I cannot find the option "do not send ships to" Where can I find this option? i am getting very frustrated with people that leave my ships in their ports for days and days. I have to check every day to see who is not accessing my ships. Thanks for a great game.

Hi gramanorma :)

I'm sorry but we dont have that option for the ships.

Instead, while you are preparing your ship, you can click in Ship's Logbook tab and you can replace up to 10 of your neighbors.

If your ships is dispatched and you see it is stuck in a port you can skip that port.

You have full information about Ships in our Game guide:

There seems to be a glitch with the ships when they first return and are unloaded. If you try to prepare them, then, even if there is no other ship in preparation, it will say first that you have 24 hours to prepare the ship. Then a pop-up says you only have 24 MINUTES to prepare the ship and your best option is to despatch it (empty). If you close and reopen the ship then the available time reverts to 24 hours.

Hi Sqrl :)

That happens because the data doesnt update automatically, so when you close and reopen, data shows the correct information.

I'm so frustrated about ships. I have so many friends/neighbors opting out that it's difficult to find 30 to send a ship out of the 150 neighbors I have. One of my ships this morning had three "pinked out" since I dispatched it. I hate to unfriend or un-neighbor most of these players because most of them do quests, work facs, etc.... just not doing ships. I wish there were some way to entice them... seems we get a generous reward for passing them on.. but I think it's the rules about filling containers that have deterred so many.

I like the idea of doing ships..I do think the time frame it is too tight..& I do hate it when i have been away for a while and see others ships piled up.
I feel bad for the other player.
i do dislike this new part of the game..

I used to just go on FT when it suited me, a few times a day but not in one hour increments to load the ship... now I feel obliged to keep checking and the fun is going away....

Please change the ship set up it isnt what suits the game..FT has always been about a relaxing game away from stress now it is clock oriented and not the game it was..

Is there a way to set maximum time for my cargo ships to leave a neighbour that has exceeded the time?

Hi LakeSide Farm,

No I'm sorry , that's not possible. You have to move them on yourself before port 30.

Coudn't it be programmed, that for a certain amount of FC, that our ships would only stay in a port a fraction of the 24 hours, be automatically loaded and sent on. Speaking, as one, who's seen ships hang in a port 6, 12, 20+ hours and even days. Just today, I sent a note to a farmer who, according to the green dot, ws on their farm, reminding them tht the ship had been in port 4+ hours. Did they move the ship? NO!. Did they respond? NO! Sent them a message to their FB page and to this moment, no response. So, give, these experiences from farmers who don't get with the program, can't we buy an option for ships staying past a certain time frame?

Hi lineking :)

If you have a suggestion it is better to post it in our Suggestion section where the developers can read it.

You cant start a new thread there, but you can post as a response to a thread that fits with your idea.

This is the link to that section:

The option to stopping ships all together is in settings. You can't sail your ships and refuse to do other peoples ships. It is either on or off. I have all the ships and put them into storage as i was getting very annoyed at people for not doing my ships when i was doing there's. So now i just refuse to send any until the rules are changed and it has also made a few of my neighbors stop playing with the stress caused by these ships. They are fine if you want to be to till they get sorted properly. They are just a rip off for the normal farmer who spends just an hour or so a day doing there farms and helping others. In other words they are becoming a chore and not a fun way to relax.

Hi Sqrl,

It's still there, but you have to be doing something on your farms that communicates with the servers so that data updates. If you aren't doing anything then it won't appear.

Hi rodneycs,

I'm sorry but if they do not move your ship on, it will stay in port 30 until the 7 days is up. Had they disabled their port your ship would have returned to you after port 29.

TBH I'm getting a bit fed up with the ships. At the start they were OK but now, well, it seems nobody can be bothered. In fact for the last 2 weeks or so they have been just over half loaded.

To top it off, I spent ten hours loading all 10 containers on my blue cargo ship today, just to see them all go back to empty just as the last one was finished !!!:mad:

Hi CraigTH,
If you would like for us to check on your preparation, please provide a link to your farms so we can check this. Going to your farm and copying the address does not work as that is a generic link that takes us to our own farms. The automatic linking does not work either so you will have to create one and paste it here in a reply. Please follow the instructions on how to do that are in the following link:
http://r1.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=579554

I am sorry, but we can't do anything about your ships coming back only half loaded. That all depends on your neighbors loading them.

Oh I realize that ! It's just that interest was high at first but it's just tailed off now. I've got to know the ones that load and the ones that don't. Just wonder if it's worth all the effort.

Hi CraigTH,
Since you already started again preparing that ship then I can't see the data for the previous preparation. Only thing that will make that happen is if you go beyond 24 hours in preparing the ship.

Hi CraigTH,
Only you can decide if it is worth it. I look at it this way. It only costs coins which are free (no real cash cost), and anything I gain is better than nothing.

b) Show real facebook names in a tooltip when mouse over user photos in Cooperative Quests, Neighborhood Chains Contest, Ships and Neighbour Bar screens. This will help people identify better their neighbours.

So please check the March New Release from time to time for any news about this feature

As far as I can see, this still hasn't been done - it's now April. Thank You. I am getting used to the ships, but this would help tremendously.

Hi dleenorris :)

Those was released during March

Post-Release Updates - March 15th, 5:00PM

- Released ship improvement b) in the item #6 above in the main post

If you, let say, hover your mouse on one of your neighbors pictures in the neighbor's bar below the screen, you will see their real first name. Same for the other options like Ships, Neighborhood contest, Cooperative quests.

Hi Carolp,
Is this neighbor in the #30 position? If so you can not skip anyone in that position.
If not then please try clearing your memcache (link below), then when the page of unsetting text opens close that as it is done.
If your farm is open close it. Then reopen and try again.

That is just the way the developers set it up so you can only prepare 1 ship per day.

can we please get an option to block certain neighbors ports so our ships don't go to them? i have about 14 neighbors who do not do the ships and they refuse to turn off/close their ports, stating its not their problem if neighbors ships come to their port and get stuck. yes i know i can exchange the ports, just getting tired of exchanging these 14 ports with other ports every day, these 14 are on the "farmers helping me" list so they are always on the ships itinerary of ports to visit but would love to be able to tick specific ports not to visit without removing/deleting these players as friends/neighbors

Hi storm36,

If you would like to make a suggestion for the game please place it in the Suggestions area of the forum where they are all gathered for the developers to see. You can not start a new thread there, what you do is reply to one with a title that most suits your idea. Here's the link to that area >>

Tried with these new times for the ships.. started the 18th, and dispatched one ship with one container each day since, had 2 ships arrive home, 4 still out and 1 to dispatch tomorrow. The times for container prep have been varying from day to day.. and now its saying it will take 9 minutes for a container where previously it said 12 minutes.. and I am sure this time will change again... I have decided its not worth the bother... once a ship is unloaded the game does not seem to recognize that it was dispatched either..

Hi Aussie Rae,
I moved your post to the General Feedback because you were not making a suggestion.
The game does recognize how many you have dispatched in the last 7 days (starting from the date of release), however most who dispatched one during the server problems will be missing the one for that day.

Disappointingly, today's ships are taking 54 minutes to load. Yet the Mayor knows I've dispatched ships every day!

On the other hand, I must say that over the last few months I have been very impressed by what Farm Town has done to make the ships more and more user friendly since they first came out. I especially love the crops ship, it avoids so much frantic daily planting! But look at all those other goodies that are available too that used to turn me green with envy in the early days - things you could only get if you had cash to pay for the facilities that produced them! Everyone should do ships!!!

all smiles now, after starting by prep of one container on one ship each day, and dispatched, finally got the times down to the minimum for each container on each ship... just have to make sure to have one back and ready to unload so the number of dispatched ships does not drop below that magical 6, :)

I made a list of every ship I sent out, with the names of the ports and how long it took them to send it. I was on ship #125 before I quit playing FT. I quit playing because I was so tired of waiting the 24 hours to prepare and send another ship. Just made me so mad that I wasted all those coins on 7 ships, when I was barely able to keep 4 going at a time. I heard they changed it, so I decided to give it a try. Well... Now it's even WORSE! I can finish filling my ship in 3 hours now ONLY to have to sit and wait for 20 hours to send the darn thing. No thank you FT. Guess I'm quitting AGAIN :-(

I like the new short-time enhancement.

I would not enjoy having to play all day to fill a container every hour or so. Now, they can be filled quickly, and I can spend the rest of the time either doing other FT stuff.... or .... other non-FT stuff.

Thanks Devs - you rock.

Hi smittysun,
If you disable your port then your ships stop. "When the "Ships" feature is disabled your seaport will not receive any more ships from other players and other players will not be able to load your ships."

It seems the cargo ships are defeating the purpose of a "social" game. It's really causing a lot of animosity, and I'm not an exception to that.

I have several people I have to replace, or skip, because my ships will sit there for a day or more. I did a little experiment and left *their* ships in my port instead of moving them on. I wanted to see how long they would sit there before they skipped me. Days. It appears these people are dispatching their ships, but not returning to the game again, or ignoring their ports. And yet I have to continually replace them when I dispatch my ships and I'm running out of reliable replacements.

I didn't "do" ships myself for a long time. Now, I'm running out of animal products, so thought I'd go ahead and give it a try. Took me a long time to realize the "take" for those is almost negligible, and when you have to skip five or more ports to bring the ship home, it's almost nothing. But I *do* get a *lot* of stuff I don't need.

