I did as you suggested and removed the check marks from the two items and I could plant without any problems. Thank you so much for the help :)

Clearing my browsers' cache didn't do anything to help. I use both Google Chrome and Firefox. The game loaded just as fast as it did before.
The XP amount increases, but it doesn't go down to start...
