The planting is going fine. The harvesting took me at least an hour or two more time to harvest than before.

If the planting is going fine why can't the harvesting also go fine. I don't understand at all

please have some patience. If you have been playing as long as you say you have, you have already been thru this many many times, why is it such a surprise that some things are not up to speed yet? Clean your caches and hang in there, everyone is having problems here and there, it will clear up in time, it always does.
