I don't post often, but have been playing since almost the very beginning. There have been times when I only played once a week, times when I have gone a couple of months without playing (no internet), but I have been on almost daily for the last several months. I don't remember ever waiting for an update like I have been for this one. This is my game of choice. The other farm game is a joke, it's slow and cumbersome, and asks for a lot of real money for basic things. True, I have spent real money here, but it has truly been worth it. Now, for the first time ever: I WANT THE UPDATE NOW!!Crazy isn't it what you will do for your addiction?

A Kiwi walks into the local unemployment office, marches straight up to the counter and says, "Hi! I hate being on welfare, I'd really rather have a job."

The clerk behind the Centrelink desk says, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur/bodyguard for his ************ daughter. You'll have to drive around in his Mercedes, but he'll supply all of your clothes.

Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll be expected to escort her on her overseas holiday trips. You'll have a two-bedroom apartment above the garage.

The starting salary is $200,000 a year".

The Kiwi says, "You're bs-ing me!"

The Centrelink officer says, "Yeah, well, you started it".

Like everyone else, I am disappointed that Farm 11 isn't here yet. After some thought, I am making a prediction that it will be September 1st...

:D:D:D Actually, as much as would hate to WAIT until September 1, that just happens to be my 32nd WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!!! Now, while it wouldn't be paper, silver, diamonds, gold, etc., what better present than Farm 11 and 12 and 13 and 14 and, and, and, etc.... So, Raul, please be a very good friend and let me have my present!! AND, I will SHARE with ALL of my FARM TOWN friends and neighbors!!!!! ;););););)

That's funny. It was our 39th anniversary a couple of weeks ago, and my husband asked what I would like for a gift - he was taking me out to buy one - and very quickly qualified the question with ... 'and don't say FARM CASH' :D

BTW, if Australia is "down under" what do we call the USA and the rest of us above the equator?? "up above"???? No, seriously, not a joke or trying to be funny.......

Deb, Tony has had the good sense to go off line for a while. If you look at the little light beside our names it is green if we are actually on line, and a grey/blue colour if we are not actually on the forum.

It can be deceiving though, because I have the forum on most of the day, but don't spend the whole day at my computer.

While I am really looking forward to Farm 11, what I really, really want is:

>>>More levels than the last couple of updates. I've jumped from top level available to top level available;
>>>Something to be rewarded for the Diversification Level that was promised. I have a Diversification Best Score of 13220. I'm hoping that you either produce more products along the production line (like the Crop/Tree Belts) or earn Farm Cash for the Diversification;
>>>Include the Belts for the Production Facilities and Fishing.

So, really I want new goals to work for! Farm 11 will just be gravy on top of the other Meat & Potatoes I'm hoping the serve up!

maybe one day we will see Tony's farms but i would guess that if tonys farms were linked ....he wouldnt get any peace to farm anyway ppls would be always askin questions an whining at him ...as for his sense of humour well he is an "aussie" and we do have a fairly decent sense of humour ....and i guess we need a discussion group to decide what to call the northern hemispherical countries lol

An Aussie, a Kiwi, and a South African are at a bar one night having a beer. All of a sudden the South African drinks his beer, takes off his diamond encrusted watch, pulls out a gun shoots the watch to pieces. He says "In Seth Efrika we have so many diamonds that we don't need to wear the same diamond twice".

The Kiwi (obviously impressed by this) drinks his beer throw his glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the glass to pieces. He says "Wull mate, in Niw Zulland we have so much sand to make the glass that we don't need to drink out of the same cup twice".

The Australian then pulls out his gun and shoots the Kiwi.

:mad::mad::mad: lol!

I gave up trying to get the Neighbor Trophy. I visit neighbors that are online, to give work, if I have it available, or offer to work, if I have nothing to do. Going to rake leaves or clean up after a storm for such a small reward (15 coins - if you didn't have to buy a hose or rake or whatever) with the time it takes for their farms to load is ridiculous! We should be able to do real work for them - harvest, chop or plow. I wouldn't want freedom to work their facilities:eek:, unless we could block that, since I have been so focused on the rewards for the Diversification Rank that is suppose to be coming!:):):)

but gee ... we've all been camped out in this thread for a while now and not even a peep from the devs to say 'nearly there', or 'not quite there guys', or ... anything.

must be time to shop around ...

i started playing in june 09, the first few neighbours trophies where a breeze, but yes like u i gave up on it too,.

but i found a mthod that worked for me, it was a slow process, but i got there..

i started by visiting the 8 neighbours showing on my friends list every day, i didint miss a day, my visits started to build.. as i hit around 3000, i nearly gave up again.. i even told my son whio played id buy him 55 FC if used my account and do my visits lol.. then about 6 months ago i started doing the first two screens of friends.. it would only takle a few mins, easier if u turn of flowers, buildings trees etc when loading other farms, and with a bit of paitience i got there about 4 weeks ago :

well peeps it should be here lol. ive held off loading up alll my faciclties since the last release, i normally do this when I know a release is imminent. occasionally again, the release will be delayed, eventually i give and load my facilties up, always guaranteed to bring on the update around an hour after i do it lol..

well i had a close call last week and nearly did.. but i didint and guess what no release.. this week it got the better of me - i just maxed out, so my theory of it biting me in the butt every tiem i do this will remain in tact if we get that baby tonite!!!

I finally got my 15th trophy because I was watering my neighbor's flowers with my sprinkler. That made the visits worthwhile - 1,000 coins and 3 xp per farm. Some of my neighbors have flowers on all 10 farms or at least a majority of them. It adds up :) I have a list so I know where their flowers are and don't have to hit the ones with no flowers.

The MODerators answer questions and keep the forums in control. Many of us answer questions but are not moderators. You will find all the moderators names are in green and not the same color as the rest of us.
The Developers are the Slashkey programmers who create and modifiy the game for us. The only one of them you will see on is Raul and his name is in blue. The only time he is on is to post about a new update release or to add to the information about a release. Raul does not answer questions and none of the other developers come in the forums to do that either.

