Farmtown is trying to give us a good game. We don't need to give up because we don't like something new that has come into the game. Give them some space to improve on what they have given us. This is the best game out there by far.

Why don't the devs just move the popups from the middle of the screen to the side and not let them interfer with the gameplay. Then we can check them like we check our messages and deal with them if we want to.
Also, getting rid of extra space in the menus would be nice and make them smaller. I play on a netbook with a very small screen. When I open the facility manager I have to scroll up and down to see the whole manager and then scroll back up to close what ever facility I opened. If the menus were made smaller just by removing the extra spaces and making the pictures a little smaller that would be helpful.
BTW, I love the belts and I liked being able to get product from bonuses but I agree the limit needs to be removed. Why have limits? The same thing with buying product from other players. What is the purpose of the limit? If I have lots of coin and can buy all the product I need instead of planting it myself how does that hurt the game? It helps other players who are lower in level and lets me do the part I like, the facilities. Don't understand the limit thing. I get that the facilities were being filled too quickly but I don't see how using coin I earned to buy product from other people who earned it can hurt the game. REMOVE LIMITS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have yet to received a belt bonus on my own or extra box whatever. Seem only way to get them is to have a friend click on the spam messages.
FT is very slow today I think this is cause by belts. Can we have a bonus basket in storage so when we do get a belt bonus we know like we do for gifts. right now kind of hard to tell

Forgive me that I don't have time to read through all the posts today, but I will later. PLEASE tell me there is a way to keep FT posts about the new belts from automatically posting to FB. I would really hate to have to block FT posts because I'd miss the facility hires, but I sure don't want to see FT turn into FV with unending posts to FB. My non-farming friends would block me.
Also... can we make strawberry-rhubarb pie in the bakery?

Oops, forgot something. The new vehicles that face the other way are great... until you put them on the road. Then half of the vehicle disappears below the asphalt. Counterproductive. Can they fix it to float on top?

I didn't say the Developers haven't given us a good game, I have spent my own money on this game because I love it so much, i don't mention leaving lightly, nor is it a threat. I just don't like the flooding of my newsfeed..which is exactly why I left the other game..
Nice to know the pop ups will stop for the bonus's, although irritating they didn't annoy me so much as the bonus requests................when I logged on at 7 AM U.K. time this morning the whole of my news feed from top to bottom was just full of bonus requests, I tried to scroll past to look for facilities to work but gave up as there were just too many bonus requests to get past first plus I just couldn't see any posts from non-playing friends.
Hopefully within the next two or three days this will settle down otherwise I am sorry to say the bonus requests has spoilt the game for me.....I won't stop playing but I won't get the same pleasure from the game either.

If I get a belt, what can I use it for?
In the part where I have a lot of cups it says that I can buy something for them in the shop. But how do I do that? I have never tried. Can I exchange a cup for a thing which I would have to pay with farm town $'s? It takes me so long time to save up the farm town $'s so I can buy something. I just understand!! I refuse to use real money to buy farm town $'s for. It's all my trophyes, I mean.
Are you sure you aren't mixing games? What cups?

I agree.. that's exactly why I left the "other" farm game. I know the devs are trying to make the game more interactive, but if we get hundreds of posts a day, I will have to figure out how to block them and still have my own farm to play on. Of course, we can all choose not to post OUR "belts", but I'm sure it would be difficult to convince all our friends/neighbors to do the same.

The pop-ups did not automatically post to your FB you or the neighbor who put it there had to have clicked publish in order for it to post.
The developers have modified the belts so the only ones now that you will see to post are the Black Belt level.

I do understand the limits you put on things, you can’t make it to easy but this can be tweaked. In my humble opinion putting a 3 hour wait to collect or 12 hours to buy is plain silly, who is gonna set there alarm to get up every 3 hours to click on a post so they can take FULL advantage of the feature. Limits should be set per farm town day, nothing less. You are trying to force people to log on more which will not work.. There are very few people who could actually get the full amount of the set limits
Right now if I log on every 3 hours I could possibly get around 2 million coins worth of products. Why not make people happy by allowing a limit of around 1 point 5 million PER farm town DAY to be collected and when buying products allow 2000 PER farm town DAY. When people are forced to log on every X amount of hours, IT GROWS OLD REAL FAST. 3 hour or 12 hour limits are for that other very greedy farm game.
With the belt system that was introduced my homepage was overwhelmed with posts. I would say in the neighborhood of 500 minimum. When I logged on this morning I could only get product from 2 YES 2 How lame is that. I know the posts will calm down after awhile but more useless posts will only cause people to BLOCK posts from Farmtown. Once they have taken the step to Block posts it usually is not long till they don’t play no more.
I am not threatening to quit, But I am telling you if this trend keeps up I will NO LONGER pay to play.

