Cool What is the Point to this Game?

This isn't meant to tick anyone off but I'm wondering anymore: "What is the Point to Playing this Game?" I started playing 10 years ago when it was fun. Then I took an 8 yr. break and picked it up again about a year and a half ago. BOY had it changed!!! It seems like it's nothing more than a competition to get the most coins, the most points, the biggest farms, the highest levels. Some 46x46 farms are nothing more than trees or crops or ponds/rivers, flowers, etc. with maybe a building or 2 thrown on them. Then there are the ones with layers upon layers upon layers of different things.
So, as I'm harvesting these different things I keep wondering; what is the fun and the point to all this? It's seems more tedious than fun.
Maybe someone could share their thoughts?

Hi Retired,
I moved your post to the Social section as that is a better place for this question rather than in Feedback.

"What is the Point to Playing this Game?" There are likely nearly as many different answers as there are farmers - and it can be played by all of us for our own reasons. The only competition is when anyone makes it one. XP and coins are relatively easy to come by now compared to when the game first came out. New farmers can go very far very fast with very little. Above all, for me, Farmtown allows me to focus on a challenging game to keep my brain sharp and keep my mind off of physical issues.

I had been away for several years and came back to FT more than half a year ago and yes, i have found a lot of changes!! There are many ways to play FT now, but nothing is as exciting as having a lot of friends came to my farms and spent hours of interaction with each other while plowing my stacked fields over and over again to gain coins and up their levels; and, when planting and harvesting Pineapple fields was the biggest thing to do. However, I do respect and appreciate all the hard work and endless hours from the developers to improve this game to make it more interesting!! Personally, I now am enjoying building landscape in my farms more than ever as my farms grow larger as it helps me to be imaginative and creative!

Default design

I realize the op is a year old .... I like designing the farms. I still have some I have not done much with but as I make them bigger I love to design around a theme. My husband and I have traveled the country in an RV staying in different parks. I designed a farm I called Work Campers Paradise. It is a idealized version that we never saw in our travels.

I have another farms that I design around a fair. I call it Taste of Around the world. It has the service facilities Taste of New Orleans, Taste of Russia etc. I enjoy designing such things.

I don't see this game as competition unless it is against myself. Just trying to make my farms bigger, more productive and designed better.

Hi Moffeliten

If you want other farmers to visit your farms then you need to provide a link for them.

You have instructions on how to get the link in the following thread:

Default Why play the game?

I like this game as I can play it at my pace. I am not in competition with anyone else. I am trying to build a small town by connecting all of my farms together. I play when I want. I was away from the game for a few years, so some of my farms are jumbled around, trying to work on them some more. Farm 1 and 2 are done, working on farm 8 right now, it is called Farm and Animal shows.

Hi Bjcblue,
We have a special thread for asking for Facebook friends/neighbors. Please read the first post of that thread to see what you need to include in your post. Here is a link to that thread:
