I think that the facilities are a waste of time and coins. Who wants to keep planting wheat and sugar cane? That's the only way they work. The dairy shed, chicken coup, the wool shed are okay as long as you can get friends to send you the animals as gifts. DO AWAY WITH THE FACILITIES OR MAKE THEM MORE USEFUL
You can plant other things as well - you don't need huge amounts of these things - I think they're great and a lot of fun as well. :D

Umm maybe I'm really out of it but I can't see how my dairy processing plant works at all. I thought I started processing cheese and butter and it shows using my milk being used but nothing absolutely nothing else happens. What am I supposed to be doing? I admit I'm a novice but can't figure this one out!

You need to click on the words 'what's cooking'. This opens a new tab and shows how the products are progressing.
Once they are at 100%, you can send them to storage ready to sell.

I have bought a dairy processing plant, and after harvesting the milk I have chosen to process into butter and/or cheese. It tells me that it can be harvested in 30 minutes or 4 hours. But when I go back to redeem product, there is none, and it won't let me try again. Am I doing something wrong with this new addition?
Only one facility per farm?? Why?? Where does the product go when done??

I don't know why only one, but it's one of each type of facitlity....not one facility.
Once the product is done you send it to storage and sell it.

I planted 600 crops of sugarcane then harvested them and put them all into the refinery. I do not have to touch the refinery now for another 5 days now and I will receive 120,000 coins for an outlay of around 30,000 coins. I don't have to plant sugar cane for another 4 - 5 days now.

Harvester the same still works but only one at a time...... anything I have done or can do? I am on level 80 has this anything to do with the problem?

I'm glad you did the math on that. I was racking my brain for a while because I was starting to think that the process of turning the cane into sugar was losing money rather than making it.
But this makes much more sense now.

Hi the problem is most likely in your preference settings (wrench icon) if you do not have a tick beside "remove spaces between fields " put one there. Hope this helps.

I just bought the Dairy Facility. When I click on the facility it tells me I need one more cow to produce the butter etc. Same for the goat. When I click on the facility it does not tell me how to get the cow or goat in the facility. When I scroll my mouse over the facility it only shows I can move, sell or store facility. How do I get the products to sell. This is not explained very well. Do I move the animal to the facility or what?

Hi there,
I've loaded over 100 units of wheat to my red windmill, and I now can't get it to even tell me what's happening, let alone see where my flour is. It's been 2 days so far. Please help!
Cheers,
Kate.

What you need for the dairy facility is milk. This post explains how to get the milk with the dairy shed..

Once you've 'harvested' the goats and cows, then you go back to the dairy facility and the milk will be added when you click 'produce'.

My problem was mostly that I couldn't get any access to the function details once I'd loaded my wheat. When it DOES open, I can see what's going on, but it's been really unco-operative!

You need to have the dairy to get the milk from the cows and goats. Once you have the milk from the Dairy you can then process it in the Dairy facility. You do this by clicking on the facility and clicking on "show facility details" From there (providing you have enough milk) you can then produce the butter, cheese etc. I hope this helps

How do I get my cows and goats to produce cheese, butter etc. It tells me I need a cow or goat in storage. How do I do that so I can harvest the stuff?
It tells me to Add One More Cow or Goat Milk to storage. What storage are they talking about? Where I store other items I can't use? That is the only storage I can find and when I click on the animals it does not show that we can store them. Help please! I bought this expensive building and can't use it.

You must have the dairy shed on the same farm as your cows is this what you have?
The problem was that I didn't own any cows or goats. Once I got a cow, the system began to work.

EUREKA!!! :) [I think]
I figured out how to keep my stone windmill in semi-continuous production. I had a batch processing and decided to see what would happen if I clicked on "Start Production" while the mill was already working. Voila! 10 units of wheat went into "Pending" and one XP popped out! So I added a few more. I now have 35 units pending, one in production, and one produced (in addition to what I have already produced). Now to just figure out how much wheat I can add to pending before the mill either grinds to a halt or eats my wheat without making flour!;)

