I, too, have a gripe about the fact that I am also getting quests that I cannot complete because I do not have the final facility or do not have whatever is needed for an ingredient for the quest....

Ok.. that's helps. No wonder I have trouble planning anything. Although, I suspect that this has nothing to do with my problem.

I just found 4 out of 5 farms which had potatoes planted, wasted....

No no. I know that. I still don't get why it says it is a 12 hour crop when it is going to cut the growing time down. 12 hours is 12 hours .. not 11.9 :)

It just makes it very difficult to plan...

Thank you Jean. That was on a totally different PC 4 and a half years ago and was one of the reasons I stopped playing then. I could not even load Farm Town without getting that stupid malware/virus...

Thanks for trying Taz. I just harvested my sugar on farm 20. It still had 8.7 hours to go before wasting. I harvested, plowed and replanted at 10.54 Australia time. I am going to watch it and see...
