My vote is still with those asking for more storage space without it being tied to # of neighbors - but in the meantime, I decided to play nice and go ahead and add my name to the neighbor request thread so I could get more storage. I now have a lot of new FB friends but when I try to add them as Farm Town neighbors, I get this message:

"Sorry, you have run out of requests to send with this application. Please try again tomorrow."

I got the message yesterday the first time I tried to add a new neighbor. I had gifted the maximum number of gifts that day so I thought that was it. But I tried again today and am still getting that message even though I haven't sent any gifts or added any new neighbors. Is this a bug or what?

i am having trouble reciveing my coins when i go to market and someone hires me to harvest and plow there farm, cause when i am harvesting there farm and plowing there farm it shows that i am making coins in my account and after i get threw and i go back to my home farm the coins that i made from there farm disappear. can you help, thanks,

I understand your caution, but did you know there is a way to restrict people you add so they can never see any of your information? They are pretty much blind to everthing except what you send to them.

Please can you explain how to do this so you don't delete them as a neighbour in any of the games. I tried to block someone from seeing my wall posts and lost them as neighbours on the games I play. Confused!!

Love the new updates for the storage. but why am i still losing xp points and cash when i farm someones farm ... i had 215000 plus xp point , i harvested and plowed 2 farms this am november 1, 2009 ,, and lost points instead of getting them , i didn't even get my coins , i plowed cabbage and watermellon on 1 farm and pineapple and blueberries on the other. what's up ?

You have to have neighbors gift you the other trees. If you notice whenever you sign into FT you are given a choice to give your neighbors gifts. I find if I give my neighbors a gift that I am looking to recieve someone will normally send me the same gift back. Hope this helps. :D

I am so thrilled to have storage now!! I was really stuck...too much to move around. However, I don't like having the limitations. I think things like hedges, fences, and paths should be one category and only counts as one....or have some other way to do it. These are what are taking up a lot of space and are tricky to move around so much. Can we please treat these differently than the big items, like Halloween decorations, etc.

It's a ncie addage but I get narked at the fatc you have to have neighbours to get extar of all menus.. I dont want to have people I dont know to my facebook to get them as neighbours, and for this privelege of being a loner I cannot buy animals and miss out on othere benefits.. This game is lovely and your reg updates are great but please allow some fairness for lonesome farmers who like privacy :)

I have near 300 neighbors. With the math that was done I should be able to put 603 items in inventory BUT I was only capable of putting 70 items in my inventory............................... Also other apps do NOT have limitations on what you can put in inventory or at least the 1's I participate in.

I'm seeing an issue that seems to have started with the last update.
My ability to zoom in and out using the mouse scroll wheel is not working correctly now. If I scroll down (zoom out) it changes then bounces right back to regular or even zooms in.

I am very happy with the storage option! I've decided not to store every halloween decoration I had; I simply stored items that I paid farm cash for. The remaining items I simply sold. I have plenty of cash, so that was ok with me.

SAme place as your harvest go if you have some one harvest for you , bottom right hand side to the left of the map icon...it is there open it and see new tab that says item next to harvests ...Happy Farming hope this helps !

I love the new storage feature but I am having a problem using the items I have in storage. I put some things in storage yesterday and today I can not get them out. I get a message that says "Couldn't mmove item from storage to farm. Please retry later." I have tried many times over the past several hours and continue to get the same message. you already have it .just click on an item and it should say Add to storage. not all items can be put in storage however.

I don't like that you get such little storage space... With all my Halloween decs, pumpkins and tombstones, I clearly have over the allotted space. I do not want to fill up my farm town with unnecessary neighbors just to add for storage. More space needs to be allotted as the holidays roll by because if we bought Halloween, thanksgiving AND Christmas stuff there would not be enough room!

Thank you for the storage, it's a great addition. But I have to agree with JemimaPuddleduck that some of these options that depend on having a lot of farmer neighbors are frustrating for us who simply don't have them, and don't want to add people we don't know as FB friends just to get them. It doesn't seem quite fair. But otherwise thanks for a great game!

