Is there anything we can do with the Grain Silo? No sure if I should buy it now

You can decorate with it.

This is a great new feature. I only wish, with two farms, that I could move my animals from one farm to another. My first farm is full of crops and overrun with animals with no room for the dairy shed or wool shed. My second farm has plenty of room, but with few to no animals, and my friends have stopped sending me stuff. I cannot buy any animals for the dairy shed. :( Could you make it possible to move animals between farms? Or make an animal available for purchase for the dairy shed?

I agree - all that has to be done is give the option to move animals to storage then you could use them on either farm. Basically you can do this when you accept them as a gift presently.

And as I said .... we don't need to know WHAT is coming .... just IF it is coming. It's worthwhile hanging out in Farm Town if we know that we are going to get little upgrades - no matter what they are as far as I am concerned - on a regular basis enough to keep our interest up and the magic in Farm Town.

Since I started playing farm town which was in June of last year we have gotten at least one update a month sometimes more then that. So I would say that an update once a month is a regular basis. I don't understand why people think the developers have abandoned farm town I see no evidence of that at all. Has there been a long time between updates? No there hasn't been. Yes there for a while we where getting an update about every 2 weeks or less and people got used to it but then the developers slowed down a little. That has to do with several things. One of which is fixing glitches and problems with the game, another one is developing new things for the game and making sure they work right before they release them. Both of those take time to do, I think we can all give them a little time to work on the game. I know other games out there have huge developing teams and release stuff all the time but they also have a lot of problems in the game and don't listen to what the players want or need in the game. Have the developers posted that they are not working on the game any more? No they haven't. Has there been some news from a reliable source that has said the developers are no longer working on farm town or that farm town is dead? No there hasn't been anything like that. I really don't understand why everyone thinks farm town is dead I see no sign of that what so ever, I think people just need to understand that farm town is not like other games on facebook and because of that we are not going to get some stupid little decoration for our farm every few days just so they can say they had an update. People have posted on here come on throw us a bone give us something even if it is some silly little thing. Then the developers gives us Valentines day stuff and people are upset because it is stupid decorations and not more land, levels, seeds, or what every else they wanted. I really don't understand people complaining all the time they are never happy no matter what they are given. If new levels came out tomorrow there will be people complaining because they are at the new top level and have no where to go. I said this in my last post I will say it again at some point they will have to stop giving us levels because there will be too many levels in the game. People will start playing the game and see that the house they want doesn't unlock until level 94 and cost 3,000,000 coins and think there is no way they will ever get that many coins or get to that level. Yes if they play enough they will but most people that play games like this will only play a few months and then get board and find something else to play even if they are not at the top level. I have seen tons of people do this and it has nothing to do with not getting new stuff every other day. Not everyone can spend hours playing this game everyday, they can't hang out in the mp all day or plant raspberries all day so they can level up quickly, so to them it will seem like they will never get to the really high levels.

Just curious why you guys didn't make it so that you can actually put your animals in their appropriate shelters for harvesting? I love the idea of harvesting animals, but find that with them roaming around it doesn't look that nice, but it also slows the game down. Any chance of adding that in the future? But thanks for another upgrade though, I always look forward to when something new is added!

Still would be real nice to have lots more crops!!!!! And maybe let us expand our farms a bit more?????

I'm at 710,000 experience points and something fresh would be nice! Thanks.

reply to JAS0643 post:
They still have candy baskets in the gifts section from back in october!!! I think rather than making a million changes and additions once every six months (which was really a treat I'm not complaining) they could spend a LITTLE time upgrading at least the gifts section! Farmville is way too crazy with upgrades every second day it's hard to keep up, but farmtown is definatly on the other end of the spectrum IMHO.

Feb 23 2010, 05:26 PM
I believe the earning of experience points should stop when you have enough XPs to reach the highest level. That would mean we all had to work our way through any new levels released.
I do not believe this would be a popular request though.

