This thread is for reporting problems concerning any of the tools or fuel. Please read the following information BEFORE posting in this thread. Thank you!

Important Things To Remember About The Tools On Your Farm

1. You will only be able to use the tools you purchase with farmcash when hired to work on someone else's farm. For Example: The 4x4 tools, the chainsaw, the tree shaker etc.

2. To use the tools on any farms but your own, the tool needs to be placed in your storage. Once at the farm you are going to be working on, click on the tool's icon located in the tool bar.

3. If your tools are behaving 'funny', for example, the screen is jumping around, check your preference settings (the wrench) to make sure there is NOT a check mark beside "wait for each plow/plant" or "follow avatar"

Important Things To Remember About Fuel

1. The fuel station will gather ALL your fuel and add it to your tank when you refuel. Meaning, the station will take the fuel from your gift box AND from your storage.

2. When you refuel, the Fuel Station will REPLACE the fuel you currently have rather than ADD TO IT. So, make sure all your fuel is used up before refueling.

3. You only will be able to refuel once a day. Click on the fuel station icon and at the bottom of the pop-up you will notice that it tells you when you can refuel again. Example: You will be able to refuel in 5 hours and twenty minutes.

I purchased the 4 x 4 Harvester, however when I try to use it whilst harvesting crops via the Market Place I get an message saying You Need a 4x4 Harvester to use this tool!

The harvester appears in the box next to the storage and is on a farm and I have fuel.

Any ideas why I can't use it?

I'm considering buying the tools like the belt dryer and mixer but am wondering how these really work. I do a lot of planning to make sure that I can get the most xp from which products to make when I don't have enough of every ingredient to make the max amount of each item, if that makes sense. So how do these tools determine how much of what item they are going to make when there isn't enough for everything? There must be an algorithm or some such that tells the system what to make. Anyone know? Just wondering if it's worth it to use these or if I should still do it manually. I haven't seen much feedback from people who are using them.

When you buy tools that enable the 'Start All' for each product in a facility, they will also enable a 'Start All' button at the top on each facility to start all productions in one click. It will start products one by one in order of appearance, when it gets to the last product it starts the first product again, continuing until there is no more ingredients available or the capacity is reached.

I just bought a semi and ordering station and it does not show up in facility manager or give any options. The only options are to move it, rotate, delete or add to storage. (like a regular building) I tried to place in storage and put back on farm. Same options. I shut computer down and rebooted. Same thing. I bought this for meat and yeast, has this been a waste?

I believe that the semi must be placed on a farm. Then you can fill it with any or all of the 10 items that will be available at a metered rate. Neighbors cannot "harvest" or "work" the semi truck.

The Ordering Station can be placed either on a farm or in storage to allow you to easy fill and easy empty the semi.

It is by no means a waste (I have 4 at each farm). The production, of me anyway, meets all my needs, although on one set of farms I tend to use up a lot of the chicken, due to my choice of facilities.

A simple refresh should fix all your problems.

Did you buy the semi in the Tools section or the motion section? The one in the Tools section for 22 Farm Cash is the one that you get meat and yeast from.

Look at the top of the menu and it says Show Truck Details. That is how you open it if not through the Facility Manager.

Yes. The trailer with the ordering station is just to double the amount from the Semi-Trailer Truck.

Well its happened again. All my fuel from storage is one again missing and to make matters worse fuel processed from my refinery is not showing up in my storage. I had all the fuel in storage from April that was given to us plus all that I had processed since then. Is anyone else having problems? Any one have any suggestions. I hope it is something on my end but I would appreciate any help that might be offered. :mad:

This is the only post see from you, so i apologise if i'm about to suggest things you may have already tried.....

Have you checked your harvest/product storage with the filter set to "all" or "from facilities" ?

Are you using the "non-ingredients" filter to sell your products at market? If not, next time you store your fuel and before you sell anything, could you check (with the harvest/product filter set to "from facilities"), that the fuel hasn't become checked to sell when using the "sell selected" button.