There are many, many farmers who handicap the release of a new farm. I am one of them. And the devs are driving me around the bend with this one because we've already passed all the "should be released by now" markers. Nevertheless, in the interests of accuracy -- MUST BE ACCURATE :D -- to those who say there has never been a month without a release, allow me to point out that:

Judging from Raul's Join Date of February 9, 2009, that's probably the beginning of FT mania. The first three releases were June 18, 2009; September 19, 2009, and November 12, 2009. SOOO Handicappers, in the first 9 months of its existence, FT had no releases in six of those months! March, April, May, July, August, and October -- oh, and there was no release for February 2009 either.

And, Taz, as for the devs waiting until they've amassed the hugest crowd of FTers demanding a new farm, we have already exceeded the previous record number of posts by nearly 50% mine making the count 2,300 ;)

So, to quote Raul from the release that hinted at the advent of the second farm,"And by the way, there are too many items now for so little land . . . ;-)"

So, Raul, does that little tidbit ring a bell? If it was true back in November 2009, it's even more so now with all the crops, trees, flowers, building, facilities, and decorations you have so generously given us. We NEED ANOTHER FARM so we can spend real money to buy neat new things for our new farm -- and line your pocket and those of the devs too!

So, please, please, PLEASE let us have Farm 11 very soon . . . like in the next 8 hours? Please?

So, please, please, PLEASE let us have Farm 11 very soon . . . like in the next 8 hours? Please?

You can not go by what is posted in this section as the release dates for ft. They used to delete the announcement posts for some reason. While I can not give you all the dates for the releases I know we had one in July of 2009 that is when we got pineapples and a few other crops. I know there were releases before that too but can't tell you the dates of them.

As I wrote above am having flashbacks to when FT first came out....which I still say all newbies should have to experience ...lol..lol....one farm....had to plow one plot at a time...was thrillled when we got the big red mansion...lol..lol...think we had like 32 or 35 levels...lol..lol...working other farms learning how to flip down a row faster....lol..lol...oh and the fights over you got three more plots then I did when hired...lol..lol...I have over 600 million so havent worked in a long time...

I remember those days justmecookin. I often think what would all the newbies do if we took all their toys of them and reduced them to one farm. It would be fun to watch I think but to a lot may see it as too much hard work. It was level 34 back then and it took me over a year to get there just to buy that big red mansion (which was sold a long time ago lol). Going to the market place was a real experience and there was no 'plow only' or harvest only or even 'no trees, fish or flowers' because any job we got then was a blessing. The game has improved out of sight and is the best one around. I ahve over 32millxp and nearly 18bill coins but I still enjoy the game. I even go into the market place for something to do and often I do get hired and still do my job and stil thank the person that hired me. So waiting for this update is no real big deal as us oldies have learnt to be patient a long time ago. But Farm 11 would be lovely to have before I have to go on a weeks holiday. hip hip hooray for the mods, devs and raul.

I started playing farm town in April of 09. I've seen it all. It was hard back then to level up without any tools and only 1 farm and no facilities to bring in money to work with. I have spent a lot of real money to get the things I want, and right now I want farm 11. I have gotten spoiled to having an update every month and frankly I'm getting tired of waiting!

Even if the newbies only had one farm and no tools, they would never know what we went through as long as they have the abilities to work others' facilities. Back in the beginning, I really thought I was going to turn into a grape as we would plant the whole farm in them over and over to try and level up ... and then lo and behold they came out with raspberries so we could do it twice as fast ... I have friends who told me they were going to come over here and choke me if they had to harvest one more raspberry ... LOL ... in today's FT, a newbie can level up pretty quickly just working everyone else's facilities.

Yes, things are much better now and we have become spoiled farmers :D which is why we are all whining now about the new release.

They most certainly need to think about releasing more than one farm at a time ... most everyone on here already has at least one farm earmarked for something so even when it comes, we will be ready for another one ... the only good thing about having to wait is that most of us will have enough coins to totally build the new farm out without using FC to upgrade to the full size.

My big wish is that the developers would devise a way when we work other's facilities that it would only highlight the farms that have facilities. I have put out a request to my farmer friends to please post on their work request the number of the farms that have facilities ... but, alas, most of them don't :( and it takes a lot of time to keep loading up farms with no work.

If the Devs posted a comment that they had wanted to give us farm 11 but due to complications couldn't, I would not be bothered. If they said they were having ANY sort of difficulty and there would be no release for a few more weeks, I would understand. It's NOT knowing that is annoying.
Raul does not answer questions and none of the other developers come in the forums to do that either.

thanks for the info.

Actually, that would be a great business decision for Slashkey! :D:D:D:D:D Think of how many of the advance players that have calculated and saved based on the past expansions, the coins they need to get to the 24x24. Would we really all wait to build up another 2.6B to 3B coins to buy & expand Farm 12, or would be open up our real life wallets to get the Farm..... I'm thinking I would, since I hate having the Junk Yard (Farm 1) with all of my facilities crammed into every available space so that I could maximize my crops space to knock out the Crop Belts on the other 9 farms.

Yeah Ive also raised this point and I agree. We dont have to hold the devs accountable for a date set in stone.. but with all the hysteria on here surely it isnt too much to ask that we be informed if its on the cards this week or not. At last Tony, bless his heart, has just said something to us. I dont agree when you say its none of our business.. I think we spend a fair bit of our own money on here so I'd like to think its a 2 way street. Alas, Im sure it will all come in good time.. probably when Al is away on holiday hahahaha :D

I agree too. I don't think it would be that much to ask for Raul, or someone, to give us information on the progress of the next update. Every other game I have ever played regularly communicates with its players. Slashkey is particularly bad at it. I understand that typically developers may not be the most social of human beings, but they could certainly funnel info through a mod if they don't want to interact directly in the forums. Or, novel thought, they could actually hire someone to handle their public relations/communications/marketing. Maybe if they had someone actually working to market the game they'd get more users. I don't need to know to the hour when an update is going to happen, or even to the day for that matter, but I would like to know that an update is going to happen soon and maybe what is causing the delay. If there are problems that are being worked through, we would all understand that and would likely simmer down.

