Have you considered that expanding the farm even larger probably isn't within the parameters of Adobe Flash? As such that has NOTHING to do with the devs. They can't change that. Also have you tried working on a large farm with loads of stuff on it? Lags a lot doesn't it? How do you think that will be if the farm was even larger? Most people simply don't have enough RAM to process that and would render the game unplayable for many thousands of perfectly happy farmers. http://r1.slashkey.com/forum/images/misc/progress.gif

For me the issue if lagging is a thing if the past unless the user has a multitude of layers then I lag really bad. I run with 8 gig of DDR3 ram which in essence is 16 gig of ram and a 2.4 Core 2 Processer. and the Latest version of Adobe Flash. Though I understand the limitations with Adobe. Maybe Adobe and the developers can address that issue and maybe develop some why where everyone can be happy.

Hi There,
After this we are going to focus for a while on the issues with the lost coins/xp when working for others, which seems to be happening to some users...

Thanks

--Raul

So I assume that we are going to get credit for the lost coins & XP's??? I lose both every single time I work on someone else's farm....All that work for nothing! Hard to save up coins & XP's to advance in the game at this time.

Just bought Farm2 24x24 and plowed it. but what about Fuel and my Big Seeder. You have stated that everything is shared between farms. Will I eventually have access to Fuel and my Big Seeder if everything is shared between farms?

dont wanna be a wet blanket - but 3mil for a 2nd farm? I'd prefer land expansion to my 1st farm cos it'a bit cramped....i probably wont be purchasing the 2nd farm anytime soon and wait hopefully for land expansions instead

Just because you have a supper fast computer doesn't mean everyone has a computer that fast. For you to expect the game to be catered to a very small group of people that have a really fast computer is stupid and unfair to the rest of the people playing farm town. There is no way bigger farms would work it would be too much of a drain on people's computer AND the farm town servers.

Thank you so much all who are responsible for new releases. I am so excited that there is so much ahead to do on Farmtown. I personally love working to build up cash and experience points, and to do it for a purpose now that there are new levels and a second farm to work towards. Please do not be discouraged by negative posts - these people are either very impatient, very greedy, very lazy, want instant gratification or are too ignorant to read and understand explanations. Again - thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hello,

While it's really nice that you've added the new farm, it would really be nice if you fixed the glitches in the old releases first. I am totally tired of losing my xp points when I plow - sometimes I lose more than I had before I started plowing. Let's put a break on implementing any new stuff until you fix the rest.

Wow... just bought the 'back 40'... this one strictly utilitarian... crops and farm tool essentials only. Been dodging back and forth between farms and moving items between farms for an hour now. All planted and ready to rock! :D

Everything working as planned so far. No glitches here! Cost me a few real bucks.. but what the heck... gonna be a loooong winter. :D

EDIT: Ok.. noticed that my sig link gives the link data error again now that I've added the 2nd land parcel. Will work on this.

I purchased the 2nd farm, plowed and planted. During the process I received a message that "connection to server was timed out" several times. I finally finished planting, was "timed out" again. When I returned 34 plots were not planted. I lost the coins for those plots, as well as the XP. Also, I had a picnic table on that farm which has since disappeared.

Can someone help me with this? Many thanks.

------------
Never mind. The picnic table was back in storage, and I replanted the plots. Not worth getting upset over 34 plots. I'm going to take the high road and assume it was just one of those speed bumps that won't be a continuing problem. I'm a happy camper. Thanks much for the new additions :)

this is all fine and dandy, however, i'm at level 23 my farm cash is gone and i don't have the second farm.

this has been one of the better farming games, now i ain't so sure. perhaps someone can help me find my farm cash or my second farm. that cash is hard to make.

Thank you sooo much for all the hard work you guys have put in so that we can enjoy all the upgrades and new farms! It's made this little farmer happy lol.

Question....can you buy another farm if you have farms on both Facebook and Myspace? Or if you buy one on Myspace then you can't purchase it on Facebook?

Nov 29 2009, 07:04 AM
I love the new upgrades, Thanks Devs for all the hard work!!!! I sold off everything and am planting like mad to make more money to buy all the wonderful new stuff.

On a second note. I was reading through all the post and like usual, you can't make everyone happy, but be glad about all the ones that are happy!!

Hi There,

We just released a new version of FarmTown which includes support for buying a second farm in the Realtor Office.

This release will be completed in phases, right now only 50% of the users have it, we will be monitoring the load closely and will be releasing the new version for the rest of the users over the next couple of days.

The new farm, and all land upgrades for Farm 1 and Farm 2 are now available in both, coins and farm cash.

