Love it all--got it all. Waiting for farms 6-8 if thats possible. Any chance of a mulit-tree cutting harvester?

How about a chainsaw to cut the trees down. It takes SO long with the axe. Thanks for all the new updates.

How did you get the spreader to work on a different farm than you have it parked on?

How did you get the spreader to work on a different farm than you have it parked on?

I clicked on the spreader then on the drop down menu for it, click on move then i click the diamond of the farm i want to fertilize.. when i got to that farm i clicked on the "Green Man" then you click on the "cloan" of the spreader.... the actual spreader never leaves the farm you have it parked on.......it is way cool..... i did that also to check to see how long my other farms that i had fertilized had left on the fertilizer you already spread on it......shows you how many hours are left.... way cool............

Thanks SunnyD, I didn't realise you could do that. I kept putting it into storage then taking it out of storage to use on the next farm! I'll give your way a go next time.

Thank you for the instructions but I have a question. Where is the "clone" for the spreader?

Ginasue1
Aug 22 2010, 08:03 PM
The clone will be on the new farm in the same spot that you have it on the old one. Today, mine was in the middle of a plowed field. The other day in the middle of some water.

OMG! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You absolutely made my (FT) day! LOL

The clone was there all along but I didn't see it because it was in a far corner and not on the screen I was viewing.

I get kinda tired of hearing people complain about the price of some of the facilities. I do not mind paying real cash so I can buy my facilities. That's my choice. I choose to do that. I don't go to movies often or out of the town. I like to play farmtown for entertainment. Thus, it's worth any money I CHOOSE to pay out. again, My choice.

Complainers: If you aren't happy, then quit playing. Simple. I've played a lot of games on facebook and I think this one is the absolute best!!! Enjoy it...

Farmer Jennifer Dawn
Aug 22 2010, 09:58 PM
I have to agree with wsbohannon.
I like to play this game. so far it is the only game that i've spent real money on. i absolutely would not on any other game. This game is my hobby. you spend money on hobbies, right? People shell out $30+ on game system games for their kids. whats wrong with paying a few dollars to play a game, which happens to be free for the most part. you don't have to have everything. There are some farm cash items that im not interested in. If we get farm #6, i might consider getting a lake or something. ive put my seashore and sushi restaurant into storage cause i wasn't using them. I have no need for chocolate factory and cinnamon, i get those from my friends.
This game is my down time from reality.

I would suggest that the 3 days have passed since you fertilised that farm so any new crops will have to be fertilised.

No. The 3 days expired for the first time at 9:45 PM tonight. However, I haven't been able to duplicate that event since. Perhaps I witnessed a miracle?

It may have something to do with a "glitch". (Don't you love "magic" words which are indisputably correct while being completely meaningless?)

you say---"-Fertilization Process:
You need 50 manure units to fertilize a farm. To fertilize a farm, click on the Manure Spreader tool and select 'Fertilize Farm'. Once a farm is fertilized it will remain fertilized for the next 3 days."

so in other words it does NOT FERTILIZE 4 DAY CROPS??? IT ONLY FERTILIZES THE FARM FOR 3 DAYS??? why is that????

SunnyD
Aug 23 2010, 06:50 AM
well you just be sure to plant a 4 day crop on a farm that was previously fertilized..... you can do that any time in that 71 hour period.. so i found out ..........

From the first post:

All crops still growing (not ready to harvest) will be fertilized. All new crops planted while the farm is still fertilized will be fertilized also.

ALL crops are fertilized, regardless of the growth time. Any that are already growing or are planted within the 3 days will be fully fertilized. Even if you plant a 4 day crop on day 3 of the fertilization they will STILL be fertilized. Does that make it clearer?

I think this update has been fantastic! I'm looking forward to what you do for us next.

The tree harvester is wonderful with slow computer and internet connection like mine. I find my cousin working on my trees can still harvest them faster when hired than I do my section with the tree harvester. lol What would I do without it in that case?

Could you please find some more uses for raspberries? I have loads because they're a great crop to plant to fill in that extra 4 hours in a Farm Town day. Raspberry jam would be yummy and a good use for them. They're also delicious in apple and raspberry crumble in the real world, or I cook them in with my flourless chocolate cakes. (There's an idea - use almonds for almond meal, add sugar, eggs, butter, chocolate and raspberries and you have flourless chocolate/raspberry cakes for those with a gluten intolerance.)

I would like more detail about the manure spreader as well please, and can we maybe put pigs for sale? Moving one pig around to all five farms is a pain!

7. Manure Spreader (FC): Allows you to fertilize your farms. All fertilized crops (not trees) will produce 2 boxes instead of 1 when harvested. The main idea is that you use the manure from your pigs as an organic fertilizer for your farms to produce more crops.

-Manure Collection Process:
You need to have a Pigsty (now on the facility section on the Store) to collect the manure from your pigs. The collection process works the same as if you were harvesting animals, the difference is that in this case, the manure from the pigs is stored in your Manure Spreader tool. Each Pig produce 1 Manure Unit every 12 hours.