I am a level 80 farmer in FarmTown. I calculate what is the best way to make money with the various crops, trees, and animals. I have what is called a "daily yield ratio" figure by which I'm able to determine what is the best use of my time, land, and money to invest in. The recent Facilities updates that use Cow Milk are simply not worth the time.
The reason I say that is because by the time you divide the number of units (20 units & 6 units respectively) it takes to create one unit of Butter or Cheese, you lose money in the process of doing so. In order for your unit cost to beat selling the Cow Milk itself directly, Butter would need to sell at $2041 per output unit (currently at $140 per output unit), if you had 20 cows. Or if you wanted to to sell Cheese you would need to sell each Cheese unit at $625 per output unit (currently at $600 per output unit), if you had 6 cows. So don't waste your time trying to produce butter and cheese. It will put you behind.
However, if you have at least 8 goats, it it still worth your time to produce Goat Cheese. The Sugar production from Sugarcane is definitely worth your time.
I am also a level 80+. I think you're using the batch and unit numbers incorrectly. Each milk harvested will produce one batch of whatever you're producing. So, if you have 4 cows your 4 harvested milks are enough for 4 batches of butter or 2 batches of butter and 2 batches of cheese, etc.
The way I figure it I don't agree.. You can harvest your milk 3 times per day but let's assume for this discussion that you do it just once per day. You would make 35 coins on each goat milk and 30 coins on each cow milk if you sell them with no production.
If you produce butter with the cow milk you can produce 1 batch/20 units per milk harvested and collect $140 in coin for each batch. The dairy facility will allow you to produce the butter every 30 minutes or 48 batches per day. Those 48 batches of butter will pay you $6720. You also receive 1 XP when you start production and another when you move to storage (I believe that's correct). If sold as milk the 48 would pay you only $1440 in coin. You come out $5280 ahead by processing butter. You could do this with only 16 cows if you harvested them three times per day or 24 cows if harvested twice daily. Twelve cows on each of two farms isn't too many.
If you have only one cow and harvest it only once per day you will have enough milk for 1 batch/20 units of butter. That butter will pay you $140 in coins and 2 xp's where the direct sell of the milk is only 30 coins. Where do you say you come out behind?
You can process 8 batches of goat milk per day and 4 batches of cow cheese per day. Butter and goat cheese are the way to go but a little cow cheese is good if you start getting too far behind on production of butter.
The goat milk processed as cheese is an even better deal. With 8 batches processed per day here's how I figure it... 8 batches times $960 per batch nets you $7680 per day in coin. If you sold the milk directly you'd receive only $35 per milk for a total of $280. You come out $7400 ahead per day. It would take only 4 goats, harvested twice daily to have enough milk for maximum production.
My numbers will become invalid and the take will increase when they allow for the faster production soon.

Once they're at 100% under the 'what's cooking' tab, you click to send them to storage, and then sell them at the market place like any other harvest.

After reading all of these questions and problems (repeated time and time again by different posters) that have been answered time and time again (some of you people that answer questions five times over without blowing a gasket are amazing), I have started thinking that my computer must have been blessed by a higher power and that I am a lot smarter than I give myself credit for. I had been away for a few days and didn't learn about the new facilities until yesterday; I have already purchased and put the facilities in to use and have produced and sold product ... all with no problems or disappearing act by anything and it was all so simple that I didn't even have to hunt for instructions on how it worked. My only reason for visiting this forum was to see the inevitable complaints on the new updates and to see how many people complained about it not working before they bothered to actually play with it for a while or read the instructions before coming on here to say it doesn't work.
I was pleasantly surprised to find the number of people that were actually happy with the upgrade, and join them in saying GREAT JOB FARMTOWN ... You have once again given me reason to spend more time playing this game than I should and although I know that I should be spending the time on the treadmill or something, I am really enjoying all of the wonderful changes that you have been making. Keep up the good work :)
How do you sell the items from the faclitites??

I put 970 wheat fields in my Stone Mill this morning and it's working fine. Enough for two days of production.
I put 1710 sugar cane fields in my sugar refinery yesterday and it's working as well. That's about two weeks worth of production.
I've got enough goats milk in the dairy plant to keep it going for two days and I'm adding to it as I can harvest milk.
I don't think you can overload these things. I just keep clicking until I run out of wheat, sugar, or whatever in storage. It give me the xp's and starts working.

Click on the facility.
Click on "Show Facitlity Details"

Hover the mouse pointer over whatever you have that is done and click on "Store". This moves things over to your storage.
Go to the MP and sell just like you would crops or milk, etc.