I think it's a great idea! I wish that would have happened months ago when I reached level 34 because with the upgrades I found myself at level 58, reaching level 60 in a week. I would much rather have had to work for the items I was given, the game is more fun when you have to strive for rewards.

the chickens do not go in them.. the reason for the shed;s are so that insted of clicking the animals one at a time you click the shed and it harvests them all your animals can placed anyplace on your farm just not in the sheds

I LOVE being able to simply click on the shed and bingo, the appropriate animals are harvested no matter where they are on the farm :D

Feb 23 2010, 08:34 PM
You can decorate with it.I was hoping you could just click on it and all your wheat, rice, corn etc would be automatically harvested :p

P.S. LOL at your answer :)

yes, thank you for adding the new buildings that we can harvest animals in, but why can't I move the chickens I have into the hen house? This is a waste of space to have these animals on the farm that are just taking up space that we cannot harvest anything from them.

As has been stated above, the animals don't actually go in the building to be harvested. You just click on the building when it's time to harvest.

I'm bored with them already, however.

The amount of coins to be made by harvesting the animals is nothing compared to the cost of the buildings or what you could make off the ground they take up by planting anything...even trees. Six chickens gets me 150 coins a day. The building cost me 30,000 coins. It will take nearly 7 months to pay for the building at that rate. Worthless.

I bought a couple of buildings. Deleted a few fields to make a place for them. Got my neighbors to send me a few animals and bought a few more.

Now the fun is over. I click on the chicken coop once a day and the wool shed every other day.

Boring.

And, my farm loads slower.

Nice try. I know people asked for this but I think it misses the mark.

While I'm with those who think it would be better if FT had smaller more frequent updates, I think it's a pretty cool game, especially considering it's free. Like any game it has its limits. Plowing, planting, harvesting, selling, buying stuff, repeat ... it's going to get old unless you challenge yourself to make something special of your farm. When I look at the farms others have created I am amazed at the variety and creativity. I am amazed at what people manage to do with crates and fences and walls. I've seen terrific forests and waterfalls, castles, skyscrapers, even a volcano. And some pretty remarkable farms that are just farms - they don't need to aspire to be something else. Sure, there's lots more the devs could do; people have made some wonderful suggestions, and there's plenty of additional things I'd like to have available. But for now I enjoy working with the challenges and limitations the game presents. In the end you get out of it what you put into it.

I'm having a problem with my avatar. When I have gifts - click on to receive them and it keeps saying - I'm busy - takes me ages to get them.

New to This
Feb 24 2010, 02:30 AM
I have a problem with a message that stays on my screen while I am harvesting. The message says that the crops I am harvesting are not yet ready to harvest.
I also have a problem with a message that stays on my screen while I am plowing. That message says that employees can only plow harvested fields or fields that have gone to waste.
Can anyone -- anywhere -- tell me what I can do to get rid of these messages. They really hamper my harvesting and plowing as the message get in the way as I work.
Absolutely love the latest release. :D

Feb 24 2010, 02:35 AM
Since the new release, I have not been able to plow the plots under my trees. I have in the past been able to use the same plot for double duty -- crops and trees. ???????
Otherwise, as I said before, love the new release. Thank you, Developers!!!!!!!!!!!

That link used to take the person clicking on it to your farm.
As for the "wait I'm busy" the only time I get that is if I am in the middle of planting or ploughing and I try to access something from the menu. Not sure if that applies to you .

Do you have the latest flashplayer installed?

Check your preferences (the wrench) to make sure that show trees is still checked.

Good idea about ditching IE. I used to use it and had problems initially with Farm Town. My technohead son told me to switch to the then 'new' Google Chrome and I have had a brilliant run with Farm Town ever since. ;)

I don't know if this has been asked yet but does it matter how many animals you have to determine how much money you will make from the milking, collecting eggs and shearing? I know you said too many animals would slow everything down so I am assuming it does not matter. But would like clarification. Thanks.

Thank you for the extra storage.

Now, there is a huge gap in the two and three day crops,
namely,
between 202 coins peas and 343 coins carrots
as well as
338 coins onions and 512 coins pineapples
that blackberry at 240 and rosemary at 431
do not adequately cover.

We need a couple of more seeds in there for the 2 day and the 3 day crops. :):)

FACT: The carrots image never shows in the harvests, when going to the marketplace to sell them.
QUESTION: Isn't it time to fix that? it is long overdue. ;);)

You know what? I never even noticed that !!