-Fertilization Process:
You need 50 manure units to fertilize a farm. To fertilize a farm, click on the Manure Spreader tool and select 'Fertilize Farm'. Once a farm is fertilized it will remain fertilized for the next 3 days.

All crops still growing (not ready to harvest) will be fertilized. All new crops planted while the farm is still fertilized will be fertilized also.

Once a crop is fertilized, it will produce 2 boxes instead of 1 when harvested, whether the farm is fertilized or not at the time of harvesting. If you hire others to harvest, you will get 2 Large boxes instead of one. Employees will get twice the amount of coins, and 2 boxes as well every time they receive an additional bonus box when harvesting.

-Additional Notes:
When you buy the Manure Spreader tool, it will come with 250 manure units inside for you to start fertilizing right away!

You can move the Manure Spreader to other farms and it will not lose the manure inside

To check how much time of fertilization is left on a farm or how much manure you have stored just hover the mouse over the Manure Spreader. Notice that each farm is fertilized separately so the fertilization intervals will most likely be different for each farm, however, your manure storage is the actual Manure Spreader, so you can collect manure on all farms but it all gets stored on the same Manure Spreader.

All fertilized crops will have a highlight around them, if you don't like that effect or how that looks, we will add an option soon on the Options window, so you can disable it

Well, since I am leaving on vacation I thought I would violate my long-time policy of not making suggestions in this forum, and would provide some suggestions for the game. These are offered especially in light of the people who keep whini--ah, opining -- that they need a chainsaw or whatever because they just don't have the time to handle all their farm chores and they need farm cash and are not getting it so the shortcuts aren't available.

Perhaps the game needs to become more realistic. This would provide a natural break in production schedules for everyone. So, developers, here are some suggestions from a fan who lives in the heart of the farm belt in the US of A.

* Early frost. Frost strikes, killing all your plantings at a random interval on any one farm.

* Locusts. A plague of insects strike, devouring corn, wheat and rice. Can't replant until you spray with insecticide, which costs 50 Farm Cash.

* Foreclosure. The bank calls in your loans and repossesses all your equipment. You have to buy them again.

* Drought. All your flowers die. You can buy the Irrigation System for $85 Farm Cash to prevent this happening.

* Oil spill. All sea life in your sea coasts, small and large, die. Your oil refinery is stripped of all production. The Mayor fines you $200 Farm Cash or 1,000,000 coins reparations.

* Emerald Ash Borer infestation. One of every trees is devoured by bugs and must be replanted. Or you can spray them for $40 FC.

*Whiney farm neighbor plague. If you have a coffee shop, you may be plagued with this one. Hoards of whiney fellows in seed corn caps descend on your farm and flood your chat window with complaints. You cannot hire anyone to work, because who wants to listen to that??? You can't pay enough to prevent this, you just have to suffer.

* Salmonella: All your hen eggs are taken away by the mayor because they are contaminated. Too bad.

* Health Inspector: Your Taco Restaurant, Sandwich Shop and Food Preserving Facility are shut down because of health code violations. You can prevent by paying the Health Inspector 20,000 coins a month "protection" money/bribe (I was born in Chicago...;-)

So these are a few ideas to make the game even more realistic! Anyone have additional suggestions????

(Big grin here)

wow if those are added to the game i would stop playing. i wouldnt care what ive invested in the game i would just stop. i tryed a similar game were stuff happens similar to what you have posted and hated it

yes thank you very much for clearing that up. It really would be a good idea to explain that where the DEV's put the update for fertilizing crops. I also have another question Molly.
Is there any way of telling how much time i have left to fertilize? there is no count down clock and i myself have a lot to remember besides the time i plant crops..lol.. i think the dev;s should add something like that so the person knows exactly when the farm was 1st fertilized.. thanks!!:D

Good Grief....... ummm if you hate the game ummmmm this would be a great suggestion.......but uhhh if just in case you do... ummm why not play another game......... Life in reality stinks for a lot of people as we have these things happen for real... as in my case I lost my home in a tornado and my idiot husband who now my "ex idiot of a husband" hadn't been paying our home owners insurance therefore i could not rebuild my home and lucky for me I had a small mobile home we used as "The Guest House" I now call this "My Home" sooooooo dude i really hope you were just joking around cause as you see in my case and probably many other Players case that does play this game for a distraction from our "All Too Real Life Disasters" we need good things to happen...... already we do loose crops and our flowers die if we don't tend to them and water them that is enough of a reality for me........ LOL

She was kidding.

I always look forward to her posts because I enjoy her sense of humor.

Could we have the seeder and fertilizer spreader icon in the toolbox for easier access to them?

Oh Yes Please, it is a pain to move the fertilizer around and that "move" thing everybody is talking about does not work on my IMAC. I love now that I don't have to move the fishing boat around, couldn't it be the same thing for the fertilizer?

And please when are we going to be able to change the look on the ice cream parlor and the dairy farm? They are so big and cartoon like.....