I tend to agree about sharing information on future enhancements, changes, releases... etc

However, judging from the information post(s) at the time of a release, and the accompanying spelling and grammar.... well, I would not suggest that Raul or one of his cohorts be asked to keep us up to date (could be more confusing)

Therefore, I submit that Mr Downunder, Tony, be nominated as the go-between, or the Press Secretary, for the devs. In the US we have daily press releases from the white house. But FT is much more important than that, so we could have a P/R maybe twice a week

what, when, where, why, how

I realize that each P/R would be only based on "anticipated" changes.

And I second the motion for a concentrated effort to advertise and promote the game.

Who know, maybe many, MANY, former players who only tried it for a short time, or became bored in the early days, will return.

They would certainly be shocked at how far the game has come.

No, we wont be able to ever expand farms to 26 by 26, something to do with the servers not being able to cope with a farm that size as it just about manages now with 24 by 24 i heard somewhere xx

Hi,

That question has been asked in the past and the reply we got was that largest farm size is 24x24, and will never extend beyond that for technical reasons, mainly down to the fact that the server load is too heavy.
So unless that changes, it's unlikely.

Well, the devellopers are unwilling to give us information, although many people request answers. With this method they lost many people playing that game. If they want to continue like that, do so, we have enough alternatives if they think they can behave like that.

But the worst is, that when an update comes out, most of the players slime like babies how great the update is. Actually I expect a little more now then farm 11, 12, 13... and some new and new facilities. This game needs a new drive with a really new idea (like once harvesting animals, the appearance of facilities, tools). Come on, wake up.

In order not to loose gamers, devellopers should really start with something new and telling us on which new idea they are working.... if they do so, what I doubt.... communication is a perfect thing....

I thought one of the post said it was a flash player issue. Either way, 24x24 is actually 32x32 plots when you take the space out between the plots. That really is a great deal of space to farm, and plant flowers and trees.

Then add to that the gliche that allows for layering, that's a great deal of data, if someone were to do a field of layered plots (up to 9 on each one), then a layer of flowers, and then a layer of trees, and then facilities, building and decoration, animals running around and a overall ground cover - that's a ton of little bytes for the servers & flash to handle!

A husband with the Farm Town addiction might experience this.....

My Dear Husband,

I am sending you this letter via the Farm Town communications thing, so that you will be sure to read it.

Please forgive the deception, but I thought you should know what has been going on at home since Farm Town entered our lives over two years ago.

The children are doing well. Tommy is seven now and is a bright, handsome boy. He has developed quite an interest in the arts. He drew a family portrait for a school project, all the figures were good, and the back of your head is very realistic. You should be very proud of him.

Little Jennifer turned three in July. She looks a lot like you did at that age. She is an attractive child and quite smart. She still remembers that you spent the whole afternoon with us on her birthday. What a grand day for Jenny, despite the fact that it was stormy and the electricity was out.

I am doing well. I went blonde about a year ago, and discovered that it really is more fun! George, I mean, Mr. Wilson, the department head, has taken an interest in my career and has become a good friend to us all.

I discovered that the household chores are much easier since I realized that you didn't mind being vacuumed but that feather dusting made you sneeze. The house is in good shape. I had the living room painted last spring; you may have noticed it. I made sure that the painters cut holes in the drop sheet so you wouldn't be disturbed.

Well, my dear, I must be going. Uncle George--err--Mr. Wilson, I mean, is taking us all on a ski trip and there is packing to do. I have hired a housekeeper to take care of things while we are away, she'll keep things in order, fill your coffee cup and bring your meals to your desk, just the way you like it. I hope your farming will be successful and you will have a lovely time while we are gone. Tommy, Jenny and I will think of you often. Try to remember us while your combine is working.

Love,Your Wife

A mathematician, an accountant and a public relations officer all applied for the same job at Farm Town to keep all farmers informed.

The developer called in the mathematician first and asked, "What does two farms plus two farms equal?"

The mathematician replied, "Four farms."

The developer asked, "Four, exactly?"

The mathematician looked at the developer incredulously and said, "Yes, of course: four, exactly."

Then the developer called in the accountant and asked the same question, "What does two farms plus two farms equal?"

The accountant said, "On average, four farms - give or take 10 per cent depending on their expanded size; but on average, four farms."

Then the developer called in the public relations officer and again posed the same question, "What does two farms plus two farms equal?"

The public relations officer got up, locked the door, closed the shade, sat down next to the developer and whispered, "Well, what do you want it to equal?"

Moses and his flock arrive at the sea, with the Egyptians in hot pursuit.

Not knowing how to proceed, Moses calls a staff meeting.

"Well, how are we going to get across the sea?" Moses asks. "We need a fast solution. The Egyptians are close behind us."

"Normally, I'd recommend that we build a pontoon bridge to carry us across," the General of the Armies says, "but there's not enough time - the Egyptians are too close."

"Normally, I'd recommend that we build barges to carry us across," the Admiral of the Navy says, "but time is too short."

"Does anyone have a solution?" Moses asks.

Just then, his Public Relations man raises his hand.

"You!" Moses says, "You have a solution?"

"No," the PR man says, "but I can promise you this: If you can find a way out of this one, I can get you two or three full pages in the Old Testament..."

Well.. I have been coming to this news area for a few weeks now... Reading all the posts and getting excited about the next releasse. Raul hinted at a farm 11 in the offering... And with all updates, there are probably new factories - tools - and more twists. The excitment grew... and the messages grew.... All seem very excited and looking forward to the next release. Some, like me, hve a strategy in mind for farm 11..... We have built up coins and got our farmcash ready... excitment grew even more.... Then the flow of messages on this board grew tih each day - hoping that we were getting ever closer to the release....

But disappointment started setting in... the boards started chatting about jokes, then vacum cleaners.... still no release..... Some of the jokes were pretty good - and some of the vacum cleaner stories were enjoyable as well.. :) Maybe the vacums were there to suck the excitment out of us while we await the release..

