I'm still unable to dispatch my train. It was unloaded yesterday at 4:30 or so. I was going to move it, and didn't dispatch it while I was in there, and the dispatch button would highlight. I couldn't move it, either with the glove, or by opening the train menu (there is no move on my menu). So I went back in and my dispatch is greyed out, on the status tab, there are no active items.

When I Check the box next to Transparent Dispatched Train, it does ghost, even though it is not dispatched. I've checked it, and reloaded, unchecked it and reloaded... NOTHING!

EVERYTHING ELSE on my farm is working, great avatar speed, no lost connections, no issues. just can't do anything with the train. My Cache has been cleared numerous times, as well as my Macromedia files. Thee computer spent the night off, as was the router. Disk maintenance is up to date (defrag and clean up performed every Sunday). It has to be a game issue, not an issue with my computer.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, tell me what I need to do to dispatch the train!

You also have to have the Ink Factory on your farm. After I had all three facilities on the farm I still had to go completely out of the game and then log back in before it would let me buy the freight cars. BUT......I just went through my first week waiting for all the products and honestly I can't see where it made any difference. I wish I had never spent the money to buy the train. In my opinion, it sure isn't worth the price of admission. I wish I could give the train back and get my money back!

I'm still having problems with my train. Unloaded it yesterday afternoon and cannot dispatch it or move it to storage or anywhere else on my farm. I've done everything recommended and still no go......

I do love this game. And thank the developers for it, and all of their hard work. [For even trying to keep some of us happy!]
It does take me time to understand the possibilities of the new items, so In that way I think them telling us a little of what is upcoming is good. But I try not to paint much of a picture of what is coming, mainly so I won't be dissappointed if it doesn't turn up like I was thinking it would be. Most of the time I am very pleased when I get the newer things and learn how they work.
I was surprised that the trains actually had a job to do! Thanks for that nice touch! And Yes, I did fuss that that was too much, but I went to work and 'found' the $ somewhere and got the train cars.

However, I do have a major gripe with the game. Most of the times when I hire someone to harvest trees for me, they only do part of them. Now I realize that some of the trees are difficult to harvest without missing some, but there should be a way that they can change color or something when they are ready for harvest. And that then would show me which ones the workers didn't harvest. Some of the trees like the cherries and apples and oranges do show very well, but the people I hire even miss a lot of them. That makes me get upset and do it myself for a few times. Lots of times I will anyway, but it would make it nice if I could see a difference in the trees after they are harvested.
Yes, I know that if I run the harvester over them, it will highlight the trees needing harvesting, but that is the only way to know for sure if they have been harvested. I am talking about maybe a highlighted color or something for a whole field of certain trees that have not been harvested.
Wonder if anyone else has this same problem?

I find it hard to harvest trees for other players. They might have taller trees in front of shorter trees, or they haven't used an 8x8 pattern for me to sweep through them with the harvester. Or they mix in chopping trees with the harvest trees, but have tall trees in from of the chopping trees. I try to be very thorough when I do get a tree harvest job, but someone hiring needs to be sympathetic to a player that may not have the big tools, and if they haven't placed the trees in easily harvest-able patters.

I find it especially difficult to clean up after someone without the 8x8 or a smaller tool. They leave scattered trees, that are hard to pick up.

I to do not hire for the trees, since i can sweep through my massive tree farm very quickly. I laid them out in height order (except a small patch that was replaced after I reached the 6th degree Dan for a tree that isn't used in production). They are planed in rows of 8, with an empty row in between. Really easy with the 8x8.:D

i do not say much about the game being slow, etc, but WOW .... today i had to harvest my crops about 4 times before they stayed harvested. it was not the entire field, about 1/2 to 2/3 of the field would have to be redone. and my little farmer was moving so slow.

and yes, i did clear my cache, etc, etc .... i did all the normal things ... just wanted to mention this so the devs could be aware of how many peeps are reporting a sloooowwww farm today

I don't think the devs have responded to this yet, but I am just double checking to see if the mods have heard anything about the Question Marks attached to all of the ingredients and products in the "Non-Ingredient" section?
I just checked on mine and the crops and trees do not seem to be affected.