To switch between your farms, use the Farm Selector tool on the top left, near the coins.

To move items between your farms you can use the Item Storage until we release an easier way later on. You can now add trees to the Item Storage as well.

When you hire others, you now need to select the target farm where employees are going to work. If you want them to work on your other farm as well, you will have to hire them again.

Everything is shared between farms: neighbours, coins, cash, xp, trophies, etc.

Holiday items are comming early next week.

After this we are going to focus for a while on the issues with the lost coins/xp when working for others, which seems to be happening to some users...

[***UPDATE***] This release have already been deployed to 100% of the users

Thanks

--Raul

Hi Raul thanks for the additional farm great news just one question for you why has it cost me 3 million coins to get new farm when 14 x 14 is only one hundred thousand 16 x 16 is two thousand etc etc? I would appreciate your feedback is there a bug or is this correct it seems a lot for a 12 x 12?

WooHoo - what a fab development - can't wait to get to level 44 :-) I've already got over 3million coins so should have even more by the time I get there.

I like that fact that it's a second farm, not an extension to the old one, as I can have two different styles of farm - maybe have one as a money-maker and keep the other one more decorative - if we can move things between farms, that should be quite feasible, I think. It'll be a lot of fun trying new things out :-)

MANY THANKS developers :-)

Thank you Farm Town for the extra farm purchase, I upgraded three times. All things went smoothly. I see we can use all our other items from our first farm, but I take it we will have to purchase farm equiptment to be used on the second farm, right? Great job, I am a happy farmer. Will watch for new posts to see whats going on.

are you for real? I have been playing this game since it started and all I have to say to the likes of you is "good riddance" . Next time read.. the developers made it quite clear it was to be a second farm..

The big seeder transferred over beautifully and I now have both farms growing crops and earning money and points for me. Just AWESOME! Thank you so much for all the time and planning that I know went into this release. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

prior to this, farm town was no longer fun... having to delete 10,000 + stuff to make way for new stuff. Could have sold it, but the process involves far to many clicks to even bother, especially when mass liquidating!!

Would be nice in the future to be able to have both farms side by side. But I am happy with what you have done Thanks again for working to appease the masses!!

3mil coins for a second farm, level 44? If adding land to your original farm, in a linear format not centralized expansion, which would have let you just scroll side to side to see your whole farm, was beyond the capabilities of the site, then at least offer it at a reasonable price and player level, such as 300k and level 30. Either the second farm is way to expensive or the original upgrades were way too cheap! ;)

i did get the option to buy another farm, but i am not interested in this.
i have been checking farm town every few days to see if we get to expand our farms, and growing 3 day crops.
but if this is an attempt to keep customers that can no longer expand it will not work with me.
i guess now i can stop bothering to check on farm town.
i am, glad there are several other farm programs that i enjoy that will take the place of this one.

Just a bit to go..and I'm there! WOOT!

And for all you COMPLAINERS...MY GOODNESS....I've had second and third farms for quite awhile too, BUT the difference between this is that you can TOGGLE between them and USE your stuff on both farms. One for design, one for work....

And exactly HOW BIG do you think a land expansion CAN GET? I don't think ANY OTHER game is larger than 25x25 (Country Life, and it would take a gazillion neighbors and all day long to work it). Do you realize how far you would have to be zooming out JUST TO VIEW your masterpieces in their entirety? It would be like a Google aerial shot!

Happy with the second farm...Happy the Christmas decor is coming out soon...Will be "working hard" (ahem and heavy eye roll inferred) to till the virtual soil so I can buy the second farm once I reach level 44.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

glendag00
Nov 29 2009, 08:06 AM
They can't just keep making your original farm larger and larger. It will take forever for you to load. The second farm is upgradable and you can click the diamond and go back and forth between them. We wanted more land and this was the most feasible way to do this. When I first saw the upgrade I didn't like it either, so I slept on it. They gave us way more land this way. It's costly, but hey, we've been begging for it and they accommodated. How many other game apps would do this for it's players?

