It seems like everyone in the marketplace just wants to demand specific jobs and your fuel. This only seemed to start when we started back up after the change from Flash Player. Is there anything coming that will make the game fun again such as when you added the layered fishing.

Hi Patriciabutler,
I moved your post to the General Feedback discussion thread about hiring. Everyone is free in the job market to pick and choose what jobs they want to do. What the developers are planning for future releases they do not tell us in advance. They are not working on anything new right now as they are still working to get all the previous features back into the game.

sorry for the cryptic title, first of all.
on a regular basis, i get 'called out' by neighbors for not working their facilities as often as they work mine. sometimes they're right, but it's a game, and nobody's MAKING them work my facilities, least of all me.
my reluctance is largely due to not having a train - for me, they are a waste of farmcash. as a result of this, the mayor doesn't lift a finger until i have worked AT LEAST HALF of the 'active facilities' on AT LEAST HALF of a neighbor's 'facility farms'. i'm not going to name names, but some of my neighbors average 70 (or more) facilities on every farm they own - half of half, do the math, that's a lot of clicks, and a lot of time.
long one short, make the 'special' train cars less costly, or lose the '10 car minimum on 2 or more trains', OR find a different way to get the mayor involved. it CAN be done, pretty sure there's enough interest from users to make it worth doing.
that's my rant, happy farming.

Hi Supertrucker,
If you want to make a suggestion please post it in the Suggestions section where we organize those by subject for the developers to see. You can not start a new thread there, but you can reply to one that fits your suggestion.

Two weeks in a row now, most of my hard work is lost because people don't do the jobs they agree to, and I move on with other parts of my day after hiring, then come back and boom- my crops went to waste. I've been playing this game since 2009 and left before for things like this, and stayed away for years, and now I'm considering it again. It's so frustrating.

I'm not getting any notification pop up saying that the person I have hired haven't accepted. All I see is the orange pop up and then a while later, the yellow pop up. I've also had that the yellow pop without the notification pop up so I've hired another person then 2 minutes later the 1st person I've hired is there doing my farm so there are 2 people working my farm. I like to hire people solo.
What colours do you get for not accepted, accepted and hired and waiting to accept?

The requests for specific jobs really didn't start then. I've observed this issue for a long time and there've been complaints about it for some time. If we are to pinpoint when it really started, I think it was when layering took off. First a lot of people were pointedly stating: NO LAYERS and then some other people saw an opportunity and started with LAYERS WELCOME and here we are. Although then again, when the pineapple crop was first introduced, people in the job market were all yelling for pineapple harvesting, so....
The fuel thing is more recent. And yes, it is very annoying, especially when it's people well enough advanced in the game to be able to source their own fuel. But perhaps we can trace it to the introduction of super neighbours, where fuel use for many people vastly increased. And of course there's far more now to spend farm cash on than in the early days of the game--I remember buying a flag way back when because there was hardly anything else!
Not to overlook that intense layering and fish stacking mean many people have mad amounts of fuel they are happy to share with the peons.

This game is New-User friendly... If you're new, you have no idea the one square, one harvest and plow routine... They have no idea how grateful folks were to fish (with a pole), countless clicking for a few fish...
Newbies don't need anything but time because they don't need fuel or tools... I find it vital to the game to help others, but seriously, if you're level 1275, you should at least have fuel...

I absolutely agree, you should have fuel at the top level. Hahah, sometimes we talk about the old days in the markets and I'm sure the noobs are horrified.

I too agree about the plowing stuff. I don't typically hire the same people to harvest and plow. Sometimes I just like to plow my own farm. If people don't want to harvest my crops without complaining about plowing I would appreciate if they would just leave my farm and I will hire people who are happy to be harvesting my crops.
I'm also kind of sick of people who think they are entitled to my entire farm when I hire them. I'll hire 2-3 people depending on the conditions in the market place. I don't have time to sit around and wait for people to respond. If I don't get a quick response there I move on to hiring the next person I see there which results in, sometimes, a lot of people hired. If you don't like it leave my farm and get hired at some one elses but don't tell me how many people to hire on my farm.
thank you for explaining how the multiple people hired tends to happen. it sure does help clear that up.

I understand why people want to h/p. It's one time across the farm if you have the combine and just h alone doesn't get xp. I don't like getting hired with others because we end up both doing the same work and one of us not getting credit if the processor is slow. If I do get hired with others I leave that farm. Each to his own.