Fortunately, I haven't received "hate mail" from people about working ships. I did get a message from a friend asking if I would move her's on, but I posted on my wall to please do that in case I forget to check into FT.

I hope the devs rethink the ship thing. It's great that it doesn't take so long to dispatch the ships now, but the reward isn't worth the hassle.

Hi jennytwoshoes,
In your preferences at the bottom is a check box for "Enable ships." Uncheck the box and that will disable your port.

I have a question for those of you who are doing the ships. How long do you consider a reasonable time for someone to load and move your ships along? I have never had a ship reach the 30th port, and I feel I am always skipping people. I know people have to sleep and they don't spend their entire waking day on FT, but I have to think if someone hasn't been here in over 24 hrs, I can skip the port. Sometimes, though, I think even 15 hours is too long. I don't really want to send messages to ask people to load my ships.

Joyinlife

I do not like the way they have ships set up. I switched to trains only.

What made me finally quit ships is the fact that I cannot skip the 30th person and that is usually is someone that will not do ships. So I wait and wait and wait. I think the entire system needs to be redone.

Hi Joyinlife,
You do have the capability of replacing 10 of the ports as well as being able to move them around, so you can place someone in the30th position that you know will do your ship and not have to wait the full 7 days for it to come back.

There needs to be a better system for filling the log for ships. I just launched a ship, but when I went to check the log before I dispatched it, I was astounded to see that it was almost totally filled with people I have skipped or replaced many, many times. I only could exchange five at the top and five at the bottom, but I have serious doubts that the middle ones will send my ship along. There should be some way that we could eliminate people from that roster or have a designated list of "favorites". Most of these non-ship people are otherwise good neighbors so it would not be a good move to unfriend them.

Even with the loading time changes it is still nearly impossible to fill a ship completelyunless you can come back to the game every hour on the hour for 10 hrs to fill the next container. Most of us especially those who have a real job do not have that kind of time.

Hi ccheney,
Try loading only 1 or 2 containers, then dispatch the ship. Do that for several days and you will get the times down to a few minutes and will be able to prepare a whole ship of containers in about an hour. As long as you keep it up doing a ship daily then you will not be spending hours to prepare a ship.

I want to know why I can replace ppl on a ship, but then the next ship I can't replace anyone. It will let me drag them to another position but I can't replace them. So as it stands right now some ships I can replace ppl and some ships I can't.
Thanks Cathy

Hi Cathy,
If you can't replace people on the next ship, then please try clearing your memcache (link below), then when the page of unsetting text opens close that as it is done.
If your farm is open close it. Then reopen and try again.

Is it possible to convince the developers to invert the option for ships ?

I thought it was just happening to me, but after asking around it appears that many have given up on the ships but at the same time refuse to untick the option of ships so as to annoy those that still run ships.

Inverting the option will at least give us a chance to have ships successfully completing 30 ports. Something I have not done now for many weeks.

I don't want nasty replies. I just want to know if it is possible.

If you want to make a suggestion please post it in the Suggestions section where we collect them together for the developers to see. You can't start a new thread there but you can reply to one that fits your suggestion.

I haven't gotten to all 30 ports either. I have to skip a lot too.I try to keep in mind that people have lives outside of the game. I try to load my neighbors ships as much as I can but like a lot of people I have a real job which takes precedence loading a fake ship. I can't be there all day loading neighbor's ships nor do I expect others to be there waiting for mine. I get on the game in the evening after work and I send out what ships are waiting for me then. I usually wait 24 hrs and if my ship hasn't been loaded I send it on.

I skip after 8 hrs or if the person is a close friend then 10 hrs. What I find most annoying is when people have a green cicrlce by their name which should mean they are on their farms and they do not send ships on. You choose people to send the ships to on original despatch from the green circles and then the ships aren't sent on.

You delete neighbours who don't send ships on and leave them as friends. I have deleted many neighbours this way but of the 60 people doing ships there are only maybe around 10 people I know will send ships on [promptly. In the night when I get up to go to the toilet I always send ships on.

I have 4 ships out and 2 ships ready to unload. I am in the process of preparing my last ship. For the first 9 containers it was 6 minutes then my last one jumped to 11 minutes. Why is that. The timings are not very consistent and I have found that some times the length of time for a container to be completed varies on the same ship. Hmmm what is going on.

Hi Vivienne :)

When your time for loading changes it is because a ship on the dispatched list drops off the list decreasing how many ships you have dispatched in the last 7 days. Each ship only stays on the list exactly 7 days from the time it is dispatched.

You can see how many ships are on your dispatch list by clicking on the ? within the container box, next to the laoding time, you are currently loading. It will tell you the date and time of each ship so you know when one gets to 7 days old it will drop off the list.