ImTheRealElly
Nov 29 2009, 08:06 AM
yeah it would be really big. i dont care. i would rather have it all in one place.
whatever.... people that like it can do it.
i will pass.

i am understand the you are working in a new version,, am is true every time when i work in another farm i loose points,,,but my mayor issue and that is the reason i am sending a coomment is because you increased level and added ltems to buy, and that is fine is perfect but since you incresed the first level, just a sample the big house to buy it was on level 34, after the increased level is was requested on level 36, i was crazy plying trying to get on level 36, and now i realized last night, it was moved again and is requested on level 42,,,,,, that is no nice,,, a feel unmotivated.....send me a comment please

Nov 29 2009, 08:31 AM
I agree - I want to upgrade my Farm #1 not any other farms

If that was possible then I'm sure the devs would have done it that way. As it is you can't blame the devs for the limitations of Adobe Flash, server handling or limited RAM capacity of a LOT of players. All of these would have been taken into consideration before they decided on bringing in the second farm instead. By just adding to an already large farm it would bring too many issues. People with older pcs would end up being unable to load the game AT ALL, Adobe Flash wouldn't be able to handle, I mean it just about handles the large farms with loads of animals and what not on it as it is. And the servers would have been put under enormous strain. Or does it not occur to you that the devs actually DO think about these things before releasing new updates?

What a hot mess of no one cares and nothing is getting fixed !! There is an upgrade and all the onging issues have yet to be resolved ? Your kidding right ??!!

Positively frustrating and absolutely ridiculous!

No updates on what is being done to fix this cluster of a disaster.

Every day more and more people post with new issues and errors and not a peep to acknowledge the fact that players can NO LONGER PLAY THE GAME much less add a second farm.

Here's a news flash, if we can't access the game we can't upgrade. add to that upset players leaving the game. NO PLAYERS = NO GAME ! If you can't fix the problems admit it and move on. Don't just let people hanging with no updates and no info. It's like calling customer service and talking to someone in India...they just keep reading the same script over and over and over again till you hang up in disgust and frustration.

By now all my crops are dead, my flowers have wilted and died, my animals have probably starved to death and crack addicts have broken into the mansion and are bathing in the pond !

Thanks a bunch for all the help !

First off....THANK YOU for the new land!! It is awesome!!
With that said....I went and bought 12x12, and then tried to buy 14x14, TWICE..it has taken my money, but has not given me the land. I know you'll have some issues and glitches, and I'll be patient for my fix.

Thanks again !! you rock!

I really like the idea of the second farm rather than adding to the existing farm. ALOT of farms I visit drrrrrrrag.

However, I'll stay with my one farm until the devs lower the price from 3,000,000 coins.
That's way too much for a 12x12.

well, I just read thru most of the posts in this thread, and as usual, the developers seemed to have dropped the ball once again before a new release. bugs & glitches seem to abound again, and they still haven't fixed the mess from the last couple. i.e. missing xp's and coins, not getting what you paid for, etc. 3mil for this tiny little second farm is a joke. I appreciate the improvments, but they gotta get on the ball. before you slam me for the above comments, read thru the threads. I ain't the only one complaining folks!!

I just got my first crops off my second farm...I SO love having a separate farm, I moved some trees over to make my first farm look less cluttered.

I think the Devs need to develop a support group for ppl that play too much, LoL

I bought the new farm and went back to check on expansions for it, and clicked on buy new farm again and lost 3 mil in coins....any chance of getting it back?

Also, anyone else having trouble hiring others to harvest on your farm? I can hire to plow, and have been hired to harvest on other farms, but I cannot hire ppl to harvest on my farm......

Ok I read quite a few of the pages before I gave up. I just can't believe there is so much whining about the newest addition of 2nd farms to the game.

If this had always been available then people would have been racing to get 3M coins to buy one like they raced to hit the old levels and earn 1M coins for a mansion. And they'd have been creating threads on here about: UPGRADE SUGGESTION - LET US BUY MORE FARMS!! With posts inside that read- I'm bored with FT. Why don't the Devs brighten up and add options to buy more farms. Then I could have 1 real farm with animals, 1 beach, 1 mountain resort, 1 etc etc etc.

As to the ones whining cause they have to start over - read please! It was clearly posted that the XP and Coin earnings from both farms would be added to your 1 account. And all of the store features available to you based on your level are available on both farms. And you can move stuff you have from one farm to another.

For those of you whining cause it costs 3M and you can add another farm for free with another email account...please read above as well as the original post on the upgrade. I'm not familiar with the ability for another email account to share coins, xp, level options, and items...so guess it isn't the same is it?

I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but geeeeeezzzz can people be appreciative and not whine so much?!?!

Point is...read, make informed decisions, enjoy the game, and QUIT whining please! If you don't like this FREE game...feel free to leave.

FT Devs - thanks for all the improvements!! The original game back in Sept was lots of fun and so the upgrades that have occurred since October have been amazing. Most of us appreciate all the hard work that you put into this. I love FT and I'm looking forward to the next installment of Christmas decorations - but even if that didn't happen, I'd enjoy playing :).

Thanks again!!!