The animals do not have to be inside the sheds - just leave them roam. :D

Or fence them in around it. I did that with my sheep/llamas and the cows/goats, but am letting the chickens roam like my sister's (RL) ones do :)

winepress would be nice (hic) and I asked for lime trees so I can make margaritas (already have guava and oranges) As for the mill though, there is a watermill!

Concerning the Chicken Coop, Wool Shed, Dairy Shed
I bought and placed all three in both my farms and none of them are showing up. But if I try to place another one where the prevous one should be FarmTown acts as if an invisible object is there and won't let me. What is going on with the new feature?

Does no one else have this problem? It is not OS, machine, or browser dependent. Both of my farms have this problem independent of how I am viewing them. Does anyone know how to contact the developers directly? If I do not get a solution soon I am going to delete Farm Town from my Facebook account. I finally had something to spend my money on and I cannot because the feature is not working in my farm. I was already upset that they have left me at level 60 for months now.

I know that the app thinks the buildings are there because I cannot build on to of them and I am stopped from wqalking through the space where they should display. All my buildings were built on the Top edge, Upper Left of my farm. Because I cannot see the buildings I cannot even delete them to reclaim the land.

Does slashkey.com give any support themselves? Thanks for any insights. - m8
My farms are aMate Acres I & aMate Acres II
Many FarmTown farmers will be upset at losing me as a neighbor if I go. I have pleanty they do not.

Maybe someone has already said, but check if your Show Buildings is clicked? From other messages, I've gathered that sometimes settings get changed on an update.

Feb 24 2010, 07:14 PM
And again - animals do not go into the sheds - weren't meant to - don't need to - just have them on your farms!! Can harvest all - brilliant move I think.

And you can fence them around it: which is more realistic: who wants them indoors all the time. Too much manure to clear!!!

Jennie C.
Feb 24 2010, 07:16 PM
I love the fact that to harvest our animals we simply click on our appropriate building. I can't quite see me running around the farm trying to catch individual hens :)

Not to mention, if they are Well Behaved hens, they will return to their coop and lay their eggs in their nest-boxes. My sister's chickens (RL) do this!

Feb 24 2010, 07:26 PM

Quite aside from additions that are fun (and they ARE fun), my main entertainment from the game comes from the fact that my sister (west coast) and I (midwest) "meet" every day to harvest our farms. It's a nice 20-min chat with my sister every day, with a fun game that we both enjoy at the same time.

I think the new, "harvestable" animals are great fun. Would like some bacon to go with these eggs, but too many people around who don't want to kill even virtual animals (how odd is THAT?)

You can Freeze Animals to stop the slow-down problem. I guess most of the people I visit only have a "reasonable" number (whatever that is) of animals as I've not personally had a problem with slowdows.

However, sometimes I have to turn the sounds off because it gets quite cacophonous. I like the sounds of my own farm: the goat bleats are cute.

What is the visits farm under my post - click on it and it takes you to a deserted farm.

I wanted to expand a little on what Tony said about the link in your signature. At some point after joining the forum you clicked on link your farm at the top of the page. When you did that for some reason the wrong farm got linked. You can not get that farm unlinked from your account at this time. The developers know about this and are working on fixing it but we don't know when that will happen. I know you said you don't want a link to your farm in your signature and that's cool but if you ever do there is a way to manual create a link to your farm.

Thanks Tony - I get what you mean about the farm link now.

When you are trying to get into your gifts and are getting the I'm busy message, is the game still loading or just got through loading? If so that might be why it is happening just wait till the game finishes loading or wait a few seconds and try again.

I am trying to work up the courage to switch Browsers (still using IE7 ) Does G/Chrome have an adblocker ?

Chrome doesn't have an adblocker (that I know of) but other then seeing the adds they do not cause any problems with farm town. Now Fire Fox does have an add blocker and farm town runs great on it also. Trust me dump IE and go to chrome or FF and you will be mad at yourself for not doing it sooner. On FF it will import your favorites from IE for you so you will not have to set those up again. I don't remember if chrome does that or not, I want to say no but I'm really not sure.

Hi There,

We just released a new version with support for harvesting different animals.

Here is how it works:

Chicken Coop: Allows you to harvest the eggs of the hens and geese and sell the eggs at the marketplace. The Hen is a new animal that your friends can send you as a gift. You can harvest them once every day.