Getting very frustrated/disappointed with the ship thing. Spend an hour preparing and sending mine off every morning but they are just not getting enough support. Hi Snookie Sue,
Are you using the Replace to put neighbors in your ship logbook that do the ships? Not everyone will or can do the ships. We can't force them to do it. Even if the rewards for loading them were increased some just don't have the time to constantly watch for ships in their port. Only thing you can do is try to find enough neighbors willing and able to do the ships.

I'd like to vote in favor of having the ships follow the train model for being loaded. Not only does it take a large amount of time loading them but then to have to dart in all the time (I was trying to come every 4-6 hr) to move ships on & check on whether mine were stuck left me feeling absolutely frazzled. So to keep my calm my nerves, I shut my port permanently. The other issue is that it's crazy to have to click potentially 11 times for each ship. I have Lupus and I know many in here have some sort of arthritis issue with their hands--all this unnecessary clicking isn't good. I'm sure a reasonable accommodation can be found. Thanks for rethinking how the ships are handled & if you can't "reprogram" them. How about having planes that are handled a better way---like the trains. Y'all do a great job with the game and with listening - Thanks - Shirley Hancock.

Hi Shirley,
I moved your post to the General Feedback subject thread about the cargo ships as you are not asking a question or have a specific problem with the cargo ships. You post in the Suggestions section about this was deleted as replys or comments, for or against suggestions are not allowed in that section.

Hi Stone Face:)

I moved your post to General Feedback forum so you will all be free to post your thoughts about ships.
I personally think that tons of farm cash would be much better for the ships. You would see a lot more people working them, LOL. The problem I have with ships is the people you get to unload them. There are a lot who do not do ships and ignore it when you sit there for 24 hours. I wish there was a way to just get ACTIVE PLAYERS listed. I also believe some still do not know 'how to' process ships and I think it wouldn't hurt to announce how again. I am really getting frustrated with ships. Trains are so much easier.

ONE MORE THING. I think for new products we could really use grass paths and little bubbles to enclose something someone is thinking. At least personally, I could use them. Thanks!

Hi Joyinlife,
If you can't post then please post that problem in the Help & Support forum thread about Newsfeed posts, so we can help you with that.

Try going through the Facebook Neighbor Requests posts and see if you can find some active players. Many specifically state they do the ships and are looking for neighbors that do ships. Here is a link to that thread:

I haven't read every post but would like to voice my personal opinion.

I've been playing this game for years and it's only since developers released ships that I'm seriously contemplating quitting the game because so many of my FT friends with me as a FT neighbor have been overly demanding and sometimes outright rude over these ridiculous ships.

Anyway, this week I finally turned the ship feature off, again, and expect, like the last time I turned it off, to lose even more FT friends with me as a neighbor. Thus, even fewer FT friends helping me with my coop quests.

Frankly, I think ships takes away from enjoyment of FT rather than enhance the experience. And, if it's necessary to keep the game feature, I'd rather developers offer, for sale, some sort of auto feature tool so I can participate without being forced to actively participate given I work and don't sit in front of a computer accessing Facebook throughout the day.

I'm not going to voice a complaint as many have already said it for me, but .......
I have a suggestion .......

Can we not have a selection window where we can choose which player we want to send our ships to ?
One that can be edited when need be.

This restriction of changing 10 is now no where near enough, and is also very time consuming for us who go to work or do other things that restrict our available online gaming time.

I like the ships, but am getting frustrated at having to sort out the ports, and apologising to those who I don't get to move on in what they class as acceptable time.
I too have been losing neighbours over this, but fortunately (on my main account) still have over 80 active neighbours.

I stopped preparing and sending out my own cargo ships long ago. And, that's ok ... I don't have the time to do so, but know I have neighbors that do participate with this part of the game

I sleep through the night and work during the day and it isn't at all uncommon for 8 hours to as many as 15 to lapse before I'm able to log in and, then, being forced to excessively mouse click (which, by the way we all know contributes to wrist injury) to move my neighbors' ships along.

Although, 8 to 15 hours might work for me, throughout the months I have received tens of messages, asking me to attend to ships sitting in my port. Not all such messages have been intended to be interpreted as a polite reminder.

Worst, I have come to realize that a significant number of my FT friends have dropped me as their neighbor, which, of course, negatively impacts my ability to easily participate with the coop quests part of the game.

This is a big deal because I have been a good neighbor by moving ships along, yet I'm being punished, as a player, only because of the way cargo ships has been structured to operate.

IMO, cargo ships is not at all an enhancement to my FT gaming experience --- it has been the opposite.

Please understand, I have been an active and consistent player for years, have invested hundreds of dollars into purchasing every FC tool, every FC facility, some in multiples, and before that, a good number of FC decorative items. I've never stopped or taken breaks, yet since Cargo Ships introduced, I'm contemplating quitting FT altogether.