I'm a little concerned about this, too. Don't want to sell anything I need but would like to cash in things I don't. I'm sure it's just some kind of glitch but it's unnerving. If ALL of the non-ingredients had question marks, I'd be more certain it's a glitch - but only 80% - 90% of them do.

Try refreshing the game. That happens quite frquntly to me and refreshing solves it

thats only temporary for that current session, just reload your game, and it will be back to normal :)

Absolutely having the same problems. It takes 30 minutes or more to cash out, load and also to start batches. It has never been this slow. I have updated the flash player and I empty the cache 2 or 3 times per attempt at doing facilities. I have found that completely logging off facebook and even logging off my browser does seem to speed things up for about 3 or 4 factories/facilities, but then it slows right back down again.
I really hope this gets resolved soon.

You see when you hire to do trees and fish and so on, the hired person does not get xpoints for doing that, you only get points for harvesting and plowing so they don't worry if they got them all or not. And that is the reason I do it myself, like I said its good therapy.

I do the same Jerry, not hard at all to the trees and it breaks the monotony of harvest and plow and seed, lol

I am trying to put all the trees or at least the majority of them in one farm so when I go to that farm get all the trees needed for production at one time instead of going through all the farms. And it is true that people just put trees wherever and with no pattern at all and that makes it very difficult to harvest and more difficult to know if you have missed some or not.

I just now noticed this too.....if the question marks show a blank box then its ok to sell it......im going to trust that the non-ingredients are all sellable right now. Theres apparently all kinds of glitching going on right now not to mention the stupid flash not working right and titles not displaying right and so on. Hope they can get it fixed with the next update.

since the initial release of this update on June 1st.. i have had a hard time aiming just so to harvest most crops.. the only crop that is still difficult to harvest is the Blueberries.. and they are still that way as of last night.. so far the other crops even the newer ones are fine.. hoping this gets fixed soon...

I think they are fixing some coding. The slowness and can't open the facilities at times always happen when they are fixing things. We just have to be patience till they fix what we all been screaming for them to fix. lol.

Ive been having the same slowness problems especially after i got this latest update to adobe flash and the new release on farmtown. I think the combo of the two is messing each other up and flash especially in Firefox is terrible right now.

When you go to the farm and it says locked, just reload Farm Town and that should unlock them.

You know I'm all for being patient but I think for a lot of us FT players patience is wearing very thin. At the moment I have 4 farms that need combining and planted. However I can't do them because the plots won't highlight for me. I put my cursor right on the plots and if they highlight at all, the minute I click to harvest the highlight goes away and the plots are still there.

Sometimes it takes 4 or 5 tries before I can actually harvest my farms. I've tried going back to the old tools - 5x5 - I've tried just using the harvest plow instead of harvest plow plant. I've tried going offline I've tried show all I've cleared my cache and macromedia files. My quality is on high I've reloaded, refreshed, rebooted until I'm at my wits end.

I agree the devs do a good job and I'm always right there when a new upgrade comes out but I think a time comes where everything needs to be put on hold until the issues at hand are taken care of. Tell me what good is another farm going to do us when we can't work the one's we have?

A lot of us are missing facilities, trees, animals and some even farms are missing. We can't work for anyone and no one can work for us yet if we do our own farms it's takes twice as long to do. I've timed myself and can get a 28x28 farm harvested plowed and planted in way less than 30 min. now it's taking me well over 45 or as much as an hour.

I love FT and have been playing since it started. Sure there have been ups and downs but never this bad. I for one am at my wits end. FT is a fun game but when you start tearing your hair out and swearing at your computer it's not fun anymore. Please please figure out what is going on so we can all move on.

can't say that i have had any of the problems you have i have have done all my 30 of my neighbours farms which are all 14 farm at maximum sizes with no problems and very quickly and most of my freinds have returned the favour without any problems. i have 8 maximum size farms which i use for crops and have just done them all in under 15 mins. the devs are doing a really good job i think and cant wait for farm 15 which i have already planned in my head.

Just keep on the way you are with a stripped down farm and you won't have any issues.

Just keep on the way you are with a stripped down farm and you won't have any issues.