Just want to put in my two cents worth that the manure spreader should have been available as a coin purchase also, not just farm cash. It is an awful big advantage to those who have farm cash. It will really be a game a lot more for the haves than the have nots! A drag for me, and it seems FT is getting a little too avaricious.

What advantage>

You have just the same ways of earning farm cash as I have. Either purchasing it, leveling up or doing the App's. :D

as for the haves and have nots, You make the choice to be one or the other.

I also agree. the pop-ups that stay after something has been selected: edit hand, plow, etc. take up a lot of space needed to farm.

I have discovered that if you scroll over one of the other tools and then hover over the store icon the pop tabs go down. For example: If you have selected the 4 plow if you scroll over the harvest tools and then hover over the store icon all of the pop-ups go down and then they are not sticking up in the way.

Hope this helps.

That is very poorly thought out. But i guess it doesn't matter much to me, I'm not rich and cannot afford that manure thing I need to do it. I'm upset that it costs so much farm cash for the manure spreader ON TOP of the cost for the pig sty. I'm also upset that there were only 15 levels added, as ONCE AGAIN, I'm maxed out. So, no new tools to play with, no new levels to attain...why bother playing? GEEZ, COME ON!!! At least give us the 6th farm maybe.....

Just because you did not get what you want does not mean that the game is unfair. To begin with you do not have to re-fertilize 4 day crops, if the are fertilized when planted they will be fertilized when harvested. Go back and read the release notes again. Farm cash can be gotten for free if you want to put in a little bit off time to get them. The pigsty cost coins so it is not that hard to get, again you might have to put in some extra work but really, they can't just give everything out for free. You want something to work towards, work towards making enough money to get the pigsty.

It seems that no matter what they give us...which is just about anything we ask for people are going to be upset because they can't have it all right now and exactly the way they want it. If it is such a problem STOP PLAYING! There are a million other games out there, go try your luck at those and see if you get anything close to what you want out of it.

I think I did something stupid. I put pig houses on all 5 farms because I assumed you could only harvest 50 from each one.

I will be knee deep in pig poop.

You can never have to much! I have three pigsty's and plan to fill each one to capacity! Besides the pigs and their sty's are cute how can you resist the little buggers. :-)

You can get Farm Cash for free, all you have to sacrifice is a little bit of time and energy. Anything that can be bought with FC can also be gifted. there are ways out there to get the stuff you want so it is not about the haves and have nots, it is about those willing and those not willing.

I am not sure if this is a product of the update but I have stopped getting the annoying pop-up that says my storage is full. If it is THANKS, if not TG for glitches.

I still get the pop-up, maybe you just don't have as much stuff in your storage as you used to. You might want to be careful that it doesn't get to full, you might end up losing some of your crops or products. :)

Thanks for all the new updates, however, I think the amount of items that can only be purchased with Dollars is a bit unfair as it take so long to get these, as you only get 1 dollar for each new level you reach. How would you get them once you reach the top level?

There are other ways to get Farm Cash. How is it unfair that others are willing to spend money or go and earn more FC? Those same options are available to you, you just have to choose to use them. It would only be unfair if the same options were not available to everyone, which they are!

To all those upset over having to buy stuff. This is a game. A G A M E. You have a choice. Either play or don't. For me, it is a hobby. an escape from the realities of life. I don't make alot of money and live paycheck to paycheck. Occassionally, I have treated myself by paying for farmcash. I made the decision to do this because I enjoy the game. Yes, I pay a very high rent and am often scrounging thru my pantry. but I manage to make it thru, and I need this game to keep my sanity after a brutal work day/week (i work with highly aggressive kids with MR and Autism)
Stop complaining about having to pay for things. Most thing are pretty much free. The game creators (God Bless you guys!) deserve to get some kick-back from their hard work in providing us with this virtual farm.

I have posted this in the official thread for this problem but have not gotten any reply. I thought I might have more luck here since this seems to be where everyone is at. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

OK I have tried everything suggested here and cannot get these four plots to go away. Can someone please take a look at my farm and let me now if there is anything that you can suggest. I believe that the link to my farm in my signature works, if not please let me know and I will get it working. The problem plots are the four plots in a row out in the middle of the empty space on farm 2. Thanks in advance.

I am going to try deleting all of the plots on this farm and see if that helps, I was in the middle of redesigning the farm anyway so no big loss.

OMG I have an even bigger mess than I thought I did now that I have deleted all of the plots on farm 2 I have a whole bunch of plots that won't go away! HELP!

I have also noticed that my bulldozer is only deleting 3 plots instead of 4 has anyone else had this problem?

I'm having trouble understanding why some farmers are still asking for additional farms. The developers just gave us the equivalent of 5 more farms when they doubled the crop output. With the limits on production imposed it is really easy for me to keep the facilities topped up. I didn't buy all of the facilities, just most of them. I don't have the brewery bacause of the paltry amount of yeast available or the sewing facility or the furniture factory but do have most others. I'm just wondering.

bummer........... but I enjoyed reading it anyway.:D

Chicago, huh....

hhmmm.... maybe farmers should have their coin taxed by the current administration..... and spread that wealth around:eek:

I wants my mayor money...... and I don't want to have to work for it.