One question about the Service Facilities: When I want my friends to come to my farms to do my service facilities, do I need to post each facility separately? Or do I just post one services facility and my friends would be able to go from farms to farms to work them? I have the service facilities spread out in 3 different farms so I'm wondering if I need to post each facility on its own and my friends have to click on each one of them in order to do the work.

Yep, same here. I think the devs will probably look back on all of this as their darkest hour. ;)
But yes, 'course I still love the game! And I actually like the belts - just higher limits on 'em, please. Then you can keep the popups for all the levels and they won't be so dang annoying.

:eek:OK, I have spent several minutes reading thru all of the previous posts on this hideous update.:( I did not post earlier, and I am so pleased that the devs responded SO VERY QUICKLY to the requests:D THANK YOU!!
That being said, I started 2 years ago playing both Farm Town and the other farmgameville. The reason I no longer play the other was the CONSTANT requests for help, pop-ups, requested postings, etc. to MY Face Book page. I do NOT care to share with all of my non-farming friends any posts concerning a game that I play. I DO customize the request to work in facilities and service facilities to my farming neighbors.
One of the most positive aspects of Farm Town is that I can interact as much or as little as I want with neighbors or in the market place. If I choose to farm alone, I really don't notice much difference.
Since only people who PLAY Farm Town and have farms can work in my facilities or harvest/plow/etc., from the market......
WHY DO THINGS HAVE TO BE POSTED ON FACE BOOK AT ALL?? WHY CAN'T THERE JUST BE INTERACTION WITH POSTINGS ON NEIGHBORS' FARMS OR THRU THE GIFT REQUESTS POSTINGS??? I really don't think flooding Face Book with all of these requests is going to encourage a single person to START playing Farm Town. Instead, I imagine most of my friends will do as they have done for all of the Zynga games and completely block them.
Once again, the devs are giving us frequent updates and responded very quickly to this fiasco of the belts. I thank you once again for that. :)

Or do I just post one services facility and my friends would be able to go from farms to farms to work them? Just post for one, they can go farm to farm. You do have to post separately for service facilities and normal ones but just 1 of each.

Last night when they launched the belts.......within just a few minutes....I removed 172 post to my wall from neighbors posting every belt that they rec'd. I was not a happy camper. Hopefully a lot of thought is "now" being put into the "Belt" program. For many of us that are at the top level....they are SO WITHIN reach...there is nothing to challenge us. Hopefully that will change :) I love Farmtown ...... Happy Farming Everyone.:)

Thank you Raul for turning these off. BUT... please just get rid of all of them! We don't want pop ups! I left that other farm because of pop ups. I do not want to be chased away from this one too! Neither does my husband. <br>

BTW... he suffers from PTSD and the pop ups are BADDDDDD. He finds this game relaxing when he's had a stressful day, like many of us do... but the pop ups add stress.

No! It's the trophies we get in farm town. Just click on the trophie button in your farm and you'll see all the trophies you get.
I'm only playing farm town and no other game.

I can safely say yes there's a belt because I got pop ups last night before the tweaking on harvesting Cherry trees. There's just no place to check this.

Yes this happens with everything that you rotate from the normal - I get trees on top of buildings and camels that vanish under sand dunes!!

ditto . . I quit the other game because of pop ups. I wont quit FT, but I won't post the pop ups. Thought the belt idea was cute at first but didn't know how it would work. Some of us will go through them faster than others and top out right away. Now that I know how it works, you can keep it, I don't really like it. Sorry.

lol... well I like it but like some have already said, would hate to see FT become like FV, I hardly ever play FV any more because of all the do this get this bla bla bla and all the posts... tons of posts every hour from other FV neighbours... thats what I love with FT that the posts are easy to sort and they are only useful ones , so I think its a great idea only to post Black belts.. because all of us could use extra stuff now and again, but would be great if it wasn't a limit to accepting them or set a daily limit as somebody suggested, I can't be online all day or in the middle of the night so would be nice if I could be allowed to collect when i want to throughout the day instead of having to come back every 3 hrs.

