Just a heads up to watch out for. Went I went to my farm but none of my trees said they were fertilized but the crops were. I harvested 1 tree and thats all I got was 1 tree. My fertilizer has been working great with the trees. 2 of my farms were only half showing so I went out of ft and back to fb then came back in and it was the same so I shut down the internet and rebooted and everything was back to the way it should be on ft including the trees. I don't know why this happened as I hadn't been on the computer for very long. But I did learn to look at my trees before I start harvesting them to see if the F is there. Just a heads up for everybody. have a great day!
This most likely happened because your orange manure spreader had disappeared from storage. I had the same thing happen to me.

Love this game and love all the new additions. The facility manager is fantastic!
Looking forward to the next update and farm 8. It's like having Christmas at least twice a month every month.
I wish that we could have some kind of trade in value for items we have purchased with fc when an upgraded one comes out like the manure spreaders and harvesters. Kind of like trading in a car. Don't mind spending fc but it would be nice to get some kind of break when an upgrade comes out for something we have already purchased.

You can't trade in the red spreader. It is needed to upgrade to the orange one. The orange spreader then replaces the red spreader on your farm or in your storage.

The new facilities manager is a nice way to collect your products. I wish that when I had it open and then switched to another farm, it would automatically load the facilities from the farm I switched to. Instead, I need to close and reopen it.

Not entirely true, servocrow. If it was FREE as you say, then why do you need to BUY FC? It may be FREE to play, but if you want to really get into the game, you have to purchase FC. That is not FREE.

Love the Facility Manager ... only problem I'm OCD so I'm freaking out because I can't seem to get ALL of the facilities at 100% at the same time. LOL Talk about a bad case of anxiety.

Do hope you come out with Farm 8 by New Year's Eve. I don't plan on going out and just want to party on FT instead. What a way to bring in the new year - by having MORE property!!! :)

Yes, it is free and one can have lots of enjoyment without getting all the tools and facilities. I have bought a few of the FC ones that fit into my farm themes, but am glad that we all have options.

Yesterday I said I was in love with the facility manager.....and I still am! BUT, I hadn't used the gift-giver yet. Wonderful!! Being able send gifts to the people that send to me helps make sure I don't miss returning any favors. Now, if you can just convince Facebook to do away with the screen to send to email addresses after each sent gift! :)

Hmm, the return gift option should still appear after you have exchanged, it does on mine.
Once you have exchanged the gift, wait for the page to load fully before accepting another gift and make sure your not double clicking the exchange button by mistake.
The "To send a gift back to your friend, click here!" option appears just under the picture of the gift you accepted and before the option to accept another gift.

Is it just me? I can't see the point of the facilities manager. It saves me one click per facility but in return I have to visit the facilities in the order on the screen or spend ages scrolling through to find the one I want. (My computer is slow to scroll.)

Is there another point to it? Does it work differently on other machines? I'm on an Apple Mac.

My cousin says she finds it faster but I certainly don't.


I agree with you, I commented earlier that I have my facilities arranged in a dependency order. i.e. I work the Oast and Malt House before I work the Brewery. Haven't found a way to arrange the Facility Manager to give me that. And mine doesn't have anything to do with a slow computer.

LOVE the hills :) Have been playing with them on one of my farms and VERY PLEASED with the result. Daughter in law made me add goats ... 'High on a hill stood a lonely goat herd ...'

I would like to be able to plant trees on the hills though. I bought 1 and tested it for that and could not so I sold it cause it became wasted space. :)

Apparently only the brown (cheaper) stable accepts the camels.

I bought the other (more$$) and could not move them. So on one of the farms I have the two stables next to each other.

The camels will load into the cheaper one. And, similar to having multiple oil rigs on a farm (for decoration), you can click on either stable to see the camel-count, which is limited to 100,............. I think... I have 93 so far and lots more to load.

