Some Issues And Solutions:

1. Why won't my plots stay plowed or planted? Try Clicking the Disc Icon before leaving any job to save any pending changes. Also, try clearing your browser's cache and macromedia cache files.

2. Why is my avatar following me around? Check your preference settings (the wrench) to make sure there is NOT a check mark beside "follow avatar".

3. Why can I work only one plot at a time? Check your preference settings (the wrench) to make sure there is NOT a check mark beside "wait for each plow/plant".

4. How do I get rid of the spaces between my plots? Delete any plots that have spaces on your farm. Go to your preference settings (the wrench icon) and make sure there IS a check mark beside "remove spaces between fields" and then plow.

I have got a 5x5 harvester but some times when I get hired to harvest some1 elses farm I can not use it. Any1 know the reason 4 this.

Everything should be fine unless it's a stacked or layered farm, then sometimes weird things can happen.

And as long as you have enough fuel.

I do have enough fuel so thats not the problem. It happens on normal farms as well as layered or stacked. It s just really annoying as it took me ages to save enough farm cash to get it, now I cant use it most of the time. Thanks any way for ur help

This is now happening on multiple farms. It started happening right after I purchased a 100,000,000 upgrade and had a hired combine working on my farms. I ran out of coins and had to sell items for them to continue.

Try clearing your cache and macromedia files. Exit your browser. If you ran out of coins, that would explain why it wouldn't stay plowed.

Actually it would be since the combine was release. If you harvest and then plow with the separate tools then you will see no cost except for gas to harvest, when you start plowing it is costing you 20 coins for each plot. Now since we have the combine you are seeing all of this cost at once as you harvest/plow. So you use 1 gas per plot and pay 20 coins to plow per plot. So for the combine (5x5) you see 500 coins cost and your gas goes down 25 units per one click. If you use the harvest/plow/plant combine then the cost goes up to include the cost for 25 seeds.

I wanted to be more up to date working on other people's farms and bought in addition to my 3x3 Harvester the 4x4 Harvester and kept it in storage. When I tried to harvest on other people's farms it never showed up and I ended up doing it by hand.....what did I do wrong or is it a glitch?

If you where multi hired you will not see the tool at the bottom of the screen you will have to click on the tool box and the arrow then you will see the harvester and be able to use it.

To add to that reply... And if you're only hired to harvest (or any single job), your tool will not be found in the expanded yellow tool box. You will find it, instead, as an icon (picture) on the brown area to the right of the farm chat box. There's a glitch with this. Whether you own the 4 x 4 Harvester or the 5 x 5 Harvester, the icon you'll see to click will be the same -- "16x" will be the label. But when you start harvesting, you'll get the correct number of squares outlined -- whether 16 or 25 -- depending on which harvesting tool you own.

Did you try clearing both your caches before planting again ? If not please try that. You'll find the links to instructions, if you need them, in the 1st post on page 1 of this thread.

Not sure i'm understanding you. You have to be hired by the farm owner to harvest their farm. The only posts that go out are to work facilities or send requested gifts/ingredients/claim crop bonuses. Do you mean, you are trying to work their facilities? If that's it, two things to try...

double check all aspects of the time and date are still correct on your computer


try clearing your caches, close browser, then try clicking on a new post. Instructions if you need them are in the 1st post on page 1.

Harvesting is not posted on Facebook. Do you mean when they post for work in their facilities?
Check your date and time on your computer and make sure they are correct. If this is off you can get strange problems.
Also, how long after the posts are you going to try and work?

Which trees in particular? I chopped my trees and nothing was different, went straight to stumps.

Oak, pine and cinnamon. Worked fine when I chopped them. When someone called Margaret chopped them it did not work. Also did not work with someone else earlier in the week.

What the worker receives comes from the mayor and not out of your crop. So either way you get the same amount. The difference is that the crop a worker harvests for you is worth more if you are going to sell the crop.

I have just started back playing after almost 6 months away and a lot changed while I was gone. I've been working on the premise that the highlighted number in the top left box for each type of seed means how many days of production are in storage.

I evidently am incorrect as to what that number means. My wheat seed says 7 (black) and I have no wheat now because I missunderstood what this number meant.

