i have over the last 5 hrs run a test on the time to waste clock and it is indeed accurate my methodology was as follow

plowed a single field on a non irrigated farm
planted 1 single plot of raspberry
it took 120 minutes (2hrs) to ripen
when it was ripe the time to waste started at 2.7 hrs(162 minutes)
i monitored it over the next 162 minutes (2.7 hrs)
there was no change in appearance untill the time to waste timer ran out
the field was unharvestable by any means
(and i have all the harvesters and the combine)

this was a true test carried out in a methodical fashion and the findings speak for themselves

1 . the time to waste timer is accurate
2. at least for raspberry there is no appearance change until the time to waste has run out
3. when it was showing wilted wasted plot it was not harvestable

Can anyone help me? I own the 5by5 plower and the 5by5 harvester,but although I am at the right level the game will not allow me to purchse the combine harvester/plower..I have enough Farm Town cash,have the required tools and the required level but it is locked to purchase,but it will let me SEND it. Also I can not use the 5 by five tools on anyone else's farm.I might be missing something? Any advice would be appreciated!!

Guess I should have looked in here first Dave. I got up and planted a field of raspberries with the intent of letting them go to waste and see if the time was or if they wastes sooner. Guess I'll just harvest them and add them tomy other 29,000 raspberries...
I just wonder if the time has been this way all a long and the developers just told us the time was equal to the ready time.

I'm finding all of the times to be accurate, both with and without the irrigator. Just remember these are 20 hour days, not 24 hours.

It appears the "waste" time has not changed, only the harvest time, when irrigated.

ah well mate....i am doing an irrigated plot experiment too seems theres some contention about the time to waste on irrigated crops so i am in th eprocess now of doing that .......have a read of new release from about page 80 or so lol

Ok Experiment 2
this is to test the crop appearance and waste timer accuracy on an IRRIGATED crop
plowed a fresh single plot on farm 11 planted raspberry on it and irrigated it
my local time now 3.55pm rasp showing 59 mins to ready
my local tme now 4.55pm rasp ripe and showing 3.7 hrs (222 mins) to waste
my local time now 5.13pm rasp still showing ripe and timer showing 3.4 hrs (204 mins) to waste time accurate in terms of displayed time to waste vs actual minutes at this point
ok its 6.37 pm and the rasp stilll lookin good showing 2 hrs to wasted so far timer accurate vs actual time
now down to .9 of an hr (54 minutes) raspberry plot still looking healthy timer still accurate

OK WE HAVE A PROBLEM ....AT 33 MINUTES TO WASTED IT IS SHOWING AS WILTED
looks like we have proven there is a problem

nothing like replicating a problem to verify it
however it only affects the irrigated ones