Hi there :) We don't know when the new upgrades occur, only the developers do and they normally don't put out a specific date...kind of like to surprise us all :)

You only need to post once from the "produce faster" button and they can work all facilities. My friends and I like to put which farms there is work on :)

lf you have more than two farms .......definitely put what farms to go to on your help post. l won't go to farms when l have to check each one to find out if there's work or not. The help link will just bring the helper to the first farm.
Of course if you have 4 farms but all facilities are on one, you can say that too so people know not to go looking for more work.

Yep and i said that. What i also said in earlier post, is that if the tools/facilities were not so expensive to buy, pay $45 AUD of FC could stretch a lot further. If i purchased $45 worth of FC, i could get 5 things. If i am making any sense. 90FC for a manure spreader is huge. I have the first one, but to upgrade another 40FC for it to do trees is a lot.

And i have spent real money buying FC on more than one occasion. I just can no longer afford too.

I think it would be cool if there was something like the facility manager that we could pull up on any farm, telling us which farms are fertilized. The chop down trees aren't as obvious that they aren't fertilized and I failed to fertilize them. I have plenty of fertilizer, but it would be really neat to be able to just click and get a list of which farms are and which ones aren't fertilized.

Oh before the horses, we need the change the view of some of the older facilities, i.e., the ice cream, the confectioners, and please, please a smaller sugar mill....I am sure we can gain some space with the change on those 3. And lets not forget the chocolate factory it looks like the Hollywood fronts and no back, and still too cartoonish.

Are you entering facebook through Safari? You should have no problem with Safari, if you do try upgrading the Flash, cleaning your cache and cookies. I am on an IMAC and have no problem at all...also research your memory, you may need to give more memory to the game. Just a suggestion. I used to have problems with speed also but now enough memory that I go as fast as I can.

Hi There,

We just released a new version of the game with the following features and bug fixes.

1. New Animals and Hills (Coins): 5 new animals on the gift page and 4 more animals in the store. Also, 3 different set of Hills now available on the Paths/Ground category: plain grass, tall grass and semi-dry grass. There are also a coupple of Sand Hills at the end.

2. Easy to Return Gifts: When you accept a gift, the confirmation page now have a new section to 'Send a gift back to your friend' to easily return the favor. Notice this section will only be visible if you haven't sent a gift to that friend recently.

3. Fertilizer for Trees (FC): If you already own the *Red* Manure Spreader and you buy the *Orange* Manure Spreader, then every time you fertilize a farm using ANY of them, both, crops and trees will be fertilized. Fertilized trees will produce 2 boxes when harvested and 2 log piles when chopped.

Notice you only need to fertilize a farm once, with any of the Spreaders, it doesn't matter which. You can also use the Manure Spreader in the Extended Tool box.

If you don't like the highliht effect on crops or trees you can disable it in the Preference window.

[UPDATE:] There is no additional consumption of manure, it remains the same as before.

4. Harvest storage increased by 50%.

5. Facility optimization (launched a couple of weeks ago): There should be far less network requests when using your facilities, so working on them should be faster, with less timeouts when you move from one facility to the next or when you start farming after closing a facility.

6. Facility Manager: This is a new tool located on the Extended Toolbox to make it easier to navigate and manage your facilities. For now, you can see all your facilities in the current farm, with summarized information and with the hability to open them and sort them in several ways. In the future we will be adding more functionality to this Manager to make it easier and faster for you to work with them and help friends.

7. Producing Yarn and Rope in the Textile and Spinning Mill: The 'Textile Mill' has been upgraded to 'Textile and Spinning Mill' and will also produce Linen Yarn and Rope from the new Flax crop, and Wool Yarn from Sheep Wool.

8. Knitting and Knotting Mill (FC): Allows you to produce Knitting Clothes and Knotted Products out of the Yarn and Ropes you produce on the Textile and Spinning Mill:

Once you reach your limit of 15 days, etc. just go to the pending tab and it will tell you exactly how many items are pending (the number for 15 days)

I finally treated myself to 20 real dollars worth FT Cash (my quarterly or every 4 month allotment that I allow myself), and one item I got is the orange manure spreader. When I use it, it fertilizes all crops and harvestable trees on a farm, but only part of the pines. I though that perhaps the already mature pines weren't being fertilized, which makes sense, but that does not appear to be the case. Some which I just planted also are not fertilized and some of the long standing ones are fertilized. I had plenty of manure because I was able to also fertilize another farm.
Can anyone explain why some pines would be fertilized and not others (despite my having more than enough manure)?

