While we wait for them to fix it, please go to your prefernences, the wrench, and put a check mark to Show Crops, Show Trees and Show Flowers.

That way you will be able to use the scythe for harvesting them. To be clear, if you want to use the scythe to harvest trees and flowers you have to put a check mark to Show Crops too.
