Getting Started ( Level 1 )

Default I like it

When I first started playing, I got xp points, got the money when harvesting for others and dealt with the "Wait, I'm busy" balloon I'd get if I tried to go too fast.

Then FT upgraded and everyone was able to zoom through fields.

But the cost to many of us was we no longer got our xp points and could no longer level up.
Not to mention the people that randomly picked fields like a checkerboard to make it impossible for the more sane people that like a relaxed game to have any fun.

The last upgrade before this, I was finally able to once again begin to level up. As someone suggested, it was not us, it was something in farmtown. That was remedied in the Previous upgrade...for me anyhow. I once again began to enjoy the game so I would again harvest and plow for others, which I had stopped doing because it was futile in any attempt to level up.

The fallout to the speed was the "hogs" that would checkerboard a field you were working or blindly cut you off when you were working in some reasonable manner. If anyone is to blame for the newest upgrade, blame them.

I once again became frustrated when I would get hired on a farm and some individual would just cut me off when there is a whole field to do, and they took it upon themselves to be greedy.

This is a game folks...not a race. It's something to do at leasure, not something to do to aggrivate others because you want to get to the next level so fast.

Chill out, relax, have some fun...be social.....

I for one like the pace and not having that wacko checkerboarding a field. That has become all to common.

So for all you speed demons out there that like to get ahead at others expenses...HA!!!
I can now once again enjoy a GAME!.

i always tried to harvest and plow in a straight line but this having to wait for the avatar to keep up slow me down so much that I continually get booted off because my farm times out and disconnects after 10 minutes. Never had this problem before no matter how long I would stay and chat

To Whom It May Concern:

I have read and completely realize why this latest update occurred, however I feel the fix only created another problem that essentially put the game back to the way it was at first. SLOW!!! I can understand the worries if I were one who sat and counted or watched every coin or experience point I collected. However, I never noticed any big loses on any regular basis WHAT SO EVER! In fact, I never noticed even ONE loss of coins or XPs. However, once again, I did not set and watch for every coin to be added. I have over 9 million coins, and I am a level 50. In all of the work I've done to achieve this I experienced only ONE OCCURRENCE of plowers plowing over one another. So, in all honesty, which is the worser of evils?
Myself and five of my neighbors gathered on one farm, and we ALL agree that this new "fix" has caused the game to loose ALL of it's appeal. I realize the developers or moderator's have seen a 70% decrease in complaints of those losing coins/XP's. I would like to know the % increase of complaints this newest fix has created?
I appreciate your hard work, but Farm Town messed up royally with this "fix".

Sincerely,
Hummingbird

I also do not like this new upgrade at all!!! i've never had a problem loosing coins well now I'm not getting coins for harvesting at all! Also, It takes forever to harvest/plow now, it was faster and mroe fun before, you might as well just turned it back to how it was before, waiting for every single field!!! I have never not liked an upgrade before, but this one is BAD!!!!

I also am an expected complainer. I am level 53, my wife is higher and we agree that these new methods are a downgrade in the game. If the designers are trying to "cull the herd" and lose players, they are doing the right thing. I think my Farm Town addiction is weakening. Also, I never randomly click to harvest or plow, but play along with those that do without a problem. Bring back the previous way and figure out a different way to fix the problems like limiting the number of workers to a field.

Angry The fix that is not

This certainly is not a fix to any problem... Before my only major complaint would have been to loose the box on the plow feature and just use the cursor.. Losing a few xps... or coins always figured it was my computer or me.... didn't even realize it was some FT glitch.. This change today however to put it bluntly is ****. I wasn't the fastest nor was I the slowest... Now at least I'm on par with everyone else.... I'm nothing! Change it back and quickly.. or like others have posted you will lose this farmer too...

This update completely kills the wonderful social aspect of this game.

Normally, when harvesting for someone solo, you can click a few squares, get ahead, and chat a little with the farmer, then click some more, then chat a little more, etc.

Now you have to concentrate on your clicking, and it is hard to get the timing right so you don't miss squares.
I found it very stressful - not fun.
I won't be playing again as long as it is like this.

Thanks for the voice here!

I experienced this new harvesting/plowing procedure and I must say it is functioning VERY well for me. Gameplay now seems to have a level playing field for the people with slower connections and those people playing the game WITHOUT CHEAT PROGRAMS.

I would think that the majority of the complaints you will get is from the people with faster connections and/or cheat programs that allowed them to walk all over the people that didn't use the cheating programs and/or are only able to obtain a slower connection to the internet.
My response to that is......"Awwww, poor babies. NOW you actually have to play the game as it was meant to be played."

Thank you Raul and ALL the developers for your hard work and solutions to this particular problem. Awesome job!!!!

This is not the case at all. I have less RAM than recommended. I do have a broadband, but that did not make up for the slow RAM. People who hired me, waited, as did I to get the game loaded.

Sounds like you are in favor of the all too prevalent method in the world today? Set up everything to the accommodate the lowest common denominator. If ALL can't excel, no one should? Farm Town isn't even a Competition. It's for fun. Just call it Red Communist Farm Town?

Default new plowing/harvesting

please change this back... or at least find a way to speed it up... i know that on the plots themselves it has only greatly slowed down the harvest/plow work but on trees it is basically stopped... if they are spaced you have to wait between each and every tree. it took me so long to do half of a farm that i just stopped and left.
it has taken the fun out of working for others and having people work for you.