You have it exactly right, as near as I can tell.
The one thing I would add is that while the butter is more profitable it does take quite a few more cows to keep the plant busy for maximum profit. You can keep busy making cheese with just 3 harvested twice a day while you're right you need 24 harvested twice a day to keep butter production constant.
Not sure I want to devote the space needed for 27 cows to keep the cheese and butter production going full time.

OK...maybe I am missing something here, but in the dairy facility, it says butter sells for 140 coins, goat cheese 960, and cow cheese is 600 coins. Ive made all 3 of these products but, in my stored harvests, it says the butter sells for 7 coins, goat cheese sells for 120 coins, & cow cheese is 100 coins.
The flour is supposed to be 3000 coins, but my storage also only says 600 coins. And for sugar, my storage says 200 coins, but the facility says 2000.
I went to the marketplace and clicked to sell them, but the prices didnt change so until Im sure of what is going on, Ill hold onto the products I have for the moment.
Outside of this issue, I think the new capabilities on the farms are awesome. This is a great upgrade.

No one got pissy at you. If you want to sell it, fine, that's your prerogative, but you don't need to create drama here when multiple people tried to help you. If you actually click on the things you see, or mouse over them, you'll figure it out.

It does get confusing. The prices you quoted first are correct. The lower numbers are the unit prices. For butter there are 20 units per batch. At 7 coins per unit you will get the 140 for the entire batch. It's the same with all the others. Multiply the unit price times the number of items in a batch and it will equal the higher number.

So...I haven't played in a while and I'm wondering..where do you get the hens and cows and llamas, etc to put inside these facilities?Hi Ms Meow, most of the animals have to be gifted to you from neighbours. The animals do not go in the facility. As a simple guide - you need the dairy shed + cows and/or goats to get the milk to use in the dairy refinery. You need harvested wheat in storage to use in the stone mill to make flour and you need harvested sugarcane in storage to use in the sugar refinery. I hope this helps.

You don't put the animals INSIDE the buildings. Anywhere on your farm is good.
First, you need a coop in order to harvest hens and geese. You can only acquire hens as gifts from neighbors but you can purchase geese from the store where you purchase seeds. You will need a coop on each farm if you have these animals in both places.
You need a wool shed to harvest wool from sheep and llamas. The sheep are sent as gifts but you can purchase llamas from the store where you purchase seeds. Click on the animal tab. You will need one shed on each farm if you have sheep and llamas on each farm.
For cows it's a little more complicated. You need to have a dairy shed in order to harvest the milk. If you have cows and or goat on both farms you do need one shed for each farm. Then to make milk or cheese you need a dairy processing facility, which will produce the cheese and butter.
If you have two farms you need only one dairy processing facility. Since you move milk from storage to the facility it will handle all of the cows and goats from both farms. You do need a dairy shed on each farm.
For the sugar refinery and windmill, you only need one to service both farms because you take crops from storage to get them into production.
For each facility you CAN have more than one but only one per farm will harvest or produce.
Hope that helps.

What the heck... hide them under your trees or buildings. LOL!
Actually, I'm somewhat anti-FT animal. I was fed up with the chicken coop and wool shed after about a day and a half and sold them and the animals.
If it wasn't for the new facilities I still wouldn't have any "farm" animals.
Plus, I like points. Clearing fields for things like dairy sheds and production facilities is a big step for me. But, it's actually been quite fun so far.

Not sure but may have something not working correctly with my flour production facility (red windmill). Under "Things To Produce" when I click on the "Start Production" blue bar, it says - "This facility cannot produce flour at the moment. To start this production, you will need to add 5 more Wheat to your storage". I have 5 units of Wheat in my storage; if a batch is 5 units why will it not use the 5 units I have in storage. I currently have 135 in Pending and have already processed some. I just don't understand why it will not use the remaining 5 units of Wheat I have in storage. Any suggestions?

Ummm My buildings also do not hide is this a glitch or is this meant to happen with the new release's ???
mine hide but I cant plant under any of them now , just trees. How do i get the other program back? I havent tryed the Green man yet. I noticed when we got the option of speed for harvesting, I lost my multibule seeder. When I hit the green man I got the seeder back. Sooooo my next question is what kicks in the speed for harvesting others farms? Cant find a tab for that, but a drop down comes down and asks if I want to contenue. 8*)

It takes 10 wheat to make one batch of 5 units of flour. If you have 135 pending then you loaded 270 wheat.

