Myspace not Farm Town.......

Try re-adding your neighbors from the neighbors bar in the game.
You will click a blank "add neighbor" box and it will give you the option of adding those on your Myspace friends list. Try doing just a couple at a time and see if that helps. If you get all your neighbors back...Delete all the 0xp, 0$, no name neighbors in your "my neighbors" tab.

Since the Friends list change on Myspace, using the "ingame friends bar" is the only way I add friends to the game now. The "my neighbors" tab doesn't seem to work on Myspace. Yes, it will be a bit of a pain and time consuming but, it's worth getting your neighbors back.

WOW I see the problem with neighbors isn't new as I first thought but has been an issue for a very long time.......I hadn't experienced any problems until this latest version of Myspace and now to read the latest about even more changes which are likely to be much worse for those of us who do use Myspace to enjoy the games......Im not sure why if something isn't broken try to fix it because usually this is what happens.......The new only creates problems when the old was working........I would love to know who to contact on Myspace and let them know just how I feel and then pass it to all my friends who feel as strong as I do about how their changes effect everyone who use the site in many ways.........So if anyone has a name or names and their contact info I would love to have it....

So let's start with your friends list......
1. Take out any people in your Top 8 that are NOT FarmTown players.

2. Find your most important FarmTown neighbors and or friends that are NOT in your first 20 friends on your friends list and add them to the blank spaces in your Top 8 friends.

3. At this point you should have 8 Top friends who are all FarmTown friends.

4. Now you may want to make a list of the FarmTown neighbors who are in your friends # 9 through #20. (FarmTown will only recognize your first 20 friends on your Myspace list)

5. If you have a total of 10 FarmTown friends in your first 20 friends....
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HIRE OTHERS TO WORK FOR YOU (10 friends required)

6. If you have a total of 15 FarmTown friends in your first 20 friends.....
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UPGRADE YOUR FARMS (15 friends required)

You DO NOT need 20 friends on FarmTown except for the Trophy which at this point is not important.

If you can get 15 FarmTown friends in your first 20 friends you can play FarmTown with full functions.

Give these steps a try and let me know how far you got and how many FarmTown friends you got in your first 20 friends.

First, on the pictures of friends below the game when playing, three of my friends do not show up. This has been since the change on myspace. Also several neighbors do not show when i click on the 'my neighbors' tab. the space for them is there, but it shows nothing in the spaces. Of the three friends who do not show up on the pictures below the game, I can send gifts to them, but I can't water for them. I checked all my setting, and everything on my computer gets cleaned up several times a day. Is there another setting I don't know about? It also keeps putting someone in my 'blocked users' list and I keep clicking un block. When I go back, it's blocked again. No idea who it is because the picture doesn't show there either. Please help me get these things fixed.

I've been on the game for two years now. I know this stuff. When it happened yet again, I figured I better let you know. It all started when myspace changed, and I did have to play with my friends in myspace to get my FT neighbors all to the top. One that still isn't in the pictures below the game was a friend long before the change over. At least I can water for her now. But that isn't even all the problems. Even if I click 'save' for the pending changes, very often when I change farms, or 'go home' from market or work, my coins will drop, or my exp points will drop. Firstly, what system and browser are you using to play the game? (Please let me know so I can be of further assistance to you.)

Secondly, always make sure you clear your browser cache:

(Look at the Website Storage Settings Panel on the right side of the page. Next, click "Delete All Sites". Then Click "Confirm".)

So let's start with your friends list......
1. Take out any people in your Top 8 that are NOT FarmTown players.

2. Find your most important FarmTown neighbors and or friends that are NOT in your first 20 friends on your friends list and add them to the blank spaces in your Top 8 friends.

3. At this point you should have 8 Top friends who are all FarmTown friends.

4. Now you may want to make a list of the FarmTown neighbors who are in your friends # 9 through #20. (FarmTown will only recognize your first 20 friends on your Myspace list)

5. If you have a total of 10 FarmTown friends in your first 20 friends....
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HIRE OTHERS TO WORK FOR YOU (10 friends required)

6. If you have a total of 15 FarmTown friends in your first 20 friends.....
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UPGRADE YOUR FARMS (15 friends required)

You DO NOT need 20 friends on FarmTown except for the Trophy which at this point is not important.

If you can get 15 FarmTown friends in your first 20 friends you can play FarmTown with full functions

7. Try re-adding your neighbors from the neighbors bar down by the chat section in the game.

8. You will click a blank "add neighbor" box and it will give you the option of adding your friends on your Myspace friends list. Try doing just a couple at a time and see if that helps. You should get your neighbors back.

Since the Friends list change on Myspace, using the "ingame friends bar" (at the bottom by the chat section) is the only way I add friends to the game now. The "my neighbors" tab doesn't seem to work on Myspace.
Yes, it will be a bit of a pain and time consuming but, it's worth getting your neighbors back.

The new version 3.0 of Myspace has reduced the number of Top friends to 8 (This was not done by Farm Town).

