While I appreciate the speed of the avatar, it does not help me. I am one of the ones who experiences at least a minute (more often more like 2 or 3) of loading time after combining farm "A" to get to farm "B" to begin planting that farm. I have nothing else on said farms but field plots. They are each 34x34 and I refuse to buy any further expansions due to this delay. This has been an issue for me for at least a year and I do all the routine maintenance that a good little long-time farmer knows to do such as memcache and such. From reading this thread, I am definitely not alone in this problem.

If your Farm Town account is under 6 months old, you either need to purchase 25 FC or get 25 FC from doing offers, it doesn't include leveling up.

U R sooo right about the games. I am disappointed at how the game companieis take advantage of the people 'addicted' to the game & have to spend real monies that really aren't afforded these days (I am 1 of them). I never thought that I would see a game on facebook take advantage of the players and actually make it even more difficult for those people who don't have the money to get ahead of the game, or even equal the players who have spent thousands of hours to obtain a few credits (enough to purchase 1 factory) It is nearly Impossible for a player to be able to reach the highest level without having to spend some of their hard-earned money, which is falling short in most households today. I would love to see a company such as this, step up, & actually change their entire way of allowing every player, achieving the highest level, by at the least, cutting every item in the store in half...(If factories were 15 FC instead of 30). It would be the most incredible move, by the Company, if they were to reach out to the non-paying players, & change all of the FarmCash items in half!! I will bet, that the number of players would actually increase, & those players that didn't pay before, might be more likely to cough up a few extra dollars bcuz they will be feeling an extreme sense of satisfaction & overwhelming JOY to be able to finally reach the highest level. But then, my dreams are squashed into spaghetti strands & back to reality.

Hi, As you have been playing for 4 years, this restriction does not apply to you. Once you have played for at least 6 months, the restriction is automatically lifted

The verification process referred to is the process for putting one's payment information on file for Facebook so that it can be accessed whenever one purchases anything via Facebook (for any Facebook game or even promoting posts.) So if you have already previously entered your credit card information or PayPal information to buy Facebook Credits you will NOT get the offer.

The improvements to the speed and the time outs are misbehaving a bit at least on server WF37. I've been getting time outs again while trying to go from one farm to the next while working for a neighbor this evening. And one of my neighbors said she was stuck on "Loading..." for quite a while too when she tried to log in to collect her gifts. Just thought you'd like to know!

Thanks devs for "Dim Out Non-Relevant Items for Tools - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this feature as it saves so much time. For those who haven't discovered it, click the Wrench and try it out!

As for the FC issue, as Shakespeare would say, "much ado about nothing." If someone is really a FT player with less than 6 months playing time, they need the leveling-up FC earned to improve their own farm and can't afford to be sending gifts yet.... Seems like 6 months is reasonable to separate those making fake accounts to benefit others (and thus driving up the costs for the rest of us) from those who sincerely want to get started in FT. JMHO

Hi! try the memcache link in my signature where it says AQUI to clear the game memory. You'll see a list of unsettings. Close that window and the farm if it is opened. Then clear your browser cache and close it. Reopen and check again.:)

I did a lot of these offers and found that more than half did not work. There was a place where you could click to contact them about issues. I was able to get all my farm cash by this way, but it usually took the initial email, then they would ask for specific information about the particular offer, even when it was included in my first message. Usually got my farm cash awarded in a few days with 2 or 3 emails... Took a lot of time, so I stopped doing them :)

The frequency of the problem made me wonder if some offers didn't pay, because they were getting what they wanted for free from anyone who didn't have the time to do the email thing?

If you're at the top level, has anyone ever sat down and figured out how much buying each of these facilities is costing in real money? No wonder there are upgrades in facilities every month with no change in level or additional ways of earning farm cash. That's why a lot of people who enjoy the game either get bored with playing the same level and quit or create ways of getting farm cash (like creating new "friends").

