Clogger, that's an excellent idea, thanks for that ;)
How many trucks do you have? If it is just one then it is better to buy a new truck but if you have more then one truck then the ordering station will cut the time in half for all trucks. If you have 2 trucks the ordering station cuts the time in half on both trucks, so it doubles what you get out of each truck in a 7 day period in a way turning 2 trucks into 4 trucks.

Oooh Jas, that really hurt my brain reading that, lol.
Well, thanks to Clogger, I now have 2 trucks. I'll probably get an ordering station next time I decide to fork out some real money ... thanks for explaining the maths for me though.

doesn't the ordering station also speed up the delivery time of the trucks?

The way you are getting double from a truck is that the time is cut in half for delivery.

Hi there is a item in the store under the tools called the "ordering station with trailer"
this will double the production of the semi trailer truck.
you only need 1 and it will work on all trucks.
you can add it to storage or have it sit behind one of your semi trailer trucks to make it look like a double :)
do any of these new tools have to b on a farm?

The semi-truck has to be on a farm. You can have one on each farm that will produce.
The Ordering Station can be either on a farm or in storage.... and it will work from either place for any and all trucks you may have (one per farm)

all the tools can either be in your storage or on a farm
with the exception of the plowing/harvesting tools they need to be in storage.

I keep buying tools to use the start all then you turn around and I can't use those tools for facilities I bought tools for. I am not buying any more things to use in my facilities. This is unfair.
We are told if we buy these we can use the start all not expecting you to add more we have to buy to do the things we already bought tools to use.

My problem has nothing to do with tools. When farmtown went down on myspace the last time it took alot of my neighbors off my neighbors tool bar and i would like them back. Because i visit my neighbors and water their flowers and just like to know when they are on so i can chat with them. Myspace/slashkey/farmtown i don't care who is at fault i just want to know how i can fix my problem. I want all my neighbors back that have gone missing. I checked and they are all still all my neighbors. Please help me to get them back. Thanks, dornon77

It'd be nice if the red manure spreader gave a warning/error message on farms without plots and didn't let you go ahead if you clicked it by mistake. I've just accidentally fertilised a farm that only has trees and flowers, which means 50 units of manure have been wasted.

I am really disappointed in this tool. I thought this was to help out those of us who could not afford the farm cash tool, but less. It will not harvest what it says. I have had this tool for 3 months now and thought it was just me, but now I find out it isn't. It won't highlight right and it misses trees, a lot!. I so love this game. It is why I came to facebook, which I have posted in other threads. I can't believe this is on purpose. I am so hoping that this is just a problem that needs fixed. I really do love this game. I hate complaining about it.

Hi for the tree shaker to grab all trees (within its limit) the trees need to be grouped together.
it also cannot be used on others farms. :)

Tried fertilizing even though the plants were fertilized to see if it worked. It still fertilized the farm (not that it mattered as there was plenty of manure).
Is there a way that the fertilized crops could be highlighted separately from the farm?

Hello,
Hover over your crops and when you see (F) it means it is fertilised.
Another way to tell is to turn on an option in your game settings "Highlight fertilised crops/trees" which puts a white glow around everything fertilised.
Using the extended tool box is also a quick way to check how much fertilisation time is left on a farm. Just open it on each farm and hover your mouse over the manure spreader without clicking on it, the remaining time will be shown. Make sure you do this on every farm as the times may vary according to when you last fertilised.
Any crop that is still growing when you fertilise will remain fertilised until it has been harvested/chopped. So if you planted a 3day crop on just before the fertilisation ran out, even though the fertilisation has run out on the farm, the crop will stay fertilised until it is harvested.
Fertilisation does not work on anything that is ready to be harvested/chopped. The easiest way to make sure your farm stays fertilised is to check the manure spreader in the extended tool box as explained earlier.

Hi there,
No she won't be able to use it without first owning the smaller FC tools.
The way to look at it is the 4x4 tools are the the actual tools, the bigger tools 5x5 and upwards are all upgrades to those tools, which is why they are cheaper than the original 4x4.
So for her to be able to use the Harvest/Plow combine, she would 1st need to own...
4x4 plow
4x4 harvest
5x5 plow
5x5 harvest
once you own those you can then buy the Harvest/Plow Combine.
To be able to use the other combine, which again is an upgrade, she would also need to own the 4x4 and 5x5 seeders.

You can send the 4x4 harvest tool separately and then the 4x4 plow tool to your sister (or the other way round). These can be used on other farms.

I don't think it's fair that we can't cash in some of our coins for cash to buy facilities and such or that the facilities aren't available in coins. I have over 9,000,000 in coins but can't buy a lot of things because I don't have the cash and I'm not going to pay actual money to get cash. I think this should be changed.