We just released a new version of the game with the following features and bug fixes:
1. New Gifts and Items in lower levels:
-10 Trees added to the Gift section, some with different sizes to create better landscapes. The big pine can be chopped.
-18 vehicles now have a view in the opposite direction in the Motion Section.
-Blueberry,Pineapple,Grapes,Peas,Onion and Raspberry buckets, 4 Wild Grass (small and large), Milk Keg, Wooden Flower Bed in the Farming section.
-3 Farmer Markets and a Rabbit Hutch (to store your bunnies) in the Buildings section.
-Red Brick Fences in the Fences section.
-Some gifts were moved to the Store.
2. Avatar clothes: Each sex have 6 different types of clothes (including the default overall), each type has 3 different color versions. Here are the clothes available:
-Overall, Street, Cowboy (Coins)
-Overall-Pro, Casual, Tuxedo/Dress (FC)
Once you buy FarmCash clothes you unlock them forever so you can take it off and on anytime, but It doesn't go to storage.
3. Seeder 5 x 5 (FC): If you already own the Seeder 4 x 4, then you can buy this new seeder to plant up to 25 fields at a time.
4. Store All gifts in one click: The Store All button in the gift window allows you to store all storable items at once. Notice that it will only store animals in the animals buildings located in the current selected farm.
5. Flower Harvester 8 x 8 (FC): If you already own the Flower Harvester 8 x 4, then you can buy this new Flower Harvester to harvest up to 64 flowers.
6. Request for Help in your Service Facilities: If you click the 'Get More Clients!' button in your service facilities (What's in Stock section) your friends will be able to refer clients to your service facilities so you can Cashout more coins faster and restock more often. The rules and benefits for you and your friends are the same as in the regular facilities.
7. Belt Ranks in Crops, Trees and Flowers (To be launched sometime next week): You can now achieve different Belts Ranks (like in Judo) on every product in those categories. The Belts have different colors for each Rank.
A new Belt for a product can be achieved by harvesting that product a number of times.
The current Belt achieved for a product is shown in the store. If you mouse over the product icon you will see how many harvests are required to reach the next Belt.
Every time you or an employee harvest in your farm the counter for the harvested product is incremented by one. ***The employee counters are not incremented***.
When you reach a new Belt there will be more chances that in future harvests for that product you get an extra product box. Below are the available Belts and the benefits you get:
White Belt - No extra box
Yellow Belt - 5% chances for an extra box
Orange Belt - 10% chances for an extra box
Green Belt - 16% chances for an extra box
Blue Belt - 22% chances for an extra box
Brown Belt - 29% chances for an extra box
Black Belt - 36% chances for an extra box
For example, when you reach the Black Belt for Wheat, from that point on when you harvest wheat there will be a 36% chance of getting an extra box of Wheat.
In the future you as a farmer will have a Belt as well based on how many belts of a specific color you have, and there will be even more chances of getting extra product boxes when harvesting.
Also in the future you will be able to reach Belts for fish, animals and facility products.
8. Home Supply Factory (Coins): Produce Home Supplies. You can produce Chandelier Shades in the Glass Factory.

This is true, and as testers it is our right and dare I even say responsibility to let the developers know what works and doesn't work for us. Someone said "threatening to quit is childish". I don't see it as a threat to say that if something this disruptive remains I may have to leave the game. It's different for everyone, but if we don't give feedback, how will they know? I don't see being mean-spirited, but I think vocal is ok :) Many of us spend actual money on the game, so, ya, it behooves them to listen to us.

Hmmm . . . hate to be in the minority but I don't mind occasional popups. To be honest, I really like being able to click on the belt posts. Have you guys tried it? You get tons of that crop all just for one click. It's awesome.
I just don't want nearly as MANY popups
I don't want my wall totally plastered with belt posts
And I don't want the "3 hour limit" thing.
But I thought the overall idea was good - just way too much of a good thing.

Is it rotation that causes things to sink? I thought you had to position them "just so" or something. Sometimes I can get mine stuff to stay on top and other times I can't.