OK, Thank You Dev's! I just purchased all of the available upgrades. I intend to use the second farm strictly for produce (for now) and the original farm will be for decorating, after I make up for the major coins I just spent on the second farm. Between the two farms I should get that coinage back pretty quickly, especially if I only plant those beautiful pineapples! Thanks for all the hard work you put into this!!

omg i just spent 3 mill dollars to buy what i thought was a land upgrade , i came back to my farm no change in size, to find out my 3 mill bought me land somewhere else , thats not what i wanted , how do i get my money back im not happy at all. it should have stated the upgrad wouldnt be added to my farm but another place i have to go to . please someone help me i want my money back , the land upgrade is a ripoff for 3 mill.

When I went to the realtor, it was pretty clear that what I could purchase was a "12 x 12" farm. I didn't say upgrade at all! Also, the announcement the game gave you said that you could buy a SECOND farm. Where is the confusion in that??

Why don't you all go out and develop your own game and leave FarmTown to those of us who want to have fun! Glad to hear that you will be working on the LOSS of XP's and coins! I came on the forum today to complain ONCE AGAIN! Been working today and still cannot KEEP what I have earned working! I bought the second farm this morning. I plowed part of it and planted seed. I left that farm, then decided to go back and finish plowing the rest of the field. I went back again to check on what I planted and what I plowed before was gone. Only five were left. I want to know if I am going to get my coins back for this? and, are we always going to lose Items and fields? I put out 3,000,000 coins for that farm, I don't need to lose money now. Please help.

Wow...new release one day old and already so many posts.

Wish I had known this was comming. I spent a million and a half making changes to my existing farm that now I cannot afford this new farm. But...I'm patient.;)

I agree with the folks that adding more land to the existing farm would be a nightmare. Zooming out, you wouldn't see much of it, loading would be terrible and who knows what else would go wrong.

I'm also glad to see the developers are going to make the xp point loss issue a priority. I started having problems back in Early September when I first posted to the forum and has been ongoing since.

I'm wondering now, with 2 farms, are you people having as much problem with keeping the xp points or are they getting worse?

Kinda glad I have to wait for more coins to buy the new farm. I'll be interested in reading what goes on in the forum. But it sounds like a great concept.

Al

Just a side note....$3,000,000 for a new farm isn't so bad really. How easy do you want this game to be? Gotta have some challenges to it.

Oh, boo freaking hoo. First, it's virtual money, unless you're using a bank card to buy game coins (that's your business, but also if you're spending your money, you need to pay attention to what you're buying), second, it's all RIGHT there, even how to switch back and forth between your first and second farms. Third, the announcement says "second farm", it doesn't say "increase the land on your farm" or anthing else that would lead most people to believe that they were increasing the size of their existing farms.
Mostly PAY ATTENTION to what you're doing, and what you're buying.
Some people are never happy.

Okay, I think it's wonderful being able to have a second farm, but the price? Unreasonable!. To get it cheaper you actually have to buy coins with your own money. Love Farm Town, but think this is quite unfair, lowever the price the the farm, and maybe lower the level some too, please. 1,175,000 a better price. Three million takes up most people's long and hard earned coins.

Seems a few of us are having this issue. It happened to me at the 20x20 upgrade. Took the 400,000 coins, but no upgrade happened. Had to do it again, so I'm out 400,000 coins. I hope that they resolve this and are able to reimburse the folks who lost cash/coins.

Otherwise, I'm happy with the updates.

PLEASE Just Fix the Xpts

Thanks

Yes indeed.
This issue ties directly into the topic of updates and upgrades.
I for one am very pleased regarding the updates and second farm option. The problem is I got to get up to 44. I don't mind working to get there but today I have plowed and plowed and plowed yet I am losing instead of gaining. Or if I gain it is maybe 1/4th what I should be getting. At this rate it will take me 6 months to get to 44.
I is very sad and may indeed cry. :(

sorry to rain on your parade folks, but 3mil in coins for a 12X12 "new" farm is a ripoff, IMO. I'd rather start another farm with another email acct. And, they need to get the problems of people losing coins and xp's fixed. I'd rather have the several levels I have lost getting ripped off xp's and coins than another dinky farm.

My thoughts exactly. 3 million coins for a 12X12 piece of land? Give me a break.
Why is the price set so high? Why isn't it set to purchase and expand at the same coin expenditure as the first farm was? That would have made more sense for sure.

I know the Devs are working really hard on making this a better game and doing a fantastic job for the most part... but they really dropped the ball on this one for sure.

Yes you can, but by adding another account to facebook just to add a second farm turns facebook into another myspace. Besides, this way you get the exp and coin from both farms on one account. All that time you waste bouncing back and forth between accounts to not be able to buy the Manor with the money from your other farm to use on the first one. Makes more since this way.
That's what I was wondering. This way you get to use your harvesting tools on both farms without having to buy them for the 2nd one and you'll have all your $$ for both farms.