I cannot speak for others, but i am getting more than a little disappointed. Donèt get me wrong - I really enjoy FarmTown. In fact it is the nly game i play on FaceBook. It has kept my interest for some time - and the regular updates are one of the reasons. The game has matured as well as it grew (ex. start all buttons, tools). But the regular visits are becoming disapponting... no release..... and no messaging to let us know what is happening.

You would think someone could simply add a note to let us know what is happening. Rumours state there were issues with the release... Others speculate on the dates... timelines between updates... But no real news....

St this point I am a little disappointed, and getting more so each day...

I have re read teh recent post history on this thread and am not convinced people are complaining. I take it more as people are somewhat disappounted that there has not been a release - but more importantly - that there is no communication around the release. Anthing would be nice....

I guess we play this game, and like it... we get attached to the whole thing... and maybe we expect too much... donèt know...

An interesting thing happens with goodwill... It is built over time with positive experiences... a sense of comfort, enjoyment, good rapport - whatever. I think there is an immense amount of goodwill by the players of FarmTown with SlaskKey and the game developpers & the rest of the community. From the recent thread, I wonder how this goodwill is being tested...

I remain interested in the game... understand there may be issues - and no promises were made....

But it would really be nice if there was some communication.... keep the loyal players in the loop on what is happening - or not happening

it aint disappointment cus folk are saying they will quit if it doesn't happen soon.

the thing is its only a game and yes the banter is great, input to how the game is made more enjoyable, having a forum to do whilst someone works your farm, having great neighbours (as I do) etc etc etc but there is a real world (please see my signature and know there is no such thing as RL) out there and the devs are there trying to do the best they can, with yes our money but im sure that is still only a percent of revenue because lets be honest there is so much stuff that is free on this game which doesn't involve real cash. so do they really owe us an explanation... course not cus you dont see this kind of involvement and dedication in other games because they wouldnt even entertain this kind of forum or involvement etc.

so do i want devs coming and saying oooo sorry folks its going to be a bit longer every other day, no cus that would wind me up a bit more. maybe they can see the fact that every one waiting as a good thing and know that this game is actually a good money spinner.

or they could have a sadistic side and just want to inflict as pain and suffering by making us wait longer but may be thats just me cus i am a sadist lol

Complaint Department for Farm #12 is now OPEN.

Please take a number.

The next number available is #14, 845, 972

Now serving #4

.

oh no, I'm #14,845,971 ... now what do I do?

in the name of killing time while waiting for Farm#11, I went and got another 40 neighbors ... that will occupy some of my time (working facilities and gifting people) ... yikes, do I not have a life?????????

My take on this is that the farms are winding down and there probably won't be more than 12. Therefore, we probably won't see farm 11 for another couple of months, also another 3 months after that for farm 12. However, they can do many more things that have improvement and more interaction between neighbors and their farms. I’m beginning to wait for Farm Town II, the ‘New and Improved’ Farm Town from Slashkey.

Well said ...also my feeling disappointed , discouraged. oh well

I would enjoy hearing some news, too. Even something like, "We're having some issues - hope to be able to do the release late next week." Then I'd know I could plant longer crops again and load my factories another time. Just a ballpark guesstimate would be fine with me. 'Course there would still be complainers if the guesstimate didn't materialize when expected but I still think it would be better than nothing. Them's my thoughts anyway.

Hi, the reason I don't have my farms linked is because I have absolutely zero creative ability and my farms are a disgrace (One of them is named "a bloody shambles") I will be happy to send a link to you if you want to take a look though :).... In answer to your question on "Down Under" I just refer to other countries/islands/continents/planets etc.. as elsewhere....:D

I can understand that! I am the same way. Some of the farms you see on here are absolutely amazing!

I was just wondering if the bad weather could have anything to do with the new release not being there yet. Just a thought.
I have been spending a lot of time reading through all these post's since Thursday. Love all the jokes, you almost make it worthwhile waiting for the update. And why do some of you think we only going to have 12 farms? I was on a game, can't remember the name a year or so ago, I think it had something like 40 farms. Not that we could manage that many in farmtown. Really to much work, but we can dream of more than 12 farms i am sure, even if just used for decorations and trees. Love this game and we are lucky found some games where the dev's are nowhere to be found, no support what so ever.
Happy farming to all my fellow addicts.

Farm 11 and new levels In the next release.

Enjoy!

Thanks

--Raul

so we will be getting at least 1 more update. I to wish it was here but will just have to wait like everyone else.

Would like to see the game add to what we have and also make what we have better. Adding to what is here to make it easier to use and play with would be so much nicer then just adding more and more to clutter and drive the crops we have thinner and thinner in where they are used. A improved pig truck using the cow and chicken poo to give a better ferterlizer would be nice resulting in a high yield per crop would use less fields for the same amount we get.

There are so many tweeks that can be done not just adding and adding.

ok back to waiting.

Since he could not give her a Farm 311, a rich man was trying to find his daughter a birthday gift when he saw a poor man with a beautiful white horse. He told the man that he would give him $500 for the horse.

The poor man replied, "I don't know mister, it don't look so good," and walked away.

The next day the rich man came back and offered the poor man $1000 for the horse.

The poor man said, "I don't know mister, it don't look so good."

On the third day the rich man offered the poor man $2000 for the horse, and said he wouldn't take no for an answer. The poor man agreed, and the rich man took the horse home.

The rich man's daughter loved her present. She climbed onto the horse, then galloped right into a tree. The rich man rushed back over to the poor man's house, demanding an explanation for the horse's blindness.

The poor man replied, "I told you it don't look so good."

This bloke wakes up one morning to find a gorilla in atree in his garden. He looks in the phone book for a gorilla removal service until he finds one.

''Is it a boy gorilla or a girl gorilla?'' the service bloke asks.
''Boy gorilla'', replies the man.