I must admit to having very functional farms the 8 with the crops have a few facilities and some animals on them but i do have 2 dedicated solely to facilities 1 for trees 1 for animals 1 for flowers 1 decorative and farm 15 will be lakes rivers and coasts when we get it, at the moment i have a few on each farm, this could be the reason i do not have any issues but when i visit some of my friends theirs are layered and all that malarkey i admit it does take a tad longer to do them but not much more if you hide certain things as you go.

I have 6 for facilities, they are my little towns, 2 for trees, 1 for flowers, 1 main crop field (might change that to 2 main crop fields), 2 smaller crop fields with some water on it, and I have 1 farm as my storage farm for stuff I am not using and don't want to use my storage for. My animals are on my tree farms and some on one of my smaller crop field. I have no farms layered, but I do have my crops overlapping with nothing on top of my crops and I have very few problems with my farms, like you when I visit farms with layering it takes a little longer to load the farm.

Have you tried clearing your cache also have you deleted your hidden temp files? If not I would suggest doing both of those things

Lol, ya, that was the first thing I did when the problem started.... and pretty much nearly every day since.... and 3 times today... I am thinking by now anyone who has been playing this game from the beginning, especially after the last year or so when updates really started flooding out, has learned that's the first place to start before seeking help. Its always the first answer you get. The funny thing is though, that has never once fixed any issue I was having so I'm really wondering why it is so quickly advised.

I have the same problem, yesterday I even had to delete my cache files every time i changed what seed i was planting, because the field i was planting just disapeared and i was never able to load the different sorts of fields at all.
I think its a firefox problem, it seems to me like it started when the latest version of flash was recently released and i also deleted/reinstalled flash+firefox, but it never helped. So i am using Google Chrome for planting for now, because the only version of firefox i can get to work to some extent is the beta version, but it still is really slow when i plant/harvest alot. Maybe you should try Google Chrome and find out if your problem is firefox related aswell.

Do you still have IE9 on your PC ?
If so remove it and use IE8.

I had all sorts of issues just having IE9 on my PC
(no web cam, unable to copy/paste (even within Excel), certain images failing to show (even within FT) and slow boot up times)
Had someone remove IE9 (easy actually with Win7) and let it update agian with IE8 and all these issues disappeared.

My browser is 'Avant Browser' and is running in 'IE8 standards' mode.

NiMo, I do have IE9 and Windows 7. I have found how to turn it off, but I have no idea how to go back to IE8. Its been too long ago to try restoring back to before I changed it. You would think by now all the issues with it would have been taken care of. I heard a lot of people had problems with it. I don't use it very often, but I really haven't had any other issues other than FB games.

Fortunately on Win7 you dont need to go back to a restore point.
Select the 'Start' icon (bottom left, also for turning off)/all programs/windows update.
On that window at bottom left select 'installed updates', noiw you will see a long list of installed program updates, look for 'internet explorer 9 for windows 7', select it and then select uninstall, THEN reopen the 'windows update' window, select 'check for updates', when that is done deselect 'internet explorer 9 for windows 7' and then install remaining updates.

If I got this right in these words it should then put you back on IE8

Alright, I have done everything I can possibly do with my PC and everything checks out just fine. I have even gone as far as to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, Flashplayer, and Java. I have had issues for a week now trying to deal with the lag in play. I have to reload the game every couple of minutes just to be able to sow my farms. I dread helping other people out with their factories and all because it is miserably slow.

Whatever is wrong it doesn't appear to be affecting everyone so I am afraid that it won't get fixed. After doing everything suggested from all the issues with explorer 9, I was never able to get the flashplayer games to work there. I am stuck to Firefox. Now that it is acting up I am pretty much at the end of my rope. Is it going to be fixed soon?

When Flashplayer did it's last update, I wasn't able toy even get into FT. I uninstalled Flashplayer, went into the Flashplayer archives and downloaded the previous version and it works just fine now. Just make sure you shut off automatic updates.

I do the same Jerry, not hard at all to the trees and it breaks the monotony of harvest and plow and seed, lol

I am trying to put all the trees or at least the majority of them in one farm so when I go to that farm get all the trees needed for production at one time instead of going through all the farms. And it is true that people just put trees wherever and with no pattern at all and that makes it very difficult to harvest and more difficult to know if you have missed some or not.