Please reduce these times.Hi QuietJan, Taking the sugar cane as an example :- Sugarcane sells for 133 coins - if you put 10 in the facility you will get 200 for it. This represent a pure profit of 670 coins every 2 hours. Given that you can load over 8 days (not sure of the upper limit) worth of sugarcane into the facility and have it generating around 8,000 coins extra a day for you, I think it is great.

The sugar refinery is a terrible awful idea for anyone with a large crop. The stupid thing takes 2 hours for 10 squares to process. I had 1010 squares and it hasnt even gotten past the 900s and its been at least one day. 2 hours for 10 crops thats 20 hours for 100 squares and I have 1010!!! thats 100 hours... WHAT, about 5 days!? I would have been better off just planting pineapples than wasting my time with something so terrible. I am far too impatient for that nonsense and would have made more of a profit just re-planting sugar cane. My honest opinion is the facilities are worthless in large number.

Why is everyone in such a terrible rush - just let the things process away - if you have excess sugar or milk and can't be bothered waiting - just sell it. It's just an option - and a very exciting one I think. I'm grateful for it - gives a new dimension to the game. :D

Buy putting the sugarcane in the refinery you are making an additional 67 coins per plot than if you had just sold the sugarcane ( around 7,000 a day) and for the next 5 days you can plant whatever you want in your field while the refinery is working away in the background making you money. The 1,000 plots will make you an additional 67,000 coins and 100 xps - I personally would not call that worthless.

But mandie is right to have to wait 5 days just to make an extra 67 coins per plot is a waste of time. if you plant peppers twice over 4 days you make a lot more coin for a day less I think it is a waste of time too.
Peppers 378 per plot over 2 days so 4 days is 756 and a day less instead of 178 over 5 days.

Riiight...but you are not compelled to use only your plots or your refinery. Plant Cane or something one day, then let the refinery cook it down WHILE you plant peppers or something the rest of the time.
Its called "residual income" in the real world- income that is generated without your presence or activity. Yes it's slow, but it is over and above what you would get anyway, and it isnt costing you effort.
Furthermore if you noticed, they are working on a way to speed the process up with the interactivity of your neighbors. Be patient :-)

But you aren't waiting.
Once the sugarcane is in the refinery then you can plant all the peppers you want.
Now, if you want to argue that the plots that are taken up by the facilities would be more profitable doing something else, ok, you may be right. Or, if you really need the coins right now and can't wait...I understand. But, the refinery doesn't impede your ability to continue to plant whatever you want. It really is extra coins and something else to do in the game. By my calculations, my stone windmill, dairy facility and sugar refinery will produce about 59,000 extra coins per day. I could do better if I had more cows and I'm planting wheat which is not something I would normally do.
I could certainly argue that I would make more coins and points without the facilities but they certainly aren't a disaster either.
Besides, Tony told me I need to slow down a bit. ;)

hang on....how do you have three concurrently functioning facilities? I thought the announcement said one per farm. I assume you have two farms, but that still leaves you one short. Are you counting extra accounts and separate farms or something?
You can only have one type of facility per farm that will actually produce goods, although you can have several other instances of the same type of facility for decorative purposes.
I interpreted this to mean you can only have one facility per farm....should it rather mean you may have only one of EACH type of facility per farm?

Regarding the refineries...I put two full fields of sugarcane into my refinery. It's already been 1 1/3 days and it still has 1890 units to process. At 10 units per every 2 hours that's 378 hours over over FIFTEEN FRICKING DAYS to process the two fields.

You comments? OR comments from others?
Thanks for the math on this. Will come in handy when I update the data sheet. Also, I don't believe you get 1 experience point for moving the finished product to the store. At least I don't. Maybe the moderators can clarify that one for us.

what it means is that you can only have one windmill that will work one sugar plant that will work and so on. if you have to windmills only one will work but you can have one of each facility's and they will work since they each produce seperate items

Why is that a problem? Unless you are so strapped for coins and you need them now. In that case planting something else is probably a good idea. It doesn't prevent you from continuing to plant and plow.
Plus, we don't yet know the affect on processing time once it becomes interactive with your neighbors.