I too have gotten unfriendly reminders about loading ships. Like a lot of people I work and don't have time to sit and load fake products on fake ships all day. I get on the game for a while when I get home and fill whatever ships are in my port then. If people can't accept that and want to drop me as a neighbor fine. I can come here and find more neighbors.

What really don't like about ships is I get very little back. I'm lucky if I get back 500 of every product I load. For all the time it takes to prepare the ship it's a waste of time for that little bit in return.

Hi Momma Woods,
I moved your post to the General Feedback thread about the cargo ships as you don't seem to be asking a question or a problem that we can help with.
We all have neighbors that don't do ships. You just have to keep trying until you can get 30 that will do them.
For those whose ships are coming through your port they have you as a neighbor even if you don't have them as neighbors. If you want to get those to be your neighbors and load your ships you will need to send them a neighbor request. Once they accept then you can assign them as a port for your ships.

These ships are getting annoying.
5 more players have shut their ports overnight.
That now makes 8 in the last week alone.

Either switch the option box to activate ships (not deactivate ships) of give us the option to change more players.
Better still let us have a selection box where we can tick the player we know that will send on ship.

I've asked for these options many times in many different areas in this forum, and nothing ever happens.
And the posts I put in the supposed correct section keeps being deleted.

Your posts are not deleted from that section, but they may have been moved to the appropriate thread. When members post in the My suggestion doesn't have a thread we find the appropriate thread and move your post to that thread. The only posts that get removed from suggestions are replies or comments about other's suggestions as that is not allowed in that section.

I also recently turned off my port because I too kept getting rude nasty messages telling me to send on ships. Like most people I have a real life and a real job. I don't have time to go to the game all day and load and send fake ships.

Another reason I turned them off is the little bit I get back isn't worth the time and effort it takes to load the ships. I have 6 ships and am lucky if I get 300 of each product back from each one.

I still have my ships and port and I may turn it on again eventually but for now it is staying as a decoration.

Today at about 11:00 am EST, we started preparing the containers of the Purple ship. We had prepared 2 containers and at approximately 12:15 pm went to prepare the 3rd container, we saw to our amazement that the boat was dispatched with only 1 container prepared. I suspect that her Captain was drunk again. When the ship returns, he will be fired.

In the same time i noticed that the Green ship that was due to arrive to port tomorrow noon time, was in our port ready to unload. I immediately went down to the dock and I saw the Captain and the crew on the dock disoriented. Eventually the Captain collected himself and he said that as the ship was sailing with a speed of 20 kts, all of a sudden the ship was engulfed in a very thick greenish fog, everyone went bananas, and when the fog departed they were inside the port ready to unload. Do you think that the ship went thru a time portal?

Hi Edmo,
To answer your second question, the ships have 7 days to go through all 30 ports. That does not mean they have to spend the whole 7 days out. If your neighbors happen to quickly catch and load your ship then it is possible for the ship to return early.
For the first question, the only way the ship could be dispatched is if you accidently hit the dispatch button that replaces the prepare containers button when you have started preparing.

Ok all ships back at home port on all 4 accounts.
No more ships are being sent out until a better system is in place to organise and send them.
I have over 100 neighbours active within last month, around 70 still have ships as active, but only 15 seem to send ships on.
Even having a spreadsheet set up for good and bad ports is not enough as the limit of changing 10 is way too low.
I will keep on forwarding ships that come to my ports, but my own ships are not sailing.

Cargo Ships:
Why can we not choose the neighbors that always play and keep them as our constant players . Each time I have a loaded ship, I must go through and try an remove neighbors whom I know will not play and replace them with those who do. I have tried to contact my neighbors by messages and ask them to take their ships offline if they are not playing. Most are nice, some are not and stated take me off as your neighbor if you don't like the way I pay the ships. This was not the response I was hoping for. One neighbor said "I go to the ships and it says" wait 5 minutes, so I wait 5 minutes. I tried to explain to him that message meant the ship had been waiting 5 minutes on him to load the cargo. I have a few neighbors who are great and I would just like to automatically keep them as the ones who are in my ship and not those who don't play correctly or not at all. Please help

Hi
Reading through the Ship Guide and some of the posts on the forum, it looks like you can get your buddies to do your ships for you. Is this correct? If so, how do you do it? Not all my neighbours are playing cargo Ships.
Thanks

Hi Walkies,
I am sorry, but buddies can not do your ships. That is reserved only for neighbors. What you may be seeing and thinking it is allowed is how to remove yourself from someone's Buddy List or as their neighbor. Both options are there when you visit their farms.

A few time now, I have had this issue, most recently, this morning....