I just wanted to say, I have read all the complaints about the new release and all the changes. I am on a restricted income and I am completely addicted to farm town as well. I enjoy the game and I appreciate all the work the devs do to give us all this amazing game. I for one look forward to the new updates and I think they are doing a tremendous job. I put money into the game when I can and if I can not I do not. I have been playing less than a year and I have all the facilities, including the newest ones. I have worked hard to have twenty farms and I use my FC wisely. I just purchased the last of the cars for my train. I do everything possible to earn FC and coins so that I can purchase the things I want to buy. I am proof it is possible if you want to do it with having someone gift it to you. Thank you all at slashkey for this fantastic game. I love it and I can not wait to see what comes next.

this is getting frustrating, getting more and more expensive to play. And for those of us of on SSI or disability, it is getting harder to play this game we love. We don't get cost of living increases that barely keep up with essential living costs, and when you are limited to getting out of the house, this is your entertainment. I have been playing for years, but it is getting more and more that you need FC to get facilities etc. I guess the time will come, and I will have to give up this game and all the time etc I have invested on it. I used to look forward to the new releases, expanding farms, but not now. Seems like I am stuck for ages for the new levels, and when it comes out, it is way to expensive for my coins to get new farms or expansion on farms. It is sad.

But, here goes. After the update for October 8, I bought the Crafting Supplies Factory and My Souvenir Factory. I have completely filled those twice. Today, I purchased My Spa Supplies Factory and filled it. When I actually opened those facilities, there were no belts showing for ANY of the products in these 3 facilities.
Checked several of my other facilities and they all appear to be OK.

So, my question... Is this a worldwide glitch?? OR... Are we supposed to have belts and dans for these facilities?? OR... Is it just a glitch for poor pitiful me??:D
Anyway, sure would appreciate a response from one of the mods... Feel free to check out my farm and facilities. It should be linked and I just filled everything about an hour ago.

The automatic linking doesn't work so your farm is not linked, but a link is not necessary for this.

Well, Thanks Taz. Guess I was just so used to the belts being automatic when the facility was added. It seemed to be already there in the August 9 update for the Fencing and Wall Factory, so I just assumed (woops) that every time a new factory was added, the belts were, too.
And BTW, my farm IS linked... as I said in my post. I know that the "automatic linking" doesn't work, and my farm has been linked for over 3 years.

The offers referred to are in the Earn Cash tab at the top of your farm. However, if you have been playing for at least 6 months then you don't have a restriction.

Thanks for the update devs. Luv, luv, luv the new turbo avatar. No more having to save and exit the farm before irrigating ... YaY! Farms seem to load a bit faster, but still some noticable lag (if you consider 45 seconds to be lag) when planting one farm and moving on to the next to do the same.

Appreciate the work to consistently improve the game.

You have purchased 2 Farm cash items at a cost of 51 Farm Cash and you have a balance of 40 Farm Cash. This all sounds correct to me.

There is no record of you purchasing any Farm Cash or doing offers to earn Farm Cash.

because nobody can work your bank it is just like the mines and oil pumps

The point of this facility is to purchase the items in the bank and then you go to the market and sell the items, later they might have a facility that you can put the items into, I needed a bank next to my Federal Reserve building and since it cost coins, it doesn't hurt anything to get a few extra coins from selling the items.

To fill the items it is like the semi, bee hive, oil pumps, and the mines it takes coins to fill, not ingredients. If you see the facility take coins to fill it, with the exception of the train, more than likely it will not be able to be worked by neighbors.

I love the idea of 7th dan. However, I planted 3 farms of sunflowers and got 3 people harvesting them today. No bonus post came up but my seeder tells me I have reached 7th dan. It's so frustrating to have a glitch when one is looking forward to a bonus, especially as I time things carefully so that I'll only get one bonus post a day. That's a lot of sunflowers I've lost.

If you are talking about the bar at the bottom of the game screen where the chat box shows, you can organize your neighbors there by online status, just click on a neighbor and click on online status.