Unmitigated stupidity is loading the thing with days' worth of sugar, knowing that it takes 2 hours to process one batch.
You get extra xp for using it - 4 points (1 for plow, 2 for plant, 1 for processing) and extra coins for sugar. If you want to make your farm a sugar farm, it's a BAD IDEA, if you want to process all of it. But if you want to augment your farm with a little sugar, it's a GOOD IDEA. It makes a short crop a lot more useful.
It's not unmitigated stupidity just because you didn't do the math.
Oh, and you can sell any batches that are already done once they are finished. Just put the finished product in storage, so if you really need the coins nownownow, you can get some of it.

I understand that however that does not explain why it only shows 850 Wheat when I put in 1360. I am not talking about batches of flour made I am talking about the fact that I loaded 1360 wheat in to be processed and it shows that I loaded 850. This was before any processing takes place. I should have 272 batches of flour done after processing. Instead I get 171. That leaves 101missing. I am loosing 303000 coins.

So i have 10 days to wait to get my money back. WAY too slow imo. It's going to taek forever just to make the $200k back i paid for the refinery.

But mandie is right to have to wait 5 days just to make an extra 67 coins per plot is a waste of time. if you plant peppers twice over 4 days you make a lot more coin for a day less I think it is a waste of time too.
Peppers 378 per plot over 2 days so 4 days is 756 and a day less instead of 178 over 5 days.
but you have to remember not everyone lives on farm town like we do lol they can't be here as much .. so in that instance the new facilities are really great.. plus you can plant a bunch of the wheat or sugar and harvest it. send it to the factory then go about planting other crops while they are being processed .......

I guess it just goes to show we all play for different reasons. I personally couldn't care less about the return on the investment I just like to play the game, meet my harvest buddies in the morning, and decorate. Just goes to show different players have different things that are important to them.
Not everyone will buy the facilities but will still enjoy the game.
I did buy them and am enjoying having something to generate income besides crops, even if other players consider it a low yield.
IMO the new facilities are FUN!

I am having the same problem with sugar.
The facilities don't show how many wheat, sugar or milk you put in them. They show how many of the new units are done and/or pending.
For example, the mill doesn't show how much wheat you've put in but how many units of flour it's made or making.
Sugar, though should be the same. Sugar is one for one. One sugercane for one refinded sugar. So, what's done and pending should add up to what you put in.
Mine has been spot on so far and I put over 1700 sugarcane in and about 1000 wheat.

I have two farms, one for crops and one for stuff. Do the crops or animals to be harvested and produced be on the same farm as the facilities are or is it only based on your storage? I had a windmill already but when I harvested my wheat on my other farm, the windmill didn't seem to work. I'm confused. I need to know since i plan on purchasing the other industrial buildings soon now.

- a) you could still plant and harvest two lots of peppers during the 5 day period . Therefore having the best of both worlds.
b)You do not have to wait the 5 days - you can store and sell the batches of sugar as soon as they are ready. In effect ,on the first batch of ten sugars you could make a extra profit of 670 coins in two hours.
I think a lot of people are forgetting that once you harvest the sugar cane you are free to plant whatever you like in the field and just let the refinery keep ticking away making you extra profit.

Well said Tony! I just plod along with my one little farm but am having a lot of fun here. Have so many cows and goats I keep selling the milk because I still have heaps in production - would be clicking all day to send all milk to produce -and waiting weeks for it to become butter or cheese. Have the best of both worlds - production going plus excess milk to sell.
My friends used to laugh at all my animals - not any more they don't!! :D

It is based on your storage. You could have a farm full of wheat, sugar and animals and the facility on another farm, and still produce.

You are correct. I checked when I did my next move to storage and clarified it with Molly. You get 1 XP when it goes to production and that's it.
I also found some corrections to be made in the amount the harvester receives on numerous crops. I also gave that information to Molly.
Thank you for all the hard work you're doing. :o) The mods make FT a much more enjoyable game because we have a place to ask questions, voice our suggestions and get information on current problems.
The list isn't complete yet. I have one more plot to harvest tomorrow. You can get the info from Molly Mew.
I was checking on the amount the harvester is paid. I haven't gotten to the others yet. The only reason I did it was because the amounts paid to the farmer for hired harvest and the amounts paid to the harvester didn't seem to coordinate properly.
janisko, I have planted all the crops you can plant, I have multiple accounts and farms, so I can harvest in many different options. I self harvested to direct sale, self harvested to storage, and hired harvest. I hired myself to harvest (from another id), and checked all my numbers on my data sheet, and I haven't found anything wrong with the numbers for any of the harvesting options. Could you please expand on what is wrong when you calculated things?

