I understand that typically developers may not be the most social of human beings, but they could certainly funnel info through a mod if they don't want to interact directly in the forums. Or, novel thought, they could actually hire someone to handle their public relations/communications/marketing. Maybe if they had someone actually working to market the game they'd get more users. I don't need to know to the hour when an update is going to happen, or even to the day for that matter, but I would like to know that an update is going to happen soon and maybe what is causing the delay. If there are problems that are being worked through, we would all understand that and would likely simmer down.