Wool Shed: This is a new building that allows you to harvest the wool of the sheep and llamas and sell the wool at the marketplace. You can harvest them once every 2 days.

Dairy Shed: Allows you to harvest the milk of the cows and goats and sell the milk at the marketplace. You can harvest them once every 3 days.

You just need to click on the animal building and select the harvest option. All the animals on your farm related to that building will be harvested at once. Note that depending on your computer power and other factors, having an exesive amount of animals on your farm can make the game slower.

The Dairy Shed has been moved from level 49 to level 27. A new Stone Cabin has been added on the level 49.

Also, your item storage capacity has been increased. Now you can storage 5 additional items for each neighbour you have.

Thanks

--Raul

How do you get the animals into the sheds themselves? I dont want them running around the place.

Seems I got my Chickens and geese in it as they are no where to be seen anymore. But the same method will not move the sheep into it. Or must I tolerate the things running everywhere and getting in the way?

Glad I held onto my useless coops instead of selling them, was rather upset that I wasted money on them, when I learned they were a decoration item only. Knew you would get with the program eventually. But how about a look inside feature so we can see how many we have in it. and make the things appear as though they have animals inside, my coops still look empty.

If there is a thread based on this new stuff I cannot find it so if you can point me in the direction of the correct place to ask these questions muchly appreciated.

As for the Best browser to use
Firefox and GOOGLE Chrome Rock, big thumbs up, Chrome is the more secure of the two browsers. As per all the geeky reviews.

I'm afraid that at this time, there isn't any way to move animals between farms.

My chicken coop has disappeared on me.....very frustrating! :p

I think it's a great idea! I wish that would have happened months ago when I reached level 34 because with the upgrades I found myself at level 58, reaching level 60 in a week. I would much rather have had to work for the items I was given, the game is more fun when you have to strive for rewards.

LOL the above was quoting another that said she wished XP would stop when we get to the top level.
l so agree with this! When new levels come out - none of us want to be there already. No fun!

I went looking for a couple more too, then to the gift section to ask for some to be sent, but have since realised that they probably took them out because they are very out of proportion in size with the new hens.

It would be nice to hear from the developers every week or so in this forum. Give us a few hints as to what we can look forward to next. I would even be curious to know things you try, that just don't work out. The whole Beta thing is intriguing as I've never been part of a game under development before. It is a lot of fun. I know others have commented, but I wanted to add my vote to this. Prior to being able to "harvest" animals, I had placed some on both farms. Now I want to keep my "animal farming" on just one farm where I will have the dairy shed, etc... But -- we need a way to move animals. Maybe a truck or something ?? Put the truck on one farm, put animals in it, and be able to take it to the other farm....????? We need something to do this !!! And, been at level 60 for some time now. Any hope of moving up soon ?

The reason I suggested it was at the last new levels release I jumped from level 34 to level 56 because of accumulated xp's. I currently have around 550,000 xp's and based on around 10,000 xp's per level I would jump around 22 levels (if they are going to release more levels).
If you look through this forum there are numerous complaints from people who are on level 60 and they want new levels- I believe it defeats the purpose if you jump straight through them.
I would like to see other incentives offered such ways to earn farm cash rather that just building up the xp's. Just my opinion though - to each their own :)

While I disagree with discontinuing xp after level 60 here's another thought. Since we cannot earm farm cash after 60 perhaps we could be compensated with farm cash for the extra xp (past 33300) instead of stopping farming at level 60. I have almost 600,000 xp right now. Then I would support stopping xp after level 60.

You do have a valid point, and I don't have a quick answer. I just feel that since I've continued to farm, hoping for advancement, it should count for something. I like the suggestions about still getting farm cash with points while waiting on new levels. I like this game, and will probably hang in for a long time, even stuck at 60, but something more to work for would make it more fun. No matter what, they will never please everyone. I just don't want it to die here. The longer it is before levels are added, the bigger the issues for those of us already "at the top"...... I am, however, having fun with farm #2, because I have almost totally stopped using it for crops, and have turned it into a replica of property I own and vacation at every summer.

Thanks

--Raul

I could care less about the animals and harvesting them. I want more levels and other items. Most of all I want my plus sign by my message envelope fixed that I have been asking about for almost 2 mos now.