I have been playing FT since March 2010. I used to have other players help harvest etc., but it got so aggravating that I just quit asking others to work for me. I enjoyed playing by myself. Since I can no longer do that, I will spend a lot less time playing FT. I have bought a lot of FC until I learned how to get it otherwise. Nothing unfair about it. What I did ANYBODY could do. So I will be getting back to reading more and jigsaw puzzles. I have been spending way too much time playing FT. 1pm until 12am nearly every day. :(

It is not what you have purchased with your farm cash earned through leveling up that counts for that restriction. It is how much farm cash you have bought through the Buy Cash tab or earned through the Earn Cash tab. Or you can wait the 6 months before you can send a farm cash gift.

8X combine harvest plow plant with auto clicker at 8/sec and the load time are great 20mins for 20 large farms

I thought it was my imagination or that I did something wrong, but now I think there might be a glitch. When I harvest my own field and the 7th Dan pops up I can share the bonus crop with neighbors. When a marketplace person harvest for me and I click on the green check-mark to share the bonus it ignores me and does not give me that pop up window to share the request. Any one else having this problem?

After a complaint and testing, I have found that none of the Dan 1-7 Crop Bonuses are being added to your storage from the crops being harvested.

Never mine, the Dan Belt Bonuses are now going to Large instead of Regular.

For any reason have you removed and restarted Farm Town at any time, maybe due to problems? I ask because that may have reset your time. I know that when Tony looks for people's start date if they have restarted Farm Town then the date resets.

I have been laughing since the last release at my avatar, I love it but it brings back memories of the old "daisy wheel" from the IBM Selectric typewriter, her little head moves at the speed at which sometimes you think her head is going to jump out, and then sometimes you think you have 2 of them working at the farm.. I love it… also the first printers that came out that had the daisy wheel on them too.. no laser printers at that time.. and I am talking like when the first Lanier word processors came out for sale.. yep I think I gave my age away… :)

instead of going to the My Requests page in the ft game, go to My Apps on facebook and just click on the X...this happened to me ages ago and thats how I got rid of them...I have not had the same problem since...worth a try if all else fails..

I am so tired of having to reload FT coz I keep getting BLANK NEIGHBOURS, even when i load my farm with the trees and flowers turned off. I have had to reload FT so many times today that I actually lost count. I never had this problem until this new release.

What happened to the trains? I had 2 engines, 1 on each end of 5 cars, and could dispatch both at the same time. Now I can't. The error message says they are not connected, but they are. When I mouse over the engine, all cars highlight. I can only dispatch 1 engine.

At that time it did use fuel, then they changed it so it didn't use fuel, but the only thing they could do would be give you the coins that the fuel is worth, they can't add fuel to your account. Just have to be glad that they did change it so that it doesn't use it anymore.

That is a Facebook change. You have to click on the text in the box about the bonus itself and it will take you to it.

I'd like to know "what is with all the ads by bettersurf" and the green lettering in some of the post .....I use to enjoy coming to the Forum and reading everyone posts but, now with all the ads...it's a real pain...I love playing farm town but since the last update things are really gotten bad......I know you say you fixed the trains but so many of my friends are having so much trouble just trying to dispatch them and if they do get them dispatched...they can't send out the boost, "names won't load" and gifts are starting to do the ghost thing again....where you accept gifts and reload to get the next 50 and the same ones pop up or after you do finally get them, go to your farm and the same number shows in requests and you go back to gifts...then the same ones are there.

Just know that...you can always get new neighbors, but I always thought of Farm town as a family. If you are getting ads they are not coming from Farm Town. If they are coming via emails from the forum then they are spam posts here to a thread you are subscribed to.
Some people like to change the color of their writing which is an opetion here. If you mean in their names those are the moderators.
If your friends are having trouble dispatching their trains please ask them to come to the forums and post in the Problems with Trains thread, so that they can get help with it. The missing names appears to be a problem caused by Facebook.