I open my farm, and I saw that I had 12 ships ready to be "worked". Usually there are 3,4,5 or so

I had last worked the ships about 10 hours ago, last night.

The first 8 ships all showed 12-20 hours !!! of waiting time.

If those numbers are true, I think some of my neighbors would have to believe I just as not helping out for nearly a day or so.... not true.

Anyway..... what could be causing the delay of showing that info to me? Pirates???

Hi StoneFace,

It sounds like there was a problem with data transferring in a timely manner. All you can do is refresh your game before you log off for the night and check your date and time on your computer is still showing correct.

Hi
Personally I think the ships are great. As I have said before they are a wonderful way of obtaining stuff like horse hair or honey, that are only available to you if you have bought the cash facility, and many shortages can be avoided, for instance, before the ships you had to plant certain crops every day and still never have enough.
Unfortunately I have neighbours who play regularly but do not send ships on. I can't understand why, but it is their choice.
I have other neighbours who play regularly and who are so fed up of neighbours who don't send ships on that they are threatening to deactivate their ships. This means I lose even more "shipping" neighbours and will end up with more and more people who have stopped playing altogether or people who play but don't do ships.
I appreciate that you have made quite a few changes to the original plan, to make it easier and more acceptable and attractive to us, but is there any chance you could reduce the number of ports? Thirty is way too many.
Thanks

Hi Walkies,

Please, all suggestions for the game need to go in the suggestions area of the forum, where all ideas are gathered together in one place for the developers to see. Here's the link to that section, you can't start a new thread there, what you do is reply to one that most suits your idea.

I think that a rethink on skiping ports is required. My first experience with my yellow ship, fully stacked was not good. I came back in a week and it was still sitting in number 1's port. Since then I have been more proactive, adjusting the log before sailing and at times messaging the farmers direct on FB when it has been untouched for over 1 day. I imagine like most farmers have done all they can do, and i believe we should not be penalized for having to skip a port.

I agree with you, Alabone. I think it's overly punishing at this point. What do you think the solutions should be?

I'm struggling to get people (who are currently my friends & neighbours) added so my ship has a full number of ports to be worked - yet, some friends and neighbours come to my port for me to work their ships. How do I get those people authorized or whatever so my ship gets fully worked? Currently, only 24 ports get worked!

Hi Stephent1,

You can only send your ship to those that you have on your neighbours bar. If when your port is chosen you know you have some that will not send your ship on, then you can replace up to 10 of them for ones that do. The following day you can reuse your port itinerary from the previous day and change ports again if you still need to.

Anyone who has sent you a neighbour request that you have accepted, has you on their neighbours bar and can send you their ship.

Full details on how to replace ports and reuse the previous itinerary is in the Game Guide Chapter 32 - Ships. Here's the link to it >>

Only your neighbors will show for your ports to send your ships too. In this case buddies can't be used.

Hi dorissau :)

They probably were friends at some point. The good thing is your frind can fix this by visiting that farmer farm.

Under their picture they will see a button where it says non-friend. Click on that and it will take them to the non friend farm. There is a little toolbox in the lower left area, click on that. There will be 2 items that pop up. Click on the top one to remove them as their neighbor and the second one to remove them from their buddy list. After your friend does that they will not get more ships from that user in their seaport.

Please tell your friend to follow the instructions given in the following thread to register in the forum:

Hi Dorissau,
You can choose your own neighbors to work your ships. You can replace up to 10 each time you prepare a ship and reuse the last roster, so technically within 3 ships being dispatched you can replace all 30 of them provide you have enough neighbors to do that.

I solved the problem by not shipping out my ships. Too much time is invoived in the process of getting them back to port. I much prefer the trains. You send them on their way and you depend on no one to get them home. You can speed up the process if you choose or not. Ships should be set up like trains.

Hi DeniseDJ,
Try using the Reuse Last Itenirary. That way once you have removed them from your list they won't be on the next one.

Hi wvagirl,
Your list can only include your neighbors, so the only thing you can do is to get neighbors who do the ships. There isn't anything that Farm Town can do to help that.

The most frustrating thing I experience on FT is when I load containers on Cargo Ships. It is most frustrating to have that pop up keep popping up to let me know that a container has finished loading. Even after I have loaded ALL containers and well after I have dispatched my ship, I continue to get that pop up, regardless of what I am currently doing. There is NO way to stop it. Why can't the developers add a box for us to check, to prevent us from being notified? Is there a way to stop this that I am unaware of? I've tried reloading the game, clearing my cache files, rebooting my computer etc. nothing works. I'm really sick of dealing with this every time I load containers and dispatch a cargo ship.
Thank you

I moved your post to the thread about the Cargo ships.
The only thing I can Suggest is to report this to Support and see if they can find out why it continues to happen for you. To contact Support click on the link below, fill out the form and submit it. Be patient as it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days for them to respond to you depending on how many tickets they have ahead of yours.