Coffee too is the same way. I can't produce if I have no raw material.

Can you explain to me, exactly what this number is?

I know I was trying to follow it with sugar, but some production uses the raw form and some the granulated form ... I know it is inaccurate for sugar if the number does mean, days in storage.

I need help to better understand the number coding and appreciate any help given.

Has absolutely nothing to do with days of harvest, etc. Hoover over the seed icon and it will show you how many units are needed for the next belt. Wheat is a 2 day crop....all crops stay in storage until you utilize them in a facility or sell them in the marketplace.

What message does the farm owner get, when they try to hire you to do both jobs at the same time? Can you please try clearing your cache and macromedia files, close browser, and reload game. This will clear out any old data related to FT and force new info to be stored. Instructions , if you need them, can be found........

Was the one where they didn't show up maybe a multi-hire? If so your tools will be in the yellow toolbox and not showing out like they do for single hire.

the yellow box on the right...that's what i click on. It is hire for harvest and plow. I just was hired for that and it worked, had both my 5x5 to use. Then i went back to market and was hired harvest and plow again, and when i got there.....no 5x5

Delete the harvested fields - it would seem that there is something underneath them .... when you delete and refresh - you will see your 'other crops' underneath. You will only be able to plow once these have been harvested.

Although the trees were showing and we were chopping them down, a message appeared and said Already Done. We noticed that we were not getting any coins for chopping this bit so we downed tools and went home. Neither of us had done this portion.
What do you think caused this notice, please?

Where are you clicking to get the bigger machine? You should be clicking in the extended toolbox (yellow toolbox above the Map) to pick up the tool.
You do need to have the Farm Cash tools (4x4 or 5x5) to use them on other's farms.

I am having problem when using my flash new combine machine on other farms. When harvesting/plowing, a box comes up with eg. "Loading Peanuts", or whatever the crop happens to be. The box stays there for the entire harvest and the only way of working is to go full screen and pan around the box to avoid it.
This does not happen on my own farm, just when working for others, and only when using the combine. Not when using any of the other tools.
Is anyone else having the same problem?

I've only seen that once, and it was when hired with a load of other people also using combines, so i wasn't surprised. If that's what happened and it's only happened on the odd occasion, i wouldnt worry . If it's a regular thing on a solo hire then i would try clearing caches, see if that helps.

What else have you tried ? After deleting the macromedia file for FT did you go back to the adobe site and try upping the storage allowed to 1MB?Updating flash player for the browser you use? Tried another browser?

Taking the combine out of storage, save game, reload and put it back into storage, sometimes resets it, might be worth a try.

Each time I cut down my trees, I look at the stumps, and they always says they are (f).

For the last couple of days, my fully grown trees have not been (f) - even though their stumps were.

Oh sure, occasionally a patch might slip through in the past. But now that we're told what field is fertilized in the map-grid. I'm confused how this is happening.

Unless, 1 - there is a problem with the farm-grid or 2 - trees aren't able to be (f) anymore, and the stump(f) is just a leftover from better days.

edit: This should say: Chopable trees. Maple, Oaks, Cedar, and Ebony.

Same as #2 above... fert. the farm, they both showed (f). Left the farm... after the reload, neither shows (f).

As far as I know, as long as the tree or crop grew even 1% while the field was fertilized, your yield should be doubled. I should probably double check on this as you seem the type to rip out my throat if I'm wrong..

It happened again today. It seems to be confirmed on my farm, this time farm 1.

1. My cedar trees were (f).
2. Then the farm became unfertilized.
3. I did not chop the trees.
4. I fertilized the farm.
5. I reloaded that farm.
6. The cedar trees, were now regular, not fertilized.

7. First time for the real test:
a. I checked my storage to see how many items I had, 70,810 cedar log piles.
b. I chopped one cedar tree, then checked my storage again, 70,812 cedar log piles.
c. I reloaded the entire game, and checked again (70,812).
d. Chopped 1 more cedar tree (that showed not fertilized). 70,814

8. So... based on this (I'll do the same inventory test on Maples, Pine and Oaks, next time those farms fall out of fert.)...