First...please don't close this thread yet....I think there are some issues that started with the June 1 update and perhaps the release of the trains. (Which I don't have.)

With this update, the "Plowed" was added to the fields. This really doesn't bother me, but I can SEE that my fields are plowed! :)
Before this update, if I harvested trees or flowers individually with the sickle or axe, the name of the tree or flower appeared, and if it was fertilized, with an (F). When I used my tree harvester, flower harvester, or log truck, the group of 32 was highlighted, but no words were there.
After this update, the groups are still highlighted, but the names now appear. Depending on where I hover, some of the trees or flowers say (F,W) but if I move the mouse just a little bit, only the name shows (still highlighted as ready) but does not show (F,W).
Since I KNOW the field is fertilized I am assuming that I am getting a double harvest, but it does make me question.
The same thing is happening after I plant a crop. Moving the cursor will either show the crop.. say Corn, but moving a little will show Corn (F,W).
None of this was happening before this update. It is a tad bothersome, since I know that I fertilized and watered (red), but then I am not sure if it is working correctly when some plots don't show correct info.
For the last week or so, every time I go to "MY NEIGHBORS" tab, every single neighbor that shows up is listed as having 0 coins 0 XP's. I have over 20 neighbors that are level 335 and are active. They are showing correctly at the bottom of my farm. And only about 1/2 of my 80 neighbors are showing under the "My Neighbors" tab.
This concern probably needs to go under the Help section for Facilities, but this is the first time this has happened. I tried to work 2 neighbors facilities a few minutes ago and their farms loaded fine, then I got the Pop-up about helping on their farm for tornadoes, water, etc. I did that request, went back to the FB feed for FT and tried 3 more times on each of these 2 neighbors. Farms loaded and then nothing. When I clicked on a facility, there was no work tab. They had both posted for facilities and service facilities and I tried both request for both neighbors. No luck.
I haven't tried to work facilities for anyone since last week, and I just wondered if "fixing" the ? in the box for non-ingredients might have caused some other problems?
I will ask if this is a FT issue, FaceBook, me?? or a combination of all 3?

Secondly.... I was mad after I've bought the freight train locomotive, and realized that I only can use cash to buy the cargo carts that are productive. Was it an in game message or one of the pop up messages from the game? If it was an in game message then it was a hoax. Farm Town does not use the in game messages to contact us.

I would like to comment about the problems some people are having with their farms, mainly not being able to open quests, or facility manager, going to each farm, saving, saving, saving, etc. My husband & I both farm and starting today he is having the problems mentioned and worse, he can't harvest, seed, anything for himself or on my farms, now the kicker is that my farms are working fine! Using the same computer, one farm works, the other doesn't. Of course I did all the standard fixits, cache, modem, etc., and still his farm is stuck in quicksand. The only difference between his farm & mine is that he is on W8 and he has the trains and I am on W10 and don't have the trains. So is this the trains causing all the problems some people are having?

Was it an in game message or one of the pop up messages from the game? If it was an in game message then it was a hoax. Farm Town does not use the in game messages to contact us.

Do you still have IE9 on your PC ?
If so remove it and use IE8.

I had all sorts of issues just having IE9 on my PC
(no web cam, unable to copy/paste (even within Excel), certain images failing to show (even within FT) and slow boot up times)
Had someone remove IE9 (easy actually with Win7) and let it update agian with IE8 and all these issues disappeared.

My browser is 'Avant Browser' and is running in 'IE8 standards' mode.

I have IE9 and not any issues with it at all.... i also have Chrome.. Some web sites are not viewed as well on Chrome as they are in IE9.. no idea why ... also i can't hear any music on my Chrome either.. tried their fixes but no help...

"Fixing" this game has got to be an absolute nightmare for our developers. I use Chrome and have no trouble with the music ..... although I mostly turn it off :(

Now, we cannot select any action for that item (whether it is to move it, rotate it, buy multiples of it, etc) until our avatar is directly next to that item, and the item has fully "loaded" itself. When you try to do any action now, the avatar text "Wait...I'm busy" repeats itself. That is what is newly happening. I was always, since I started playing in July, 2009, able to do any of the menu actions on an item immediately, whether it was fully loaded onto the farm, or whether the avatar was next to it or clear on the opposite side of the farm. We used to also have an option to follow avatar or not....that is no longer there. :( Is there any way to get around this delayed action? :(

Ahhh i get what you're saying, tho i wasn't aware of any changes made. As for the follow avatar, yes that was removed a long time ago.