If this was to happen then no one would buy Farm Cash, which would mean that Slashkey would have very little income to keep the servers running or feed, clothe, and house their families. No income means the game dies and goes away. Is that really what you want then?
It is your option to not buy Farm Cash, but to make it easy to get Farm Cash by exchanging coins for it is not the answer.

I totally get that they are trying to make money and support themselves and their families. I'm just thinking that for every million coins I make, maybe they could give me 1 cash buck. I don't think that would be unreasonable, but that's just me.

The first Manure Spreader is Orange $40, the second is Red $50 (Green money not coins) Regretfully they both essentially do the same thing and then you still should buy the top irrigation system. There is no way around it if you want to spread the manure you have to purchase the orange manure spreader. I am tired of purchaseing a tool that is all encompassing then FT/Slaskkey Developers make another that cancels out the first purchase. In this case Orange Manure Spreader MUST be purchased before you can purchase the Red. You will most likely never use the orange one again, I don't and have not. Go see if you can purchase a used one in the market place. The irrigation (orange) system speeds the entire process up. But first you have buy the first irrigation system and advance just like the manure tools above. I do not condone this type of marketing I think it is bad business. But if you want the extra product and the convenience you MUST pay the price or earn more money through working. Otherwise you will spend 20 hours a day working your okoele off. I've put in 1000's of hours to make millions then billions and they keep coming out with more tools. I can't afford the constant demand so I do a lot of work or hire someone from the market to do it for me they cannot spread manure. Good luck. For what it is worth I really like the Manure System it makes the fruit easier to see and you get extra harvests.

The coin shaker needs trees to be close together to use them, and no larger than a 3x3 square, or one farm tile.
Not much better with the yellow shaker, either. It's 8x4, and you have to move the mouse just right to highlight, though most times it is fairly easy. Any tree tool, you have to highlight just right and you'll eventually figure out the sweet spot to get the maximum amount in one click.

As I level up to where I want to hold my own in the wider Farm Town world of the Market Place I am facing the decision of whether to buy a pair of 4x4's to work on other farmers' crops.
But $45 for a Harvester and $30 for a Plow? Who decided these figures were fair? It's a social netwroking game for goodness sake!

They split the Brown from the Red & Orange one. So now you have to make sure you grab the brown one when you go to water someone elses flowers. This was in the new release tonight.

I applaude the idea that the Plow is solar powered, but the Harvester and Seeder and other machinery are fossil fuel powered. This of course gives a dimension to the game where we can exhange gifts, sell fuel and to a point limits how long we can play on for.
But there are Wind Turbines, Wind Pumps and Solar Panels which are just ornaments on Farm Town. Surely they could be used as an alternate renewable fuel source equally viable and usable as the fuel is in the game?
I think its an exciting idea - what do others think? :)

You can order up to 7 days worth and the delivery time per batch is 1 hour. I would buy the truck as you can get more products that way than you can normally get from gifts.
Thank you, that is what I have been thinking

Hi! I would pay real dollars for a tool that would tell me when I have enough of an item to max out my facilities without having to check my storage AND keep track of how many of each item I need to max all facilities. For instance, how many more trees must I chop? How many tomatoes do I need? I know how many I have of everything, now I would love to move my mouse over a crop or a tree and see how many more I need before I load my facilities. A real luxury, I know, but if the devs can do it, I would buy it! Happy farming!

I prefer an Excel spreadsheet for that analysis and do it myself, just enter the data after things are done by the date it's done and compare the results of that.

Good idea, but I have reached the point where I don't seem able to learn new things like that, so I offer to pay for them. I can barely link my farm. But, again, thanks for the idea. Maybe one day one of my grandchildren will offer to set up such a thing for me. (If I can figure out how to describe it.)

Not a ripoff. The tools are simply things that make you play the game less, in a way, and not more.
Don't play just to keep up with the Jonses. You're going to be disappointed. There will ALWAYS be someone with more expendable cash/tools/crops/coins than you.
I haven't bought any tools because I hate working on others' farms. Oh, wait, I have the boat, but I STILL never work on others farms to even use it much. Instead, I've invested in facilities and I'm pretty self-sufficient with crops and work, and I'm not subject to the whims of an employer (oh if only that was real life!).
Something can happen in real life where you won't be able to play, and then you're "behind" again.
But hey, if you want to play the game just to keep up, knock yourself out, but you're going to regret all that money you plopped into it.
Yes this is a "social networking game" but the beauty of this game is that you are not SO depenedent on others that you will NEVER be able to get anywhere at all of you don't have a thousand neighbors. It's truly a game to play the way YOU want to play it. And therefore, you take the responsibility of what you put into it financially.