It's not fair that farmers who work to grow their business get to have profits and buy more things.

Or I at least want to spend your money cuz I can do it better.

NOTICE: If you do not have government approved Health Care on your farm, you MUST immediately purchase it. After your purchase, you will be advised [1] how much won't be covered [2] how many other farmers will not be allowed to work for you [3] when you lose coverage and your farm must be chosen to die

(and no one is allowed to read the details until after it passes) hehehehehe

Hope someone has a sense of humor here.:p

I have a neighbor with almost 9 million experience points...... sure glad I don't hear her asking for 450 levels so she will have something to work for.

There are other ways to get Farm Cash. How is it unfair that others are willing to spend money or go and earn more FC? Those same options are available to you, you just have to choose to use them. It would only be unfair if the same options were not available to everyone, which they are!

Well Said ....... I have earned over 1,000 FC$

Thanks about the fishing boat i didn't no that and I have rivers and oceans on 4 of my farms. Saves a lot of time. thanks again.

I LOVE the flower harvester--I have been wanting one for a long time--only 2 more things would make it perfect for me: 1. The ability to sell only part of the things in my storage--we need the stuff for our facilities, but it builds up. It would be great to be able to sell some of it but not all. 2. One more farm to use as a nice place for my homes and accessories. Then I would be one happy farmer!!!!

Hmm....No. Farms 1, 2 and 3 are 24 X 24. Farm 4 is 20 X 20, and Farm 5 is 18 X 18. Did I miss something? I don't remember seeing any mention of farm size needing to be the same. I would hate to invest in upgrading and then find out it still won't work.

I love everything you have done with Farm Town. I've been playing since almost the beginning, remember that?? We've come a long way since then.

As I understand it we only need one manure spreader and to fertilize other farms that we have we are suppose to transport it via storage so that we can fertilize other farms we have. If we were to have more than one spreader with a pig sty at each farm would that give us more manure? If we have five farms how much manure would we need for that many farms? How many pigs can we have in each pig sty? Would one pig sty be enough for five farms?

You don't need to put it in storage at all. You can park it on one of your farms and leave it there.

Then you click on it to open up the sceen, find move, click on that, then click on the farm you want to fertilize. Once there, click on the green man, then click once more on the spreader, it has been moved to the new farm in the same place as it was on your farm where it's at. (Mine ended up in the middle of my lake the other day)
When you are finished and leave that farm the spreader will go back to where you have it parked.

Now as to pig stys, you can get by with having one or how many you have, All manue will go to the spreader no mater what farm you harvest the manure on.

I have about 70 pigs, spread out between 3 farms and right now I have over 400 manures in my spreader.

I didnt read anything about various farm sizes making a difference.

I have noticed the spreader lands in the new farm according to where it is setting in the old farm. Do you have it at the edge?

Hi there, I am thinking that perhaps the "clone" spreader can't see a place to land because the farm is smaller than the position you keep the spreader on. The "clone" will land in the same position as the farm you have the spreader residing. Might be worth moving the spreader further along into the farm so that you can be sure it is within the 18 x 18 measurement. Can you let us know if this works. :)

PS....try swapping positions with the Hot Rod or even the sand patch area should be enough if you want to keep it in your yard with the pigs! :)

I had been disconnected from my last note before I finished just by hitting enter to make a new paragraph. I then added some more to it, added the reason for editing but my editing didn't show up either so.....:(

What I wanted to ask is about the harvester, seeder and flower harvester. Do you buy just one of each and transport them via storage or buy one for each farm? Before I forget how many cows, sheep, goats, llamas, chickens can you have in each building? Is there a limit? When adding fertilizer to your farm can you specify which fields you want fertilized or do you have to fertilize the whole farm? Oh, I've never seen a "little green man". One more thing about the flower harvester. When I have just a row of flowers the harvester will only harvest no more than 4 or 5 flowers. Why is this?? If I have the flowers all bunched up as in a garden it will harvest more.

So there it is. My complete letter, finally.

Thanks for helping.

I love the spreader and don't need more farms, but had I chosen not to purchase it I may be jonsing for farm 6!!

I would love another farm also, if only to decorate. I would love to do just a seasonal farm ... that's where the sixth one would come in handy. Easter, Christmas, Fall, I can't wait till we have the option for another farm ! My farms are crowded because I think I bought everything ! LOL!!

On this game I do not mind spending money, the additional farms and storage are what cinched it .... I absolutely LOVE Farm Town, and will continue to spend cash .... beats going out for an over-priced dinner, over-priced drinks, and terrible hangover !! LOL!

Love all of the new goodies, TY so very much - wow, what an update! I have the new flower harvester, manure spreader, bulldozer - love them all! Took my pigsty out of storage and have 80 new piggies, just pooping their little hearts out, lol.

The big dozer is super, clears out those plots like magic, but without taking other things you don't want deleted with it like the little dozer can do. Just super!