''Righto'', says the service bloke. ''I'll be round in a jiffy.'' An hour later the service bloke shows up with a stick, a Pit Bull Terrier, a shotgun and a pair of handcuffs.

''Right'' he says to the man.'' I'm going to climb the tree and poke the gorilla with the stick until he falls. When he falls and hits the ground, this highly trained Pit Bull will viciously attack the gorilla crotch. When the gorilla crosses his hands over his crotch to protect himself, you slip the handcuffs on,''

''OK,'' says the man, ''but what's the shotgun for?''

''I'm glad you asked that,'' says the service bloke. '' If by chance I am the one to fall out of the tree and hit the ground before the gorilla does, then please, please, shoot the dog."

Raul said farm 11 would be out in the next release if they wait 3 months for the next release there will be no one left playing the game. You can guess that farm 12 will be the last farm and you might be right but a lot of people guessed that farm 9 would be it and it wasn't.

I actually think this release has probably been delayed due to the flash issue.. its took them days to fix what we already had, im guessing they aes still tweeking stuff we dont see, and probabaly fixing the new stuff aswell before its released to deal with the flash issue..

The issue that flash player caused was fixed by the developers a few days after the issue happened. The issue with flash was fixed almost 2 weeks ago. While that may have delayed the release a few days I doubt that is the reason it is taking so long to get this release. Unless the release contains something new that is not like anything we have now it shouldn't take that long to get together. The coding for the facilities should be basically the same the only thing different is the graphics, and the products, so adding a new facility shouldn't be that hard. The basic coding is done already they just have to add the new stuff. This is the same with the start all tools they have the basic coding done they just change the coding to fit the next set of facilities for that tool, but they don't have to write the coding for that tool from scratch. Bottom line is I don't know why this update is taking so long but I doubt it has anything to do with flash player.

They would certainly be shocked at how far the game has come.

.

LMAO thats the funniest thing Ive heard all thread... yesssss FT is far more important than the White House! Yes I agree too.. Tony would be an excellent PR person so I "third" the motion! Yes I too think that people would be shocked if they came back and saw the progression with this amazing game! Added bonus is we have you Stoneface to keep us entertained! Thanks for that! :p:p

Well you may be right around the number of farms available. Twelve seems like it would complete the rectangle. At some point you do have enough farms... just not sure what that number is :)

I guess the other items could go on forever - only creativity would be the restriction. Someone starting today has lots they can add for a while :)

I also agree threats and impolite comments are not helpful. The game designers and programers do try there best to get it done.

My only suggestion is that slaskkey sends out the occasional informational item to highlight their plans or release schedule. It would appear many companies flag upcoming changes or plans for the future in releases. Raul himself pointed to an upcoming farm 11 in this thread (first message). Had he said - in Sept 2011 for example - it might have been helpful (there would thus not b the current expectations.... Slaskey may well need to adjust as they go, and possibly even chnge the date. But at least we woud have a sense of what is happening. Could be as simple as adding a new message to the threads - upcoming release..... some general comments and timeframes...

If you play in Chrome, the issue with FlashPlayer hasn't been fixed at all. I went to Firefox, and downloaded the beta version of the next FP to fix it there.... As far as I know, the devs didn't do any fixes that related to the bad FlashPlayer release.... Still ugly in Chrome....

That said, to the DEVS! UNCLE, UNCLE, UNCLE! Please give us Farm 11 and the next set of levels! The people threatening to quit if there is no update astound me. Quitting because it's been a few weeks since the last update and you're not given confirmation when it's going to come out? I've played many games in the past where they update frequently but the quality is downgraded and prices are raised. If the next update takes a little longer so they can get it right, I'd prefer that over any alternative. I'll give the answer I give to my children when they get too demanding over something not going their way: It will be here when it gets here.

I'll stick with quality over quantity, thanks.

I think us Farmtowners have the makings of a great doctor dissertation in social psych or something. It's really funny to watch how we react to waiting for updates. We're all happy for awhile right after an update (assuming there aren't bugs), so we rock along - probably the posts drop off a bit because people are content. Then the pressure starts to build - people start coming here more - cracking jokes - being funny and cute about wanting the new update. Then we begin to get edgy. Then people begin to threaten. Then others get upset at the people who are threatening or edgy. I think it would be a GREAT dissertation! One question I think would be interesting is . . . what causes us to cross the line between joking and getting really SERIOUS about wanting our update? Is it just a time factor? If so, how long does it take for us to cross the line? See . . . if the devs had THAT information, maybe they could use it to plan somehow? I dunno . . . I just think that's fun to think about. Anyone in this group need a topic for a dissertation or thesis??? :)

LOL - I've said before Farm Town could well be an evil social experiment.

Maybe we could make a Farm Town jigsaw with about 4000 pieces to keep everyone occupied and out of mischief while waiting.

Ditto!!! Where are we going any way did we forget this is a game and not our paycheques that feed us!!!!! How about go and redesign a farm while we wait... I know from visiting my farms ;) some could use some twiking how about a design party on one of our farms!!!! Just a thought !!!

Raul said farm 11 would be out in the next release if they wait 3 months for the next release there will be no one left playing the game. You can guess that farm 12 will be the last farm and you might be right but a lot of people guessed that farm 9 would be it and it wasn't.

Where in heaven's name does anyone get the idea that updates are"due" or "overdue"? It's ridiculous. Quit because of something that doesn't happen fast enough? That falls under the category of what my mother called "biting off your nose to spite your face". Do you honestly think they care if anyone quits? There are always others to take your place. Just enjoy the game and remember that even though we spend FarmCash to get what we want, it's still a free game and can be played for absolutely nothing. It's not their bread and butter - PLEASE stop acting like it's ours! IT'S. A. GAME. And they owe us NOTHING, not updates, and not information about updates.

You don't need to use a credit card. Go to Target or Walmart and buy a Facebook gift card, and use that to get the Facebook credits.

I think the devs need to stop teasing us with future updates. The only reason we have made this such a huge thread is because they told us what was going to happen, so somehow some people expect it sooner. Back in the day, I never expected updates, they were just a pleasant surprise. Relax people, remember why you play, and have fun!!!