It looks like this problem is graphically based only.

Sorry yes meant haven't. It isn't a system wide problem. In fact very few have reported having any problem with it. If the developers fix something then they have been very good about posting that it is fixed in whatever the last release announcement is and nothing has been added about fixing anything on this.

Try deleting those plots, saving the game, then reloading, if they come back, delete them again.... repeat that until you just have grass after refreshing, then you should be alright to plow new fields again.

You have to use the chain saw to harvest those and the time to harvest is 2 days like the cinnamon.

I moved all my chopped trees to Farm 11. This morning I cut down all and an hour later they were back. Is this a glitch? I did not check to see if I got additional credit for cutting them down again.

This is an ongoing programming glitch.

Is it not fixed.

I had Maple Tree(F), on farm 9. I let them sit. The farm was fertilized. Enough time went by, and the farm became unfertilized; So I fertilized again.

The Displayed trees are now Maple Tree, not Maple Tree (F). I cut a few of them down, and got 2 log credit in my inventory. I reloaded the game, cut a couple more, for 1 log credit for each cut. I visited all my farms, to check their status - all show (F), although some are in stump form.

I came back to farm 9, checked inventory, and cut a couple trees, and got 2 log credit for each.

note: after cutting trees I always verify the stumps show (f). Every day (several times a day), when I log to each farm if they are not (f) I do so. There is zero chance that my farm was not fertilized as these trees were growing. They were fulling grown as were (f).

Several of my farms have flowers that SHOW 100% ready. They can not be harvested, either with the scythe or the flower harvesting tool.. try using the tool and get the 'this is not ready to harvest" error... but it shows at 100% when I mouse over it. Just noticed this today.

Do the flowers look ready to harvest? If they do you should be able to harvest them. If they don't look fully grown and you know they are due to be ready soon, try reloading in a few mins, it just may need a few mins for the data to catch up.

It happens many times to many people. It used to happen to me, until I updated Flash and I avoid farms with "other movement" on them like sharing chopping trees as I too still freeze. It's the farm, not you.

I discovered that the crop that erases my fields is sugar cane. I can plant anything else, but if I try to plant sugar cane it erases my fields comp,etey and will not allow me to replow them. A crop if planted on a farm showing as fertilized will stay fertilized until it is harvested even if the farm shows it isn't fertilized any more because it's 3 days have run out. I have planted as late as 30 mins before the farm's fertilizing ran out and the crop stays fertilized until I harvest.

Did the crops not make it to your harvest product storage? Was the filter set to "All" or "from plants" when you looked? If they are not showing up there, try the suggestions in the 1st post on page 1.

Please click on the following link. This is an known issue. Currently the only way around this is to use the combine, or hire someone who has one. When they have been harvested you'll need to refresh/reload/leave the farm and return to see the crops in storage.

If the what you were trying to harvest showed "not ready" then you won't be able to harvest it. What was it you were trying to harvest, crops, flowers trees? Did the farm owner try refreshing their farm to see if the data they were seeing was still showing correct?

Yes. Check your preferences (wrench up top) and make sure Follow Avatar is not checked.

It is a glitch they are working on and it is the red sprinkler that is causing this. If you have a combine then that will harvest them ok and you will get the product. If you don't have a combine then find a neighbor or buddy that has one and get them to harvest them for you.

Sounds like you are somehow double clicking. If you are using a laptop touchpad then this is real easy to have happen. If it is a wireless mouse then the battery could be getting weak.

Click on the 'wrench' at the top of the screen and make sure you do not have 'follow avatar while walking' box checked. Hope that helps, happy farming!

Are you farms very busy, as in a lot of animals on the farms, layered or staggered fields, trees, flowers or buildings stacked on top of fields? These can all cause problems for workers.

Have you updated flash player to the current version?

I had a look i don's see any obvious reasons as to why u should be losing workers.

try what i suggested above with flash player.

if you would like i can meet you on your farm and you could hire me to harvest and chop your trees to see if it works ok.

Your link is fine now. Like Al I had a look and don't see anything that should cause you to lose them. Maybe they are leaving because you don't have "enough" work for them or maybe they have all had problems of their own.