The flower harvester is my dream machine. I have a "flower farm" where I planted the flowers I want to harvest in a very tight grouping, just like a regular field area - well, I was just about to redo the whole thing and spread them out, harvesting them was a nightmare with them packed in so closely - but now, I get more of them with each pass, simply because they are so tightly planted!

Raul and group, you have surpassed all I had been wishing for and then some, TY, TY, TY - can't wait to see what creative things you do next, you are all the greatest!

Apparently there is some major confusion as to how things are supposed to work once you have fertilized your crops. At the request of one our fellow farmers I am going to post my understanding of how this works. Moderators please let me know if there any flaws in my explanation so that I can avoid people calling me stupid and telling me to shut up.

THIS IS MY UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO WORK. THIS IS BY NO MEANS THE OFFICIAL INFORMATION ON HOW THE FERTILIZATION PROCESS WORKS! IF IT IS INCORRECT I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TELLING ME HOW STUPID I AM IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THIS UNDERSTANDING. :)

OK, my understanding of how this works is that you get double the crops if your field is fertilized. If you hire someone else to harvest for you the get double crops and the person working for you gets double the amount of crops that they would normally get and double the amount of coins. The only increase in price the farmer gets is the normal increase for hiring someone else to harvest. For example, instead of getting the standard 90 coins you could sell artichokes for if you harvest it you get 108 for the large harvest. I hope this helps you understand the new changes.

AGAIN, MODERATORS IF THIS INCORRECT PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO THAT I CAN CHANGE OR REMOVE THE INFORMATION.

It takes 50 units of fertilizer to fertilize each farm. Buying multiple spreaders is not necessary since you can either put it in storage and move it from farm to farm without losing your manure or you can use the "clone" method that is referred to a few pages back in this discussion. One pigsty holds 100 pigs and can be harvested every 12 hours. When you bought the spreader it came with 250 manure in it (enough to do all 5 farms for the first time). If you have one pig sty filled to capacity and harvest it every 12 hours you should be pretty well set to have enough fertilizer to keep your farms fertilized.

I personally have 3 pigsty's full to capacity (mostly cause I think the sty's are cute and so are the little piggies!)

Hope this helps clear up your question.

As of right now there are only 115 levels. There are other ways to get fam cash, such as buying it or doing some of the free offers that are available to earn farm cash. To get to the offers just click on the tab at the top of the game that says "earn cash and coins." If you scroll down the page a little you will see that you can sort the offers out so that you can just view the free offers, just the surveys...ect. Buying FC is the fastest way to go but if you are on a limited budget the offers work out pretty good. Some of them can take a it of time to do but end the end it is well worth the time it takes to do them.

I like it the way it's always been. Wasn't aware of a change since i haven't worked anyone else's farms. Hope it if's changed for our own farms, that it's an option and we can harvest and plow in the "traditional" way.

Sounds complicated. I may opt to not get the spreader -- plus, really don't have room to add pigs to any of my farms at this time. But it does sound like a great addition to the game regardless.

I just save up some of my loose change and if I don't have a real life need for it, then I can deposit it and apply it toward FT. I bought $20 real $$ worth of FT Cash in June and will possibly do so again in Sept. or Oct. Meanwhile, I'm content to let my "someday" wish list grow. So much to do in the game in the mean time. The offers? Nope, not bothering with those.

I sent one as a gift to a very good friend and she is so thrilled with it turning her gifts into pigs LOL , I did too and I got so much manure . I am a HAPPY FARMER. I know you guys work so hard to make this game so realistic and I just love it.THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HARD WORK , YOU GOT A LOT OF TALENT GUYS . My Tree Shaker will not work for me selecting the icon selection - I get the message that I must have a shaker in my farm. Which means that I have to move it each time. TOO MUCH trouble. Once a tool is purchased and it shows in the icon selection it should work on any farm and NOT have to move it from farm to farm. This goes for the new 4 plot Bulldozier and the Fishing Boat. PLEASE make these changes. Thanks!

I am having a problem with the new plow option. It seems as tho plowers can now plow in areas not previously plowed. Which is probably great for those who like to layer their crops but for those of us who set things up in a certain way it can be quite an anxiety ridden time watching someone plow all over you neatly planned out farm. Also really time consuming having to go back a delete 100's of unwanted plots.

YES, this is really a waste of time when someone you hire plows all over the place!! ALSO, I have not yet figured out how they plant trees over the regular crops. Please explain!
You are doing a wonderful job, keep up the great work, I'm addicted!!!!!:p

Really interesting to see this problem referred to. I have been seeing it happen on one of my farms for a few weeks now - way before the upgrade to the plow thing happened last week. Only seemed to happen on one farm and I could sit there and watch others plow areas under paths etc where I have not never plowed myself. I got sick of deleting the plots so started sowing them along with everything else/
It never happened at my other farms though- very odd