Have you tried clearing your caches, to get rid of any old data related to FT that may have caused the problem? If not please try that. Then see if the fuel turns back up or the problem corrects or reoccurs. Instructions, if you need them can be found.......

Did you also clear your Macromedia files? This is where the majority of the data is stored.

Since I am at level 235 AND have over 100 neighbors, I should have a heck of a lot more than that as a starting point. Yes, I have cleared my cookes, cache/macromedia files. Where has it all gone? Also, I had emptied my facilities this morning and had over 150 Fuels that should have gone into storage.

Number of neighbors doesn't show anything in storage for fuel. That is only shown if you go to the Fuel Station.

Just have to tell you how much I love the new release!! I do have a question, however. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to clean out my storage items somewhat. I figured since I had all the newest tools, I could sell my older ones. I sold the 4x4 seeder, 4x4 plower, 8x4 tree shaker, and 3x3 fishing boat. Today I noticed that the newest tools I own say they are locked. They still work, of course, but it makes me wonder if I did the wrong thing by selling the older tools. Is there a way that you could restore the 4 items to my storage please, just in case I ever need them? Thanks for the wonderful additions and thank you in advance for your help! :)

How can I buy or get more fuel?

The best way is to buy the oil refinery, and put a few oil pumps on your farms, you can then make fuel in the refinery from the crude oil barrels. I never run out of fuel, i may full up once every couple of months

The way you get to those tools is through the Extended toolbox (yellow toolbox above map). You cannot pick them up in the other columns.

About 70% of the time when I use the harvest and plow combo tool on other people's farm, I have to go over the plots twice before they are done. It looks different too, like about twice as many lines to go over. This slows mw down and also costs more gas. Any ideas on what is wrong? I have asked farmers and they haven't had this happen to them.

That sounds like they have staggered/stacked fields.

Not sure where to post this, so here goes....

I had the brown water irrigation, it watered and worked fine. You guys came out with the red, it was suppose to doubles harvest time besides water, well, all mine does is sometimes waters, and other times it tells me i need to purchase it, duh... i did purchased it, paid 50 farmtown cash for this and it doesnt work, please credit my account back the 50 cash, i will be very happy to use just my old brown irrigator, better yet, why dont you all fix it so i can use it.

I looked at your farms and didn't see them there either. One of the moderators will need to take a look at your storage and farm data to see if they can find them.

With your Forklift in storage, you open the Facility manager. You do not have to do anything else with the forklift itself. Because of it, you have a Store All button for each facility to empty finished production from them. Without the forklift youy would not have those buttons.

Is it sitting on one of your farms?

If you go to the Facility Manager, and then see the "Store All" button on the right side of each facility, with the "Open" button on the left side of each facility box when you scroll across them, then you have the Fork Lift.

If you don't see the "Store All" button in Facility Manager, then you don't have a Fork Lift. You can contact Slashkey by going to the game, and then at the bottom of the FB window Click on "Support" and then fill out the email style form to submit your issue with the missing Fork Lift.

My oil pump facility evidentally is not working properly. I was only able to get 1,770 fuel, when usually I get at least 75,000 fuel. Please let me know what is going on. I can't plow or plant seed because I have no fuel.

When you go to refuel, you get 10 for each level that you have, 10 for each neighbor, 10 for each neighbor you have visited, 10 for each active neighbor (which is all of them), and 300 for each fuel can you have in your gift box or storage. So if you didn't have any fuel cans in storage then you would not get a lot.
The Oil Pumps do not give you fuel cans, they give you Crude Oil that needs to be processed in the Oil Refinery to make fuel cans.