A 2nd farm???? Why not just make the land BIGGER????? to have a 2nd farm...you just needed another email account...makes no sense to me.
I guess some of us didn't want to go that route and have to get another e-mail account and sign up on F.B. under another name. Too confusing.

The second farm is a cool idea. Sharing everything between the farm is neat also, as the second farm can be used for a kind of storage area for farm equipment and extra trees, etc. However, I have a question and a comment. Will our second farm be right next to the first? When we go full screen and move the farm around, will we be able to see the 2nd farm also, and see how it looks next to the first, to set it up in a way that complements the first? Will it sort of be an extension of the first, in other words, could I move my Mansion to the second farm and have it face the first, and run the stone path around it and onto the 2nd farm to tie them together? If not, why not just let us expand the first farm to add a section that is only on one side, that is 8x24? that way we have all the room to move things on one side?

Also, for a 12x12 additional farm, which is quite small, 3 million coins is outrageous!! Some of us that are level 42 and above have only about 2 or 3 million now. To get 3 million above and beyond what it takes to run the farm would take a long time, and we all need the additional room 2 months ago! You keep giving us additional items for the farm and they are great, but if we do not have the room for them, they are worthless. I do not know sometimes why these things are not thought thru a little better before they are put out to all that play this game and enjoy it. I guess that when I reach the top level, I will set up my farm, without crops, to make room for everything, and just work my farms on the other apps until the same thing happens with them. I am already playing another app that will replace all these farms eventually when I have run out of room and levels and it becomes boring or more work than it is worth.
I would pay even 1 million coins for an additional farm that connects to mine that I can use one for the overflow, or use it to farm and arrange the big one the way I want it to be.
I have always loved FarmTown, but it is getting impossible to have all the things and farm with such a small farm. Please make it be where we can stay with it. Thanks

sorry to rain on your parade folks, but 3mil in coins for a 12X12 "new" farm is a ripoff, IMO. I'd rather start another farm with another email acct. And, they need to get the problems of people losing coins and xp's fixed. I'd rather have the several levels I have lost getting ripped off xp's and coins than another dinky farm. Then you won't be able to share your harvesting tools, coins, and XP points.

Thanks

Yea! Thank you for the new farm. Have already made one upgrade on it..I love this game. Still enjoying my original farm too.

Since you have already bought the 2nd farm, I was wondering, is it connected to the first? I mean is it right next to it, and when you go full screen, can you move them around and see them both? If someone comes to the first, can they move the screen around and see the 2nd also?
Thanks for the info!

I have always loved FarmTown, but it is getting impossible to have all the things and farm with such a small farm. Please make it be where we can stay with it. ThanksI'm at level 45 and I have over 8 million in coins. Guess it depends on what you've been spending your coins on and how much you harvest for others. Now you can use your second farm as a farm to raise crops and you can play with your first farm to set it up the way you want it.

3 million for a 12X12 plot? Sorry, but that's not appealing. I want to expand my farm. :( I preferred Farmtown up until now. Just my .02 cents. Back to the other Farm game.

I am one who received the new land offer....but I fail to understand the attraction. It is not more land for your current farm. It is an offer to buy a second farm. I already have six farms...for free....and can add as many as I want. Why would I pay for a 'second' farm whether in coins or farmcash??

The difference between the "second farm" and another farm with another id is that the second farm you can buy is linked to your main farm. You will share experience points, neighbors, coins, cash. It's like having one big farm, but just on two lots, instead of having to log in and out of facebook accounts. I'm glad they did it. I love it.

Thank-you Raul for this newest upgrade. I can hardly wait to get it. Can not believe all the people on here b*tching that they wanted an upgrade and not a new farm. Why don't you all go out and develop your own game and leave FarmTown to those of us who want to have fun! If someone gave you a sack of gold coins, you would probably complain that the coins were too heavy to carry around.