ATTEMPTING TO GET FARM TOWN FRIENDS IN YOUR FIRST 20 FRIENDS
● If you have 20 or less Farm Town friends in your first 20 friends you will have full use of game functions.
● Non Farm Town friends in your top 8 should be removed.
● Any of your Farm Town friends that are #9 through 20 friends will remain your neighbors.
● Find Farm Town friends who are after #20 friend and put them in any empty spot in top 8● If you can get 10 Farm Town friends in your first 20 friends you will be able to hire to plow.
● If you cannot get 15 Farm Town friends in your first 20 friends, upgrading to Farm # 3 can be done with Farm Cash.

SENDING FARM TOWN NEIGHBOR REQUESTS
It is recommended you add neighbours before you send any gifts to anyone for the day.
Only ONE neighbor request can be sent per day.
● Send neighbor requests through the neighbors bar in the Farm Town chat area. (NOT the My Neighbors on the tool bar)
● Click the left blue arrow to scroll to an empty box that says, "Add Neighbor" and click it.
● A pop up will ask, "Would you like to reserve farms in the town for your friends and add them as your neighbors?".
● Click the green circle to add a neighbor.
● A new screen will say, "Select friends to add as your neighbours".
You will see only your Top 20 Myspace friends. Only choose ONE person and send the request.
● Now go to your game screen and click the "My Neighbors" tab on the upper tool bar and send the same person a neighbors request.

JUST REMEMBER...
● You must also be in your friends first 20 Myspace friends for the request to work.
● Your friend must send you a return neighbors request using the same steps you used.
● Only send one friend request per day then send gifts afterwards.

This is insane. 11 of my Farmtown neighbors somehow migrated out of my top 20 and i'm down to 9 friends now. Is there a fix coming to this at all? Other than my top 8 i can't move any of my friends around in my list now and my top 8 are all Farmtown neighbors. I quit this game about a year ago because of this problem and recently started playing again and now it has started again. Its such a great game. Why is it so difficult to fix the neighbor issues that have plagued this game from the beginning?

Your post while well thought out does little to help with any friends that have somehow migrated outside of the top 20. Is there a way to move them back? All of my top 20 were Farmtown players and now i've got other ms friends. My top 8 are all FT players. The other 12 aren't. Can I get FT friends back in those other 12 slots?

Let me start out by telling you that Farm Town (SlashKey) has NO control over the Myspace friends list situation. That is COMPLETELY an issue with Myspace.
The Farm Town Developers are up against a brick wall at this point with all the ongoing changes with Myspace.

Everyone's top 20-40 friends were thown all over the place when Myspace forced everyone to switch to the BETA v3.0 program.

Whatever you do....DO NOT RANDOMIZE your friends list.

I've worked on this for a very long time and there is a way to "toggle" your friends around to the top 8 area back and forth. It is time consuming but, if you give it time and a good effort I can help you get 10-15 Farm Town friends back in your top 20 friends area.

It's a good idea to write down the names of the people you know were your Farm Town friends and/or neighbors so you can work from that list to make things easier.

Some friends may have disappeared because they may have quit the game due to all the giltches on the new Myspace.

If you can send me your Myspace ID then I'll be more than happy to take a look at your friends list and work at it with you to get 15 neighbors back.

I lost all neighbors except 3 with change I can not add friends no invite them to be neighbors due to 8 top friends limit plus friends who play farm town do not even show up in friends only people who do not play - dislike face book change it stinks

if you go to the mobile myspace (m.myspace.com) and add your friends (that u want for neighbors) one at a time to your top friends it will actually show that u have that many (20 or whatever) top friends and you will get your neighbors back. you may have to resend neighbor requests but they will b there...:)

I keep seeing in these posts that say we should juggle our friend list in myspace to get as many farm town neighbors in position’s 9 – 20 as possible, and right now the magic number seems to be a total of 15. How do you do that now that the changes at myspace have taken place?? I can not move my friends around at all other than adding and subtracting them to the top 8 (which by the way is a HUGE *** joke and a poor decision on the part of myspace). Does the entire list change when you add and delete from the top 8???

I guess the biggest question of all is why are there two separate games between myspace and facebook? Also, since the makers of farm town know that myspace is not going to make any concessions for us as players, why don’t they make a few concessions to help us out? If nothing else, at least allow the addition of neighbors to be as easy in myspace as it is in face book? I think that would make a lot of us extremely happy!

I only have 6 neighbours showing on my Myspace farmtown ladder, under the My neighbours tab have 20 neighbours, half of which are not on my friend list anymore but until 2 days ago they still all showed up on the ladder. All my MS friends play farmtown as I only use MS to play farmtown, so all that show up in the top 8 friends are FT players. Is there anyway to get them back showing in the game. I do have a FB farmtown and that appears as normal.

thats cause once you get your 8 neighbors or finangle the 20 we should be able to get - your not supposed to ever touch your top friends again.

Hey I just noticed something today that i never saw before on myspce:
When you click to go to "my friends" there is an option to show your
"TOP FRIENDS".
The top friends section now has 40 spots??????
We used to have 20 and then got reduced to 8 and now we have 40?
My original 20 neighbors now show up as top friends and i seem to have 20 mnore available spots but im afraid to touch anything untill i can get some kind of confirmation that my current top 20 wont get messed up.

Do we really have the ability to have 40 top friends and 40 neighbors on myspace farmtown?