I'm ready with 9 billion coins, a warehouse crammed, and OT on the paycheck that means I can splurge a little! And please explain to FB that the "new and improved" FB they forced me to take is disgusting for gamers!
My Chrome works just fine with the current release of Flash. The developers did fix the vertical text problem with it. There are still a couple things that they need to fix, but they are minor.

I don't use credit cards either, but I do have a debit card that is also a Visa Check card (credit card with direct withdrawal from account). I have that added in my Paypal as a secondary source for my Paypal. Do not have any problems with using Paypal to buy FB credits - Farm Cash. You can also get Facebook cards at several different store and not use Paypal.

When people have reached the top level in a game and there is weeks or months between anything new being put in the game they get bored and move on. People get sick of doing the same thing over and over again that is why all games on fb are always adding new stuff to the game. As far as the developers not caring about people leaving the game, people leaving takes money out of their pockets so they better care. You say that there are others that will take our place if we leave that is not true. At the height of the game there was about 20 million people playing the game, now there is only 1.5 million people playing the game people are leaving and no one else is taking their place. The developers can't afford to lose vary many more players and keep the game running. People buying farm cash puts money into the developers pockets. For every facebook credit people spend on farm cash the developers get 7 cents and that doesn't include the money they get from the ads. The games on fb make the developers a lot of money, I don't know if it is their bread and butter but I would bet it is. The game is not free for the people that have paid money to play the game and people can say what they want but to play this game to the fullest you have to spend money on the game or do offers to get the fc. The so called free part of the game is getting more and more restricted because of the coin facilities that need something from a cash facility and the high price of land. The only people that are making billions of coins are the ones that have all the facilities the ones that only have the coin facilities are not making as many coins. This is a business for the developers not a game if you want to keep your customers happy you do two things keep them informed on what is going on and give them what they want in a timely manner. While the updates usually happen in a timely manner the developers have missed the mark big time on the communication part of the business.

Ya know Buffycats right.....It's a game, a free game, unless you decide to spend real money on it. I have been critical of the time between updates and as one post puts it I have been a slime thanking the Devs when we do get an update.

But I do appreciate the game and all the Devs and Mods do! I think the frustration I feel over the time between updates is my own internal hoping for something unseen. (like my Grand kids before Christmas).
I have 10 farms 6 million XP, 2.4 billion coins,( paltry by some of my friends totals) and the ability to purchase Farmcash (subject to my wife's complaining about spending money to buy pixtels) .

There are a lot of options to play this game even if we never get farm 11 (hope that doesn't happen)

I think we all need to be patient with the Raul and Devs. we expect a lot from them.

I enjoy the game the clever comments on this thread. And plan to redo a couple of my farms that really need it.

Thanks you Raul, Devs and Mods. :D:D:D

Whenever I get "quiet" (won't say bored because I could never get bored with this game) I pull down a farm, empty it and rebuild it. I think I might pull down my trees on Farm 1 (full farm of them) move them to another and put facilities where they were. Yes... there's an idea. Farms 1, 2 and 3 will be for facilities and cities. 4 and 5 for flowers and trees (each to their own farm). Farms 6 onwards for cropping and having fun with and then I can also use one of them for the monthly FT contests. Hmmm I will make farm 6 for the FT contest.

See...no problem!! I'm off to do some serious destruction. Hmmm first I better post my facilities and then some more planning which will require a cup of tea and some peace and quiet and then...

Sorry I haven't got time to sit and watch for the update now cause I'm going to be too busy on my farms.:D

I plan on re-doing my 2 tree farms but every time I spend days re doing a tree farm the next release has a new product that requires something from a tree we don't currently use. I have done the work of planing what trees will be on what farm and how many of each tree I will need to give me enough product to max out the facilities 3 times a week, but I am not planting them until after the next release. That way if they add a product that needs a tree not currently in use I can factor that into my plan for the tree farms before I plant them.

I completely agree, just remember when we started playing this game, I have been playing since april 2009 and it was months and months between upgrades, not sure how long i played with only one farm...

the devs have definitely spoiled us rotten by starting to give us upgrades every month and I would never stop playing the game just because it's taking time, who knows maybe as one person wrote they are trying to implement the use /rewards for the diversification thingy and have run into some issues... anyway.. the saying is he who waits for something nice....;)

as it is with the numbers of players... I would imagine a lot of developers are experiencing similar losses of players, just look at Zynga, they seem to come out with games all the time to keep people hooked, at least slashkey stays true to FT.

I play 3 more games that I do try to visit once a day but I don't spend any of my own money on those game.. this is the game I love. :)

enough said of that... now where is my 11th farm??? lol....

When I first started reading the last 'few' new pages since last I stopped in, it felt like it had come full circle...lots of repetition, and questions that have been asked and answered at least once or twice in the amazing number of posts in this thread. Then a few got almost hostile about things which amazed me. I thought the majority of us, were "complaining/whining/begging/threatening'" or whatever you want to call it, in FUN? Maybe I truly misread most of you, but I took most of this as bantering, or teasing...just to pass the time, and socialize some. The jokes have been funny, and some of the comments hilarious...telling us to relax and have fun...well, I thought that was what we were doing? I mean sure we wandered a bit, as Tony told us a few times, but after a couple thousand posts, that would be almost impossible not to do. The vacuum thing was perhaps the most off topic, but not intrusively so, or at least not to me. I don't know...I want farm 11, as much as anyone else, but I am not really stressing out over it; and the sleep deprivation, tho' real, is caused by my son staying up till 3 or 4 in the am, and having to get up early. Maybe my sense of humor is not the same as everyone else's, but I really don't think I misread most of you. (and I am sure someone will let me know if I have...lol)

Looks like it got accidently removed from the game guide.
First thing is you will need a pigsty and some pigs (gift item only). When you collect the manure from the pigsty and store then it is automatically put into the manure spreader truck. When a farm needs fertilizing then you click on the manure spreader in the extended toolbox and then click on the farm. This fertilizes it for 3 days.

