In another effort to streamline these threads and to make all members feel comfortable with posting suggestions, comments or replying to suggestions is not allowed and will be removed.

Please use this thread to post your ideas for new crops, fruits (and the trees on which they grow) and plants you would like to harvest on your farm.

I think it would make sense to get rid of the prune trees—since prunes don't even grow on trees—and just allow us to use the "dried plums" (prunes) we can make in the food dehydrating factory to make the dishes that require prunes.

TREES & SHRUBS:

Witch Hazel a natural remedy made from the bark and leaves of a plant called Hamamelis virginiana. Long used in traditional medicine, witch hazel is usually applied topically in order to treat certain skin conditions. 1 Witch hazel contains tannins, a type of natural compound with astringent effects.

Bayberry has a medium salt tolerance, and grows well in sandy, well-drained soils. The berries have been used in candle making, the leaves to flavor meats and stews, and the dried root made into powders.

FLOWERS:

Bee Balm is antimicrobial and soothing, so it's often used to treat colds and flu.

Foxglove has large bell shaped pink and purple blooms. It is actually poisonous, which earned it the nickname deadmen’s bells. Foxglove contains cardiac glycosides digitoxin and digoxin, which when used correctly are common in heart treatment drugs used today.

Marsh Mallow (Althea officinalis) It is beneficial for so many ailments from stomach upset, constipation, sore throat, bronchial spasms, and even bruises, cuts, and scrapes.


honeysuckle flower used with existing forsythia bush for antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activity in the treatment of bacterial infections and upper respiratory ailments


SHRUBS WITH FLOWERS

St. John's wort is most commonly used for "the blues" or depression and symptoms that sometimes go along with mood such as nervousness, tiredness, poor appetite, and trouble sleeping

Comfrey is a shrub that grows in parts of Europe, Asia, and North America. It can grow up to 5 feet tall. It produces clusters of purple, blue, and white flowers. used it to treat muscle sprains, bruises, burns, joint inflammation

A new crop--turf. It could be sold in the Garden Centre.

canola, canary seed, grass seeds (brome, timothy, lawn) for crops

I think it would be great if we made jello, or jello with fruit??

Just some ideas, for crops, trees and can be used in already up and running factories:

Spearmint and wintergreen, both used a lot, calmer than cinnamon and mint. Used for candies and slushies, azalea and gardenia instead of just a decoration. Christmas (Zygo) cactus, sassafras root, which is used for home made root beer. Horehound; Fir tree

Wish we could buy all trees and flowers in the store. Not just have to receive them as gifts.

Achiote trees
 

PLease let us buy achiote trees. I will never be able to fully stock my spice factories unless I can buy these trees. Some of us do not have enough friends sending gifts. Is there any other way to get achiote trees? Please!!!

There are no black-eyed peas in the game? Seriously? I thought surely Grandma's Country Kitchen brought them into the game.

i would like to see another 6 day crop.

I'd like to suggest that bee farms also speed up or increase crop production, due to pollination by the bees. Or maybe sell/gift a queen bee & hive for that purpose?

Brussel sprouts
 

Please isn't it time to add at least a few recipes that use Brussel sprouts? With all the new Taste of and new Resturants, it should be easy to add some, it only has ONE use, altho it's been a crop for many years.

just some ideas for a new factory and addon's to crops and such" mayhaw, mayhaw jelly is very popular in the southern US; camphor trees, used in medicines; eggnog; gardenia; spearmint; wintergreen; witch hazel; apple butter; watermelon jelly; a creamery factory, like many different types of coffee creamer; sorbet factory; cookies factory, add like girl scout cookies. Just ideas, to existing factories and add ons to keep the game funner.

Need winter crops that be planted on winter fields

Sorry to be repetitious but you still have only ONE use for Brussell sprouts while you have 26 uses for the lowly cabbage. PLEASE add a few more, Heck, even Kale has 5. It should not be so hard to find for a quest,