I finally treated myself to 20 real dollars worth FT Cash (my quarterly or every 4 month allotment that I allow myself), and one item I got is the orange manure spreader. When I use it, it fertilizes all crops and harvestable trees on a farm, but only part of the pines. I though that perhaps the already mature pines weren't being fertilized, which makes sense, but that does not appear to be the case. Some which I just planted also are not fertilized and some of the long standing ones are fertilized. I had plenty of manure because I was able to also fertilize another farm.

Hi Tony -- That is probably the answer. Since I plant my trees randomly, not in rows of plots, it's a bit hard to tell which are new growth and old growth, so it's quite possibly the old growth trees which weren't fertilized.

wondering if anyone else is having problems with the "time out" "Disconnect" .. it is unreal the last two days... i can't do anything hardly.... not work for neighbors or seed my farms.... i can't hire people or it disconnects me..... just the last two days really has been a problem other wise the game has been doing great for me lately.....

Yes, I have a number of neighbors complaining about this. I haven't had trouble with time outs or disconnects, but with actually getting the game to load. Another problem that MANY MANY MANY MANY people are complaining about is the marketplace. Can't see names, can't see people who are in there. Tried several times doing the go offline and then back online mode thing, but that doesn't work. I am not the only person having this trouble, it's actually quite the topic in the marketplace. Devs need to get on this and fix it. Very difficult to get hired when people can't see or hear u!!

I have put a little real money into playing FT and I do not think that those who don't put money into it are taking advantage of those who do. Those of us who spend some real dollars on FT, whether it's a few or whether it's more, do so because we can afford to and choose to. Players who play for free aren't taking anything away from us. We aren't "supporting" anyone, just choosing, from time to time, to splurge a bit for our own entertainment. A significant portion of game company income is from advertisers, so they aren't entirely dependent on players' purchasing things. I'm sorry some look at it as though those who choose to buy game items are supporting others who can't afford or choose not to.

I don't think anyone suggested the new farm would come then. At the last release, it was stated that the NEXT release (whenever that could be) would include an 8th farm and more levels.

Sitting here, I was thinking that it is less than 12 hours till we get farm #8 (maybe). And while I have a name for one of them..... I am not sure just what design I might try to give it. Perhaps I will just use it for crops for a few days and bolster my inventories.

In the meantime, I am trying to fill the chicken coops with ducks (they are full, full, full of animals), and the stables with camels. There will be a use for them for sure, even if I only sell their product and not buy a facility that might use what comes from those animals.

You rock, devs. Today, farm #8. This time next year, farm #15, level 350, and I will be working on $10Billion or more.

Amazing how we always "need more crops" to satisfy facility requirements....lol

- Farm #8 released.... $1.2 Billion
- New levels released.... Max is now 185
- New facilities released.... some coin, come cash (ouch, but some will have to have them all)

:cool: After 6 very pretty farms (do come visit), I have vowed #8 will be wall-to-wall crops, named as above. I think I have about 4500 fields with all 7 farms at full size, so I have to give up on decorating and just grow crops. Today is not the day, so now we wait until January 14.

I totally agree with the minority of other posters. This is a totally awesome game, and one the developers have worked hard to keep fun, interesting, and -- for the most part -- glitch free. I'm more than willing to wait until the end of January or beyond for #8 because I know it will be done right. To those of you who are convinced you just can't wait, consider this: The longer we have the wait, the more time you will have to build up the balance in your bank account, and the sooner you will be able to buy the full farm.