I visit over 32 neighbors every morning and revisit them again every evening. Half the time when I go to refuel it shows that I have all these neighbors, but it says I've only helped half of them...so I don't get as much fuel as I'm supposed to....or the xps. I purchased all the the 5x5 almost two weeks ago along with the bigger flower harvester and boat. I dont have the flower harvester and boat but i have 3 harvesters. I wrote and sent link 2 weeks ago got a email they were working on it. Im getting fed up waiting for my items to be put back on my farm. If not done soon I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FARMBUCK and quit the game all together. Its sad you take advantage of us this way. :mad:

The fuel cans do not go to the items side of Storage but is placed in the products side. When your fuel is empty then you click on the Map at bottom right of the screen then click on fuel station. This will give you a total amount of fuel that will be added based on your level, neighbors and how many fuel cans you have in storage. Each fuel can will give you 300 fuel plus what you get from levels and neighbors.

a few suggestions to try ... clean cache and delete macromedia file http://slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352666 will show you how ... also try hiding everything on the farm you set it down on just to make sure it did go into storage and if after checking farm and storage again can you please link your farm http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=395854 following instructions carefully and one of the mods will take a look :)

I have tried to water my flowers today, but only the red sprinkler and watering can are available in the extended tool box. I didn't want to use the red one on the farm, so have had to use the watering can :(
I have mountains of flowers and don't always want/need to use the red one.

When you water it is for the crop and not for the farm. And you can only water on that farm once every 20 hours.

Hi. I can only guess that this was caused by the new irrigator, as it was the only variable in this situation, from all others before. Last night, I couldn't get back and my crop of sugar cane died. It had been "rushed" to maturity by the red irrigator, right after planting. I was expecting it to be wasted when I got to my farms today, however, I wasn't expecting to have to plow it under twice, three times, or more?

When I refreshed after plowing it, the dead crops were back. I plowed them under again, went to a different farm, came back, and they're there again. I don't know if it deducted fuel costs twice or not, and I probably should have refreshed the entire game before coming here, but I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem.

Also, is there any way we can get the brown irrigator back, in addition to having the red? Sometimes, all I want to do is water my flowers and NOT cut my crop time in half. I often make patterned fields and don't want the rice to speed up; the blue could be part of my color scheme or plan.

Yes if you have no fuel then the forklift will not work. However you can still go into each facility and click on each item to store.
What do you see when you try to refuel? You should still see at least all the fuel you get from levels, and neighbors even if you don't see any fuel at the bottom from refinery or gifts?

Have you had the first one for a while or did you just buy it? If you just bought it try refreshing your farm. Then you should be able to buy it.

I solved my problem. I had the first sprinkler on one of my farms. I put it in storage and was able to buy the red one. Sorry, for the trouble - I didn't know it wouldn't be recognized that I had the first one if it wasn't in storage.

She needs to own the green forklift tool, to be able to use that feature. It's a Farm Cash item, in the "tools" section of the store.
The forklift allows you to use the 'Store All' button in the Facility Manager to store all products in one facility with one click. This tool consumes 1 fuel for each different type of product it stores.

Hello,

Put your tools into your Item storage. Then use the extended tool box to access them when you got to another of your farms. The extended toolbox is located by hovering over the yellow toolbox.

If you mean the tools for use when hired to work on another person's farm, then it's the Farm Cash tools that you need for that e.g 4x4 plow, 4x4 harvester, 3x3 fishing boat, flower harvester (or the bigger tools if you have upgraded) . Same process, make sure you store them before you go to market in search of work.

Are you storing the fuel cans you make in the refinery? Are you getting your neighbors to help speed up the production? For every fuel can you make or accept as gifts you should get 300 gas when you refuel.

I store everything. I don't get rid of anything to do with fuel and I do post for help on production. I thought maybe I was just doing something wrong. I currently have 384 fuel tanks in my storage shed and 132 crude oil barrels. I don't know how much I have pending but I guess I probably need to as for help with production every couple of days huh? No, sorry. The only way to delete trees is one by one. The bigger bulldozers are for deleting harvested or plowed fields.

That is because it is a coins purchased tool. Only those purchased with Farm Cash will work on others farms.