Yeah, then when they realize you've blocked them, they drop you. But that isn't the point, the point is that we shouldn't have to add anyone as friend just to play a game and get the same privileges. All those with lots of friends are already going to have an advantage over those who don't as they have more farms to work and get more gifts, plus hiring a friend is easier when you have more.

Default Harvested fields show crops back again.
I don't know if this is because of the update. But I had someone harvest for me. THen did a refresh. Everything was back as if it had not been harvested. Had a different person harvest. Same thing happened. Please help. I went back to reload from FB. Still the same.


UPDATE -- I just went back on after being on the forum and everything looks harvested now. But I am leaving this up in case someone else has this same glitch.


Same thing happened to me. My harvester couldn't see my fields weren't done and I had watched half of them be harvested before i rebooted. They all came back. Logged out of server and came back... still the same .Came back an hour later and the crops were in my storage. I thought it was just Halloween tricks.

I see that some of your flowers are dead and I would have watered them but one can only water neighbours flowers. So if you wish make me your friend on Face book and once we are friends we can be neighbours here and I will never let your flowers die :)

If they were in your gift box they were used. You get 100 gallons per can when you refuel. If you don't want to use them leave them on the Facebook page until you do.
If they were other gifts, I have no clue as to that.

Thanks for the storage. It's going to be a great asset, but unfortunately I sold my big ticket Halloween items right before I noticed the news. However, I'll be ready for Christmas and other fun things.

I have been wondering about the Lotto wins we used to get too?? I am fair fed up with being 'timed out' while harvesting and then forced to click out of the farm I am on, with the result of losing all of my coins earned while harvesting. Have been playing today and it has happened soooooo many times. Not Happy !!! Have lost at least 50,000 in earned coins today, and am racing a friend who is also on highest level to keep ourselves occupied until YOU GIVE US SOME MORE LAND AND LEVELS !!!

Hi, I am not sure if i am putting this in the right place but cant find where else to write.

I am having trouble with xp points and coins when working on others farms. I am using the save button but eventhough i am doing that they are still disappearing. Sometimes when i refresh or go out of farmtown altogether then i might get the coins back and sometimes not. Same with the xp points, sometimes they come back and sometimes they dont. It is very frustrating. Could someone advise me what else there is to do?

Every since they made harvesting easy I have seen this. One way to fix it is I seen is to stay till all is gone before being hired to plow. I notice if I leave even through they are grayed out I don't get the money.

I just went to market to sell my crops and sold 2 lots of produce and got no credits so then i refreshed to see if they came back but they didnt and i also lost my 40 000+ coins for one of my other produce.

We just released a new version of FarmTown which provides support for the item storage and a couple of other improvements:

Item Storage:
-------------

1. Users can now move some of their items to the item storage. You can store up to 3 items plus 2 items for each neighbour you have, for example, if you have 10 neighbours, you will be able to store 3 + 2 * 10 = 23 items on your storage.

2. To add an item to the storage, click on it and select the ‘Add to Storage’ menu option.

3. You can access your item storage by clicking on the Storage icon and selecting the Items tab.

Bug Fixes:
---------

1. Improvements on the crop storage/coins/xp management when working for others.

2. Better instructions on the gas station.

3. The time-to-refuel counter now shows the correct time

4. A percentage of people (specifically those that had a lot of gifts on their gift storage) will be able to receive gifts again from their friends.

I agree...I am glad to have the storage ability for the decorations but I think it should be unlimited and not by the amount of neighbors one has. I have the max limit of neighbors and can't add anymore but don't have enough storage. What happens when there are other things that will need storing???