I'm posting here for help because you all are great at sharing your knowledge. I had a chicken coop on farm 1 and it has 100 turkeys in it so I had to buy another one. I made the stupid mistake of putting it on the same farm and it wont let me add more turkeys as they both say theres 100 turkeys. My question is can I put the new one in storage and take it to another farm or are the turkeys going to be with it or will I loose the turkeys that are in it. Do i just leave it there and bite the bullit and go by another coop in fear of selling it and loosing my 100 turkeys. I would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kathy. Take the new coop and take it to whatever farm you choose and fill it with new turkeys. You will not lose the original 100 turkeys in the first coop.

hired plowers should not be able to plow where there is not a wasted or harvested field. This was quite a problem some time back and was supposed to have been fixed. It hasn't been completely fixed though is much better than it was. If you have items, particuarly paths, alongside fields it seems to enable a plowed field to be placed there. It is not strictly a case of people jumping all over the place and not caring, surely when plowing our own fields we have experienced the plow "jumping" or "bouncing" to place the fields somewhere we didn't intend. A similar thing seems to happen with the hired plowers, and may be more prevalent when clicking a little wildly and quickly. This is probably something that should be brought up in the Help forum so it can be dealt with better

I would like to thank Rob Terry, Molly Mew, and Ellshere for all their assistance with helping me sort this mess out. You guys are absolutely, hands down, the BEST! I have never had in game support like this in any game I have ever played on ANY platform. It has taken the better part of the last 3 days to correct this issue and these three have been right there beside me every step of the way. I for one CANNOT figure out how people can complain about this game. When we whine that we want something, they give it to us. When we do something stupid and mess the game up they are there to help us fix it, and then help you replace the stuff you lost because you did something stupid! The game and the support behind it are the best that you will find anywhere and on any platform. :) :) :)

Being able to plow under paths and walkways on other peoples farm was/is a glitch that has been around for a long time. It is not a new thing but I agree that it is very irritating to have people do it on purpose. It seems like greed just gets the better of some people. There is also the chance that some people do it completely by accident but if they do it once and continue to do it, they are doing it on purpose.

If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all.

The Dev's and Mod's on this fourm are some of the best around.

A god Dev or Mod, is always there to answer your questions, explain things to you and not be showing up maybe once a month. Our Mod's are here ever day.

I ran a forum board for many years, and the one thing I always told my Mod's was that without the people we didn't have a job. ( Yes, the Mod's where not paid, but it still was a kind of job.) If a Mod wasn't there for the people then I would remove them and add someone else who was.

That describes it exactly. There is a path right alongside where it happens. I have moved the path over and see it has still happened on this one farm, but not at my others where there are also paths alongside crops. No biggie because I can just throw seed on them. I was more interested to see it mentioned by someone else because I understood we could not plow elsewhere on others farms.

Cheers all...

I use it on all my five farms, going to take a lot to get something more useful than that! ;)

The Spreader is great..... I no longer run out of the huge amount of grapes I need for 5 wineries and two cellars, among other things. In fact, I am building an inventory of things I was short on after adding the brewery and its "needs".

The Spreader is actually allowing me to add another dairy plant, and another coffee shop..... big $$$$$$.

So my vote is a big thumbs up for the $preader.

(on the side, I now have evidence that my $--- does not stink)

Just did my list of what I need to plant, and only needed to do a few crops because thanks to the Spreader, most of mine are now sitting at around 700 - 1000 crops of each in storage.

You know I am really a bit surprised at all the complaining. This game has come so far in just the past few months I am totally amazed. I think everyone is expecting a little much from the devs.

These programs are not an easy task and some of the things we ask for border the insane yet time after time they deliver. I think they do an amazing job. Are there gliches and bugs ... well of course there are and there always will be from time to time. This thing is getting huge and I am having a blast!

Man I can remember when I first started playing ... sitting on level 10 looking at those that were on level 60. I thought I would never get there but now I am on level 115 with 5 fully expanded farms and all the facilities & tools. Some would say that's a lot of work ... I say it's been a lot of fun.

I always thought of Farm Town as a place to have fun with my friends and even make some new ones. So to all of you that moan and groan ... if you don't like Farm Town ... try Farmville or any of the other wannabees. There really is no need to come here and start unwanted drama.

To all my fellow FarmTown addicts ... have a great weekend!

When I first started playing we had one farm. Level 34 was the highest you could get, and even getting there took lots and lots of time.

You didn't have room for a lot of things, if you wanted to beable to have crops going so that you could then plow them after harvest to get some xp.

I made a lot of good friends from us playing FarmTown and to this day we still are friends.

Usually this happens if you browser cache is full or your Farmtown storage is full. If your storage is full you will get a pop-up warning you that it is full when you log into the game. I would suggest checking that first. If that is not the problem try clearing your cache, there is a link bellow that will take you to the directions on how to do that if you are unsure. You might also try just reloading your game after you harvest. Sometimes it takes a reload of the game for the server to catch up with what your are doing so when you go to your storage right after harvesting it has not had a chance to catch up.