I am soooo looking forward to the next release. I am BORED! My biggest problem is still the lack of CHEESE! I have a dairy on EVERY farm and it's not enough cheese for even a third of my facilities (I like to have them at 100%). I LOVE this game - the only one I play and the reason I am on facebook at all. I just wish the developers would understand that they cannot keep adding facilities that utilize a certain product, but not increase production capacity for said product. PLEEEEEASE give me more CHEEEESE!

Yup. I rarely make much pizza, the building is just there mostly for looks. It's a cheese, flour and tomato hog. The relative profit from pizzas is less than for other goods, IMO not worth the work to grow all the ingredients.

Now then, my problem is sugar. The facility just can't produce it fast enough. I'm planning to add a 2nd sugar plant when I get my 8th farm, but I'm sure even that won't be enough. The only way to only way to get to produce even a barely adequate amount is to load it up to the max and hope you get some helping neighbors.

Agree about the Pizza Shop. I just keep a few batches going for FT Neighbors to work the facility, Mostly mine is also decoration along my river park on farm #2. A park needs a spot for folks to stop in for a bite to eat. My little brown house next to the Pizza Shop represents a coffee/tea shop since the coffee & tea facility is a bit pricey. That facility building would have been a lovely one for a restaurant serving a variety of meals and foods, I've thought.

i added a dairy barn, wool shed, chicken coop and dairy processing plant to each farm. it takes a bit to get enough animals but I exchanged all my gifts for cows, chickens, etc and you will have a surplus of cheese. I sometimes sell half at a time at the market and I never run out now.:)

There maybe updates every few weeks however, new farm releases are about 1.5-2 months apart.

Looking through the dates you've listed, after farm 3 was released, the biggest interval is July 16 - September 17, 2 months and a day. All the rest are less (by 5-12 days) than two months, so I'd say that at that rate, we could reasonably expect farm 8 any day now.

Yes, there have been Saturday updates. As for late afternoon, I have been anticipating the release and waiting to plant just in case so I looked at some of the older releases and they are all time stamped. Many of them were around 7:00 pm but there were also others around 5ish and even a few at 12 or 1 am. I am central time so not sure what time zone those times are for. So basically, it is whenever they want lol

Yes, in my earlier post, when I posted the dates when the farms were released. I stated that farms 2 and 3 were released on a Saturday. All other updates after farm 3's release was on a weekday (mostly Friday's).

Bigger and more expensive houses? Gosh, lots of mansions now available in FT, even a "cottage" which looks more like a mansion than a cottage. I'm homing eventually for more modest houses, some tract style homes and maybe double wide manufactured (sometimes still called mobile though they're not) homes for our little towns.

Yes, in my earlier post, when I posted the dates when the farms were released. I stated that farms 2 and 3 were released on a Saturday. All other updates after farm 3's release was on a weekday (mostly Friday's).

you must get bored easily because updates come pretty often compared to when the game first came out. the developers also do a great job giving us a great update each time (bravo devs) i dont mind if it takes alittle longer get an update for levels and land im pretty sure the coding for both is allot harder/more work then then adding a tractor to the game so keep that in mind. things dont just magicily appear over night in the game

Happy Weekend! I always look forward to a new release, but I've learned to be patient, cuz of course being impatient does not make them happen any faster, and fretting can cause wrinkles. I love the facility manager, and I don't know about others, but I would be willing to pay (yes PAY REAL MONEY) for an overall farm facility manager that would list all facilities on all farms in one panel and would have the ability to store all finished items with one click. It would also be cool if we could put the facilities in the order in which we would like them to be restocked, and stock them more quickly. Can I code such a thing? Uh, no - that's why we have the all-powerful developers! I know you can do it!~ Thanks for keeping FarmTown fun and interesting.

I think I know what happened, the blue object is something that is placed on your farm and it was showing on the extended tool bar. One day I had the extended tool bar open and in the same place was a water tank. However, when I closed it and went to a different farm, it was gone. I went back to the farm I was on when I noticed the water tank and it was there. I closed the extended tool bar and noticed the water tank placed on my farm. The water tank was just showing through in the extended tool bar.

