I just tested the water sprinkler on a non neighbours farm and you are correct it still doesent work.

You use the axe or chainsaws but they don't get chopped down they just have the bark stripped

I just got one and "chopped" it and it says 1.6 days which I guess means 40 hours using the "old" 20 hour day maths.

I think the way this works is; if you just want to water the flowers you activate the sprinkler and click the farm as before. If you want to double the growing speed, open the menu and click irrigate. Two different functions.