I agree. At first I kept up with the game fine with no tools. As I gained more farms and more facilities, I had to make a decision - time or $$..... I decided the tools are worth it to keep my repetitive clicking (and frequent lockups) to a minimum. One opinion, hope it helps. Happy farming!

I rarely work anyone else's farms-never had time - and was getting frustrated because I couldn't get anyone at market to help on mine. It was taking so much of my time just working my own that I was no longer getting any enjoyment out of it. It was beginning to feel like 'work' instead of fun.
Now I can spend less time with the maintenance and growing of crops and more time with the 'creativity' when I want w/o the worry of having crops fail or having enough product.

not a ripoff.
And therefore, you take the responsibility of what you put into it financially.
very well typed!!

I'd rather perfer having to purchase Farm Cash-related items using my hard earned Farm Coins instead of having to spend my real life cash purchasing Farm Cash. But, the folks at Slashkey need their money, and the using of Farm Cash helps.
Besides, if I haven't done that, I wouldn't have purchased the Manure Spreader for my farms.

Good idea, but I have reached the point where I don't seem able to learn new things like that, so I offer to pay for them. I can barely link my farm. But, again, thanks for the idea. Maybe one day one of my grandchildren will offer to set up such a thing for me. (If I can figure out how to describe it.)

quite expensive for every thing...including the latest farm enlargement for 1-4!! 10bil!! for each one?! how the heck do they think we can get that far?!
If they made everything easy to achieve, the game's longevity would suffer. I'm glad the prices are high-- gives me something to shoot for and another reason to keep playing.

i don't consider it a ripoff having to spend real money on my game..i could spend way more going to the movies and all i will have to show for it is a flat soda and unpopped corn kernels..so being this is my only source of entertainment as i'm retired...i have everything and will continue to get the new as it comes out...i look forward to it..i stash my coin just to get the new farm when it is released..i consider it a challenge..it is all in the way u manage ur farms..i don't want it to be too easy as i would get bored real quick...devs,...keep up the good work..love this game..

Do any of you have the loading tools...belt dryer, express checkout, bottling machine, etc? I'm considering buying them, but the total for all adds up to be quite pricey! And it seems (to me) that without all of them, I'd still have to spend quite a bit of time loading my facilities. That's the one thing I dislike the most...takes quite a bit of time when I'd rather be doing something else. I added it up and to get all the loading tools would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $80 of honest-to-goodness cash dollars. Soooo...if you own them, do your think it's worth the RL investment?

I got them all slowly over time and yes as 'time' for me is important in playing Farm Town and the reduction in time that those tools gave me, I can spend more time to do other things, at this time now in playing this game those tools have been a great investment for me. I didn't get them all at the same time but over months, over-all I spend $40 bucks here and there maybe a bit more than others, but I also am retired and need something to do and Farm Town is for me that something.

I too have all the tools and I think it is definitely worth it. I would spend more than that per year on interactive computer games that I would play once and then put on a shelf in the closet never to play again. Plus I don't mind paying some real money for fake money because it helps pay for the developers to keep the game interesting with new things being added. I also think it is worth getting them because too much clicking will hurt your arms, neck and shoulder. Yep, been there done that!! LOL. So anything that helps with less clicking is definitely worth the real money spent !]

I actually have two sets of farms and on one I have all of the loading tools. The second farm set has no loading tools, and I surely notice the difference when I go to load the facilities on that second farm.
To me they are well worth their farm cash.

If I had the discretionary money initially I would have bought them as it would save me hours of time. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury so I must do most of it by hand. I do harbor some resentment over the fact that when I started buying the "facility tools" they were described as all encompassing. But, then they started adding more and more to the point of no return and it is totally way too time consuming. BUT due to principal, I refuse to purchase anymore of anything until certain things are fixed. There are many buggy tools and until they take the bugs out of the tools I will not purchase anymore tools. Finally, after a year of fighting it they got the chain saw working properly just recently. I am tired of being charged for everything and anything. At some point it is "just too much". I truly wish they would do something with the Avatar and boundaries as it is counter-productive with it always in the way!

I was having the same thoughts. Initially there was a rumour going around  including from my neighbours that the chainsaw would only work if you planted your trees in little regimental blocks of 8, but I soon found that not to be true, and my chainsaw has worked like a dream from the moment I bought it.

a while back, i crunched some numbers on the combine harvest-plow-plant tool... the tool itself cost $45 FC, which sounds pretty good, right? until you spend the other $180 or so in FC to get the tools that this one tool requires... given that many tools are 'upgrades', why can't they be cheaper than the tools they are rendering redundant? an alternative would be a lower price if the buyer 'traded in' whichever tools the upgrade would replace, with the caveat being that if you want to keep all your tools, you'll pay full price for the upgrades -- does this make sense to anyone, or am i wasting my broadband?