I am really lagging when I work on someone else's farm. When I do everything my self, harvest, plow etc. it goes fast. But when I hire my other farm it really is slow. The xp's and coins going up in the air seem to slow it down. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it was mention to the devs. Other then that everything is just peachy. Facebook also has the option of working the neighbor's facilities, which myspace doesn't. I wish we could transfer our farms over there.

The limit is actually 80. Some were able to get more before the limit was fixed just as some have more than 100 of an animal in their sheds, but that was fixed too. Be glad you have 108 an enjoy them.

2 chicken coops on the same farm will act as one coop, selecting either coop will show you the same set of animals. Having a second coop on the same farm is purely decoration.

Nope. I remember, too. In fact, I really thought the game was static for a long time - that what you saw was what you got, period. I loved the game when I thought that's all there was. The way it is now is heaven.

But yeah, I'm ready for farm 8, too. My hope is that they give us some desert/Southwestern stuff. We already have the bison, a tee-pee, covered-wagon - we need an overall ground cover of sandy-colored dirt, some different types of cactus, etc. We're probably going to have a snow day here tomorrow so today would be an awesome time for a release!

I don't think we will get farm 8 until Friday Jan 14th. All of the farms except for farms 2 and 3 were released on a Friday.

Whenever it comes, I think there will be a lot of happy farmers. Until then, we just have to be patient. :)

You should wait, Farm 8 is coming soon. It's going to be costly too, I'm guessing a total of 1.226 billion for all expansions. Here are my estimates for the cost of farm 8 and expansions:
12x12 Farm 8: 8,000,000
14x14 Upgrade: 5,000,000
16x16 Upgrade: 6,000,000
18x18 Upgrade: 7,000,000
20x20 Upgrade: 300,000,000
22x22 Upgrade: 400,000,000

Here are some things to do between now and the release later this week;

1] Run down all your facilities to zero if you can. This will allow you to move things around when the time comes, with no loss of product. Also, go to the market and sell off gifts, items, inventory that you really don't need, or visit the buy/sell market and offer what you can to others. There is no limit on what you can sell, only what you can buy (hint, devs can you up the 1000max to maybe 2500?)

2] Grow short term crops only. Stock up on the stuff you know you use that only require 4, 8 or 12 hour growth. After 2-3 days, plant the 1 and 2 day crops.

3] Exchange your incoming gifts for new things like the camels, ducks etc. You know you will be needing them at some point. But if you purchase more stables or chicken coops, place them on farms where you think they will stay (saves time later from moving them). Remember that the camels can only be stored in the brown (cheaper) stable, unless the devs change that.

4] If you are inclined to earn FTCash through apps etc, hit it full force this week. Or.... get a gift card from a bank or store, and be ready to spend a few bucks.

5] Start a MSWord.doc that you can keep on your screen and make notes on what you want to do. Example: I am accumulating some of the bigger pines etc and Bucks/deer to have a corner forest on one of my farms. I also plan on another Dairy Plant (hope there is a new and smaller option view), and perhaps a third Coffee and Tea Shop, and of course another Oil Rig. (when I refuel without periodic sell-offs, I get over 1 million gallons at a time even with 4 semi-s etc)

6] If you have a harvested area, wipe it clean, and experiment with the hills, the buffalo etc.

7] When you think you have all the ideas you need/want, visit the social thread, and go to the last page of the thread where farmers "brag" about their elaborate farms. Visit them, backwards (I found many of the better ones are more recent postings), and let your design and creative juices flow.

8] this suggestion is invisible.... just like the anticipated #8 farm:cool:

What's my best guess for farm 8's arrival? Normally I would have said this Friday. However, the devs are entitled to time off over Christmas and New Year, like the rest of us, so unfortunately that may mean Friday of next week. If it comes any earlier than that then I think they will deserve a huge thank you for fast work or for giving up holiday time.

Of course, judging by the last few updates that came out when my sister was away on holiday, we may have to wait until mid-February. I've tried to persuade her to go away this weekend, in order to ensure the arrival of the update, but haven't managed it.