Depends how many others. If someone's hired the whole market, I'm outta there. But where there's only one other person, and a lot of farms, I will continue working, but not on the same farm.

I am tired of people accepting a job for doing multiple chores and then only do one thing, such as harvest. Then they get mad at me if I hire someone to do everything they have left behind because they say it slows them down. I want a way to fire people.

Not sure where to ask this, but when did Experience Points go down from 30 to 1, when going to each neighbor and doing whatever task (like raking, watering, etc) pops up?

Hi Sonny4u2,
It is in the Game Guide chapter about Neighbors:
You earn 300 coins and 30 experience points (commonly referred to as XP) for each tending you do for a neighbour (watering, weeding or raking) in 24 hours. The limit if 100 tends per day. If you exceed this, then your experience points earned will reduce from 30XP to 1XP per visit.

I am not sure if it is ok to post my concern here. It is also about hiring but in my case posting work for neighbors. The Facebook version used to have the option "Game Friends" which is gone. Here, the new version, does not even show me my neighbors or where to post work for neighbors. Can you please help me to get this updated so I can participate with my neighbors again? thank you ~ Astrid

No one should have to remind everyone that when you are being hired for jobs at the market please do what you've been asked to do. There's been a few complaints in the groups that they've hired someone asking to be hired for so and so and then NOT finishing the job, or doing half a job and then leaving.
If you want to be hired for the 1 job only and you get hired to do everything you do have the right NOT to accept it, but if you do accept it do everything you've been asked. Remember YOU are the one losing out if you don't complete all jobs as YOU WON'T get the bonus chest. BUT NOT finishing also hurts the owner of the farm, as they are helping you get the things you need and then you just leave without explanation as to why. It's not on. If you feel you won't have time to do 44 farms and all jobs, don't accept it. Really, it's not that hard.
For some people, the bonus chest doesn't bother them, but that bonus chest helps you get extra coins, extra XP and extra products so it is worth getting.

This is the third time this has happened to me in the last month and I'm tired of it. I hired someone to work my farms in the morning. I waited for the 30 seconds and the bar with their name went yellow. I then hired another person. I got back to my farm immediately and the second person is working away when the first person (the one that went yellow) shows up on my farm and begins working. I told them to STOP and leave as their job had been "refused" (that's what the Yellow bar means, right?). They got very upset, calling me rude, and other things. Seriously, if the yellow bar doesn't stop them and I have no "firing" capability, what can I do? Nothing. Make the yellow bar cancel the request or give me a "fire" key. I'm tired of rude farmers horning in after they've already said they don't want the job.

Hi Jim,
I moved your post to the thread for discussion about hiring.
The yellow bar does not mean they have refused the hire. It means they did not respond within 30 seconds. Only the Pop up that shows tells you they refused the job. It is possible if they did not see the hire pop up immediately that they can still accept the job. It is supposed to expire after another time period, but exactly the amount of time we don't know for sure. So they are not horning in after they have refused the job because they have not done so.

Why when you hire you try to hire someone and it turns yellow so you hire someone else can the first person still be able to accept. It messes up the hiring process. If it turns yellow they should not then come back several minutes later and start working.

Hi Redjade,
It happens because the hire request has not gone away at the time it turns yellow. It does not get removed for them for a couple minutes, so it is not working the way it should. It could have to do with lag in that they don't get the request at the time it is sent, but get it lagged behind.

I'm not entirely sure if this is the place to question but it at least fits the theme a little while ago (week or two idk) I went to hire someone and there was a farm or something where I couldn't select because one category wasn't ready (say I have crops and trees on the same farm one or the other wasn't ready) but I did have multi-farms and multi-tasks (think others needed chopping or crops) yet for some reason I wasn't allowed to choose that farm... I think I eventually figured out why the game was being fussy or just chose not to select that task or that farm for the moment....
Yet fast forward to yesterday (and I have experienced it a few times) I had someone hire me for like all tasks (or almost all) on two farms and yet neither farm actually had any work for me? How was this even possible? Also I have a feeling this person has tried hiring me a few times and it's something I encounter with them a bit... I did take time to send a message to let them know the farms they hired me for had no work (in case they somehow assigned me the wrong numbers so they can at least select someone for the correct farms and/or so they don't assume I'm not doing my job if I was somehow hired for the wrong farms)
The same applies for when people hire me who assign multiple tasks yet you end up never doing a certain task.
Is the hiring practice a little buggy perhaps?
(Also note: I do understand and support the fact we definitely shouldn't be allowed to assign tasks and/or farms that aren't usable/workable - imagine searching through 47 farms assigned only to find 5 workable ones with like 5 scattered trees lol - that I think has happened to me also lol)