Makes perfect sense to me. That's the reason I and many neighbors do not have upgraded tools. With the economy the way it is we can't afford to buy the FC to buy all the upgrades, Also the outrageous price for expansions on the farms is sp unreal. Thank you for the cahnce to unload all this.

I agree wholeheartedly. Lots of retired people with medical issues play FT and we absolutely DO NOT HAVE any extra money. I haven't bought a FC facility or tool in ages and the paltry cash we get in the upgrades won't buy anything. I'm just playing along with what I have and being satisfied not to have the latest & best.

I purchased a 3x3 harvester and I didn't realize that that particular harvester only allowed me to harvest my own farm...I don't ever harvest my own farm...no money in that now is there? I agree it would be cool if we can gift our old tools. Here is the problem when you start buying cash tools it like a project in process. Here an example when you own a 5 x 5 harvest plow sow tool you need to own 3 4 x 4 tools the harvest plow and seeder and the same 3 tools in the 5 x 5 plus the 5 x 5 harvest plow tool. That requirement alone makes it impossible to gift the other tools. If you sell one of the required tools the main tool will not work.

You can sell the previous tools, the main tool will still work... however i would advise strongly against doing so.... if you sold the previous tools, and you accidentally delete ithe main tool (which is known to happen) you will no longer have those previous tools in order to repurchase the main tool.

This is for crops I just planted - so they should either have their harvest time cut in 1/2 if I need to water, or if the farm is already watered with the green sprinkler. I planted sugarcane this am, watered, and it's taking 12 hrs to mature.

Just one misconception. If the farm is already watered less than 20 hours before, the newly planted crop will not have its harvest time shortened.
However if it let you water after planing the sugarcane then yes it should show that it is ready in 6 hours. Did you try clearing your cache, closing your browser and then reopen and see if it shows the shorter time.

Anyone that wants to upgrade to the new 36 x 36 tools most likely has purchased the gamut of 25 x 25 tools. I'm at the top level, and have carefully spent my farm cash on mostly tools, as that is what helps me work my farm the quickest. I own the 25 x 25 combination harvest/plow/plant tool, and have absolutely no interest in back sliding to separate harvest then plow then plant commands. But to get to the only tool that I have interest in, the 36x36 combo, I will need 140 farm cash.
There is no incentive for me to buy the new tools. I'm not willing to drop 140 FC at one time and I won't buy them individually because I wouldn't use them.
You need an option to purchase the 36x36 combo when you have the 25x25 combo equivalent as a prerequisite.
Love the game, but it doesn't look like you thought this one thru all the way.

I am confused too on cancelling tools. I know we have too many tools. If we have an old tool it would be nice if we can trade them in and with a little real life money have the new tools! Money is tight for every one right now. The devs as well as the farmers. I think a trade in like in the real world with cars we could all be happy. For Slashkey this is an income. For the farmers is is a place to hide out from the real world. Just stinkin' thinkin'!!!

Why should all the good stuff be paid in fc??????
I drop all the Zynga games because of the fact that the best stuff always have to be bought with facebook credits.

Here's my two cents for what it's worth. I have the 5x5 tools and combine and everything that led up to that point. But with each new tool, I have always had the expectation that it would actually speed things up. Frankly, this has never happened. The developers made a change to when you are harvesting and plowing together at a neighbors farm, your avatar is instantly there, quickly jumping from click to click, yet when I do my own farm, she still just lazily very slowly walks around the farm clearing and/or planting, plant & walk, etc. etc. I thought I would see a difference in time between the 3x3 and then again with the 4x4 and really with the 5x5, but it still takes just as much time to do my own farm as way back at the 3x3. I won't be fooled again with the 6x6. It only saves on the number of clicks you have to make. If it doesn't save me time, it is worthless. I hope this makes sense.

You don't have to wait for your avatar to finish, after you have worked on your last plot click on the save button and it will save your progress so you can move on to something else.

I totally agree .. when i read about the new 6x6 combines i figured you would be able to get them as long as you had the 5x5 combines but nope .. have to buy the 6x6 plow, harvester and seeder before you can get the 6x6 combines .. i already have all the smaller FC tools just sitting around wasting space in my storage but since i paid FC for them i refuse to sell them since you only get coins for them and not a reduced FC price .. I refuse to spend 140 FC just to have the 6x6 all in 1 combine, not worth 140 FC just to have all the others taking up more storage space and never get used.