This game is great, although I do agree with Jemima PuddleDuck on not adding strangers as your friends. I know there r great people out there, but also some not so great. Just don't need them seeing the family facebook. I would like to be able to get the spiral bushes, they can only be given as gifts, can that one be an added option at some time down the road. Love the Halloween decorations, excited to see what will be coming for Christmas. Still would love to get more LAND, I suppose more will never be enough! LOL ---Still love the game thanks :)

I'm going to have to agree with some of the others. I don't want to add anymore "friends" to my FB and all of my friends that want to play FT are playing it. Storage should be based on level, not neighbors, just like everything else in this game.
I say 5 items per level (so if you were level 34, you'd get 170 items to store)and if you want you can buy more storage for...I don't know $10,000 coins?
I think that's pretty fair, but then I'm just a lowely little player.
And more land would be nice and being able to buy some of the houses/items that are for "bucks" for coins would be nice as well.

It is wonderful we can have storage...I just wish I could get to my farm to store my stuff. Has anyone come up with a fix to the problem of not being able to load farmtown. I posted on the 20th or 21st and have had minimal suggestions from other people who were having the same problem. My son in law who does computer work has uninstalled IE 8 and Adobe 10 and and reinstalled, gone thru my CPU and says he can't find anything. There has to be an answer to the problem. I am a level 32 and never had a problem until the 20th of Oct, which is when you added some new stuff then also.

As far as people worrying about adding people they don't know to their Facebook: You can set up a separate list for FarmTown neighbors, and then limit what they can see or do on your Facebook profile.

Being in the minority big time does not lessen the point... does it matter than only a few feel like this? do you actually know this as there is no thread on this/.. as I asked earlierr maybe some negotiation.. it's not just the storage, it the trees, the animals. the plowing, the machinery, and not by a small margin either.. we are tlaknig the majority of animals and trees and storage.. so the minority get the majority of the penalties? no?:rolleyes: it does not matter if your'e a good guy or not.. some people me being one of them have issues with adding cyber farm people we know nohting about to our real life network.. and again yes you can edit this and that but still it is not right to use such levergae in order for ppl to add ppl for the sake of it.. dumbs down the whole friendship thing,, for those who have made friends well done am genuinely happy for you but I suspect the majority of *friends are merely there to get the benefits..?

Thanks for the storage, but I don't think it's fair to limit how much you can store by the number of neighbors you have. I have one neighbor and can only store 5 items. I'm going to have to delete many items that I bought with farm cash. I guess I won't being buying anymore Farm Town cash, maybe I should just stop playing.

I for one just wanted to say thanks for the storage I was going to make a spot in one corner to store some of my stuff and then cover it with trees but now I can use the storage I think it is wonderful. thanks so much for the great game. This issue comes up in alot of Facebook games. I am starting to think FB requires a portion of the game features be based on this since they are a social network. I also suspect some of the advertisers may require it in hopes it increases the number of players to see the ads.

Before the storage I had no place to put any more buildings or whatever. On October 30th I was very thrilled. I immediatally bought a hunted farm house as I could store it after halloween untill next year. I stored my normal Farm house.
Today I wanted to put my normal Farm house back. First I stored the haunted farm house and then i wanted to put my normal farm house back. Now it's gone. 300000coins down the drain.
Very funny!
My advice : DON'T USE THE STORAGE!!!

I have kept playing for months now, but have to admit that I am now coming to the end of interest because there is no challenge left for me. The other games don't interest me, but I badly want new levels and extra land to play with in Farm Town ...... Please at least let us know if it is in the pipeline, however long that pipeline is ???????

With change comes pitfalls, with the new chage we are experiencing new technical issues with Farm Town. i.e. The loss of ablility to hire workers or to chat with long time neighbors.

FYI - I've seen a lot of posts about fuel and storage.

You cannot store fuel in your storage area.
The refuel option will automatically use any and all fuel gifts that you have accepted.

It is wonderful we can have storage...I just wish I could get to my farm to store my stuff. Has anyone come up with a fix to the problem of not being able to load farmtown. I posted on the 20th or 21st and have had minimal suggestions from other people who were having the same problem. My son in law who does computer work has uninstalled IE 8 and Adobe 10 and and reinstalled, gone thru my CPU and says he can't find anything. There has to be an answer to the problem. I am a level 32 and never had a problem until the 20th of Oct, which is when you added some new stuff then also.