The outfit will now be unlocked. You change your clothes when you click on your avatar and click 'change avatar appearance".

Just go to your profile page and delete the belt posts that you want to get rid of. Then post requests for ingredients that you want :D

while harvesting I received two belt notices (one each for pineapples and onions) but when I clicked to post this on facebook, I got the "sorry, an error has occurred, try later". Of course there will be no option to try later, so I guess I'm out of luck. This is worse than not having the belt system.

I personally don't like the belt idea if they want the belt as a standard feature then they need to abolish the ingredients requests and make it that we can buy ingredients like crude oil/Petrochemical barrells etc from other players directly like we can crops flowers fish flowers etc & remove the 1000 limit
or make it that no limit applies when buying direct from neighbours
I used to recieve approx 12 ingredient packs from each post every 3 hours since the belts has been released im lucky to recieve 2 ingredient packs.
This is supposed to be a farming game not a fighting sport.
I personally vote to have the belt system abolished

Trophys are really just a progress thing. You cant exchange or trade them for anything :)

You only need to post the request from just one service facility, and like with the normal facilities, they will be able to jump from one farm to the next and continue to work the service facs :)

Hi there, I'm not a newbie to the game but I don't post in the forums, usually.... just had to weigh in and say....I absolutely LOVE the new updates! Store all in the gift box has long been on my personal wish list.... VERY Happy with that.
I do have one question though.... the new ability to work the service facilities has the ONE blue button at the top "Refer Clients", this processes each item in the facility and gives you the reward in one lump.... would it be feasible to do that with the regular facilities too? I find that my biggest time stealer when working neighbor facilities is waiting for the server to catch up to the multiple clicks in a facility, and it is still saving when I accept the next facility and I end up missing that one. Just a thought.. :)

probably been already asked but how about a bait shop? I do hate haveing to use all my gifts for bait and not able to get any of the other new gift items. I have to use the semi trailer for meat so why not something for bait and salt?

Strange thing I noticed about the belts, they show in the Store but when you go to Sow and you select your tool (doesn't matter which one 1x -5x) which opens the Store, it does show the belts but it does not show the colors of the belts you have. First time I did this I thought I had lost all my belts... If they are in the Store, they should be in all views of the Store. Just saying...

it is coming in the next game release which would be expected this month but only Sir Raul (the developer) Knows the exact date that we will see it
I would expect that there will be new facilities aswell as the new levels that have been announced.
as for seeds we can only hope
maybe even a use for Rhubarb wink wink nudge nudge and even artichoke cauliflower rock mellon (cantelope)

Hi there, I'm not a newbie to the game but I don't post in the forums, usually.... just had to weigh in and say....I absolutely LOVE the new updates! Store all in the gift box has long been on my personal wish list.... VERY Happy with that.
I do have one question though.... the new ability to work the service facilities has the ONE blue button at the top "Refer Clients", this processes each item in the facility and gives you the reward in one lump.... would it be feasible to do that with the regular facilities too? Agreed I'm afraid. It is becoming a massive 'chore' to work in the facilities for our neighbours. I have neighbours who have multiples of multiples of almost all of the facilities, and it has taken me more than 10 minutes just to work the facilities of one neighbour. I have a very fast computer, but to help out all my neighbours and thereby gather some extra produce for myself becomes an 'I don't have time' option.
My neighbours beg for me to do their facilities, but very often I just simply can't take out half an hour or more of what playing time I have waiting for their various farms to kick in, and working sometimes more than 100 facilities on each farm. We are definitely down to needing a faster, more efficient way to do it.

OK - here is my 2 cents for what it is not worth on the belts. The math doesn't work with fertilized fields (I think). I just harvested a brown belt field of raspberries - full farm. It seems to only add based on the number of squares - not fertilized. It should have calculated on 2048 fertilized, but it added based on the 1024 squares. I received 2349 raspberries total - an increase of 301 extra from the normal 2048. I should have gotten twice that. This doesn't seem right if you spend ALL that farm cash on the fertilizers. I think my math is right.....

You harvest the fields, The fertilized fields give you twice as many crops, not twice as many fields. So the belts are based on the fields or squares.