I hope that one of these suggestions works for you. If not send a PM to one of the forum moderators and they should be able to get with you and figure out what the problem is.

most of your smaller problems in FT can be cured by clearing your browser cache or temp files. if that does not work go to the adobe site and under the search bar type in "remove Flash" do what it says then do a reinstall of your flash player.... that removes all temporary files of the flash program..... that is what adobe site says.... first here is the link to learn how to empty your cache on different versions of windows this is provided in the "Help and Support" section of the Forum... any time you have some problems with the game 9 out of 10 times they are addressed in the "Official" sections in that area... good luck...

When you are working the facilities it is done using a different method of access - if you want to water their flowers then come in via your own farm first then visit theirs - that should eliminate your problem.

I see.. wish they could add that ability to the visit of working facilities..... seeing as you don't have the big need to visit farms to get credit to fill up with fuel any more ...... the only time my neighbors really water for me is if I ask them to while they are on my farm harvesting/plowing.... lately i do it myself it don't cost all that much in coins......

If you click on the ReFuel you can see where you would get the fuel from, and how much it would be at the moment.

However, if you accept it, you then lose whatever balance you already have on hand.

With the refinery and a rig on every farm, it is rather easy to refuel with, say 40-50 neighbors, and get 250,000 gallons.

I sell what the refinery produces until my balance gets down to about 50,000 gallons......... and then keep production in the inventory till needed.

I also have noticed that when I am at my neighbors farms to in their factories I am not able to do anything else that I can normally do when I am there. I discovered however, that if i I go back to my own farm or just reload the game I can go work on all of my neighbors farms again. I think it has something to do with the coding that is required to make it so that we can work in their facilities. So to avoid the problem I usually make my rounds in every bodies factories, then refresh and make my rounds tending farms and watering flowers. Hope this helps!

A lot of people still need to visit their neighbors to earn fuel. Not everyone has the oil refinery for fuel. There are 4 people in my house that play and I am the only one that has the fuel refinery. I still like to visit my neighbors just to help out and we also still earn that extra little it of XP and Coins for being a god neighbor! :)

I have not heard anything about a 6th farm but there are still a great many things that you can do to make the game interesting. You could redesign all of your farms, you can go work from the market place (that always proves interesting). I just had to redo 2 of my 5 farms and have had a lot of fun doing it. With all of the new decorations, buildings, and tools that they have given us there is always opportunity to do all kinds of neat and interesting things to do.

Please keep in mind that the developers are working very hard to give us all of the things that we ask for and that adding new things to the game is not an easy process. It takes hours and hours of code writing and trial and error to make sure that it works right before they release new items. Heaven forbid they release a new item that doesn't work just right! ;)

i wish i had the brains and time that the people put into giving us this game they are very smart artistic people i am not complaining i was just asking a question and i redo my farms all the time when i had 4 farms i redid all of them about 5 times in one week then they brought out farm 5 and i had to work my fingers off to upgrade it all lol just dont want to do that again and spend all my money when farm 6 was in the works thank you for answering though and please keep up the good work farmtown developers :D

I did not intend to offend or imply that you were complaining. I was just trying to help come up with ways to make the game more fun for you. The rest was meant for those who come into the forum and are down right rude about not getting what they want when they want it. In the future I will remember to separate what is meant to be helpful from what is meant to be a reminder to others. (I am a dork sometimes!) :D

I have a suggestion regarding the fertilizer thing. My maneuer (sp?) spreader is full with twice the amount that i actually need (seeing as you only really have to fertilize every three days) My suggestion would be that you would be allowed to fertilize ONE neighbor farm per day or something like that.

Another update i'd like to see would be involving the dogs and cats. Maybe a new facility would be a pet store where you can make dog food and cat food. maybe the dog house can produce puppies?

I agree....relax and go soak your own head....this game is great. We haven't gotten anything new yet because the developers are busy at work maintaining the game servers and possibly putting into works new ideas? these things take time. Enjoy the stuff we got now. Honestly, yeah, i would love another upgrade, but its nice to catch your breath and work with the stuff already here and get a handle on it before having more stuff thrown in......

I would bet that they have not given us anything new because they are trying to make sure that everything they gave us (JUST A FEW DAYS AGO) is working properly. Looking back through your post it seems like they should be giving you new things every day! I find it very rude that you come in here demanding new items all the time just because you think that you should have them. This is not feedback that is useful in any way at all. It is just you being greedy. I don't know about anyone else but I have never played any other game that give us new stuff so regularly and to top it off it is usually the stuff we have been asking for. Sorry you clearly have not gotten the mountains and trains that you wanted but it seems that the devs try and give us stuff that a majority of people have asked for. You must not want any of it very bad considering you have not even taken the time to go put your request in the proper thread for requesting new items. I have to agree with the others, it is indeed you who should go soak your head.

There is always something to do.... move things, add or subtract things, re-design etc. I find that that is part of the fun of the game (plus accumulating coin - I have half a billion at each set of farms :rolleyes:0

If I could have a choice, I think the following would work for me:

1] Expand farm #1 to 30x30..... restricted to levels 50 and up

2] Expand farm #2 to 30x30..... restricted to levels 75 and up

3] Expand farm #3 to 30x30..... restricted to levels 90 and up

4] Expand farm #4 to 30x30..... restricted to levels 115 and up

5] Expand farm #5 to 30x30..... restricted to levels 130 and up

etc

gives everyone something to work for, now and down the road.