Laurel, I don't know if this will help but when I installed IE8, I couldn't get anything to work on it. However, I typically use Firefox and I can still load Farmtown on Firefox just fine. Maybe try that? Or go back to IE7? I could be wrong, but I have a hunch the issue you're having is with your browser - not with Farmtown.

Well a couple of things:

First I LOVE that we now have storage (I felt it was coming when we got halloween themed items, especially for farm cash, and then Island Paradise brought it in...) BUT..

Why can't we store animals, trees, and flowers? Those are the three biggest things for me, and you can't neccessarily buy them (I am not high enough yet to buy all the flowers and you can't buy trees, and some animals you can't buy period) nor do I really want to (I am cheap, I don't care how many coins I have, I don't like spending them unnecessarily because if I do, something that I REALLY want comes up and I don't have enough coin...) Trees and flowers I *think* I can understand why they wouldn't be stored (they both have growing functions where they start out in one state, but then they can 'mature' to a different state) but animals? and with the trees and flowers, could just be treated as if you deleted them and then added them back without losing coin or gaining XP. I really want to rearrange my farm, but I have a ton of trees, flowers and animals that I would need to move and no place to put them.

Second, the neighbor adding thing, this has nearly turned me off of Facebook games in general. I know of at least two people who don't want to add random people to their accounts just to get neighbors. (I have added people, but I HATE HATE HATE the neighbor add page, it is SO slow and clunky to me) Plus, think of this, how many of us actually ONLY play farmtown? I am sure there are many that do, but I personally play Farm town, Mafia Wars, Castle Age, Ghost town, Island Paradise, just trying country Life, yoville, Knighthood, Battlestations, and Treasure mania, all of which you really need large friend lists to be able to enjoy them fully (I don't actually play all those everyday, IP I basically plant a few times a day, yoville, knighthood, Battlestations and treasure mania I play when I get the urge to, as is FT, the others though are my main ones) Now, I have added a LOT of people for mafia wars, and pretty much send invites to all other games to those same people, but most of them don't want to play any of them, so for each game I play, and others play, because of the emphasis on having 'crew/neighbors/mafia/army/whatever' you can easily get to the limit on FB friends if you play even a small handful of games. Both Castle Age and Mafia wars limit their players to really having an advantage with 501 members(they can have more, but they don't give advantages) so there is 1000 there (give or take a dozen or so for overlap) if you want to make sure you don't get killed when someone with a larger army/mafia attacks. Now add in FT, people who play Mafia wars and CA don't necessarily want to play FT, so there is another set of friends to be added to be able to play fully. And the more games you play (and while it seems like a lot of games to play, remember that each game usually has a set 'energy' that you use up and when you use it, you have to wait for it to regenerate, or you have to wait for crops to grow, so most games you play them, and once you get to higher levels, they go quickly (I can usually play Mafia Wars, Castle Age, Island Paradise, Treasure Mania, and Ghost Town, and now Country Life in probably 2 hours and that is a generous estimate, and most of that is waiting around waiting for pages to load and actions to be done, not actual playing, I stay on longer to chat with my sister, and to wait for my energy to reload in various games, most of the time it takes less because the energy takes quite a while to fully recharge, and you don't have to actually wait until it is fully recharged to play so I end up only have a fraction of the energy to use, and thus it takes a fraction of the time to play the game,even with full refills for leveling up, it takes very little time to play most games.)

EDIT: Forgot to mention that in nearly every single one of my games, I have a number of people who the game says they play the game, but even though I send them a neighbor invite (or whatever) they never do add me, it just sits there until I delete it and resend (in which case it sits there some more usually), which means that even though they play the game and I play the game, I don't get the benefits of them playing the game...

I can't think of anything else to add, like I said first, I do love the storage, just not fond of the limitations (and yes I went through and added a BUNCH more neighbors (they were already FB friends, just remember when I said I hate the FT neighbor page? i wasn't kidding) and got up to I think 123 storage (not sure, would have to check exact number)) I mentioned.