THE BAD:
When posting my belt achievements to give plants to neighbors and get the bonus for myself, I have a lot of neighbors clicking "like" but I receive few of the belt bonuses in my gift box. I recently posted a belt for mushrooms and did not get a single thing in return although I know at least 6 or 7 of my neighbors clicked the link. :(
I am able to click just ONE neighbor's belt posting or ingredient request in the feed and then I am told I have reached my limit of (what is it) $250,000 in 3 hours? Why have people posting all of those things if I can only click ONE of them? So many lost opportunities! It is disappointing and frustrating to see all of those go by and I can do nothing to take advantage of them!
I will start paying closer attention, but I believe at least since yesterday, the 3-hr limit has extended for me for some unknown reason. A couple of times I was fairly certain more than 3 hours had gone by but I still couldn't claim *my one item* lol, from the feed due to the time restriction.
Is this a new bug that needs to be fixed?
Or somehow is the $ limit at conflict with these other things? I didn't think the $ limit applied to people clicking on my own requests...
THE GOOD:
I really like how the belt postings are now for the black belts and the degrees of black belts, and that other, lesser, achievements (except for the brown) just have a temporary flash of small text on the top of the game screen. Great solution! But, IMHO, you can go even a step further and also nix all feed postings for the brown belts.
I love Farm Town! Although I much prefer the graphic elements of FV, I was swayed to stay with FT only (and only give FT my hard-earned REAL cash) because of how well the Devs pay attention and respond to the wishes of the players. I won't play a game (like FV) where they take my money and consistently ignore my wishes. Farm Town doesn't do that, so THANK YOU!

If possible, when we DO get the extra crop bonus, could it be announced to us while harvesting with the little temporary flash of happy text at the top of the screen? It would save us from having to try to figure out via the amounts in our storage if a particular crop yielded a bonus or not.

We need the belts because those folks who can't make goals for themselves and depend on the game to do so for them were bored and needed something to do :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I am limited to how many bonuses I can accept, and when I return later the bonus offers I had to pass by have expired. PLUS I pull myself up to a brown belt, get 2 takers after I post then it expires and NOW it seems brown belts may no longer be offered as bonuses.
You have given in to the most advanced players to whom a couple hundred tomatoes mean nothing. I plant on 7 farms but the other 2 have to be used for facilities. Layering is something I don't do. Dont know whats happening but I am getting Brown Belt notifications and pop-ups.
Devs - please dont get rid of the Brown belts or the Dan degree posts!
I guess Im in the minority but I am depending on all of them to stock up some badly needed crops I have trouble getting enough of!

We need a work-all button in our normal facilities like we have in the service facilities. Hardly anybody works my facilities anymore, but when i post my service facilities TONS of people come to work those...

I think we need a another basket called bonus so it would look like this in storage Grapes, Grapes (large) then a new one Grape (bonus)
This would make it more clear if we recieved a bonus or not.

When I clicked on the move all button again, it stated there was nothing left in the gift box to move...not true. There are a LOT of trees left in the gift box.
At first I thought that maybe the storage unit was full so I moved 1 tree from the gift box and planted it. Next I clicked on the tree to add to storage and it went into storage with no problem, so storage is not the issue.
I do not know if anyone else is having this problem, however, the dev's cannot resolve issues they know nothing about.

am i missing something here. i just click the red button and the belt announcement does not go to all my friends page, so if some want the announcement they can click the green button. That is one of the main reasons that I play farm town I don't let my friends and family know how much time I have invested to get to level 201. lol

We just adjusted the limits for the Ingredients and Belt Bonuses Help. You can now post 5 times in a 12 hours period and accumulate up to 1,000,000 in coins in that period. We expect less posts and bigger chances of getting more value this way. Belt bonuses and ingredient requests limits remains separate as they are now.