Apparently the change to the single column is something Facebook has done. I just got it tonight too. If you are missing some of your neighbors from the list supplied by Facebook I would suggest you create a list in Facebook of your neighbors. That is what I use and even though it is a single column list at least all of them are listed there. With your own generated list you would be able to just go down the list clicking on all of them.
Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be anything that can be done about it.

On your Facebook Home page click on Friends in the left column or if you don't see that click on More at the bottom of the column and then friends. On the top of the next page is a button for Create List. Click on that and add your friends who are your Farm Town neighbors.
To use it for sending gifts after you have chosen the gift and clicked on preceed to send, on the next page click on the tab for Facebook Friend Lists. On that page a filter will appear and you click on that for a dropdown list will show all your friends lists.

Did you click friends in the left column of your newsfeed (home) page or from your timeline page? You should do that from your newsfeed page.

I thought it was my imagination or that I did something wrong, but now I think there might be a glitch. When I harvest my own field and the 7th Dan pops up I can share the bonus crop with neighbors. When a marketplace person harvest for me and I click on the green check-mark to share the bonus it ignores me and does not give me that pop up window to share the request. Any one else having this problem?

When I let someone from the market harvest for me, I was never even warned I had attained it. I was waiting for it and it never came, but It does show a pretty green 7 in my dans chart. As a result, I am doing all my own harvesting until I've attained all my dan degrees.

I usually set it to category cause then it groups everything together, crops, trees, flowers, and etc. Not sure how required organizes the items, but I now name is alphabetical and category puts them in groups.

He is selling anything you have deleted from the farm from the menu on the item or from using the bulldozer. Nothing is sold for FC. Anything you sell is for coins.

When you look at the ingredient planner it shows what is needed to fill according to the specific time frame without anyone working you facilities, there is no way for the program to know how many people would work your facilities. With it set to remaining capacity, it is just showing what is needed to just fill your facilities at that moment, if someone works your facilities and you would reload you planner, it would show different amounts, because more was used in your facilities, I always set mine for 15 days, that way I know what I am seeing is enough to run my facilities for a full run.

I guess if I were missing anything, this would have been more apparent to me as I would have been showing goose eggs for an amount. Makes sense now, and a really good option for those wondering why certain things can't be started. They can see exactly what and how much of something they need. Good one.
I've waited a long time for the devs to give us options to tighten down our enormous inventories. They are well on their way, but in my opinion, not quite there yet. BUT TONS BETTER.

Required organizes the items it takes to make something in ascending order. The most (of the ingredient that is required to make that item) being listed first. So this list is not usable (really) on the main facility manager page, but can be used for each individual facility as you open them.

The help points are really only used for the people that are in competition with other neighbors and just want to be able to say that they help neighbors more than their neighbors.

2nd question first, help points are calculated whenever you do the specific action required to receive the help points as long as you don't duplicate actions for the same neighbor, see the example in the quote below.

1st question, according to the release notes from October 8th, I would say that it is suppose to be points received is per neighbor per action, so if you gifted 35 gifts to 35 different neighbors you should get 35 points, because it states "A particular helping action only count once per friend in a few hours period". So that is why I would say you can gift to multiple neighbors and it count. With the exception of gifting Farm Cash gift cards, I have gifted approximately 5 to a close neighbor and have never received any points. I had reported it and since I don't really go by those points, I just ignore the help points.

The rules for computing the Help Given to Your Friends by You are:

1 point for CLAIM_BONUS, SEND_INGREDIENTS, SEND_GIFT and WATER_FLOWERS actions
5 points for WORK_IN_FARM, WORK_FACILITIES, WORK_SERVICE_FACILITIES, WORK_RAILROADS and SELL_PRODUCTS actions
FarmCash Price * 20 for each SEND_FARMCASH_GIFT action, this include ALL Farm Cash items, Certificates, Facilities, etc.

