Fishing and Bait

My question is about all the fish and waters we have. I'm trying to "audit" the amount of fish I have and where they are coming from, however, the numbers aren't exactly working. For example - the Big Pond has 86 fish/3 types of fish - but 86/3=28.666666....

There are several of these. Is there any way you can tell me how to determine how many of each type of fish are coming out of each type of water - only the ones that have decimals behind them and don't divide equally???

Obviously you don't get equal amounts of each fish. They are weighted toward getting more of the ones used the most. No there isn't any way we can tell you how many of each you get because there are belts for the fish which makes the amount you get variable.

I moved your post to the thread about fishing and bait. First thing is when you hire a stranger you get more fish so more money when you sell them.

Another variable would be how much bait you have. Bait doubles the out put for each water that you have bait for.

The third variable would be the belt bonuses. They are not always the same as if you look at those they say "up to" a percentage meaning you do not always get the same amount from the bonus.

Hi sorry, I put it in the wrong area. I did not hire a stranger to fish my farms I fished my own thus the reason I am asking about the billions in difference from day to day. I do not have bait nor do I exchange the gifts for bait. All belts are at 7 for all the fish so why the variables in the coin amount? Thanks in advance

Hi Nettie,
The number of each fish is a variable in itself. You get the total number of fish for each water but the amounts of each fish type can vary due to the bonus belts. As it says with the belts you get "up to" the percentage extra fish, but you do not always get the full percentage.

As you do have the Fish Farming Plants you do get bait. You currently have 960,700,953 fresh water bait and 876,486,105 salt water bait.

Hi dave :)

I moved your post to the thread about Fishing and Bait.

You have lot of water items in your farms but your data only shows a few baits for each type.
If the waters didnt have enough baits when you hired, so they only got 1 fish instead of 2, then that is why you got less coins.

I apologies if the answer is here but i over looked it. I have a question about the fishing plant and gifting of the bait, a friend of mine pointed it out to me and I noticed that the bait from the plant does not go to the water but the gifting bait does. does the bait from both the plant and gifting go to help the fishing jobs just "logged or stored" different.

That is not true. Both go to the waters. The only ones that don't are the ones you get from other's bonuses that you help with and collect part of.

You can't do that.

Gifted bait, bait from your fish farming plant and any bonuses you get from posting your own bait bonus gets stored with waters.

The exception to this rule is any bait you send to a friend when you click on their bonus post, your share goes to storage, which you can use to stock the Fishing Tackle shop if you own one or just sell at market.

No, there isn't any way to do that.

When anyone is hired to fish your waters they will always use your baits, it has always been that way.

This is what you receive when someone goes fishing your waters:


Hiring a Neighbour or Super Neighbour- You will get large boxes per item instead of regular boxes. Large boxes sell for more coins at market.

Hiring a Stranger - You will get large boxes per item for hiring, PLUS an extra regular box per item for hiring a stranger. This option has the most benefits as you get more boxes. It does not matter when it comes to facilities which size box is used.

If you have bait you will receive double the fish caught.

Not sure where to post this but wondering why my gift bait are not going to the ponds but inside are in my storage. Whenever I have hit “store” before , they have gone to the ponds, lakes etc. My number of fish caught has been about 500 k less for a few days now.

I just stored bait from my gifts and they went to my waters not my storage.

No matter you see Store, if you received them as gifts then they should go to your waters when you store them.

It is true that you have some baits in your storage. The only way to get those is when you click in a bait bonus shared by farmers friends.

You can use them to load your Fishing Tackle shop, but after using them and IF you have the tool to Load All, then be sure you have baits unchecked.

If you have them checked and you click in Load All button, then if the ones in your storage are not enough, the rest will be taken from your waters to fill that service facility.

When I let a neighbour/super neighbour do this job, my harvest is about 22,000,000,000. The amount of bait does not seem to have any influence on the total harvest. Can someone help me with this? I can't figure it out with the existing manuals.

The difference is if you hire a stranger in the market you get an extra box of the fish. When you hire a neighbor then you don't get those extra.

Lately the amount of fish I am getting after I have someone catch them has gone down. Used to get 1.4 billion whenever I’d sell and now it’s 1.3 something. I have more ponds than I used to have and I think the amount of bait I usually have is pretty constant.

Hi Chris,
It can depend on several things. Whether you hire from the market for a stranger or a neighbor the amounts are different. Depends on how much bait you have when you hire them. Also the amounts of fish you get can vary as well depending on the belt/dan you have. Those are amounts up to, but does not mean you will always get exactly that percentage amount.
As far as the game nothing has been changed about the fish or the baits.

No I am sorry, but you can only use your bait on your own farms. If you are fishing for someone else then they need to have their own bait for you to use on their farms.

How many each fish you get depends is random. The amount you get will also depend on if you have bait for the waters and which belts you may have completed for each type of fish. How many you get of each type of fish is not a set amount for each kind.
