New Release -- March 15th, 2011

Hi There,

We just released a new version of the game with the following features and bug fixes.

UPDATE 18th March... Production in the Oil Refinery, Bee Farm & Fish Farming Plant has been tripled

UPDATE 19th March... Petrochemical Barrels have also been tripled in the Oil Refinery

1.Animal Buildings are now always shown in the Facility Manager.

2.Fishing Boat 5x5 (FC): If you already own the Fishing Boat 3x3, then you can buy this new Fishing Boat to fish almost 3 times faster, up to 25 fish at a time.

3.Summarizing Coins and XP in multitools: When using multitools, the coins and xp are now summarized for every click instead of shown for every single field.

If you want to get rid of all coins, xp and bonus box animations completely, you can now control that with the 'Show Coins and XP Animations' option in the preferences window.

4.Ordering Station w/ Trailer (FC): Enable the 'All' button when Ordering products from the Truck.

Also, with the extra trailer capacity products are delivered twice as fast, it's like duplicating the output of each Truck assuming you have enough fuel.

Note that if you have multiple Trucks, you only need to buy one Ordering Station w/ Trailer, and all your Trucks will benefit.

5.Improved Help System: When you hit any green ? (Help) button on any context you will see now a graphical help system which will allow you to quickly understand things like:

- Detailed view of what can you make in a facility, even before you buy it
- What ingredients are needed to make a product
- Which products can you make with a specific ingredient
- On which water items you can catch a specific fish

You can browse and drill down as deep as you want.

6.Alternate View of the Ice Cream Factory.

7.Soft Drink Factory (Coins): Allows you to produce Soft Drinks. You can get Carbonated Water as gifts or from the Truck. You can make Caffeine in the Coffee Grinder.

8.Ice Cream Shop (FC): Allows you to produce Ice Cream treats and smoothies. You can make Whipped Cream in the Dairy Processing Plant. You can make Waffle Cone in the Bakery.

Berry Smoothie
Apple Pie a la Mode
Ice Cream Sandwich
Cola Float
Chocolate Mint Shake
Hot Fudge Sundae

9.Harvest Storage space increased once again.

10.Diversification Rank shown in Facility Manager: The header in the facility manager now shows a new measure of success for players using facilities:

Your Diversification Rank: ### Best: ###

Your Diversification Rank is calculated using the following method:

- For each Facility you own you get 25 points

- For each Product in a facility with pending productions you get:

- 5 points if you have 19% or less of the product capacity used
- 6 points if you have between 20 and 39% of the product capacity used
- 7 points if you have between 40 and 59% of the product capacity used
- 8 points if you have between 60 and 79% of the product capacity used
- 9 points if you have between 80 and 99% of the product capacity used
- 10 points if you have 100% of the product capacity used

The 'Best:' value always shows the best Diversification Rank you have been able to achieve at any point in the game.

In the near future you will receive benefits like ingredients or speed or better price depending on your diversification rank.

Note also that you can still use the Utilization and Done filters for an overview of those counters.

11.Two weeks ago we launched a couple of things:

- When you change filtering or sorting options, the change is remembered forever
- Fixed all filters in facility manager and added a new filter 'All Facilities in All Farms' which should speed up things considerably


New levels, Farm 9 and Service Facilities coming up in the next release. Easter items coming up in about a week.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new fishing boat .... and the fact that it's price wasn't made toooo high. Knew it would be for farm cash when we got it, but it's worth it for the difference it makes. Harbour a little wish however, that we were allowed to buy the new one IF we already owned the previous one ... but that we were allowed to trade it in, or sell it for farm cash since we had to pay farm cash for it.

Love the increases for the semi truck, never have enough chicken. I've already bought the two new factories and now searching for stuff to get them up and running. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to plant watermelon, thank you for creating a way to use them, I miss planting watermelon.

And another use for almonds, very nice.

I'm glad there is another use for the coffee grinder and that we can produce carbonated water without relying on gifting.

Thanks for the great updates. I emptied rivers, lakes and sea coast within seconds - that boat is a good investment. Now if only people would exchange some of their gifts for bait people might be more incline to fish for them, especially if they have one of the two fishing boats!

one tiny complaint. instead of adding the "Diversification Rank shown in Facility Manager" you replaced the "Pending Done % Used" number. wish both were there.

Thanks for putting the animal facilities in the facility manager. It would be extremely helpful to have some sort of indicator to let us know whether or not they're ready to harvest - a percentage completed would be ideal.

I may have to buy an ice cream shop just so I have something else to do with all my almonds. :) (Either that, or buy another bee hive so I can make more granola!)

I checked with my friends and the gifts still go through but for some reason this is happening when it is switching us to the game to play not sure if this is an FT or FB problem. Clicking play loads the game, so it is only a minor announce until who ever gets it fixed.

Have a look in the shop and next to each ft cash item you get two options 'buy' or 'send', click on 'send' and the neighbour you want to send it to and it's done. You have to have the ft cash to pay for it though!

The new features sound great but PLEASE bring back the Utilization percent and the overall amount done at the top of the Facility Manager. The diversification is pretty meaningless. It doesn't tell me anything that is useable whereas the percent finished tells me if I need to reload my facilities and the amount done tells me if I need to collect what's finished and go to the market. Please put it back. It is very useful information.

Also, it would be nice where you have the barns and such if there was an indicator showing if it was ready to harvest or not.

The ordering window for the truck does not work. Although it does "produce" goods 30 min. faster, it makes you wait an hour to remove them and then only gives you half of what should have been there. Anyone else having this problem?

