There will be some profile pictures missing for some farmers who created a new account and/or don't have a Facebook account to be able to get a picture uploaded to the website:


Some common display issues on FT can be fixed by:


Clearing your cache.
Right clicking your mouse on the farm screen and selecting "Show all".
By adjusting your browser settings to 100%.
or Pressing "CTRL" and "0" (zero) on your keyboard resets some browsers

NOTE: The Show Coins and XP animations is still disabled at this time so you will not be able to turn off the recently added animations when using the mobile sprinklers and manure spreaders.


To turn off the Sounds or Music in the game :

To turn all sounds off, click on both icons to turn them red.

Facebook switched my version to new from classic and the top half of farmtown screen is missing it takes me twice as long to move as much as I can to center it. I tried for 5 days attempting to remove face gaming tab on my computer for I suspect farmtown plays through there. I can't remove the video gaming tab nor switch back to classic on Facebook. Does anyone have any info on this?
Hi Kongo,
You won't be able to switch back to the classic version and I am surprised you have been able to use it this long. You do not have to go through the gaming tab at the top of the page either.

You should be able to get to Farm Town from the link in your shortcuts in the left column of your Facebook home page or from the Play FarmTown button at the top of the forums and get the correct page layout.

Not sure if this is the right place but having an issue with the Menu that pops up on fields etc. I can't click the arrow on any plot to move the farm without the little menu popping up. I've been trying to stick to bare ground but on most farms I don't have much bare ground. Is there any way to stop the little menues to stop popping up so quickly?

Hi Riap,
If you are holding the left mouse button and it is not locking on to move the farm around then this sounds like a mouse problem. If you are using a wireless mouse try changing the battery. If you are using a wired mouse try another mouse. This would be a switch problem for the left mouse button switch.

I moved your post to the thread about Display issues.

When this happens, can you see your neighbors pics in your My Neighbors tab and also in your Wall Requests if you want to work their facilitie?

If you dont see them in non of those places, then it maybe a problem transfering data from Facebook to the game.

You can try clearing your memcache, a new window will open with a short list of unsettings. Close that window and your farm if it is open in another tab. Then reopen your farms.

Are you using a saved bookmark? If so your browser has updated the bookmark to load that farm account. Please do not use a bookmark as those can change. Instead only use the shortcut in theleft column of your Facebook home page or the Play FarmTown button at the top of the forums.

After I had run memcached, the neighbors showed up again on azll farms. But now it is back again. Ran memcached, closed the tab and restarted Chrome/ farmtown, no results, neighbor box still not showing. Maybe it helps if I say that this usually occurs (IF it occurs) on my default farm - but not always. Say I am on ythe default farm without neighbors showing, go to another farm, neighbor showing, go back to the default, neighbors not showing.

It is not dependent on which browser I use.

I remember that years ago some users had a similar problem with a specific farm but it has been ages since the last one reported this.

You could try the following:


Check your browser is up to date and see if you have any pending update for Windows or Mac in case you use it.
Check to be sure that 3rd party cookies are still allowed in your browser. If you need instructions please visit the following link:

Change your default farm to any other and see if you continue having the same problem.
If you wish, you could try another browser and see if you get the same problem.


If nothing works for you, then please contact Support team to let them check on this. To contact them click on the link below, fill out the form and submit it. Be patient as it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days for them to respond to you depending on how many tickets they have ahead of yours.

I have been able to find out a bit more: this only happens when two farmers are on the same farm. Let's say my super neighbor is on farm 20. I go there, neighbors box doesn't show. The neighbor leaves and goes to farm 15. I reload farm 20, neighbors box show, then go to 15 where the neighbor is, no neighbor box. The experience is mutual.
I said earlier that it mainly happens on my default farm. I realize now that my neighbor and I are very often there together. I have now tested this in various ways, and oit is always the same: no neighbors visible in the box when we are both on the same farm.

Hi Danker :)

When you are on a farm and another farmer arrives to that farm or viceversa, the neighbors bar below the game screen disappears and you both see the chat box to let you both type messages and chat.

That is completely normal. It is the same when you go to Market or Inn. You do not see the neighbors, only the chat box. If you click in Hide button to the left, then the neighbors show up again in the bar.
Is that what you are describing?

Hi Auntie Al,

What browser are you using, have you tried other browsers?