I think the basic tools for 6x6 harvesting, plowing, sowing should be purchased with farmcoins, but if U want the combines, U can pay with farmcash. It's crazy with the charges, the farmcash items should be cut in half. They are taking advantage of those who are addicted to farmtown, they have an illness, & are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure they get every single item, regardless of cost. The company is going to crash soon if they don't get control & start working for those who aren't addicted (seriously). It's not too late for them to make amendments to the charges for items.

If U look in the upper right hand corner of the box in the store for the solar panels, if there isn't a small light green question mark, it means that there are no uses for that item, except for decoration.

I agree. It's getting harder and harder to get people to work my facilities...and my farms aren't hard to work. And, I don't blame my neighbors. I don't like working theirs either. Too time consuming for too little reward. The developers have to find a way to make working facilities faster and perhaps a little more rewarding.

You make TONS of coins working others facilities. I have made over 10 million I believe on some and that isn't counting the items I keep for myself. I think for what one can make working facilities, that really clicking on each facility is not that big a deal. Sure, one can't work everyones, but one makes plenty considering the time spent comparing it to anything else you do in the game. It is totally worth it if one can be one of the first ones to work the faciities. If anything they could do away with the x ing out of the facility, and just have the facilities pop up one right after the other one. Actually when the facilities first came out we had to click on each item in each facility. This here is a big improvement. Of course, back then, there were only a few facilities, so it wasn't that big a deal either. Even than, the facilities made it so that new players could do in a week what it took me months to accomplish.
If they make it super easy, than I probably won't make much on others farms because then all those not willing to work them, will beat me to them. If they make it so that one can work them easily with a farmcash item, than there won't be any reason at all for me to click on others farms if I can't get the farmcash tool. It will increase the gap between those who have real money to spend on the game and those who don't.

I add my request for a "work all facilities on this farm" option. I don't know which I find more daunting - 100 facilities on 1 farm or 2-3 facilities on every farm. For now, though, I'd opt for the ability to work all facilities on each farm at once.

Sorry, but 10M is nothing in FT these days not to mention that I have few neighbors where I can make that kind of coins. It's typically 2-5M which is not much when you consider the price of expansions and the fact that I can make 200-500M when I post my own facilities. I have a couple of neighbors that the first person in will probably make 20M...the problem is you better have at least 30 minutes to work their facilities.
I do not think a FC work all button is the solution. Too few of my neighbors would spend the money...it wouldn't be worth it.

That's what I'm asking for...allow us to work all facilities on one farm. You'd still have to go to each farm that has facilities. And it should not be another FC tool. It's needs to be a free added feature because of all the facilities they've added.

It has been suggested before that they should have an employee manager like they have for the facility manager. The employee manager would open when you go to a neighbors farm to work and all of the workable facilities would be there and all you would have to do is go down the rows and hit work factory on each of the factories on the neighbors farms.

Jun 23 2012, 03:54 PM
I'd love to have an employee manager or something like it. I have most of my facilities on two or three farms but small numbers on other farms too, and I feel bad about hiring people to work on a dozen farms when most of them have only three or four facilities. If we could go to some central area like the facility manager and access all of our neighbour's farms from there rather than going from farm to farm to farm just for the sake of a dairy and a sawmill, it would save a lot of time.

I don't think it has ever taken anywhere near 30 minutes to work anyones facilities, even those that I have to visit over half their farms. I still think the coins and items made are worth the time. I think it is monotonous when you have 90 facilities on one farm, but still I think for the time spent, it is well worth the 10 million you make. I do think that it isn't much considering the cost of the expansions, but it is still alot of coins per time spent.
I just figured it out. If I plant a field of 1000 plots with Acorn Squash, I will get 2000 cause I fertilize, so will make approximately 1600 per plot. Multiply that by 1000plots, and you have 1,600,000. Making 10 million plus ingredients I keep pays off alot better than planting a field of Acorn Squash. I think perhaps that people just enjoy planting a field more than they do working facilities. It could be the same thing as fishing. Some things are just not enjoyable enough for people to put the effort into doing them.

Please make the green irrigation work the same as the manure spreader i.e good for 3 days or reset it each time a crop is harvested. Please put the timer on a real 24 hour clock, the current method is way too confusing. The start all tool does not always work on all products in all facilities, the peaches in the food preserve and the horse rug in the sewing are two that come to mind.