Each farm would then expand 3 time (to 26, to 28, to 30) at a cost of maybe 5 million for Farm #1, then 10 million for #2 etc.

Afterall, gotta have something to work for.

But give us a break! Some of us come here to get help from fellow farmers or to talk about how great FT devs are. Quit your whining and do us a favor and quit the game. Who knows, if all the whiners left maybe the game would never run slow lol. Thanks FT keep up the great work. The manure spreader and the boat are the best items yet. The only time I had looked at the buildings until recently was when I first started playing the game. Until they gave us the ability to fertilize our crops I tried to save every inch of space that was not taken up by factories for crops, trees, or flowers. Now that we can fertilize I have freed up some space for decorations and buildings to complement some of the themes of my farms.

From the Game Guide (http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3356462&postcount=7):
For reasons of server load and compatibility with less powerful computers, The farm is the biggest size 24x24, and will never extended beyond that. As mentioned, this is for technical reasons and mainly due to the fact that the server load will become too heavy.

While bigger farms do sound nice, I can understand why it's never going to happen. Tying land upgrades into levelling also has it's appeal but I suspect it would frustrate a lot of people (all the Veruca's who want it all and want it now). Who knows, maybe it is already being considered for future farm/s.

I have a question, normally people bring over food to the grieving family. Would it be inappropriate if I brought some Eastern NC pit-cooked BBQ with that yummy vinegar and hot sauce drizzled on it? :)

Your post is still making me ROTFLMAO everytime I see it. And based on that what would be nice is to see pork BBQ sandwich in the sandwich shop. We could utilize the carrots, cabbage for slaw and apples for the cider vinegar and peppers for the hot sauce and bake some buns over in the bakery. :D Oh dear I'm making myself hungry now. :p

I know I have already complained about this but it would be really nice if the glitch that allows people to just plow any where on a farm (not just in the previous plow areas) was FIXED. If I had intended to layer my crops I would but I do NOT need another farmer making that decision for me. I just reported a player after repeatedly asking them to stop and they would NOT and now I have 1000's of plots that have to be removed. Can we get this fixed please?

I clicked on the spreader then on the drop down menu for it, click on move then i click the diamond of the farm i want to fertilize.. when i got to that farm i clicked on the "Green Man" then you click on the "cloan" of the spreader.... the actual spreader never leaves the farm you have it parked on.......it is way cool..... i did that also to check to see how long my other farms that i had fertilized had left on the fertilizer you already spread on it......shows you how many hours are left.... way cool............

after the 7th......

I have learned that the individual farms cannot exceed 24x24 (unless the devs make major changes in what is causing that restriction).

that is a bit of a bummer.... oh well

and the spreader has doubled my crop output and virtually eliminated running short of any products I choose while I make my millions per day

So, more farms are the answer. And with the layout of the 5 diamonds, it is rather safe to assume that the devs have now planned for more farms (maybe a dozen)

I have choices to make....

1]...do I start a third account and begin that from the 12x12, need neighbors, need pineapples:eek::eek::eek::eek: maybe
(I would have at least 2 great neighbors right away)

2]...do I just accumulate coin and FT$$ over and above the current 600mill? sure

3]...do I make some mental plans for the next farm(s)? sure

4]...do I plan on visiting Grumpa's 13th? sure

5]...do I redesign a farm, add duplicate facilities that make $$$$, and etc maybe

6]...do I sell off the crop (with an "a") in my inventory that I don't need or want and could always buy later? probably

7]...do I just go play the ville or the frontier games? pass:p

"...Once a crop is fertilized, it will produce 2 boxes instead of 1 when harvested, whether the farm is fertilized or not at the time of harvesting..."

This doesn't seem to be true - my wife planted an already fertilized farm & when she hired me to harvest, she didn't get the two boxes (as advertised) nor did I get the "double coins" that I'd been getting when harvesting her crops that were "still within the fertilizing 'window of opportunity' ". What gives?

I've just noticed sweet potatoes in my seed store - are these new - I've never noticed them before.

They have been there for awhile. Not used in any facilities but they are very pretty!

after the 7th......

6]...do I sell off the crop (with an "a") in my inventory that I don't need or want and could always buy later? probably

7]...do I just go play the ville or the frontier games? pass:p

Bummer 13 is my lucky number. was hoping we would get that farm before 6 and 7,:D

of cause they would have to give us 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12 at the same time.

But wait that would cause so mamy complaints of what should I do on all these farms.

Guess we just can't win.

Just a suggestion/request in case developers run out of things to do ;): A chainsaw to cut down multiple trees at once.

The holiday pigs have all the same options in the drop down as regular pigs except add to pigsty. They can wander, they can stand, they can sit, and they can idle. All the fixins for a "real" pig. Just have a cute decorative santa hat.....