Why would I want to buy the ordering station (which will double the production on my truck) when I can just buy a 2nd truck for almost half the amount of FC? I guess if you have 3 trucks already it might make sense, but doubling production of one truck would take care of my needs. Why should I not just buy a second truck instead of the ordering station? What am I missing?

Your math is correct. The thought behind the Ordering Station was, IMHO, a benefit to those with multiple semi trucks.... like me, I have 4 at each set of farms.

So me it means ordering the Ordering. For another, a second semi is a better use of FC..... until they buy a third, fourth etc

However.... if and when they add cheese to the semi.... watch the FC sales of Ordering Stations roll in the directions of the devs. lol

agreed ... bought the cola place, 5x5 fishing boat (wow, what a great way to fish), and the semi-truck station - big boost to production and already love barns harvest from facilities manager.

also love the alternate view ice cream factory

can save some of my FT$ for Farm 9 but it's VERY nice to know that it's coming so can save my real $ for it and plan ahead for the layout.

The new features sound great but PLEASE bring back the Utilization percent and the overall amount done at the top of the Facility Manager. The diversification is pretty meaningless. It doesn't tell me anything that is useable whereas the percent finished tells me if I need to reload my facilities and the amount done tells me if I need to collect what's finished and go to the market. Please put it back. It is very useful information.

Also, it would be nice where you have the barns and such if there was an indicator showing if it was ready to harvest or not.

Oh, my suggestion is: can you change the text show facility name and its farm from Facility name (Fn) to (Fn) Facility name?
Because when the name too long, its farm number doesn't show
But if you place farm number first, player still know the facility's name, though it avatar.

the buttons were moved over because when you own the ordering station, that space becomes occupied by the "all" button in the semi truck. It's my understanding that it's much easier to move everything over as default than it is to have some moved over and not others.

Speaking of the gift box, could it be possible that when getting gifts the scroll bar stays put instead of going up to the first item and you have to go and scroll down again.. I usually do the storing first and then the trees and decorations and they are not in the order of elimination that the scroll would keep up with me, so its a battle to go up and down all the time. I know it can be done, you did it with the harvested things and the items, so please could you do it on the gift bar? Thanks

Then I noticed that I pay 700 coin for 5 units of of water, and when I just "harvested" 4 semi trucks, I got 190 carbonated water..... big woop.

Two gifts = 200 water.

That is like paying 1400 coin for the equivalent of one bait-gift:eek::eek:

I really like the speed up on the semi's. Way cool. And maybe the soda shop plant will prove to be a cash cow once the caffeine and watermelon are delivered.

I wanna start by saying I love this game and have been playing since darn near day 1, I know I will take flak for my post but it's time I vented a bit. I am extremely dissapointed in this update
In my opinion It's time for the devs to concentrate on making existing facilities & activities easier to manage. We waited 30 + days between updates & we get a new boat and 2 new facilities???
People have been asking for more cheese for a long darn time, we get no help for this?? most people would pay real money for this option
8 oil derricks can't produce enough in a week to fill the refinery, again most people would pay real money for this
6 clicks minimum for animals from gift box to shed??? and that's if it works right, add a couple more clicks if it don't & of course the dreaded loss of connection while doing this.
A lot of people have asked for an accept all button for gifts, again we get no help on this matter??
I know slashkey has to make money for what they do & I have supported this game in the past, but waiting 30 + days for this update will not open my wallet, fixing the problems I mentioned will open mine and a whole bunch more

They do double yes, because the delivery time has halved. and also you get an ALL button next to the +30 button.

I like being able to harvest all animals from one farm. It would have been nice if they had their own icon, but it is definitely better the way it is, than not having it at all. was tired of visiting 7 farms in order to harvest turkey feathers.

Not crazy about the thing that doubles the trucks output since I only have one truck. I think it cost 40 fc where as another truck would cost me 22. I guess it is only beneficial to those with at least 2 trucks.

Don't care for either of the new facilities, perhaps will change my mind, but think I am tired of facilities, would have preferred something new.

As it stands now, there is nothing I will be buying from this update. Perhaps the diversification thing will add something new to the game when it comes out.

What I would have bought if they had come out with it is a tree chopper that does twice as many trees or a way to fill the facilities in one click. It isn't worth the farmcash to get something to store the items from my facilities in one click since I only sell off my stuff maybe 2 times a week at most.

I don't think that people want the Diversification Rank to go away but they want the done and pending put back in so they can see what is going on. I tend to agree with them on that there is plenty of room for both in the facility manger. On the benefits of the Diversification Rank I don't recall reading of the benefits to come last night but I may have missed that. On the where to get caffeine and carbonated water that was not in the first post last night when a lot of the people where asking about them that was added this morning. Sometimes Raul or a mod will go back in and edit the announcement to give more information that is being asked for over and over again.

So happy with the new updates and farm 9 on it's way,we sure need it with all the extra planting and building we have .You Guys are doing a great job .I love Farm Town. I just love being able to go to my Farm and doing my thing getting away from it all on my Farm :)

I get an error message, yes, but the gifts are sent :D. So I guess you don't need to be worried :)

Great update devs. I am so happy! I bought all the 4 by four tools :p Crazy or not... There goes my money (well I just got a part of my study loan confirmed to be non loan, since I managed my exams :D).

Now I am looking forward to farm 9! I am waiting patient impatiently. I am getting more and more hooked on this game and love the choice of different needed crops and days they tkae. It makes it fit perfectly with my studies: short time in the weekend and free days, long time when I am busy. Marvelous :D