Hi illusions_fan1,
It's sounding like those that are hiring you may not be making use of the Show Work Info before they hire a farmer, to know which farms have work on them and what jobs there are to do before sending a hire request. It's possible that they may not know about that feature or may have forgotten about it. There isn't any way we can determine for you if that was the case when you were hired.
The game can only detect when the first farm you are hired to work doesn't have any work on it that you were hired to do. It doesn't detect that for every single farm and job you were hired for. Forcing it to do that when we have much bigger farms these days, far more farms than the earlier days of Farm Town plus the fact that a lot of farmers love to have every farm expanded to maximum with a massive amount of workable items is quite a considerable amount of data requiring an instant or constant update. Allowing that to happen would slow down the hiring process and the game for everyone. High end processes like Show Work Info which can be used to get the information any farmer needs to hire or see where their it farm work is, do have time limits on how often they will update to prevent the game slowing down for everyone.
A couple of examples for you on when the game can or can not detect when there is work on a farm for the farm owner hiring:
If a worker was hired for all jobs on farms 1 through to 4 but there was no work on farm 1 and that was the first farm they would get sent to, then the game would detect that and tell the farmer owner and they could then change the hire request.
If a worker is hired for the exact same things, same farms, there was work on farm 1, 3 and 4 but none on farm 2, then the worker still get the hire request for all 4 farms and would still be given farm 2 even though there is no work there.
Other things related to this kind of issue that farmers could consider when hiring are things like:
was the game reloaded before the farm owner went to hire
was show work info being used to determine exactly what work was available and where and did they use that information correctly when selecting both the types of jobs and the specific farm before sending the request.
if there are super neighbours that could have done the work before a hired worker got to that farm to work it.
if a farm is Private, then no-one can be hired for that farm

Thanks Tiger that's all very handy information to know! Although I am not 100 percent certain it applies to the hire I got 2 days ago only due to the fact it was 2 farms and both were already done That said maybe it's possible they had asked someone first who hadn't responded quick enough to their request so the person hired me and in the time it took for them to organize hiring me the original person ended up accepting and managed to it all before my request came through or something similar. As it was only 2 farms it might be possible to do it rather quickly.

Hi illusions_fan1,
It's possible, 2 farms can be done very very fast. There's no way to determine what actually happened. There are all sorts of possibilities. The farm owner would be more likely to have an idea of what may have happened.
Perhaps the the original worker didn't seem to be working, so the farm owner thought there was a problem and hired again. With it only being 2 farms I doubt they would have wanted to go to the trouble of trying to send the worker a message to find out if there were any problems.
I know I have had some replies from workers and something in real life just picked that moment to make them need to pause playing thinking they wouldn't be long at all. As I wasn't in any hurry for the farm work to be completed I had time to wait longer to see if they would start work or would reply to a message sent to them.
It could also have been a mistake by the farm owner and they didn't intend to hire for the same farms.

I hire super neighbors when I'm going to be away for awhile, unable to use the market and
still want my farms worked and planted. Most of the time I try to hire at the market. I usually have to ask at least 4 players before I can get anybody to work. I get frustrated by players who don't use the red or pink or other colors to identify what they're there for. People who are picky, unless it's for farm pass, are absolutely not getting hired by me.

I am really getting irritated with hiring in the MP. You post in detail with what you want done how you want it done etc. Then the person with whom you have hired does it the way you want. I see I have 2 choices here. ! is to quit paying for the farm pass and let my super neighbors do all the work rather than just plant or 2 hire 1 person for 1 or 2 farms. I really don't like either of those options. I like the rewards I receive from the farm pass and I like to helper 1 player with coins and xp. Since we won't ever get a fire button to boot the poor worker and automatically ignore the person so they are never hired again. I am left with those 2 choices.

Hi Max river,
You should not get another hire request while you have one open. It is probably as one is expiring since you only 30 seconds to view and accept it that another is showing up.
If you want to make a suggestion please post it in the Suggestions section where we organize them by subject for the developers to see.

Hi littlesallysanctus :)
I moved your post to the thread for Feedback about Hiring.
If it is possible, you may try different times during the day.
In my case, mornings are better to be hired and evenings to hire farmers.