Silly question, but are you sure that you didn't fill your "tank"? something similar happened to me and I went crazy looking for my fuel only to realize that somehow it ended up in my tank. 1,236 million gallons :)

I don't have any Ebony trees on my farms but when I work other farms and come upon Ebony trees to chop it seems that I am not able to use any of my three chainsaws. I am able to chop all other trees with them but on the Ebony trees the only way I can chop them is with the axe. For me this isn't a very serious problem, since I don't have any planted, but I thought I would mention it and see if someone might have either experienced the same problems or maybe someone has a solution.

Hi here is a few things to try

1. Try reloading farmtown and try again.

2. Check that you have 1x Green Forklift & 1x Purple forklift.

I just tested mine and it worked as expected.

If the above fails please advise and the moderators will be able to check your farm data to check what you have.

you had to have the red one before you could use the orange one. the red one only does crops - the orange does crops, trees and flowers. once you purchase the orange one, that's the only one you get the option to use and as it does the same job as the red one 'and' some ... it's the only one you need.

It's a way for them to make more money ... making us buy one before we can buy the other. They did the same thing with the mobile sprinklers, except we got screwed worse with it. I had to buy the brown one (which only waters flowers) BEFORE I could buy the red one (which waters and accelerates growth on flowers AND crops). Now that I have BOTH of them, I can only use the red one which is a real pain since sometimes I want to just water the flowers and not accelerate the growth of the crops on that farm. As others have said the red one was first and only did crops. When you bought the orange one (you had to have the red one to buy it) that expanded what it could do to crops, flowers and trees. You do need to keep 1 red one in storage, but the only one you will actually use is the orange one to fertilize everything on the farm.

Now since you bought an extra red one and didn't need to, you can submit a report to Farm Town Support to see if they will refund you for it. No refunds or replacements can be done through the forums. To contact Support go to your farm page, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Look on the left side under the line for Report/Contact this App and click on that. Select the middle option on the pop up and then fill out the form on the next pop up. It can take a while before they get back to you on this depending on how many tickets they have to process.

Those are all coin purchased tools and cannot be used on other's farms. Only tools bought with Farm Cash can be used on other's farms. Those would be the 4x4 and 5x5 tools, the Farm Cash tree shakers, flower harvesters and logging trucks.

You need the purple forklift to use the Store All at the top of the facility manager. The green one allows you to use the Store All on each individual facility.

The Farm name/number is probably missing because of the lenght of the name and farm number excededs the space. Even with only a single number farm like 4 or 9 you will notice that the number is under the question mark.
For the missing crop try clearing your cache and macromedia files. Instructions on how to do this are in the following link:

This will probably not get you what is missing but should hopefully get future production storing. If this doesn't work then try putting the facility into storage and then pput it back onto the farm. Sometimes that will trigger it to work. You will lose what is done by doing this but the pending work will come back.

If your connection was lost or glitched temporarily when you put your harvester into storage then it would show back up where it previously was. Glad you at least found it and can now put it into your storage.

The functions of the forklifts are in your Facility Manager. If you have the Green one then you will be able to use the Store All button on each facility to store the items done in that facility. If you also have the Purple one then you can can use the Store All button at the top of your Facility Manager to store all done items from all facilities at once. Both of these use fuel to operate.

Did you refuel? If so that is where your fuel went too. When you refuel you will lose any fuel you still have and it will replace it with the fuel you can refuel with now. Always wait till you need fuel to refuel.

Put the forklift in storage. When you open your Facility Manager you will see a Store All button at the top of the window. Click on that and it will store everything that is done in all facilities. That is how the forklift works.
Keep in mind that it does not do the Animal buildings nor does it cash out the service facilities.

Did you buy the Farm Cash ones or the lower level coin ones? The Farm Cash ones do work for hire and the coin ones don't.
If you are hired for a single job then your farm cash tool for the job will show in place of the gift box in your toolbar at the bottom.
If you are hired to do multiple jobs then your tools will be in the extended toolbox where your facility manager is.

Coin I can't afford farm cash ones. Income is below $15,000 a year. Seems a little unfair for low income people to not have the coin ones work. People who hire at times hire the ones with working tools at the same time and so we get aced out as they just hog the jobs.