I really believe it will be in the neighborhood of $1.25 Billion Coins. With so many income producing facilities, and 7 farms yielding 2x output, the value of the #8 would have to be very high to justify what it will return to the farmer.

Even if the 12x12 is $10 mill or so, that is not to much to require from anyone who already has 7 farms.

If a farmer has so most of the facilities, and all the farms, and "only" $100mill coins or so, then that farmer is not managing well. And it will be that farmer who will be first in line to object to the way the game is being run for not letting him afford everything.:confused:

The game always seems to be low and a little problematic when the wonderful devs are working on new stuff for us. It is very frustrating when it keeps timing out server connection but there is a little trick that sometimes helps when working on other peoples' farms. When the new levels and faciities etc arrive it's always worth the glitches. Looking forward to seeing more levels and the quirky names the devs give them lol :)

Well just slapped down $20.00 cash on some new tools.. love the recent updates, I just reached level 160 and think I'm right on schedule for next update with new levels and new farm... Hope it comes soon.. I wouldn't want to get ahead or anything.. lol

Does anyone know if fertilized trees pay workers double coin and harvest? Cant seem to find that answer in help section.. thanks...

You have no right to judge how people play the game. The only people that have billions and billions of coins are the people that layer their farms and use the gift links to get stuff so they can keep their facilities loaded everyday, that is the only way a person can load all the facilities everyday. People that play the game and only load the facilities once or twice a week because that is all the time they have don't have 10 billion coins sitting around.

I don't even have the last size of farm 7 but I have never complained about how much the farm cost. While I understand the cost of the land being so much there are people out there that do not have all the facilities because they don't have the fc to buy them so the developers do need to think about that when setting the price of the farms.

What's my best guess for farm 8's arrival? Normally I would have said this Friday. However, the devs are entitled to time off over Christmas and New Year, like the rest of us, so unfortunately that may mean Friday of next week. If it comes any earlier than that then I think they will deserve a huge thank you for fast work or for giving up holiday time.

Of course, judging by the last few updates that came out when my sister was away on holiday, we may have to wait until mid-February. I've tried to persuade her to go away this weekend, in order to ensure the arrival of the update, but haven't managed it.

:D If we all pool all of our frequent flier miles, do you think your sister could be persuaded to leave town this afternoon?!!! Please!!! :)

Personally, I would be thrilled to see Farm 8 by the end of this month. I totally agree with her, give them a break. They have given us SO much in the last 6+months that they really deserve to calm down a bit. We all would love to see more new stuff and farm 8 but goodness sakes there is so much to work with now we should be able to keep very busy. If nothing else give your farms a fresh look and that will eat up a very long period of time and before u know it the devs will sneak in the new stuff.

I use gifts a lot. I get about 60 or more each day and have no opinion on anyone who uses gift links.

I used FC to get some of the most productive facilities (no cheese and tomato eating pizza shops for me) and tools - like the 4x4s and Superpooper.
I also used FC to obtain the last 3 expansions on the last 3 farms - because I happen to like billions and billions.
I load my facilities on average twice a week, and top off the facilities, which I can, in between and post them often. ( and a good week is 150-200 million).

I also buy at the market every 12 hours or so to supplement what I am short of.

Thanks for your response on playing the game. Afterall, it is just a game and no one should be getting upset - there is no real farm-vs-farm competition.

When you say someone is not managing their farm right you are judging not giving an opinion. Just because you have hours and hours to play the game and tons of money to spend on the game to get the fc items, doesn't mean that everyone does. It also doesn't mean that a person is not managing their farm right. There are tons of different ways to play the game and for you to say that if someone that has all the facilities doesn't have billions of coins then they are not managing their farm right is very rude and disrespectful. I have all the facilities and it takes me over an hours to fill them up. I could make the time to do that everyday if I wanted to but I don't. I load them two or three times a week depending on the time I have. I have a life outside of ft and I enjoying playing this game for fun not having to work at it just so I can have 100,000,000,000 coins and make my self look big and bad in the world of farm town.