I'm with Kataltay, it's very irritating to have to wait until your avatar gets there or the item is loaded, whichever comes first, before you can click to 'buy multiple' or move it or whatever.

And also, does she/he really have to stand right on TOP of the item you've just bought when the line disappears? That is most frustrating when you're designing something, she gets sworn at often!! :D

This is starting to operate like the dreaded Farmville that I did love until they got so greedy it was not fun anymore. A quick fix until they fix it (or not) is to place the tree you are buying right beside your avatar. Then it will load immediately and you can move it where you want it and then click on it to use the buy multiple. And of course if you already have the tree on that farm you can click it and use the buy multiple immediately.

I agree with you Jean about working too fast for the computer to handle. I have a very fast computer, but even now, I sometimes go too fast for it and the farm acts up on me. I have learned that 'problem b'long me' NOT my computer and DEFINITELY NOT Farm Town :D

Well, I am not placing items onto the farm any faster than I ever did, so I cannot support the theory of us doing the things too fast for the game/computer to handle. It is a fact that, just a month ago, we did not have this constant "wait...I am busy". Sometimes, yes, it is a change within the game, and whatever their reasons, the developers decided to add more waiting time to this game.

Having said that, I totally love Farm Town, with or without these little "issues". I will never quit playing, and will continue to spend real money on it. :D

I am on W7 and can not go from one farm to another until it is all done harvesting, plowing, or seeding. I run on chrome and my husband on IE his runing slow but is getting there slower than usual.

I've bought all three cars here what I found. You must have the right facility on the farm and be on that farm before you buy the car. For example:

Before you can buy the flour car you must have the stone windmill and be on the farm with the stone windmill before you go to the store. If you go to the store and it is locked, then leave the store goto the farm with the windmill then back to the store it will remained locked until you reload the game goto to the right farm then to the store. it appears the game set the locks on the cars based on your first visit to the store and will only release the locks when you reload the game.

No you don't have to have the train tracks on all your farms, when the train goes on its trip it doesn't go to your facilities, it goes on a virtual trip. You just need to go to the farm that has the required facility to purchase that certain boxcar and then once you have purchased it you can move it to any farm you want, make sure you move it to where you want it cause once it goes on its trip you can't move it.

everyone that has had problems with FT being so slow have probably had their servers updating their FB you will see under apps we now have this thing called the app center.. that is what happened to me .. it was horribly slow most of the day yesterday; i finally gave up for the day trying to do anything came back a few hours later and wa la that was on my wall.. my sister had the same thing a few days ago... just saying that this could be effecting you also.. now farm town is working pretty good for me...

Why do we not get the daily lottery winnings anymore? I think it has been days since I won any. Anybody else not getting any?

Also are the DEVS working on the new Flash issue? I have reverted back to the old but now I am back to having the problem that when I select the farmers helping me it does not limit the list to just those that are.

Only if you have some Microsoft programs in your MAC. If you have a MAC the programs you get from Microsoft have to be made for MACs and only if they are approved by Apple..

I am getting mine, but have in mind to get the lottery winnings the first thing when you open your computer you have to go to FT, if you go to any other games or do anything else you don't get the lottery winnings.... at least that has been my experience.
And yes there are a lot of issues with the Flash, even the old ones are not working right. I get that "plug-in failure" at least 3 times a day and it is very annoying.

BTW.... isn't it time to close this thread, pretty please!!!!!

I agree, why does the 6x6 equipment require us to buy everything all over again, I have the 5x5 harvest/plow and the harvest/plow/plant, why should I have to buy all new stuff? This does seem like a money grab and that's why I quit all Zynga games...please, even tho I spent the farm cash to get the 6x6 harvester, can't you give us credit for what we've spent and just make it easier to get the 6x6 equipment? Please!