I was so excited to see the new cargo ship tools, and I went out and bought them. But you know clicking 11 times per ship in the dock is nothing compared to devoting upwards of 10 hours to the game in order to load one ship. These tools should work at home as well as they work on foreign soil.

Hi AnnaWalls,
You can lower that amount of time required to prepare the containers, by dispatching a ship each day. The more ships you have dispatched in a 7 day period the lower the time for preparing each container. The following information is in the Game Guide chapter 32 about the ships:
http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6164118#post6164118

When I have to stop my ships for a while because I am not able to be on for vacation or other reasons, then when I start up again I prepare 1 or 2 containers for each ship each day instead of preparing all 10. Then I send them out with the small number of containers until I have sent out enough ships to get the times back down to workable amounts.

Hi MOM GLENDA :)

I moved your post to Discussions about cargo ships in General Feedback.

Think many of us have to redo our logbook, some farmers have stopped playing after the migration waiting to have all features back and others maybe forgot about the Ships, how they work and how to close their ports if they dont want to do them.

You may continue trying till you have a list that likes you, you could ask your neighbors if they are doing ships and have an idea how many are working them.

Hi al_bundy :)

I moved your post to Discussions about Cargo ships thread.

Maybe you dont have enough time to spend on the game waiting for all containers to be loaded.
You can lower the amount of time required to prepare the containers, by dispatching a ship each day but only with the amount of containers you can load, no matter if they are only one. The more ships you have dispatched in a 7 day period the lower the time for preparing each container.

Given the range of 4.5 - 6 minutes, per container, it's not impossible to prep a ship in about an hour, if you're attentive. If need be, you can use the timer on you phone's watch, setting it for the interval. Even at worst, it's not impossible, if one's attentive, to get the job done in the 24 hr period.

I have been filling and doing ships since they came about. Each day I become a little more frustrated by how we send them off to ports, for one reason after another get stuck because players forget to close their ports. Another problem is that even if they do close their port it is done without any notice. I currently have two people who have closed their ship and one neighbor who has gone MIA and that ship has been stuck for one day plus 12 hrs. Ships should be done the same as trains so farmers can keep better track of them and not lose cargo. Maybe it is time to stop using them! PattyAnne

Hi PattyAnne,
Are you using the same logbook for all your ships? If not that can help if you pick the most active of your neighbors. You can find out how to do that in the Game Guide chapter 32 about ships.
If you want to make a suggestion about how to do the ships please post it in the Suggestions section where we organize those by subject for the developers to see.

I have a lot of neighbours who neither move on ships nor close their ports. It is, I agree, very frustrating. I've put them all in a block between more reliable neighbours so my ships don't get stuck. Never put someone unreliable at the end of the logbook. Your ship will be there for EVER. Controlling in which order your ships visit the ports is vital to successful shipping.

Hi QueenMab,
You can choose a permanent list if you do the replace and set them in the order you want. The only thing you have to remember is when you are preparing the ship is to go to the log book and click on reuse last itinerary. Instructions on how to do this are in the Game Guide chapter about Cargo Ships.

there is no room for error untill the time frame is extended my ships are mothballed im leaving my port open to send others ships on only.

I think the developers need to come up with a better way for neighbors to load and sent ships on to the next post. I currently have four ships help up by one neighbor. One has been in her port for 1 day and 4 hours. Farmers are postings all the time asking neighbors to close their ports if they are not going to be available in a timely fashion. It is very frustrating as it is time-consuming preparing the ship only to have it sit at a port over 24 hr period and/or skip the port. All farmers should have at least one option to forward a ship that is stuck on all ships, not just the blue ship. I had one stuck on the last port until the time ran out to send it home due to the death of the farmer. Thank you for listening to my concerns. Patty

Hi Farmgalpatti,
You do have the option to skip any port except for the last one. There are also tools you can purchase to allow you to self load some of the ports. If you are consistently having ships sit in a neighbor's port then you have the option to replace them in your logbook with another neighbor. So there are ways to advance your ships when they are stuck in someone's port.
If you have a specific suggestion of a different way to all moving ships on from port to port themn please post it in the Suggestions section where we have those organized by subject for the developers to see rather than posting it here in the General Feedback.

I agree, I've just had one of mine sit there for 2 days on one of my farming friends ports. I usually forward it myself after 24 hours (I have the overhead crane things, so worth the price) but I forgot.

They should be a rule, that if you don't do the prepare, dispatch, and unload yourself, then your ships will be automatically turned off in 24 hours. Or at least: a i forward them tick box, and a I do ships tick box, or I do ships and forward yours tick box
Slashkey could you make that happen.