We're aware that Opera and Opera GX have that problem and it happened after those browser had updates some time ago. Whether or not the devs can do anything about this we will have to wait and see as it's not an easy problem to resolve.
I've just checked the updated versions of Firefox, Chrome and Edge and those are still fine, so if you can use any of those, try using one of them if you really need to change the preferences settings often while in Full Screen.

Thanks, I do use Opera. I will suffer through because it is more of a pain to jump back and forth with a different browser. For what ever reason, Opera just works faster for me. But thanks for the info.

Hello all, I still have an issue with sorting crops when seeding. I reported this before but it could not be reproduced by the moderator at the time.

I select my seeder, choose the harvesting time in the funnel, want to sort by Dans/Belts and *poof* the crops are sorted alphabetically. This always happens when the game is open for a certain time.
If I want the crops to be sorted by Dans/Belts I have to close the game, reopen it and that is the only chance I have to see the crops sorted by Dans/Belts.
Is there something I can do about this please?

Please supply more information about your issue.

Are you using a saved book mark in your browser to load the game? If you are please try using the Facebook link for Farm Town in the left side of your Facebook News Feed or you can try the Play FarmTown button at the top of the forum to make sure you are in the current version of the game.

If it's not that:
Which harvest time did you use and which size seeder?
Did you get the seeder from your toolbox or is it one of your shortcuts in the game bar area where the store icon is?
Have you checked another size seeder to see if it's doing it with a different one?
Does it revert when you go to another farm and then click on the seeder again?
Could it be reverting after planting a set amount of farms rather then the amount of time? If it's the amount of time, roughly how long until the problem arises?

The more information you can provide helps try and find what might be causing the problem.

Following your advice I now started up farm town via the facebook link on my timeline and did some planting with my seeder x100. It all went good, I chose different harvest times and sorted per Dan/Belt and hurray the crops were displayed per dan/belt.
So far the issue seems to be resolved.

If ever I have the problem again the coming days I will post here again.
I will then answer all your questions.

I wanted to plant tomatoes this morning so I clicked on my seeder x100 shortcut. In the funnel I chose harvesting time = 2 days and then sorted per dan. I did this because I also wanted to check if eventually there were other 2day crops where I could reach a higher belt. All crops were mixed up. The sorting per dan/belt was not ok. After a close look the crops appeared alphabetically. I changed the sort to 'stored amount'. This sorting was ok. Sorted again per dan/belt and the crops appeared alphabetically again, not per dan/belt!:eek:
Maybe somebody might have a look into this? Or should I report this to slashkey?

FYI: I clear memcache on a daily base and clean up macromedia files once a week.

I'm sorry to hear this is back. Is this the first time you have tried to plant by Belt/Dans since you last saw the problem?

Which 2 day crops do you not have 7th dan for?

Could you please also check the following:

If you don't have 7th dan for all the 2 day crops, pick up the seeder, filter to 2 days, then change the A-Z filter to Alphabetically and see if it shows you the exact same order of crops as it did when you had the filter set to Belt/Dans.

If you do have 7th dan for all the 2 day crops see if you have a different timed crop that is not at 7th dan yet then see if that does the same thing as well, shows the same as Alphabetically.

I am going to send you to support as well as copy your post over to the relevant devs thread as I won't be able to check this fully as I have all crops at 7th dan and it does show the Belt/Dans sorted the same as Alphabetically once you have them all.

If I first do f.i. quests or check my trains or ships the trouble begins.
If after this I want to plant, the dan/belt sort does not work anymore.:confused:

Not all the 2day crops have 7th dan.
These are less than 7th dan:
fava beans - watercress and rye. All the others have 7th dan.

What happened to the fonts in this latest release? All the font is extremely bold and it, quite literally, hurts my eyes. I moved your post to the Help & Support thread about display issues.
This is not something Farm Town did. What browser is she using? It may be the browser or something she has changed that has caused this.

I know this is for suggestions, but I can't find where to ask the question. I can't get the sound turned off. No matter what I do. We even installed an extension in Chrome for sound control, turned off the sounds, then went back into FT and couldn't get the fullscreen to come up. Had to go back into Chrome and disable the extension. Then everything worked, except now I have the sound back. Clicking on the sound icon does not work. I have to keep the sound turned off on my computer. This has always been an issue for me. Please let me know what to do. Thanks.