The whole aspect of farmtown is to promote social interaction. This is the reason there are neighbors and trophies and rewards for having neighbors. The developers have cut some slack with the invention of the solar powered tractor so people without enough neighbors can still plow their fields quicker.

What I dont understand is people not recognizing how the game works. I dont actually care to add complete strangers either, but if I want to play the game to its full potential having neighbors is esential. As I stated before, facebook lets you customize your account so that people cant see certain bits of information that you dont want them to see. You dont have to set up another account and once its done you dont worry about them reading or posting on your facebook page. They also cannot see what others write to you.


If not having neighbors is your thing and you just cant bring yourself to add people you dont know to your facebook account, then why not play farmville? Or my farm? Thats what makes farmtown different then the other farm genre games. Social interaction.

What I've done is stripped all my personal information off my FB account now. Not because of the new neighbours but because those that I want to know about me already do and those I don't want to know about me don't have anything to find out about. All there is on my FB account is some daft pictures of my dog plus my profile pic (which isn't up but in the album), and my email addy which people need to be added to my account anyway. I don't care about people seeing me cos they're not exactly going to know EVERYTHING about me from one simple picture. If I didn't want them to see it I'd just remove that too. So it's simple. If you don't want people to know about you, but want neighbours take ALL important information about you off the account and just leave the bare bones. If that's not enough then why are you wanting to play a game with involves social interaction on a social network?

I don't know if this is because of the update. But I had someone harvest for me. THen did a refresh. Everything was back as if it had not been harvested. Had a different person harvest. Same thing happened. Please help. I went back to reload from FB. Still the same.


UPDATE -- I just went back on after being on the forum and everything looks harvested now. But I am leaving this up in case someone else has this same glitch.

Not sure what is going on in farmtown but here goes, I have been a user for quite some time so I know what should and not be.... thanks for all your hard work...... when I got to the store, the chicken/cow and the bull are all pictures of cows. Many people are not getting their coins for harvesting. Last night I hired two people one harvested and the field looked empty.... so I hired someone to plow..... when they came to the farm it reloaded and the crops were back.... so I told him to plow and I harvested again... what someone had already done. then he was able to plow...... over the crops not harvested, when I harvested it turned to plowed..... wait it gets better.... I planted and used the new machine.... I was able to plant on what appeared to be plowed fields, when done planting..... then reloaded..... I had to re-plow the field... as I plowed the fields turned seeded.

So the question is.... why was someone able to harvest the entire farm.... I saw it harvested... and I come back from the market with my plow person and he was able to plow over crops. And then I was able to seed over un-plowed fields... seems like there are three views of the farm.... I harvested the fields and they were plowed, I planted then had to plow...... again..... what in the world?????????

My experience is that when I let others plow, then my farm gets messed up with stuff like this. Now I let them harvest, but I plow myself and I never have these kinds of problems. Sorry all you plowers out there.

Once you refuel, whatever fuel cans are in your gifts are moved to your fuel storage (upper left corner of game screen). If you want to save them for later, don't accept them in Facebook/MySpace until you're ready to use them. They can't be stored anywhere else, but they can be sold at the marketplace, if you prefer.

Is there a limit to how much gifts you can keep in your gift box?
I understand the limit is 104 for Farm Town.

I am also having an issue with my crops..... Plowed and then went to plant and cannot plant. I refreshed and crops are now NOT plowed and it won't let me re-plow them. Needless to say, my farm looks funny now because there are a lot of empty spaces that look like they need to be plowed, in between the areas that did let me plant crops. Will someone help me with this? One other person, in the market place, said they had to totally delete all of their crops and start over.... is this true? I love storage also! I was hoping it would be unlimited, at least at level 34. I was about to redo the whole farm because I was so excited I could put everything in storage rather then continually trying to move it out of my way.

At level 34, redesigning the farm is probably biggest perk since you can't work towards the next goal.

We just released a new version of FarmTown which provides support for the item storage and a couple of other improvements:

Item Storage:
-------------

1. Users can now move some of their items to the item storage. You can store up to 3 items plus 2 items for each neighbour you have, for example, if you have 10 neighbours, you will be able to store 3 + 2 * 10 = 23 items on your storage.