I've just been browsing thru this thread. My word aren't there a lot of moaning minnies out there! FarmTown is my addiction - it's worse than crack! I don't play with fish, zoo animals, make war on other mafia bosses, build cities, run a cafe or any other app. I just like to grow things on FarmTown. Nobody MAKES me do it and if, for any reason, I get fed up with it, I will stop playing. What I won't do is moan and complain that everything that isn't to do with my particular interest (I like the flowers!), or that the Developers are ignoring my demands.

IT'S A GAME, PEOPLE, IT'S A GAME! It's supposed to be a dalliance, a decoration if you like, that enhances your life a little bit. Ease up on the Team! They do a fantastic job, with realistic and strangely scaled objects that slot together in a surreal way. Just love it, and stop being so mean!

One problem, I don't have room on my first farm for the new buildings, just hit level 44 and bought the second farm so I put them there. But there is no way to move animals on the first farm to the second farm and the buildings will not harvest the animals on the first farm. This needs to be addressed, either the buildings harvest animals on both farms or give us a way to move animals and trees to the second farm. Currently they can not be put in storage so they can not be moved that way.

You don't harvest the dairy shed, you harvest cows and goats. You have to have cows and goats on the same farm as the dairy shed. If you do have those animals and shed says it's ready, just click on the shed to harvest.

No, the animals don't go inside the buildings. They can be anywhere on your farm, but you can still harvest them by clicking on the appropriate shed once it reaches 100%. :)

I love the update and was pleasantly suprised at the coins paid for the animal products.
I apologize for this inquiry, but don't know where to post it.
I have 67 neighbors and can interact with all but one of them. This neighbor can see me, but I can't see him. I can't tend his farm even tho I can see leaves, dryness, etc. He sends hire request that I don't receive. We have tried everthing from refresh, signing out and back in of Facebook and going to mutual neighbor's farm. Nothing works. Is there a solution.

Look to see if by some chance you might have accidently ignored this neighbor. That happened to me and one of my neighbors..

As long as you have animals and the buildings on your farm, you can harvest the animals. You don't have to place the animals in the buildings or anything like that. Just place on your farm, let your animals run wild (if that's your thing) and enjoy the coins from harvesting them.

l don't know how many people already know this, but l just found out.
The little chicks ARE at the store. l think the hen showing last week was a photo error. l have also seen the hen in several of the other animals' spots on that page.
So, l guess we can't purchase the hen - just the little chicks, as before. l guess all the animals that 'produce' stuff can only be gifted with the exception of the llama.

One problem It has I don't have room on my main farm for all the buildings, just hit level 44 so I bought a second farm and put the new buildings there. Even after buying the farm and all 3 buildings I still have over 2 million credits. The problem is the animals I have are on the first farm and the buildings on the second. You can't harvest animals on the other farm and there is no way to move the animals from the first farm to the second. There is no option to store the animals to transfer from one farm to another. I bought a 20 sheep and 20 llamas but can't buy the other animals and most of my friends have quit playing so it's been slow getting cows and hens.

Hello amberlight.

Do you have any cows or goats on the same farm as the dairy shed?

As someone mentioned in an earlier post, if we could add our animals to storage, then we could move them from farm to farm. I have the same problem in that I have animals on one farm and the sheds on the other ... if we could move these animals, there would be much rejoicing (and wool production).

Does the harvest depend on the number of animals we have on the farm?

Hello mlpkraft and welcome to the forum.

Yes, the size of each harvest does depend on the number of animals associated with each building that you have on the same farm as the building itself.

If you have a chicken coop for example and 4 hens and 3 geese on the same farm then each harvest will credit you with 4 hen eggs and 3 goose eggs.

Please note that you will NOT receive any additional credit if you have multiple chicken coops on the same farm. The chicken coop (and the other buildings now associated with animals) is merely the method by which the animals are harvested and each animal may only harvested once in each 1, 2 or 3 day cycle.