I am one of "those" people that would rather have a larger farm than a second farm. I saw that it would cost over 5 million coins to get the second farm and upgrade it to the size of the first. Everyone does not have the time required to maintian 2 separate farms, but still would like to play the game and they enjoy it. I would like to arrange the things I have on ONE farm, large enough to accomodate it, or at least be able to have the second farm next to the first to be able to see them both and arrange them accordingly. I realize that many people have had several farms for some time now, and most of the them have let one or more of them go to pot now. If we must get a 2nd farm to get more land, than it should be more affordable than 3 million coins, that is too high. If it were even 1 million, I would do it just to put the overflow of trees and excess items on it so that the main farm would not be so crowded. But for YOU to decide that anyone not happy with a second farm to get more land should leave the game is rude and overbearing. I am so glad that you are happy with a 2nd farm, but the option to have a second farm or to upgrade the first to a larger farm would have been nice, and more acceptable to the greater number of people.
The nice thing about this country, is freedom of speech, and to voice dissatisfaction for something we find not to our liking. To take that away is to turn our country into a dictatorship, and we are already going down the slippery slope of Socialism way too fast as it is, let us not try to take away any more freedoms from the people. Thank you

the only option i have is to buy another farm which i am not going to do .. so my question is... you say 50% of us now have the option to exspand.. so when will the other half get this option..i would much rather have land expansion than a new farm .

You misread the announcement. 50% got the option to buy a second farm NOW. The rest get the option in a few days. There is no option to expand your existing farm. It is 3 million coins for a 2nd farm that is 12x12, and that is the only option. Sorry. got to read carefully to know what is going on.

I like the idea of another farm but would rather have the ability to enlarge the farm I already have and its not available until level 44?????

Also, with the new leveling system from several days ago I was like 2 levels away from 34 & acquiring a mansion. Now I'm 5 levels away and its like I got demoted. Whats with that????

I'm all for making things better but this is not making it better when you get demoted and cannot upgrade to larger farmland.

Don't try and do back to back upgrades. exit come back, visit a brothel errr tavern or two and then try it.

Too late for that - as the issue already occurred. And, believe me, I've refreshed, and even gone to have lunch and come back.

I had done 4 back to back upgrades with no issue... it was the 5th one that got me.

If the upgrade doesn't take "hold", they should rollback the coins/cash. Not take the coins and cash without the upgrade happening.

No, you do not see the two farms next to each other. There is a button to click that moves you between the farms. The same control panel works both farms which share the money, coin, xp points and fuel that you have. You can move everything except animals, including farm equipment, between the farms by moving them through Storage.

I'm at level 58 and, so far, have enjoyed playing FarmTown but I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed with the new land feature. Basically all we've been given is a "bigger barn". I had, at one time, another farm with a seperate email account but it was a hassle to maintain 2 separate farms so I let the other one go, and there's a good possiblity that would happen again if I chose to buy the second farm now. I would much rather be able to expand my existing farm the have a second separate farm. Also, the price for the second farn seems unreasonably high. I would be curious to know how the developers arrived at that amount, considering the last upgrade for the largest plot (24x24) was considerably less. Though I have ample funds to purchase the new upgrade I'm not sure I'll do it, it seems sort of useless. I appreciate the work and time the developers put in to this game and for the most part, the upgrades have been delightful but this one was disappointing. I realize that this is a beta game, a game in development. Baciscally we, the players, are testers. That being said, testers are as an important part of this game as the developers. Basically they need us as much as we need them. The grief that some posters get for their "negative" opinions is unbelievable. It's feedback, which I would assume is what the developers are looking for in order the better the game. And this is my feedback... :)

Switching back and forth is very easy. You load your main farm. At the top of the page are two diamonds, one for each farm. The diamond for the farm you are on is highlighted. To switch to the other farm all that is required is to click on the other diamond.

I am not sure how many people work on there own computers like I do. There is a site called Newegg.com. for 2 modules of ram 2, 1 gig 240 pin ddr2 ram is about $50. Windows XP will support 4 gigs of ram. Windows Vista will support 8 gig and Windows 7 will support 16 gig of ram. So if lagging is your issue Adobe Flash runs off of your systems ram. thus making the aquisition of more ram important to avoid any issues. and to direct reply to the afore mentioned remark about a superfast computer. I choose to have it. I choose to save money and build a computer that I wanted. I did not choose to buy a store bought system that lacks ram. I wanted a system that would handle my needs now and into the future. and having RAM does that and more.

I wonder what would happen to this game if the Developers catered to every single whim or complaint some of you people have made. How in the world can this group of people make every one of you happy. How can you possibly think that if you don't get your own way, maybe because you misread something, that you're going to the other farm is going to bother anyone. Go on, go to the other farm...I've been there and it's not nearly as much fun as this one, mainly because you can't work or hire other people. Do you think the Developers are saying, "oh no, LOOK, so and so is leaving...OH NOOOOOO!" Quit threatening and go on, go, don't let the screen door bang you in the a**.

I Like the fact that they are expensive, gives coins some real value and purpose now.The interchange with your existing farm will be interesting too!I think they have got it just right!