Please do not click in the sound icon, you need to hover your mouse on the sound icon http://r1.slashkey.com/images/gameguide/preferences/Preference Bar - Sound Icon.jpg , another icon for music should drop down.
Then you can click in both of them to turn them red.

All you have to do is buy a different ground cover from the same place you bought the water cover. Each of the covers are only 100 coins. They are at the bottom of the Paths/Grounds section of the store.

We don't know why it would happen unless you mixed up what you were taking from your storage at the time. We would not have any data for your placing individual trees. At least you got it straightened out.

It looks like you have some inadvertent layering of the fields and I don't mean the staggered fields. There is only one way we know of to fix this and that is to delete all the fields on that farm, restart your farms and see if any of them return. If they do repeat the deleting and restarting until they no longer show up. Then you can replow and plant.
Even if you have not done anything to change it, when you layer as you have and with the staggered plowing you run the risk of problems. It may not show when you have done this but at any time the problems can show up.

Where are you trying to plant these trees or add the ponds. If you are trying to layer them then I am sorry, but we can not help you with that. We can not give any instructions for layering.

I just expanded farm #22 and I'm trying to move my trees using the yellow hand. Because of my eyesight deteriorating and my wanting the trees to be in blocks of six exactly aligned with the other trees, I move the trees from their existing position to close to their new position, then shift my view so I can move them into the exact place I want them.

I just tried what you are explaining in my own farm using the yellow hand but cant reproduce your issue.

Are you alone on the farm, or a superneighbor is with you?

Please clear memcache again, close everything and restart your computer.
If the problem continues, then contact Support team. To contact Support click on the link below, fill out the form and submit it. Be patient as it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days for them to respond to you depending on how many tickets they have ahead of yours.

There is an issue with a superneighbor with design privilages working on your farm if you are there too.

If a superneighbor is going to make changes on your farm, then you cant stay with them, just go back to that farm after they had completed the job.

Other than that, please follow the suggestions I gave you and see if those help you :)

I'm not seeing any problems with crops on my own farms and my preference to freeze the animals has not changed.

If you have not already done so check with your super neighbour to see if they could have done anything for you.

Please check your setting for freeze animals in your game preferences as it looks like it's off. If you don't want to set them to be frozen all the time you can also set the animal behavior to be different per farm. To do that, go to each farm you want to change the behaviour of the animals on and click in the farm name. At the bottom there is a drop down menu where you can choose to set the animals to always be frozen or never be frozen. If you change any settings in preferences or when clicking on the farm name please remember to click the green check mark to save the changes.

Hi VondaK,

Did you check with your super neighbour if they could have done anything? You will need to change those preferences yourself back to what you want to freeze those animals and delete those fields where you don't want them. It's very unlikely those are going to change unless you do.

I can see that you've run memcache today so there is no need to run it again. If you have not checked for browser updates and cleared the caches in your browser it's worth doing those as well to make sure everything you can do your end is cleared moving forwards.

Next time you do any work on that farm keep an eye out for it happening again. Once it's planted reload and check if any extra crops have shown up where they shouldn't be. If they do then please let us know exactly what you were doing just before it happened and then we will try to reproduce the issue.

Deleted all the mysterious plowed squares. Some were even under buildings, which I don't hide when I plant. FT burped while I was planting so I think it caused it. Since I deleted the plots, everything is back to normal.

All avatars have black letters for their names in the labels.

When you go to Marketplaces and post you dont get the same colours everytime. If you reload the game and go back to market, you will surely get another colours while posting.

We have never had any way to move crop plots. The only thing you can do is delete them and replow them.

What are you trying to do with those fields?


It could be they have too many layers on those farms. We will need the ID for them to be able to check it.

I have been to your farms and I do not see any problem with the crops.


Try clearing your browser cache, then close and reload your farms. It will be slow loading the first time as it does have to download all the graphics again. Instructions for clearing the browser cache are in the following link:

I'm having a small problem with the grid that lets us travel from farm to farm. When I use it, it doesn't always shrink back down to its resting size. What you are doing is the only way I know of to correct it. I am seeing this happen too, but only on my default farm. Refreshing that farm always clears it for me.