2. To add an item to the storage, click on it and select the ‘Add to Storage’ menu option.

3. You can access your item storage by clicking on the Storage icon and selecting the Items tab.

Bug Fixes:
---------

1. Improvements on the crop storage/coins/xp management when working for others.

2. Better instructions on the gas station.

3. The time-to-refuel counter now shows the correct time

4. A percentage of people (specifically those that had a lot of gifts on their gift storage) will be able to receive gifts again from their friends.

I don't think there is any need of storaging fuel tanks.
If you don't have any harvester/plower yet, you can keep them in your giftbox. And don't accept too many new until you buy one, the FB requests will wait for you, but I believe the giftbox is limited.

If you allready bought a machine, they will add to other fuel at next refuel. They won't go anywhere, as you can use your tank to the last gallon before refueling again.

I can't receive from one friend o myspace, it has something to do with broken links, but first you have to make sure your avatar name is the same as on myspace. I know some people have different names and their links work just fine, and some don't.

I'm so totally fed up that I think that I'm just gonna quit. I've been asking for and I have patiently waited for storage and then when it finally comes, it's with restrictions...more neighbors....that is just so wrong on so many levels! I'm at level 34 and I have plenty of neighbors but I also have alot of stuff. So this means that if I am going to buy any more items for my farm that are seasonal, in order to store them for later use, or in order to store anything, I've got to find new neighbors for each 1-2 items? NO! That's it. I'm done. I've been an advocate of this game since it's inception and have written plenty of times to support the developers when others would criticize, but this is just too much.

The "real world" has limits, restrictions, requirements, rules, laws - and so do most games. We learn to deal with them as best we can. Having a temper tantrum rarely helps anything.

I was going to say the same thing. It is a game. It is fun. You probably have enough money to buy things the next time around or people will give them to you. I have more Thanksgiving banners than I know what to do with, but such is life.
I think the whole thing is great. I started a second farm since I need land at the first one, and the second one is fun too.
All in all, I'm way too addicted to FarmTown :)

......... I am starting to think FB requires a portion of the game features be based on this since they are a social network. I also suspect some of the advertisers may require it in hopes it increases the number of players to see the ads.

EXACTLY my thoughts! Farmtown is a free game to play, Facebook is free (so far anyway) revenues have to come from somewhere to cover the costs of development etc.

For all of you who don't "Know what they mean about creating a seperate list" I will break it down for you. I know how you feel. I have kids so don't really like adding people I don't know just for a game, but fortunately they have this simple little thing you can do. go to your friends list and you will see "add to list" next to their name. You can create a list call it "apps" or "farmtown" or whatever you want. then go to your account settings where you can CHOOSE which lists you do NOT want to be able to see certain information. you can go as far to say you don't want them to view basic info even. as well as not seeing your wall posts or pictures... Happy Farming!

Since the storage was added I can't access my storgae for anything I have a tonn of stuff waititng to be sold but I can't get in. Is this a normal glitch or just special for me?

Begining about the same time as the new release my screen set up has changed and the top task bar(the one with experience points ect) and bottom screen (the one with my neighbors) are located closer to the middle of my screen thus interfering with my harvesting, linking to neighbors farms, chatting, plowing and so forth, I heard someone with a similuar issue in one of the markets. I can not locate a place to adjust this setting and know that it is not happening on everyones account.:eek:going bug eyed trying to keep my play area between these two task bars.

A couple of suggestions, Debie:

1. Right click anywhere on your farm screen and click on Show All.

2. Under View in the browser bar, click on Zoom and then on Re-set. (That's what is in Firefox, not sure exactly what the IE equivalent is.)

If you sell harvests you would have already used it. It is a storage shed bottom right in the game area. I thought everyone would have used storage before as you sell crop from the beginning of the game.

I have IE and that moves the top task bar but the bottom is still in the middle of whomever's farm I am at's information.......

Does this mean that you fixed the problem of not being able to start plowing until your avatar is finished, so you get all your harvesting coins?