I like the idea of the belts being modified to once every 12 hours as the qty's are so much higher but the ingredient requests is no good as before i could send upto 4 sets of ingredients per neighbour per 12 hours now i can only send 1 (2 if there lucky)
can i suggest this?
for the ingredients requests maybe change it so we can send 4 times in a 12 hour period per neighbour with 1 million coins limit in 12 hours
its a bit of a win win situation that way

I have a comment on the friend's activity panel. We need it to say ' worked in your SERVICE FACILITIES' instead of just 'worked in your facilities'. It takes huge amounts of time to work all my neighbor's facilities, and so I have made it known that I will not work a neighbor's post if they do not work mine. I don't need the coins or XP, so I do theirs as a favor to them. But since you added the service facilities, I can no longer tell who actually worked my actual facilities post and who just referred clients in the service facilities. If it isn't changed I may just have to stop posting my service facilities and I hate to do that because some friends really need the coins and XP.

going by history there is atleast 1 update each month
so that would tell me the next update should (however not guarenteed) be within the next 3 weeks
the mayor and tom will be awfully malnourished by then so far the swat team hasnt found them :D

Last year they put out things for Father's Day to decorate our farms with, so I'm assuming they will do the same thing this year. Releasing the stuff for Father's Day will release farm 10 (or so I hope.) :)

Two things with Father's day stuff. One most if not all of last years stuff is in the store in different sections so unless we get new stuff not much to release. Second they have been know to release holiday stuff only and not even make an announcement about it so it is like a mini update and would not count as the next update talked about in the last update.

you'll see it when it happens. The Tools area will look different, there will be different gifts and there's always the standby, realtor office.
we all just guess when it will be, but Raul has been giving us tidbits about what the next one contains. When this update was released, he said that Farm 10 and more levels would be included in the next update.

I love new facilities because with that, comes along new crops and ideas etc. I think to add more things to the bakery and facilities like that means an even bigger demand on wheat and sugar etc, which is already a bug bear for many!

Not sure where to put this but I can't find 15 hens sent to me as gifts. The new gifting info is that they were put into their proper storage. Where are they? I exitted the game, came back in, cleared, checked, nothing. It is a wonderful idea but not if my hens are gone!!!! Thank you.

The proper storage for them would be in your Chicken Coop, so that should be where they went.

If you have a service facility, go to 'what's in stock' and then click 'request clients'.

Um, if they had gone there, I would not have posted. My hen count on the farm I asked they be released is the same it was before I got the gifts.

the next update is to have farm 10 and more levels.
What else is there going to be. I need a crystal ball to try to see if i can find out.
I am hoping for the multi farm hire, would make things easier and faster. A facility manager for working neighbors facilities with 1 click do all like the service facilities.
Have lost most of my neighbors doing facilities do to it taking so long.
A 50 box for filling facilities to go with the 10 and 30 would be great.
New seeds and ways to use them. A few more 2 hour to five the raspberries a break. And some 6 hour crops to fill the hole between the 4 and 8 hour ones.
At times the 4 hour are to short and the 8 hour are to long.
Well no crystal ball, but id did find a weggie board at a yard sale. Need to sit and see what it will tell me. :d
hopefully 50 levels!! That would b nice!! Something for us upper levels can work at!!!! Please devs please!!

50 Levels? I don't think that is near enough or they need to make the spread much farther apart. The last 50 level spread, 160 @ 2,158,000 XP - 210 @ 4,032,000 is only 1,904,000 SP spread. I know I am by far not the highest in XP but I have 12,808,783 XP which is a 8,746,783 spread would more than 200 new levels to have something to shoot for. I just have think about getting the MAX amount of FT Cash when there is an update and be happy for the free cash. :) I think they are going to run out of names to call them. :D
Its all fun anyway.

I'm loving the bonus harvests. I wish you could accept more than one every 12 hours. There absolutely has to be a way to either increase our buying capacity in the market, or set up a supermarket to allow us to sell our excess harvests. If you stock it like a regular facility with the things you want to sell- then your neighbors and workers could stop in to see if you have what they need. No invite required. Totally dating myself here, but those old enough to remember playing the Legend of Zelda, do you remember the excitement of finding a hidden treasure? Or cave with a heart container? It would change regularly, but it would keep us playing, and give those with little available time to sell off their excess crops. I think it would even be a challenge to those who have begun to stay out of the market a reason to come back.
I do know that 9 farms, and another on the way the market buying limit is grossly lacking. 1000 items is far too little. Especially since some products require numerous items to start producing.
In any case, I would like to see more products for our current facilities. Especially items that use our non-ingredient harvests. It would be nice to be able to gift any harvest we wanted to, even if it were for a limited time. High use items like corn, rice, walnuts, carrots, onions, and lettuce would be awesome. It would also be nice to have the ability to advance hire. Or set three neighbors who have unlimited hire- so they could care for one farm or all of them at their convenience.