We are aware of this, it mostly happens if your cursor hovers the grid by mistake, just refresh the farm and it will be ok.

When I click on the "Show Farm Stats", and then select "All farms", the results are not showing the items on the correct farms. For example, as of this moment, the crop Black Pepper" shows as being ready on Farm 11, but it's really ready on Farm 29.

I visited your farms and black pepper is on your farm 29 but it is not ready to harvest, it shows 1 day to be ready.

Please run memcache, link below. A new window will open with a short list of unsettings. Close that window and your farm in all tabs you have it open. Then reopen your farm and check Show Farm Stats again.
Black pepper shoud show as being growing on your farm 29.

Hi, I'm trying to log onto t he game on Firefox and Opera, but in both of those browsers, my sound will not disable. I don't especially like the jingle, but other than that, there are times when I don't want the sound like when I'm in a chat group or listening to something else. Instructions on how to turn on and off the sounds in the game are in the first post of this thread. There are 2 sets of sounds that you will need to turn off to show red. If you are using multiple browsers for multiple farm sets then you will need to turn both off in each farm set.

You could try clearing your memcache (link below), then when the page of unsetting text opens close that as it is done.
If your farm is open close it. Then reopen and look again.

No its not that type of issue I have planted seeds or harvested but when I go to the farm stats they are still showing as needing to be done. When viewing through the stats these always updated as soon as you did the work. If however you view work to be done through "show names" then show work to be done, this would take some time to update and was always the case.

Taz is not available at this moment.

As he has stated, the farm stats do not update inmediately. You need to wait at least 10 minutes or 5 minutes in case you have the Mobile Lookout Tower.
Or you have to reload the game.

Please clear your memcache, link below. A new window will open with a short list of unsettings. Close that window and your farm in all tabs you have it open. Then reopen your farms.

Are you waiting 10 minutes before checking farm stats after harvesting crops?

If you are and have not already done the following please do so and see if they correct your issue with Farm Stats:

Check for both computer and browser updates and do any required. If the browser need updating remember to and close the browser and reopen it.

Check your date and time are still showing correct on your computer.

Then also clear your FT memcache. Try clearing your FT memcache. To do that Click Here (https://apps.facebook.com/farmtown/play/?do=clear_memcached). A window will open with a list of "unsetting", that is the memcache being cleared. Close that window and FT if you have it open in another window. Then reload the game and see if that helps correct the issue for you.

Karlene is correct with this....prior to Dec 1, my "show farm stats" was an immediate update, both on my super neighbor's farm as well as my own. Made it easy to know what has been done and what was still needing attention.

While having the game back is far better than the 8+ days off, this feature has not been working the same since it came back Sat. All one needs to do is click "play" at the top to refresh the farm, but its an extra step we didn't need to do before.

You may have a virus or malware that is placing that on the page or it could be something from Facebook has put onb the page if it is associated with the top Facebook status bar. But certainly should not be blocking any part of the game.

While the devs didn't "fix" the issue that came up since the game returned, they did add a new button within the show farm stats that allows us to click and refresh the stats manually, which is faster than restarting the app itself. Thanks Devs and Mods!

If not....
Is it only when you use your computer that it does this, do any friends for those accounts have the same problem when they just visit the smaller farms and try zooming?

Ideally you want someone on different computers/locations to try them and see if they get the same problem.

If you would like us to try them all then we will need farm links and which farms have the issue.

I just went through my neighbors with products available in their Trading Warehouse and I had no problems. I bought free products and sold regular products.

For decorations in the lower corner all we see are the picket fences and they do reappear when you turn decorations on. In the far right corner you have the brush fire and it is reappearing as well. It's red square is right in that corner.

Hi Rick :)

First thing you need to check is if your browser is up to date.
After that also check if you have any pending update for Windows or Mac in case you use it.

If any update is done, then it is always better to restart your computer.

What happens when you try to post to facebook? Are you getting the pop up to post?

If not then check if you have 3rd party cookies and pop ups still allowed in your browser.

I just sold products in the trade market with no problems. Are you trying to load the Buy Regular Products? Have you tried loading those before you go to the market? See if they will load on your farms.



Only thing I can suggest is to try clearing your memcache (link below), then when the page of unsetting text opens close that as it is done.