Hi Crafty Chris..TY for the links, however my answer to the ? I asked is not in any of the items listed. There has to be someone that knows what I am talking about. All I need to know is what do I need to do to get that little box in all my facilities except the animals, service, oil..all that do not produce products. When in my Facility Manager and say I go to my Bakery...I open it up and all the products are there for you to produce. With this little box in the left corner you can check it if you want to produce Pumpkin Pie or you can uncheck if you do not want to produce Pumpkin Pie. Someone has to have an answer to this question....you produced it...PLEASE HELP ME
The link that Chris gave you has all the tools listed... starting from the bottling machine onwards, each of those tools activates the checkmarks and the load all buttons. There are too many to list here individually, but that chapter in the game guide has all the info you need

I don't have any boxes to check or uncheck in my bakery to decide which ones to start and which ones not too. If you go to the store and look under tools and go to the bottem of the list, the loaders are all there. There are different loaders for different stores. If yo click on the question mark it will let you know which stores that loader loads. It would take a good bit of farmcahs to get them all. However, I believe that if you own a loader for the store you open up that yo will have the opportunity to check or uncheck which items yo want to load, so that when yo click to load the whole store, it will only load the items yo want to be loaded. Kind of confused how you would already be seeing the boxes to check or uncheck unless you already have the loader for that store, but I suppose, I too, am not understanding your problem.

If you look at the bottom of page 2 of that chapter and on to the next pages each tool for the facility manager is listed and what facilities they work on.

Are you talking on top of the like 400 farmcash it would take to buy all the loaders that are already for sale?
Sorry, I think I was tired when I wrote this response. I thought you were talking about loading the facilities. I agree with another poster who said that if they make one, it should be coins cause many won't have the farmcash for the tool and so will quit working others facilities, me maybe being one of them. When Im home, I work facilities alot. But if there was a fc tool I didn't have to work them, I probably would give up on working them. They could make it coin but really expensive I suppose, but it wouldn't make them any real money and may in fact cost them. Not sure how that works.

I know many people would pay cash for this. But more people will not.
Just my opinion if the devs want to keep FarmTown growing they will offer this one for coins.
Having facilities worked is an important part of the game and I have noticed a huge decline in neighbors who are willing to do so. They still plant and harvest but do not do facilities.

Don't sell the cash crop short.
Add 71% bonuses from belts and dans to the Acorn Squash and you'll get more like 2.7 harvests per plot, netting about 2100 coins per plot if you use a hired harvester. With a 5x5 Combine a good player can harvest/plough, sow, or harvest/plough/sow 1000 contiguous plots in about a minute. Ten farms at 1000 plots per farm (no overlapping or layers), fertilised and irrigated, nets you about 21 million every other day, for perhaps 15 minutes of your own time to hire the harvester and sow the fields. (I don't count the time it takes for your hired hand to harvest and plough for you, as you can spend that time doing other things.)
Of course, many facilities use crops - some need lots of crops to keep 'em filled. So even if you choose to be an industrialist and even if you hire others to harvest and plough for you, you are still going to spend a lot of time pushing a seeder! :D
[Later] I wrote the above when sleepy and lazily used OP's 800 coin net return. The net return on Acorn Squash is actually better than shown above because the 500 coin seed cost is paid only once. Thus the potential net return on a fertilised 6th dan plot of Acorn Squash, harvested and ploughed by a neighbour (10 coins to plough), is actually up to (1342 * 2.71) - (500 + 10) = 3127 coins, not a mere 2100. So the 10,000 plots in my example could return 31 million coins every other day for just 15 minutes work.

The real coinage from facilities comes from having them worked. I help my neighbors because they help me. The coins I make having people work my facilities greatly exceeds what I get helping a neighbor. If the "work all" is cash it could prohibit my cash facilities being worked by someone who is saving their FarmCash for a different purchase.
I think it would benefit the devs in the long run because when people work your facilities you are more willing to pay cash as new ones are released.
Also when facilities are being regularly worked those cash "start all" tools become more valuable.
Just my humble opinion of course!

The tools that load the facilities are great. I don't have the farmcash harvester or plower, but I did break down and use some of my farmcash for 3 of the loaders. I tried to get the ones that would save me the most clicks. Loading faciities is a monotonous job, but if you want to make aot of coins it needs to be done regularly. I know that the game wants to make money, but they also want to keep players. I think if they made the game more "fun" even for those who can't buy alot of farmcash, they would keep more players. These loaders would certainly make the game more fun. If they cost less, or if you had deals where you bought a certain number of them and got one free or perhaps won a cheaper price on them by doing well on quests, that would help. They just cost too much to get all of them. I personally won't be getting all of them. I may get one more and I may not. I do really like the 3 I have and they have made filling my facilities alot easier. Much more worth it to me then the harvester or plower since I rarely work on others farms.

The easiest way to find out is to click on start all and if you don't have the tool it will tell you which tool is needed. I would tell you but doesn't look like they have put the new facilities in the tool section yet and I have all of the tools so I can't tell which tool it uses, especially since the tools doesn't have to be in storage to be used. It works like the yellow glove in that it lets you pick things up and move them. But it lets you put non-plant items it front or behind or in between other items. If you visit my farm 13 you can see where I tucked the waterfall behind the edge of the castle and if you look closely at the fish farming plant you maybe able to make out the open pit mine, but it is also in the same space as the farm, the pig sty and the coop. My mother is really happy with it as she can finally put her rooster wind compass on the top of a building.