I love the addition of harvesting the animals. For a long time I only kept a few animals to give the farm an authentic look, but now I a interested in having them because they are productive. After all, a farm only earns if it is producing something for sale.
I am among the many who hope eventually new levels will be added, as I have both farms at the maximum size now.
I still enjoy helping others by inviting them to harvest and plow, and also at re-doing difference aspects of my farm.
I really love the gnomes, and they have a special area around the stone houses on both my farms! I love this game!!

Please visit my farm!

Well after making sure that "remove spaces" is checked, click the save icon. Log out and back in. Should work.

ok thanks will give that a try next time i harvestHi Romansss, If you have removed the space between the fields on your farm then you have to have a tick Beside "remove spaces between field" on the preference menu. If you have not removed spaces between fields on your farm then the reverse applies.

Thanks for the updates, if you do plan more levels that would be great! Been playing for almost a year. Rocketing from lvl 34 to 56 when the last update didn't give me much to do but move on up to 60 quickly. Now I am just harvesting, plowing and sitting on level 60 waiting. Again if you add more levels I as well as other, will shoot on up with the coins and xp's that we have accumulated. Hard to keep it fair for all, I'm sure.

yes that is so true it's only a game and there are a lot of beautiful people you get to chat and help with their game along the way. I am addicted too, but since my farm town like many others has just dissappeared I am lost of having my time to myself at night doing little bits and pieces to my Farm Town, I guess the team will work out the problem in time and i will get my farm back

Hello aussie_angel.

Have you tried unblocking FarmTown as I suggested the first time you posted?

Here are the instructions on how to this again:

Click on the Account tab in the top right hand corner of the Facebook home page. Click on Privacy settings. Click on Applications and Websites. Click on Edit blocked applications. Click on Remove beside FarmTown.

This should restore the game.

I have been on Level 60 for quite awhile and find that it is getting boring because there is no advancement. Maybe adding another farm. ;) Three instead of two. FarmTown is getting boring for me because I can't advance.:( I also play Farmville. Suggestion: Add more levels, add more items to buy. :)

I've been at level 60 fiorever it seems. I have over 760,000 XP's. I would just be happy with more crops, it can't be that hard to do and more land, or add another farm. But before adding another farm I would like to see our original two farms grow by 25% or more. Love the game, just want to see it progress.

And in helping with this, if someone hasn't been active in a month delete their farm, this will free up tons of server space!!!

Thanks,

Every time there is a new release I end up with even more problems with the old problems not fixed. Loading my farm has now gone from 20 minutes to taking 45 mins to load ... ridiculous!! To go from my 1st farm to my 2nd farm takes about a 1/2 hour. Forget trying to get hired because by the time I get to the farm everything is done:mad:. What is going on?????? I am now on WF42 and this is when the NEW problems appeared. Oh and by the way, it is constantly "Retrying" during the load, I am constantly being booted out, constantly receiving the "Connect to Server has Timed Out", all the fun has gone out of this game:(

Sounds more like computer or ISP problems to me. I have the latest upgrade just as you and have no problem, in fact everything is speedier than ever.
You need to check out possible spy ware and tracers with a good virus program like Norton 360 for instance.
Why always blame your problems on a program. Farm Town program seems to be very well written and the functions work on my computer, with minimal, if any, problems and those are usually self generated!

Can you actually speak to your neighbors and friends in Farm Ville? NO! Can you do any inventive decorations, like making waterfalls, for instance in FarmVille? NO! Can you work on your neighbors property...harvest for them? NO! Can you plow your neighbors land? NO! Can you strive to be among the top ten farmers in Farm Ville? I am not sure, but the game is nothing more than constant clicking...I find that pretty boring myself!

Do you have an old computer with very little ram on it or a very slow internet connection? If the answer is yes to either one of those then that is your problem. Farm town takes at least 1 gb of ram to run really more then that is needed in my opinion for it to run fast. If you are on dial up that is a big part of the problem games like this are not made to run on dial up you really need a high speed internet connection.

I cannot get my chicken coop to harvest. Everytime I click on it, it states 100% ready to harvest but when I click Harvest chickens....it does nothing and still states 100% ready. What am I doing wrong?

Just do be sure, do you have some hens or geese on your farm? The chicken coop is just the mechanism for harvesting, it's the animals that get harvested. And they have to be hens or geese (both of which you can only get as gifts) - the animals called "chickens" that look more like baby chicks don't count.