Only tools that you buy for Farm Cash can be used when hired. None of the Coin purchased tools can be used.

When you are hired then either look in place of the gift box for the tool or if it isn't there then it will be in the extended (yellow)toolbox above the map. Those tools do have to be in storage and not on one of your farms to be used for hire.

I have 2 neighbours who are new to the game. They have bought harvesters and plowers but cannot use them. One has the 2x2 and the 4x4 harvester and the 2x2 plower. She cannot use them on other farms even though they are in her storage. The other one has the 2x2 plower and cannot use it on other farms either. Was this crop irrigated?
If you have a combine (either one) try that. If not try getting a neighbor who has one to try with theirs.

I am guessing you mean this was done by someone you hired. Your internet connection wouldn't have anything to do with it, however they may have had problems with their connection or thought they had gotten everything. What tool were they using if any?

I've reported this before but don't see any 'fix'. When I harvest flowers I get half way through them and then get "already done". This cost me an entire farm of flowers and it's a repeat issue!! The flowers were wilted/dead so I watered them and then started harvesting. I'm really getting tired of losing my flowers. :-(

Yes, it was someone I hired from the marketplace. She just had the regular (one at a time) harvest and plow tools. Everything seemed to be going fine and then suddenly her avatar froze for a while before she disappeared. This is happening on this farm almost every time I hire from the marketplace. I didn't get a chance to ask her if there was a problem or not. Don't know if she would have even seen a message in the chat box or not. It hasn't happened yet when hiring neighbors to work. But, most of the time I have to hire from the marketplace. Hasn't happened on my other farm at all.

A farmtown day is 20 hours so a one day crop will be ready 20 hrs after plant, a 2 day crop will be ready 40 hrs after planting and so on.

I don't need help but just had the weirdest thing happen and am wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I was on one of my farms harvesting trees with the big shaker. All of a sudden it got a mind of its own and started running around the farm highlighting trees. I kind of got it back in control and then it started up again. I reloaded the farm and once again it went off on it's own. LOL

It seems to be okay now, although I'm not 100% sure.

When weirdness happens it always seems to be when they are working on an upgrade. Hmmmm?

You have always been charged for plowing. If you plow your own fields it is 20 coins. If you hire from the market it costs you 15 coins. If you hire a neighbor it costs you 10 coins.

If you don't have a list already of your FT neighbors, try creating one in Facebook. Then you would only have to enter the name for the list (one item).

I do know it cost more to hire from the market vs neighbors. I would also Like to know about the difference of ME doing my OWN farm an hiring neighbors to help, Is there a difference in what I get??

First thing is you do not get more crops when hiring as opposed to doing them yourself. What you do get is a higher value for that crop if you were to sell it in the market. If you are going to use the crop in facilities the higher value doesn't have any effect.
If you have buddys that are more willing to work then your neighbors maybe you should think about making those people your neighbors. I have done that with many of mine. We start out as buddys for hiring and end up becoming neighbors.

Half of it is plowed and when I try to plow the rest, or get someone else to plow it, it looks normal, xp's count up, coins go down then POOF!!!!!!! that part is back to harvested again. I would happily plow all day if the xps kept going up but they don't. I have cleared everything and tried a few times - any solution? Thank you.

Hello,

Try deleting all those fields that are misbehaving, save game, then reload. If more reappear just repeat the process until you are back to green. Then try plowing new fields. If that doesn't work and you continue to have problems, do come back and let us know.

When hired to harvest crops, you receive 25% of the selling price of the crop you harvest and 10% of the crops. Did you save the game before leaving the farm you were hired on?

You can try reloading FT and see if the coins tally corrects and the crops show up. Other than that, i would recommend the suggestions in the 1st post on page 1 of this thread to clear any old data that may have caused the problem.

If you are hired only for one job (plowing) then your tool should be located in place of the Gift Box and not in your extended tool box.

My crops are not disappearing but I am having trouble clearing my farm...there are a few fields that would not plant, plow or harvest without clicking over and over many times. I decided to clear the entire farm and start over, but those areas will not let me remove the fields now....i tried all three of my clearing tractors, reloading the farm etc...can anyone help with this problem?