Fairly straightforward, except the devs aren't always the best explainers. '~)

Before you do anything else, put your Manure Spreader in storage. Much easier to access from the extended toolbox than dragging it from farm to farm.

Step 1: Buy a pig sty and swap as many gifts as you can for pigs. I'd suggest a total of about 75 will do.
Step 2: "Collect Manure" from your pig sty. The manure automatically goes into your spreader. You can do this twice a day.
Step 3: Open your toolbox all the way. The icon for the Manure Spreader is right under the Facility Manager (far left column, second from the bottom)
Step 4: Click on the Manure Spreader icon. It will tell you if your farm is fertilized or not, plus how much manure you have.
Step 5: Drag the Manure Spreader out of the tool box so it's over the farm and click. You will see a shower of ***t, and a pop-up telling you your farm is now fertilized for the next 72 hours.
Click on the green person to make the Manure Spreader go back to its garage.

You can always "Highlight" fertilized crops/trees/flowers using the drop down menu under the wrench (top right corner, middle of the row)

Questions? :)

This is the "long" version, in case you're not clear about it from Taz! I ALWAYS do the long, long entry!! FOFLMAO!!!

Thank you for the explantion...one last question (I think) What is the ratio of fields per pig harvest???

This is to add to what everyone else has said. Each farm takes 50 units of manure to fertilize it does not matter how many fields, trees or flowers you have on the farm. The red spreader does only crops, the orange spreader does crops, trees, and flowers. You must buy the red spreader before you buy the orange spreader. Once a farm is fertilized it is fertilized for 3 full 24 hour days. A crop, tree, or flower only needs to be fertilized at some point during the growing of the item. The farm does not have to be fertilized when you plant or when you harvest just as long as it was fertilized at some point during the growing process. On trees and flowers when you harvest them the farm will need to be fertilized at some point before they are ready to harvest again. If the farm is fertilized when you harvest the tree or flower great you don't have to worry about the fertilizer again until after the next harvest of the tree or flower, if the farm is not fertilized when you harvest the tree, or flower then it needs to be harvested again before they are ready again. One pig sty and 100 pigs in it should be enough to keep you in manure because the pig sty can be harvested every 12 hours. If you have stuff that needs fertilizing on all 10 farms the manure will be a little tight at first but soon you will have manure coming out of your ears.

So bored of waiting now, farms rearranged twice, have laughed my way through the posts a couple of times.
So close to finding another game to play, already volunteered for overtime the last few weeks hoping it would make time go quicker while waiting for update. :( It didn't work, am soo bored

While I've been waiting I've moved things around on my farms. Bought new animals, cleared space for extra facilities, found places for more flowers.

Now I don't NEED Farm 11. So there!

(Maybe this will work?)

as a clairvoyant i see this being written when the next release is posted on the forum.....

I have met so many fantastic fellow farmers from all over the world who claim that their farms are all that helps to keep them going by totally absorbing them and taking their worries away

If I were the one in charge..... and wanted a coin game (cash for tools etc) and a game that would generate income for the devs, and continuous releases for the players.... consider....

I would have the cereal factory at a high coin cost, and the cereals would be available to Post or Kellogg, or General Mills for advertising income. Each cereal could be added at different releases. As each cereal factory is purchased by a player, the company pays the devs a fee.

same concept, high coin cost, with......

the Soda Plant available to Pepsi, or Coke .... steady release of products... can, bottle etc

the bakeries available to Aunt Millie's etc...

Breakfast Restaurants .... Bob Evans, IHOP, Pancake House

Pasta Restaurants.... Olive Garden

Steak House..... Outback Restaurants (available at reduced cost to Aussies)

Breweries.... oh boy, would that be competitive... we could have multiple breweries... bottles, cans and kegs

Coffee Grinder.... Maxwell, Folgers.... and more

Coffee Shop..... Starbucks perhaps, but they might require you to have one on every corner

Distillery.... Seagram's in Canada, and a wide variety in the states.... by brand, with multiple farms, multiple advertisers.

Hamburger Restaurants.... gotta be a few who would outbid MickyD

Ice Cream.... let Baskins and Ben and Jerry duke it out

Natural Remedy.... perhaps ReLiv Products or a group of distributors would like to see their products in the shop

Oil Refinery.... that could be fun too.... as long as our Energy Un-conscious president does not shut it all down or raise prices

Pizza Restaurant.... maybe even get on-line coupons for products along with the advertising dollars

Taco Restaurant..... I hear bells on this one..... maybe

Sandwich shop...... hmmmm maybe Subway, Blimpie, Quiznos, or the over rated Jimmy John

Soup Restarunt ... Campbells, Progresso...

The Advertisers would pay an initial fee for the right to be seen on and in Farm Town.... then a fee based on how many of "their" plants or products are sold to farmers.

Developers would gradually add (release) the advertiser's products, and farmers can add them as they like

.

a thought on the sheds and coops and crops.... those products would stay required in the same manner as now. The more you have, the more final product you get... and the more money you make

i think some folk are starting to get anticipation fever ... cant be bothered to think of funny symptoms because all i keep doing is refreshing the forum every hour to see if there are new updates... and to offset this they are coming up with some seriously good suggestions which will never take place because lets be honest you would need a farm just for hoarding and adverts that you would be expected to have to promote said named products...

and breathes...

going off to do housework, yep its bank holiday here but i cant keep doing this to myself .. i need to do something real :D

Aside from trying to figure out how to decorate farm 11, I still need a name for it. Most of my names have something to do with my ethnic background. I'm thinking of either something in Tagalog from the Philippines or something from the Yoruba language. So many names to choose from! I sure hope it comes out today :)

I think we may have a problem with inserting Farm 11 into our signatures. I tried to put something extra in mine and was told I'd run out of characters. I shouldn't have such long farm names, but I'm not changing them now.