A particular helping action only count once per friend in a few hours period. For example, if you work in user X farm you get one point, if you work in user Y farm right after that you get another point, but if you work again on user X farm right after that it will not count, you will have to wait a few hours for it to count.

what a schamozzle....we finally sorted it out....the friend sent me a neighbour request which only showed up in fb's My Apps and did not appear in My Requests...for some unknown reason she ended up as a neighbour even though I did not accept this request....was able to remove her as a neighbour and then we were finally able to visit a mutual neighbours farm and then both went to the Inn and the hire for the bonus chest was successful....just a shame she missed out on the bonus from all my fishing!!

exactly!!! a week is 7 days...after that you are into the fortnight which is 14 days.......the release came out on the 5th November so it will have been 2 weeks tomorrow, the 19th November...its the 18th here today in Australia... since they said the new tools would be released in a week...but hey, I would prefer to wait til all the bugs are cleared before they release them....we just need to have a bit of patience...lol

I imagine it is due to them fixing the bug with the slowness between farms. The code for the new 10X10 probably had to be modified to include the bug fixes.

I guess I am one of the very few who HATES the update. My farms have NEVER been this slow, its absolutely horrible. After the past few days, I dont even want to farm. I spend over twice the time I did on trees and flowers now. Why did they ruin it?!?!?! :confused:

The release date of farmtown was Feb 1st 2009. And yes, if you have re-installed farmtown at any point, your start date would not be accurate. It would show the date you re-installed it.

You can no longer dispatch multiple trains using the same cars. That glitch was fixed to prevent that from happening.
This is from the October release:
The security exploit that allowed to dispatch more than one train using the same freight cars is now fixed. This include the case where 2 locomotives were attached to each end of the train and then dispatched separately, this can't be done now.

To find out your start date there is a thread in the Help and Support for that. Be sure to include a link to your farm so they can look it up.

a few days ago, the devs posted that they were working on other glitches, and the 10x10s would be released in a few more days..... hopefully.

so... for now, patience is the word.

As for the price, there should be a point in progress where a Turbo or high efficiency tool would be offered for coin.

If the 10x10 were offered, say for 1 billion coins, that would be cool. Then then 12x12, down the road, could revert to Farm Cash.

It should. The bait showing up in storage was a glitch a while back that was fixed and if you hadn't sold that off yet then it would still show there.

I'd also like to say one more time how awesome the recent changes to the game are. I've had to work at breaking the habit of saving and refreshing my farms each time I plant, harvest or plow. I get to be more productive in the limited time I have to play and the code is right behind me, always.

Still have to click save after harvest/plow, cause most of the time the very last plots that I use my combine on doesn't work until I either hit save or it takes a couple of minutes then it finally gets harvested and plowed. It isn't that bad though, I am use to clicking save after working a farm.

The farms are connected to the Facebook account by the Facebook ID. There isn't any way to transfer a farm to another account. The only way to get it back is to get the Facebook account back.

It may be that your computer processor is just not up to the task anymore, what with expanded farms and increased amounts of data needing to be processed back and forth with the Slashkey servers. Maybe adding another stick of RAM might help? I have a rather old machine with only a 1.8mhz processor iwth 1G of RAM and I'm not having any lag using the 8x8's. Hope you figure it out soon and get back to having fun with your game, problems suck. Good luck! :)

When you click to do things on your farm like harvesting the game saves every 2 times you click. If you watch the avatar does 2 things at a time. If you have an odd number of items to do then you will see the avatar doing what you describe. As marymarcel said, click the save and it will finish.

Not sure if this is relevant to what the devs have recently done but I'm now working on a neighbour's farm and the farms that she's employed me to work are not highlighted as they usually are. I can click and go there to work, but as I say, the small boxes are not highlighted.

That's been a problem since the fading feature of the diamonds was first added. They hope to have it fixed in a future update. In the meanwhile all I can suggest is being very careful to do the farms in order in spite of the fact that they are not highlighting correctly.

While I'm typing here, so people have complained that the game has been too slow recently. I suggest trying various browsers to see if FT works any better in them. I have switched to mainly using Maxthon and Opera and the two of them have worked wonderfully - especially Opera since it leaves more than 75% of my computer memory free.