I must be the opposite way than most, I want people to see my facilities in my little villages/towns and not hide them behind other buildings, with the exception of my load all and store all tools, those I have in between my trees on one of my farms, that is just so I don't have to keep them in storage and waste the space in their. It isn't easy trying to make one County out of all of my farms, but I enjoy it. Right now I can't see anything that I could use those hands on, but maybe later I will need it and then I might purchase it right now, cause what I do need to layer is very little so I just use the dirt paths.

Yes. It is like the manure truck and the sprinklers, the highest one you have is what shows in the toolbox and does all the functions.

OMG I thought at first about those new gloves and wondered why pay so much to make a job a little easier that we always did anyway with paths, but today I just took the plunge and bought both the orange and the green gloves. A bit pricey yes, but wow so worth it. Thank you Slashkey. A worth-while addition for sure. :-)

Yes, there is one that works that one, I can't tell you which one since I have all of them and didn't see it in the Game Guide tools section yet, if you have all of them you should be able to use it, go into the factory and click on all on the top and see if it says that you have to have a certain machine.

Yes, I know it has been a very long time in responding to your question Taz about ChainSaws being fixed but I couldn't remember where your question was it was in order to respond, so sorry... I don't know if it was just my chainsaw, operator error, or another quirk, all I know is that one day all of sudden my chain saw was working 1000% percent better than it had from the beginning. It seems to work better most days but there are times that it is very maddening.
It is just like the Fishing Bait, each day this week I wake up, start working on my farm and there isn't any bait! But the day before I had about 10,20 thousand fish available prior to going to bed and then the next day they are all gone. Granted, I love to fish but not fishing in my sleep. So back to the chainsaw issue who knows what the issue is....I have a very slow ISP, then FB and or FT "throttles" our accounts, and my upload is only 1MB anyway.
The answer to your question is, "I dunno". What I know is when something doesn't work and then when it does so the only answer I have other than maybe the Menehunes have been messing with my account, is my chainsaw works sometimes and sometimes the Avatar needs to be tied to the tree and laid over the railroad tracks as it is a determent to getting work done! Does that answer your long-awaited answer to your question? Dancing Raven :D\

Wow, since I am not sure what the question is, then hard to figure out your answer. :D
However, if as you say you have a slow ISP, then that is probably what is causing a lot of your problems. And if you are being throttled it would not be FB or FT but would be from your ISP. Many ISP's do that to handle more clients without expanding their own bandwidth which would cost them more.

Since I have all the tools too, I can't look it up for sure, but it should be the bottling machine. That is the only one that makes sense.
When you open the facility, is there a box with a check mark in it for each item? If that check mark is not there then the Start All will not start production on that item. I am not trying to make you out as a novice. It is a very easy item to overlook.

I am torn on the green glove - I haven't bought it yet, since I don't decorate and even if I did, I don't layer stuff on top of stuff.
How is this glove different than people layering buildings and trees and things on top of fields ? I know it won't layer crops or trees, but won't it mess up the game the same as we have been told other layering does ??

My question is mostly about the overlapping of facilities being the same as overlapping crops. I know it won't layer anything on crops or work with plant items, but it says in the Game Guide that it will almost fully overlap other items, so it sounds like it will do like overlapping crops, which Slashkey says that they do not support that type of layering of crops, but if you can put a facility in the corner and then overlap that facility 75% of the way with another facility and continue to do that, many people have stated that they have put several facilities in the space that only a few would fit into, so the data that has to remembered is all of the facilities and all of the ingredients inside each of those facilities. It still seems like to me that it is the same just doing it with facilities instead of crops.

It is basically the same thing, however it is a low number of items as opposed to several thousand plots for crops. The statement about layering and condoning has been modified because of these tools. The only discussions not allowed are about layering crops, trees and flowers now.