Are you refueling before you are empty? If you are that is why you are losing the fuel. When you refuel any fuel you have left before doing this does not add to the new fuel but is lost.

Are your trees in 3x3 blocks? They have to be in 3x3 blocks for the shaker to grab all 9 trees.

Now you are really confusing me.
First the oil pum has to produce the crude oil barrels. You can produce 2 barrels every 6 hours. You store those barrels in storage. Then you go to the refinery with the barrels of crude oil and start batches of fuel production. Each barrel makes 12 fuel cans every 12 hours. Then you store those fuel cans in storage.
Next when you need fuel and are empty of fuel in the upper left corner of your farm, then you go to the fueling station in the map or click on the fuel can in the upper left corner. The fuel station will then total up how much fuel you get. For each fuel can you have in storage you get 300 fuel added, along with 10 fuel for each level, etc.

Yes, it stores with one click all facilities that have production done in them, in the the normal facilities. It does not "cash out" the service facilities. It has nothing to do with fields or animal buildings.

When you were trying to delete fields with the 5x5 bulldozer, were the fields planted? If they were, then that's why it would only delete them one by one. The larger dozers will delete multiple harvested or plowed fields only.

For the problems with using the bigger tools when hired to work another farm, could you make sure you have a clear space ( no fields/flowers/trees/buildings/decs etc) on one of your farms, then try taking one of the tools out of storage and placing it on your farm. Save the game, reload and then place the tool back into your storage, which sometimes resets it. See if that corrects the problem with either that tool or all of them, if it does correct the problem with that tool but the others are still misbehaving, then use the same process to correct the other tools.

The station is not the oil refinery. Your don't refuel from the oil refinery. You must store the fuel cans from created in the oil refinery in your storage. Then it will register when you go to refuel. Each single fuel can will give you 300 fuel when you refuel, but again you have to store what is done from the oil refinery into storage.
In the oil refinery each barrel of crude makes 12 fuel cans in 6 hours. So for every 6 hours that the oil refinery is producing then the done amount should go up 12 cans.

Check your storage again and see if the gifted tanks have been removed. Where any of them from using free gift sites? Those don't always work and can cause problems. I've just checked mine and all fuel tanks both gifted and stored from the refinery were accounted for. Remember to visit your neighbours before you next refuel, that helps to earn you more fuel.

There are pros and cons to working on layered farms. One con being you run out of fuel a lot quicker. Since the layering isnt "condoned" i dont think theyre going to be giving anyone extra fuel to work on layered farms. At least, I dont feel it would be right to do so.

The only way you can harvest or plow is if you have been hired by them. You cannot do any of that from just visiting. Also if you are hired then you can only use the single tools or the Farm Cash ones if you have purchased those.

No, do not sell any Farm cash tools. The newer ones are just upgrades to the older ones. If you were to sell them you would only receive coins for them and it would stop you using the upgrades.

I've been reading through your posts and there seems to be a little confusion over the different percentages shown on the oil refinery which may be why you think you are not getting your fuel correctly.

When you open the facility manager and look at the oil refinery, without opening it, you will see a percentage(%) next to "Utilization". That percentage tells you how full/how much you are using the facility to it's maximum potential. The less you have in production at that time, the less the percentage.

When you click to open the oil refinery and then click on "What's pending" you will see a different percent. The percentage shown there is telling you how much of the next batch is done. It will be different to the "Utilisation" percentage.

For example, if you have a totally empty facility, nothing pending at all, and then you max the facility out, Utilisation will show 100%. Then if you immediately click to open the facility and then click on "what's pending". The percentage shown will be 0% because it has only just started to make a batch. If a product took 6 hrs to make and then you returned 3hrs later to look again, that 0% shown under "What's pending" will have changed to roughly 50% as one batch was half of the way to being done. Each time a the facility starts to make a new batch it will reset that figure to 0% and start again.