Totally agree. I guess some of these folks have already forgotten how hard they worked to get those first upgrades. Or how about the folks who reach level 34 and complained that there wasn't anything to work toward now. Or how about the fact that things were locked out for certain levels. Some things cost more than other things and you work if you want the more expensive items. Many people who reached level 34 continued working and banking $$ knowing that they would have to spend those coins when there was new levels and new stuff. I'd rather have a second farm, honestly, rather than have more land that can't be seen on my screen. You can't see your whole farm as it is unless you go to full screen. I'm pleased, and hope that there won't be too many glitches. I'm not buying my second farm yet. Gonna wait a day or two and see if there are a lot of problems.

Thanks devs for adding new incentive to play.

Will our neighbors carry over to the second farm??

Wanda, everything carries over! :) That's what is so neat. All your neighbors, your coins, your points, your farmcash. Unfortunately that isn't true if you open a second account. I like the idea of having a "working" farm with crops, etc. to pay for the other, "pretty" farm designed in themes and/or holiday. Or, if you're real industrious (which I'm not :o) you could have two working farms and rake in the coins and points from both of them. I love choices. :D

Two problems:

1) I bought the 2nd farm, then went back to the realtor to see about upgrading the size. All I saw was the same option (coins or cash) to buy the same 12 x 12 farm I'd just bought. So I clicked yes, not knowing how many additional plots I was allowed to have. But I still have just the same original farm and 2nd farm I had bought already -- and I'm out the $3M coins. :( (After a refresh I was able to go back and upgrade the 2nd farm size...but I'd kind of like my $3M coins back.)

2) I can't seem to hire anyone to harvest for me. I click on them and the menu opens with the options "hire to harvest at..." and "hire to harvest crops at..." but I can't select anything or complete the hiring. I was able to hire someone to plow, but didn't have any plowing available to see if it actually worked.

Please help! :) Thanks!

I just can't believe the whining and rudeness I found in this thread. I enjoy Farm Town for all of it's great features, the chat, and all the interaction that is missing from all the other games here on FB.

I bought the new farm within minutes of having it available and I think it is a great idea. Works great and keeps all the stuff you worked for on your farm.

To all the "cheaters" who think you just get another farm for free by doing a second account...you get what you deserve. Start from scratch and work your way back up. If that's what you want then do it.

To the complainers about the cost...what else were you going to spend it on? Yes I've worked hard for my coins too. (I'm now on my third mouse!). I gladly spent the 3 million for my second farm and have not a single regret. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

I think the developers deserve our praise and thanks for the job they have done. I don't like loosing points and coins either, but know that it is probably not easy to track down. I think they will fix it. I feel for them. I hate to think of all the hours going through thousands or millions of lines of code trying to figure out why tab A does not go into slot B. In the end it will probably be one spelling error in one line that has just been hiding from them!

They can't give everybody everything they want. There are limits. Be happy with what you get. This is, in my opinion, the very best online game ever. If you like it play it hard and often!. If you don't like it just keep your comments to yourself and don't play it.

Enough preaching...LOVE the new land. Love the new items. I am totally addicted. 110%(Sorry, that IS a math error.lol) Keep up the good work.:)

Love love this game. I'm such an addict and I'll admit it. I worked all along to be ready when more land came out and I'm glad I did. 4.5 million spent in 24 hours. Where else could I blow so much in such a short period of time? Love it. But soon I'll be to level 60 and then what? Oh no, I'm afraid I'll get bored again. Not to be a bummer, but can we have more levels? I love the levels. Love love the new land. Just exactly the way it is. I had been stock piling my gifts and thought I had plenty, but not I have something to work for again. Many thanks.

How DO you hire help there?? I couldn't get that to work...and I couldn't hire help for my original farm, either, once the 2nd farm was purchased.

Thanks

Can you also please make a option for you to sell the second farm back or to another person... Not what i thought it would be.

Thanks

Just bought my second farm and expanded it three times; went very smoothly. Now is trying to decide what to plant on it, lol. Thank you guys so much for the upgrade!

I had absolutely no problem either - now i have two full size, large as you can go, ft farms that look nothing like each other - thank you so much!

Is there a way to get to a neighbour's second farm so you can water their flowers? It seems as though the only way to get to second farms is to be hired to plow or harvest, you can't just go there.

I only see the diamonds at the top of the page on my own farm, not when I visit friends with two farms.

When they visit your first farm, they will see the two diamonds at the top which will "toggle" them (and you) between farms. I've done it on a friends farm and it works great!

well isnt that just **** wonderful , no where did it say attention when you upgrade it gives you another farm, i didnt want another farm i wanted more land for the farm i have . if my money isnt refunded guess what I QUIT.SO GO QUOTE THAT.