I have used all 3 and the sugar and dairy mill seem to work just like they should, getting things done in the time it is supposed to. Here ya go David... I was looking at what the hired harvester is paid per plot, comparing it to what is at the Uncle Joe site and the official FT site.
Edited to add... my columns didn't print correctly but the first number is what was on the Uncle Joe (plowed by neighbor chart). The second column is the official FT number and the third number is what I was actually paid as a hired harvester.
Crop Uncle Joe (Plowed By Neighbor) Official Actual
Chart
Beets 18 17 20
Squash 16 17 17
Basil 23 25 24
Asparagus 18 19 19
Sugar 26 28 27
Eggplant 28 29 29
Sage 30 32 31
Blackberry 58 60 60
Rosemary 104 108 107
Broccoli 88 92 91
The numbers shown in the "actual" column are what I was paid as a hired harvester when I did my test over the last few days. I hired my other identity to do the actual harvests. I did not compare crops where Uncle Joe and the official site were in agreement.

By "dairy buildings" I assume you mean dairy sheds. Do you have cows and/or goats on your farm? You can't harvest unless you have the corresponding animals that go with the particular building. In the case of the dairy shed that would be cows and/or goats.
Once your milk is in storage you can then use the dairy processing facility.
You need one dairy shed on each farm if you have cows and/or goats on each farm but you need only one dairy processing facility that can be shared by both farms.

Have you gone to the dairy facility, opened it and clicked on WHAT'S COOKING? That will show you how much is done and how much is pending. When you want to move it to storage, just click on STORE and it will move the finished product to your regular storage so you can sell it at the MP.

We just released a new version of FarmTown
You can only have one type of facility per farm that will actually produce goods, although you can have several other instances of the same type of facility for decorative purposes.
Enjoy!
Thanks,
--Raul
Hi There, :):)
why only one facility actually producing goods??
do you know that
the code can multiply the number of facilities times the production rate (of one facility)
and compute the total production rate?? ;)
Rhetorical question; of course you do!!
so why not implement it?
Why would you handicap your software application
by not implementing the total production rate ?
what gives ??

Sugarcane when refined into sugar becomes 200 coins instead of 111.

I have just harvested fields of wheat and gone to produce flour they were then sent to produce flour so they amount of wheat is no longer in my storage except the nine units I have left.

The third number after each crop is what I got as a HIRED HARVESTER. You get a lesser number of coins when you self harvest. There is nothing to add or subtract. I have two identities and planted a single square of each crop on one of the farms. Then I hired my other identity to harvest them.
I did make one mistake on beets. I show the official number incorrectly. Both that and the actual number are 20.

I have still not been able to get either my dairy or sugar facilities to produce. I keep starting production (I have plenty of sugar cane, milk, etc. in my storage) but nothing ever happens.

Put them into production. After a few hours go to "What's Cooking" and highlight the bar. It will say STORE which moves it to your storage from which you are able to sell it.

Hi There,
We just released a new version of FarmTown which contains support for new facilities.
Enjoy!
Thanks,

Hi there Raul;
The sugar production rate and the flour production rate are poorly balanced to the production capacity of the land.
A 1000 lot farm produces 1000 wheat units every 40 hours.
Just balancing the facility production to the land production means
that the windmill should process the 1000 wheat units in 40 hours, i.e. processing 25 wheat units per hour.
Likewise for Sugarcane :
A 1000 lot farm produces 1000 sugarcane units every 12 hours.
Just balancing the facility production to the land production means
that the sugar mill should process the 1000 sugarcane units in 12 hours, i.e. processing approximately 84 sugarcane units per hour.
Given than beets and grapes grow in 4 hours, it is reasonable to desire the sugarcane and wheat processing to complete in 4 hours for a batch of 1000 units, produced by a 1000 lot farm.
This requirement leads to the following processing capacities:
1000 units of crop be processed in 4 hours i.e.
a processing rate of 250 units/hour.
The current processing rate of 10 sugarcane units every 2 hours is simply preposterous, as it is
2% (yes two percent!!) of a reasonable processing rate; (5 units per hour versus reasonable rate of 250 units/hour).
So is the processing rate of wheat; at 10 wheat units every 30 minutes it is worse than snails pace at 8% (eight percent !) of the reasonable processing rate ( 20 units/hour versus reasonable rate of 250 units/hour).
I know that you guys want us to enjoy the game. :):)
Please adjust the mills' processing rates to 250 crop units/hour.