I also agree. There should be a way automatically disable a port if you are not active in the shipyard. Very frustrating waiting to se it someone is going to advance your ship or not

All players that refuse to load ships can use Preferences to Disable Ships, then they will stop appearing on our dispatch log, right?

Slashkey assigns the neighbors to my ships; I need to be able to pick only those who are active. I recently removed a neighbor due to ships sitting at her port for days; then I found she was only active, like once a week.

The only way to remove her from my dispatch log was to remove and unfriend her. She did not post for or help refer/speedup either, so no big loss.

I don't know why we can't choose, permanently, who's ports we want the ships to dock at. I have plenty of friends who do not want to do ships so my stuff sits there for days. Sometimes you can catch it and skip ports, but then it just gets stuck at the last one. Now I see why people DON'T want to do them.

I stopped sending my ships out for a while ~ do not understand why players do not want the free ingredients, I do not need stuff, that I load to help lower level players.

But with Farm Pass, I started doing them again, due to pass requiring uploading, or sending or sending someone else's. Often, tho' the color requirements do not work.

Hi Alyceclover,
Please read the Game Guide chapter 32 about the ships:
http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=626622

That chapter will tell you how to replace ports and to set up a "Reuse logbook"

Thanks, but that is old news. Issue is I can click "replace" port, but there is no neighbor to replace them with, thus stuck skipping 7 to 9 points for every ship.
The chapter does not show how to choose only the neighbors I want my ships to go to. I reorder my itinerary, Use Last itinerary, every time I load ships.

Hi Alyceclover,
Unfortunately you do not have enough neighbors to even fill out the 30 slots, so you have no choice except to use the ones you have that have their port open. That means all of those who have their port open. The only thing you can do is rearrange the ones you have into an order that works. Be sure you move one that you know will load the ships to the 30 slot so your ship isn't stuck waiting for the time to expire.

The only other suggestion I can make is for you to add more neighbors who do the ships. That can also increase your storage area too.

I think the time penalties for the cargo ships are unfair. I send off a cargo ship every day but if one day my internet goes down or there is a storm and electricity goes out by the time I get to send off another cargo ship the time between loading containers has doubled. It just isn't right!

I presume that this has already been requested several times, but here goes. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get all the game programmers together and have them decide on a 'standard' way to play portions of the game. Specifically: 1) Seaport Manager: My Seaport: When there are several ships in My Seaport, click to finish each one makes it disappear, and the next one comes up. 2) My Train Manager: Boost Others' Trains, unlike My Seaport, I have to move and click on each train, why not make this like My Seaport - when I click a train, it disappears. 3a) Facility Chains Manager: Import Products From: clicking on a Farmer imports their products and they disappear. 3b) Export Products To: sometimes dozens of farmers are listed with only a few able to export to, but they DON'T disappear when done. 3c) Import & Export function: Closing the current Import or Export windows doesn't turn the icon from Green to Blue. I have to remember which (of the almost 150 icons) I opened and ignore it for a 2nd click. 3d) Why not make the My Chains functions work like the Trade Products functions? (all Import / Export farmers are listed and I can run through the list quickly importing and exporting the products I wish to. 4) Show Cooperative Quests: If I start with the highest player and work coop quests to the left (lowest player) the window crashes every time I hit a player that just completed their last quest. This DOESN'T happen when I start with the lowest player and work to the right (highest player). There's other issues, but this is a starting place for now.

Hi James,
If you want to make a suggestion you need to put it in the Suggestions section where we organize them by subject for the developers to view and not in the General Feedback section.

Also when you do post them in the Suggestions section please do not group them all in one post, but instead post each suggestion in the thread for the subject.

Did the prepare cargo time just increase like a billion fold? I've got four ships out and last night my preparation time jumped from 5 minutes per container to 50 minutes per container.

Hi TsunamiVince,
According to your data you only have 1 ship on the list which is why it went up to 50 minutes. The others that show dispatched are not on that list for some reason. Try clearing your memcache (link below), then when the page of unsetting text opens close that as it is done.
If your farm is open close it. Then reopen and check the list again.

For clearing from Slashkey:

Hi TsunamiVince,
I am not sure what happened to your account but there have been some cases of the avatar names getting lost. The only thing you can do in that case is to re-enter it.

Is it possible to ask all players to turn off their ports/train stations if they don't play those? It would help the ones who do play them to pick people who'll send them through.
Thank you

Hi Poof,
I moved your post to the General Feedback thread about Cargo Ships as this is not a suggestion for the developers as they can not do what you are asking.. Just one note though there isn't an enable/disable for the trains in their preferences. Trains are handled different from the ships.

I think that you need to increase what ships hold including yeast, clams and kelcar fiber ( all the above are produced in non workable facilities and would help all farmers