Some people are never satisfied. When i logged onto farmtown this evening, a message popped up on my screen in front of me, where i couldn't miss it, explaining that i could now buy a second farm and it would be linked to the first farm and everything inc coins points etc would be shared between the 2.
So i was clear when i made my purchase that it would be a second farm and not an expansion to the existing one.
Am i the only one who knew this and everyone else is being ripped off??

Thank you devs, i for one appreciate what you have done and pity you for all the moaning and ungratefulness of others.

oji2003
Nov 29 2009, 06:30 PM
level 44 and TONS of moolah.. :( some of us will never get there I am afraid.

Are there any plans for linking existing farms? I have more than one farm under different account names.. is there going to be a way to move items back and forth that way? That would be nice..

What a wonderful surprise!! Thank you all for the excellent job you're doing!

oji2003
Nov 29 2009, 06:33 PM
the explanation is succinct.. it says in no uncertain terms that it is a second farm.. not an expansion of the current one.. there shouldn't be any confusion if one reads the message word for word... assuming the wrong thing would be a user problem, not a farmtown problem.

are there any plans for expanding current ones?

Actually it's working now; it wasn't before. For some reason there seems to be a delay in just about everything - I couldn't upgrade for hours after buying the farm, and I couldn't see these diamonds earlier but they're there now.

At least I know how to get to people's second farms to water flowers now! Thanks!

Thank you so much!!!! I was at first excited, then disappointed that it was a second farm, but I think I can see the benefits of having a second. Like so many others have said, one to work, one to play! Sounds good to me.

You may have multiple free farms, but they aren't linked so it's not the same at all in my opinion.

Thanks devs!!!

Only thing we cant move is animals , i know maybe you hadnt thought about it .. and yea i moved all stuff to the second one except some trees cause it starts back at 0% even if they were almost ready i even sent a banana tree that was loaded but there was only one no biggy is why it dont matter with that one but sure stopped me from moving the rest.. I just found out that the new farm costs 3 million?!?!

Yep, and I am so glad I kept on farming after I hit 34! By the time we got the new levels and land, I was now at 48 and had plenty of coins to buy the 2nd farm and get it planted!

THANK YOU FARMTOWN TECHIES!!!

Why can't you refuel when u are on your 2nd farm? I could only refuel by placing my Seeder back on my original farm. Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

In addition to the second farm option, please all the option to expand the original farm like we had been doing until we reached the maximum size. would rather expand my original farm some more rather than having a second farm to keep up with.

Geez...they would complain if you hung them with a new rope!

YIPPEEEEEEEEE!!! A big THANK YOU to all the devs and all involved!!
I have a second farm with another email addy, and it is a total pain to
have to log in and out from each of them. I'm loving this new land attached!
I have to say, it's cracking me up to see all the people saying they thought
it would be added on to current farm. It can't get much plainer when you
see it at the Real Estate office.... 12 x 12...helloooooooooooooo!!!
I just regret losing my hard earned money and "things" over at my other farm,
but...hey, I'll get over it...lol!
I read complaints about the 3 million for the new farm...what happened to all
the peeps that were screaming they have all this money and nothing to spend
it on?!?!?!?!?!? And, instead of complaining FT is boring, how about getting to
work and earning more money and exp. points to pay for it...what a concept, huh?!?!?!?
That IS the point of the game....duh...earn to buy!
Can't wait to see the Christmas stuff
Thanks again for the new land and for your hard work! :)
P.S....we could always use more seeds when you can get around to it...lol...
not complaining...just asking! :)

I kept farming also, after I hit level 34 and when you

Thanks!

LOVE the ability to add a new farm - found it very easy to store equipment (plower, seeder, etc) from my first farm and use it on the second!

My problem is I bought a big farmhouse for my second farm and can't see it. Looks like it's there as I tried to add another big farmhouse and the whole area where I placed it was "red" (like something was there). Any suggestions???

Always keep in mind, this stuff is free! My thanks to the developers who've done the work to make Farm Town more fun! I was at Level 34 with $5 million and nothing to do - now I have someplace to grow! Thanks much all!

As I can no longer plow, I can no longer farm. When I go to plow, it clears the plot down do the grass. When I go out and come back in, it is back to fallow unharvester land. PLEASE FIX!!

This could be the problem. Click on the toolbox and be sure to check "remove space between fields". It's worth a try!

Got my new farm and everything went smoothly. Will plant on new farm and play with old one. Did hope for more storage on new farm; already have 20 neighbors so am confused that I need more for more storage. Is it possible that we will get more storage on new farm? Thanks for new stuff. Am looking forward to Christmas decorations.