does the volume of the dairy barn increase with the number of cows and goats on the farm or is it a set amount that the dairy barn produces? Should I continue to collect the cows and goats to increase my dairy barn output?
thanks

If the sugar refinery only processes 120 sugarcane a day then only plant 120 sugar cane per day - if the mill only processes 120/480 wheat per day then only plant that many.

No, I don't like your suggestion;
you can play your way,
I want to play my way. :):)
This sort of reasoning would never bring about the industrial revolution.
If you were calling the shots, we would be running DOS-5 or Windows 95 on Intel 386 computers. :D:D
ENOUGH of it.
I have a question someone might help me out with.
I have two farms, as many do, and they share storage.
My question is: if I have the cows, goats and dairy shed on one farm, can I put the actual processing plant on the other and get the same result?
I think I should be able to since storage is shared, but I don't want to spend 300,000 if it won't work that way.
Any answers? TIA.

you can have the same buildings on each farm, and they work fine.
I have a Windmill, Sugar Factory, Dairy Plant on each farm, yet have cows on one farm and goats on the other.

I have to agree with Capricorn1 - the Red Mill is ok processing wheat, but the sugar refinery is too slow. I currently have 540 units in production, so it will take 4 1/2 days to complete, so no point planting any more sugar cane for a while. The Dairy Processing Plant does ok with butter, but the cheese & goat cheese seem to take forever. I know I don't have to send all the milk to the factory, but since I make more coins that way (exp. pts., too), it seems the reasonable thing to do. I do like the new facilities - much fun!

Yes it increases in line with the amount of animals you have.
That's not really true... Butter is always 30 minutes, cheese 4 hours and goat cheese 3 hours.
You can produce more simply because you're adding more milk but the production times don't increase with more animals.
I'm already out about 15 days on goat cheese production. I'll have to start selling the goat milk.

Thanks Janisko, I misread the OPs question (I thought they were asking would you get more milk if you had more cows :o ) Thanks for picking me up on that and sorry to the OP.

You are incorrect on one thing though .. I would prefer we went back to the TRS-80 (Z80 16kram 16k rom) or the Commodore 64 !! Now that is when Computers had some serious power :D :D

We don't yet even know how fast things will be when this is fully implemented. We have to wait until we see what happens when the neighbor interaction phase of this whole thing is implemented.
In the meantime, I'm pretty content with the times. I don't want anymore cows or goats than I have and I'm already growing more wheat than I would prefer. The sugar plant could be a bit faster but we'll have to wait and see what happens next.

Love the new facilities, but getting an error the last 2 days when selecting my Dairy Processing plant: "Error Saving Data. Error X025. Click the green tick to reload game."
Reloading does not make a difference - error pops up EACH time I select a facility.

Is there anything else new besides the new seeds we get? I just noticed that, but I don't know if there is anything else new..and I cannot find any "official" new release thread.

For what it's worth - my sugar and dairy facilities are stuck on giving me the same "done" items over an over (and still keeps on showing the same amount pending after I've stored the finished ones). Thought it was just a mistake but sure enough they are all showing up in my storage. I could keep this up all night but jeez, it feels like stealing. Not that I'm complaining........ but just thought the developers might want to get this fixed pretty soon. It's already given me like a gazillion coins (not giving exp points however......too bad).

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to the developers... this game keeps getting better and better! I'm so excited to see the Easter things and to use the facilities. And new levels! Amazing! I just love this game... thank you to all of you for your hard work to make this game so much fun!

Easter has arrived! I also noticed a bamboo tree. Nothing in flowers but I didn't check all the tabs yet.