Anyone else having trouble with the game? Not the normal anticipated ones like timeouts, just freezing up alot, and in spite of having 5 fish plants, it said I was out of bait today...usually have 35 to 40 thousand of each kind...now all I have is freshwater?? And it changed around the number of animals harvested...and the times...I had all the farms due at the same time...now about six bldings are offset; I have the number of each animal on a spreadsheet...and this morning the figures were different? Normally it takes about an hour to go thru' and do the animals, fishing and trees and most of the harvesting ...but it has been almost 3 hrs and I just finished...

Don't know that this means a thing, but it certainly is odd!

Sometimes, now I just take these things for granted, but I appreciate them. Some examples might be the belts/bonuses (which I hate, but collect any :p, the little yellow hand that lets you move items around on your farm, the bar now showing which of your neighbors are actually on-line, and on and on.

I'll go first (since I started this) :) Remember, only one per person!!

I have to agree. In one of the posts for a previous update someone said it was worthless and it should be deleted. I would go nuts without the little yellow hand. I use it all the time. But a VERY close second is the add to storage button. It makes moving trees and flowers soooo much easier and less time consuming. I use both all the time.

Deep within a Farm Town forest a little turtle (new animal, finally) began to climb a tree.

After hours of effort he reached the top of the Oak Tree, jumped into the air waving his front legs and crashed to the ground. After recovering, he slowly climbed the tree again, jumped, and fell to the ground.

The turtle tried again and again while a couple of birds (also new additions to the FT animal store) sitting on a branch watched his sad efforts. Finally, the female bird turned to her mate.

"Dear," she chirped, "I think it's time to tell him he's adopted."

Finally, he says "I'm going to have to put him down."

"What? Because he's cross-eyed?"

"No, because he's really heavy"

The Farm Town Farmer wanted a companion dog.... and the ft dogs were really silly looking.

So as he is walking one day, sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog for Sale."

He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a black mutt just sitting there.

"You talk?" he asks.
"Yep," the mutt replies.
"So, what's your story?"

The mutt looks up and says, "Well, I discovered this gift pretty young and I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping.

I was one of their most valuable spies eight years running. The jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger and I wanted to settle down. So I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security work, mostly wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings there and was awarded a batch of medals. Had a wife, a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."

The guy is amazed.
He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog. The owner says, "Ten dollars."

The guy says, "This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him, so cheap?
"The owner replies, "He's such a liar. He didn't do any of that stuff."

This guy walks into a bar down in the back hills and orders a mudslide.

The bartender looks him over and says, "You're not from around here are ya?"

"No," he responds. "I'm from Pennsylvania."

The bartender asks, "Well, what do you do in Pennsylvania?"

"I'm a taxidermist," replies the man.

Looking very bewildered, the bartender asks, "What in the world does a tax-e-derm-ist do?"

"I mount dead animals," replies the man.

The bartender stands back and hollers to the whole bar (which is staring at them now), "It's okay, boys! He's one of us!"

A man brought a very limp dog into the veterinary clinic. As he lay the dog on the table, the doctor pulled out his stethoscope, placing the receptor on the dog's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said, "I'm sorry, but your dog has passed away."

"What?" screamed the man. "How can you tell? You haven't done any testing on him or anything. I want another opinion!"

With that, the vet turned and left the room. In a few moments, he returned with a Labrador Retriever. The Retriever went right to work, checking the poor dead dog out thoroughly with his nose. After a considerable amount of sniffing, the Retriever sadly shook his head and said, "Bark" (meaning "dead as a doornail").

The veterinarian then took the Labrador out and returned in a few moments with a cat, who also carefully sniffed out the poor dog on the table. As had his predecessors, the cat sadly shook his head and said, "Meow" (meaning "he's history"). He then jumped off the table and ran out of the room.

The veterinarian handed the man a bill for $600. The dog's owner went berserk. "$600! Just to tell me my dog is dead? This is outrageous!"
The vet shook his head sadly and explained. "If you had just taken my word for it, the charge would have been $50. But with the Lab work and cat scan...."

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet. "My dog's cross eyed. Is there anything you can do for him?"

"Well," says the vet, "let's have a look at him" So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth.

Finally, he says "I'm going to have to put him down."

"What? Because he's cross-eyed?"

"No, because he's really heavy"

That took me a second..................... :)

How many farm town addicts does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Just 2 but it needs to be a large light bulb.

HINT: Farm town addict is not part of the joke...

What do call a dog with no legs?

Does it really matter, he isn't going to come...

Maybe it is time to converge on Miami and hold a demonstration in front of Slashkey's headquarters...:D

That got me to thinking - what if there was a FarmTown convention? Agendas are set - guest speakers with Powerpoint, sharing ideas on how to do this and that (and Tony D there to censor any layering discussions (NOTE: Moving layering seminar off-site and have a bouncer at the door :p)... Where was I? oh yes - and all of the attendees brought their laptops, stayed in their hotel rooms, and worked Farm 11 Raul released that same day.

bad things happen when I start thinking...

:D:D OK, I have an idea....let's play a game, and list the ONE (and only one per person) item that was added to the game that didn't cost ONE COIN or ONE FC!!

I really like the little yellow hand that lets me move things on my farm!

NEXT????

(oh, and StoneFace, you can keep adding jokes in between the posts, please!!!)

The thing I like the most is turning the bulldozer into a one click sell tool. Now when you click on something that is less x amount (can't remember the amount) you can choose to delete all items without having to confirm it. When you delete the item the mayor "auctions" off the item and gives you some coins. The coins you get from the mayor's "auction" is the same every time and the same amount you would get if you sold the item. For that reason the bulldozers are now what I like to call one click sell tools which are great when deleting thousands of flowers or trees. I put over 5,000 flowers on my farm one time and sold all of them taking 3 clicks for each flower so I really love being able to sell the flowers in one click now.

I spent hours yesterday rearranging the trees, hours today rearranging flowers. If we don't get the update tonight, I don't know what else to do. I have >5K of every crop, facilities stocked to 100%.

I really need the update!

I really like seeing which farms are fertilized at a glance. That's a real plus!!!