I am sorry, but I can't thgink of any reason it should freeze. I have tried this both from my farm and even in the nmarket and not freezing. Only thing I can think of is clear the memcache before you try to load it up.

The game doesn't have any way to flicker. That would have to be something with your graphics card or the browser as it would only do that if it is having to refresh the memory as you move around. It is not somethin g the game would be doing.

Make sure you don't have other things running in the background or additional tabs open that would take up memory for either of those.

Hello! I have been away from this game for a long time, (honestly forgot i played this!) I have started playing again, but I was set back to Level 1 although it shows items I could have only bought at a much higher level. I started working my way up and am now at Level 22 but when I upgrade my farm, you can see my plots are off the sides, which means my farm was much bigger at one time. Also when I upgrade my farm size all of my plots and items are already there. My husband clicked back into the game also, and he remained at the same level and money from when he played years ago, but mine was reset. Is there a way to access what I used to have and the level/money I should be at?

Was this on an expansion? If so there was a problem last night with the expansion area not keeping the items. The problem was fixed last night. The only thing you can do is contact Support.

What were you doing when you got these errors in the console?

Did they prevent you to continue working?

Are your broswer and your computer up to date?

If you try another updated browser, do you get the same error?

I'm sorry but there is nothing we can do about that. If you wish you can contact Facebook to let them know about your thoughts.

Go to your Facebook home page, then click in your picture in the upper right corner.
You will see the Help option there and then choose the option you want from the next menu.

Then I have no idea unless it is something set on your computer as I am not seeing anything in italics in the chat in the markets. Possibly your Default font setting in your browser.

Very strange...I left this PC and logged in later on a laptop. All was OK. When I came back to this PC, the Italics were gone and fonts back to normal. Must have been some anomaly on this PC or Browser. Thanks, Taz

Please try clearing memcache (link below), then when the page of unsetting text opens close that as it is done.
If your farm is open close it. Then reopen and try again.

Fields can't physically move so I am not exactly sure what you mean by that.

Could it be that when you click the left button on your mouse to work a section, then let go of that left button and try to click on a different section that it's actually the whole farm that moves?

Have you kept up to date with computer updates and browser updates? If not please make sure that you do them.

Please also try clearing your FT memcache. To do that Click Here (https://apps.facebook.com/farmtown/play/?do=clear_memcached). A window will open with a list of "unsetting", that is the memcache being cleared. Close that window and FT if you have it open in another window. Then reload and try again.

If those don't help, it's sounding like you might have a problem with your mouse.

If you have another mouse that you can try please see if you get the same problem. If your mouse uses batteries try replacing the batteries, if it's rechargeable please try recharging it.

That is something Facebook has changed, I use Chrome and I have a dark right lateral panel but my husband uses Edge and he has lateral bars both sides of the game.

What you are doing for the side bar is the only thing you can try to not see all those games and get the game sides in the screen. Other than that, you can use full screen.

The website is being tested and that is why you are getting that. Farmers should continue playing through Facebook but maybe some unofficial testers are trying the site.

Yesterday when I opened Farmtown, I had an added "Exit to Farmtown Gaming" to the right side of my farm. I had never had that before and hadn't made any changes to my computer or to Farmtown or Facebook. How do I get rid of this as it makes seeing my farms a little more dificult?

There is nothing you or developers can do about that as it is a facebook change.

I have had it for more than two months. To the right of "Exit to Facebook Gaming" you have a little box with a little arrow. Click on it and the games offered by facebook will not show up.

You will have to do the same everytime you reload the game or open it in a new tab.

Ignore them. They are for the developers and seem to randomly appear on your farms when they shouldn't. You can't do anything with those.

The only thing you can do is increase the zoom for your browser tab. The browser will remember what you have it set to so when you open your farm tab it will open to the same zoom level each time. I have mine set to 120%.

The memcache clears your data on the server and forces it to be reloaded, so you get a clean load.
You can use it in the new site as well as in Facebook.

You do not have to flip back over to Facebook to clear it. When you run the memcache it is clearing the Farm Town server for your account so it gets a fresh reload of your account there. It does not do anything in Facebook or the website connection.

Thanks Taz, not what I meant. I'm not going over to FB to do it, but my link I have is a FB app - so it takes me through them. It's easy to get spoiled in the new site, so having to see the horrid black FB screen is not fun ;-)