You need the Tree Shaker tools or you can use the sickle (single harvest). The larger harvesters are only for crops and not trees.

I have been having trouble with flowers showing accurate harvest time. Ill go on my farms and they will say they have 1 minute to harvest...which never comes. Then another time Ill go there and they say they are ready...go hire someone to do them and they show not ready or even have had them say they have over a day to be ready....whats going on?

This is the second day this has happened. I am harvesting, or cutting trees, part way thru, i click on a tree and it says it is ready, chop it and this message pops up instead of the cash earned which says "Already Done". I go ahead and chop it, the tree goes away with the pop up and i get no payment. Whats up?

My mom Marjorie Mcnabb planted some crops that was suppose to take 3-4 days to be ready. She went on the next day and they were wilted. She is very upset and wants to know why that happened. This has happened to her on more then one occasion. She is ready to stop playing Farm Town altogether.:mad:

One thing to check is that the date and time is correct on the computer as incorrect time and date can affect the farm

Hello,

How many fields did you harvest? You receive 10% of the crops and 25% of the selling price of the crop you harvest. If it was red maple you harvested it would appear as "maple sap" in your storage.

I have done everything I can think of and even asked farmer friends how to harvest the maple tree. Finally I got an answer but it doesn't work for me,

They must have removed that in the last update. It was causing some problems because that option would change and suddenly people couldn't figure out why there screen was jumping. So by removing it and setting it as a default to not follow then no more problem.

Hello,

You just need to move the screen yourself. Use your mouse, left click and drag the screen in whichever direction you want to move it. You can also use the navigation tools to move/zoom etc...

I have the don't follow avatar option clicked but my avatar follows whatever I do. It's very clever really, going over available bridges etc...I can understand her going over the FT bridges but she even goes over ones I've made! That was not what the option did. If it was checked then the screen moved to follow what the avatar was doing. That option is no longer available.
Your avatar is following what you are doing because the avatar has to complete what you have clicked on for it to do. There is no option to freeze the avatar. However you do not have to wait until the avatar finishes. When you have finished clicking on what needs to be done, click the save button at top and move to another farm. The work will be completed.

As well as clearing browser cache, have you tried restarting your router or updating the flash player for the browser you use (unless it's chrome which has it's own built in)?

You could try using another browser, see if that works better for you. Some work better than others, it's a matter of finding one that suits you.

When you harvest your crops go into your storage. To get paid for the crop you will have to go to the market and sell that crop. That is the only way you get paid for harvesting.

So I'm not sure if these two issues are related or not. There have been a few occasions when I go to my farm, knowing that there are flowers to be harvested, but before I can do that, I need to irrigate them to bring them back to life. So I do, they show up ready to harvest, as they should be, and I harvest them. I check in my storage and see that in fact the harvests have been placed there, but when I go to reload my farm and then check the storage, all the flowers I just harvested are no longer in there, as if I had never harvested them, yet the flowers are now showing as having just been harvested and won't be ready for another 1.3 days. This has now happened 3 times.

Suggestions?

We Farm Cash tool owners paid for the ability to use our tools on others farms. Others worked hard and saved up their Farm Cash. I think its very fair.

This and other issues have been going on at least 3 days. I've cleaned my cashe and that didn't help. Nothing has helped. Having a problem on FB too. Maybe it's a FB problem. I've thought about going back in time (recovery) for my laptop, but doubt that would help. I've thought about deleting FB and re doing that but do not want to lose my FT stuff. Worked way too hard to get where I am there.
My flash updated a few days ago and i've deleted that and re downloaded it. didn't help.
Any ideas?

I did put in some dead trees for a fall/winter effect, but they were not bothering me up until this afternoon? and they have been there for months. Any ideas? Hi there,

There is no longer a "follow avatar" option in game preferences. Just use your mouse to click and drag the farm screen to the new position. Are you not able to do that?

The game is always being updated and new things tested, we can't be specific on exactly when those are being done. Sorry.

I have 2 farms with crops that went to waste. I have plowed them under 3 times now, saved after plowing, cleared my cashe, deleted my cookies, HELP PLEASE!!! lol I can't get rid of them!