I have been unsuccessful twice in getting a response to my question about the Start All tools. Perhaps the 3rd time will be the charm! Chapter 21 of the Game Guide needs to be updated to include the Start All tools for each of the facilities included in the last five (5) New Releases.
Which Start All tool is required for:
(1) Plant Milk Factory
(2) Board Games Factory
(3) Thai Restaurant
(4) Nursing Home (Service Facility)
(5) Electronics Components Factory
(6) Electronics Equipment Factory
(7) Handyman Tools Factory
(8) Electronics Store (Service Facility)
(9) Mediterranean Restaurant
(10) Beach Gear Factory
(11) Hardware Shop (Service Facility)
(12) Beach Gear Rentals (Service Facility)
(13) Playground Gear Factory
(14) French Restaurant
(15) Playground (Service Facility)
(16) Day Care (Service Facility)
(17) Funeral Supplies Factory
(18) Party Supplies Factory
(19) Funeral Home (Service Facility)
(20) Party Store (Service Facility)
I have searched everywhere in the Forum for the answers with no luck. It would be extremely helpful if the Devs could mention the proper Start All tool for each of the new facilities at the time they are released. Failing that, Chapter 21 should be updated as soon as possible after each New Release. Chapter 21 in the Game Guide has the "Updated" flag, but it hasn't been updated since May 12th, I believe.
I have all the Start All tools, so there is no way that I can query each facility in question. :) Many thanks for any light you can shed on this subject.

Hi, we have asked the developers for the information. If you have all the start all tools then all new facilities released will work with one of them.
Thanks so much for the reply, Tony! As I said, I own all of the Start All tools, so when new facilities are released, the proper Start All tool is automatically selected when I fill those facilities. However, I am trying to help a friend who cannot afford to buy all of the tools. I have done an analysis of her farm to determine which factories and service facilities she owns in order to recommend the most logical and efficient Start All tools for her to buy. Before I can make that recommendation, I need to know which Start All tools are used for the facilities released since the last update to Chapter 21. My friend has quit buying any new facilities, because it takes so long to load them without at least some of the Start All tools!
I appreciate your asking the developers for the information I need. Hopefully, you will hear from them soon. I assume when you get that information, you will add it to Chapter 21? That's where I will check unless I hear from you to the contrary. :)
Many thanks!

The Service Facilities are a little easier there is only 2 Start All tools for them, they are the Express Checkout Station and the Manual Lift truck. According to the Game Guide all the Service Facilities only use those 2 tools.
I would say the Service Facilities that goes with the Express Checkout Station would be:
1. Electronics Store
2. Hardware Shop
3. Beach Gear Rentals
4. Party Store
I would say the Service Facilities that goes with the Manual Lift truck would be:
1. Nursing Home
2. Playground
3. Day Care Center
4. Funeral Home
The above is just guesses at which ones each of those Service Facilities would go with.

Not replying directly to you kitt1962 - just quoted to be in line on the original statement I made a few days ago .... so, since the game guide has been changed stating Slashkey does NOT support layering or crops (since this tool came to be, the wording has been changed to accomodate the use of this tool) -- it just seems to me that first it was frowned upon, but now -- for 90 Farm Cash -- it is not.
I still don't know whether to buy it or not .... I have everything that ever came out, but these two gloves, and a few of the train cars .... I am on the fence about.

I don't have either of the gloves, what I need to overlap I just use the paths, I don't overlap a lot of items. I try to make farms that could be seen in real life and you don't usually see one building on top of another building. I do sometime have to use the path like if I need a sign where part of a fence is. There is a couple of the train cars I don't have either, I have 10 dispatched so when I work a neighbors farm the mayor does the work for me and as for the extra stuff I get in the train car, I will just sell the extra stuff.

I love the new boat! It is so hard to find someone to fish for me and I have so many lakes and seacoasts that when I find someone to fish them, they usually dont get them all.
I do wish that I could use it on other farms though. It wouldnt be worth buying if I didn't have so much water.

It is a known glitch and they are looking in to this.
Known Issues
- Somtimes your water items fish count go into negative numbers, it will allow you to continue fishing, although the fish will dissapear from the storage when you refresh. This will be corrected on Monday.

Put your boat in storage then you can use it on all your farms that have water.

And before you couldn't get people to fish from the market. What a turn around.

When you buy the waters they each tell you what they have in them.

Ok fishing boat might be great, but where are the cod? Haven't gotten any in 3 days. This might be the wrong place to post this but several of us are so frustrated. We buy the seas and no cod....Hi this is covered in the fishing section of the game guide .. this link may help http://slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4362718#post4362718

best TOOL in Farm Town, now if we could just plow or harvest or sow a whole farm with one tool, that would be worth buying!!!!
thanks for the Turbo boat

Add me to the list of farmers who LOVE the turbo boat! Crazy good...... Now I am holding my breath for a turbo tree shaker, and turbo harvester, and turbo plower, and turbo seed sower, and, and, and,...... LOL
I can cover a lot more ground in a lot less time and I love it. Much appreciated. Thanks so much!! :D

I wouldn't say that I love it, but it is very good, makes it easier to make waterfalls and to overlap the waters and not have to worry about not being able to get all of the fish without having to reload the farm.

I think the turbo fishing boat is one of the better tools they have offered. It has taken a source of frustration (fishing) and brought it up to speed (literally) with the other tools.
Thanks! :D