I really like this idea. While I'm not needing to buy any crop right now since the belts are giving me more than I need, I could definitely see how it would help others and it would be a fun reason to go to a neighbor's farm. The devs could add the functionality to the existing general store in the buildings sections of the store.

50 new levels would only mean an increase of 50 $FT for me and for many.... enough for one more facility if there is one worth buying.
I too would be maxed even if they added 150 or 200 levels or more. So there is nothing there of interest. Besides, it is so much easier to get coin and get exp points now than EVER before. So the "challenge" is not really a reality.
One of my grandkids got his FB account, and opened a FT to "help grandpa". Haha..
He has no interest in playing at all, and for the last 3 days since he opened the farm, he has only taken the belt bonus postings from me and his grandma. He has over $1.4 million coin already. Not much else... but he is now a 14 year old millionaire.. ......... way too easy.......:cool:

I think that there could also be a facility bonus if you max yours out on all products at least so many times in a specific time period.
But my real issue is that I don't have the time to play as often or as long as I'd like, and when I do have time, I don't have enough ingredients. I am okay on my animal products right now ;), but lack the time to plant and harvest anything that is less than a 1 day harvest.

I know people complained about belt posts every 3 hours and the crop limit not being enough but honestly this 12 hour limit on the ingredients and belts is driving me and my neighbours nuts. Who is around for the other 12 hour time on the clock! Basically this now means we get one stab at it every day!
And the 1000 items per 12 hours on the buying/selling is not enough - the market place is full of sellers because we have all maxed out on our limits!

I have both myspace & facebook Farm town & I am very upset that none of the new releases ever work on myspace!!! where do I go to get the developers attention to this problem? On myspace we cannot exchange our gifts for what we need!! Now we do not get the belt bonuses!! Plz someone help the MYSPACERS!!

I too am losing neighbours due to the time it takes to cover facilities, with some going to that ville game.
6 hour crops would be good, or better still - double the time it takes for crops to perish, cos at the moment I am only able to plant 8hr crops on a Friday due to my work hours and my racing on Sundays, and trying to make sure I have vacant farms for the planting of 8hr crops takes too much planning.
If perish time was doubled then I would be able to plant many more 8hr items.
(lettuce being my biggest bug bear)

I agree. At one time I expressed an interest in a reward system wherein tokens were provided allowing a one-time early harvest per token, in case I have to leave before harvesting a quick crop. Your thought mirrors that.

good idea i do see its merrits
however i find that farmtown is very realistic (well crop times arnt) but i guess if we had to wait 8 weeks for a crop to be ready we would give up playing but real farmers cant freeze there crops (unless its very cold where they live) so that would be unrealistic farmtown is about managing your crops only plant what you know you can harvest like dont plant rasberries if you know you will be going out directly after planting and wont be home till the morning
i personally hope they dont introduce a freeze crop option

I liked a suggestion a few days ago about being able to freeze crops with a limit of only three times a year to cover a break away from home. At the moment when I take a week long holiday in the REAL world, my virtual farm planted with four day crops doesn't quite make it through. I'm addicted enough to this game to be miserable about having to go away with my farms unplanted.
Yep, I do have a notebook computer, but I like to pretend that I'm not addicted to Farm Town when I'm on a trip :cool:
I actually would also rather have a selection of crops on either end of what we have now,that gave us a few more time options to use so that they fit in with our real world schedules. Perhaps some 6 hours ones and at least a couple of 5 day ones to cover a full real world week.

My suggestion was to add weather to the game (random of course because this will increase the need to buy and sell as some farms may have bad weather for few weeks ) We would have a daily forcast weather report for the next 7 day and depending on the weather if you could seed or harvest.
The weather report could be either symbols under the fuel tank icon or in preferences.
Eg If you sow one day and your crop is due when heavy rain is forecast that you only receive 75% of crop. or if you seed say a 3 day crop and the next 3 days is sunny that your crop yield increases to 130%
And if you get a weather report of a hurricane that any crops needing on that day will suffer loss of their crop.. but you can still sow and plow on that day.
That would make Farmtown more challenging.
here are some other ideas eg.
Cold snap - Fruit Trees 20% loss of harvest
Heavy Rain - loss of 25% of harvest
heat wave - Certain crops loss of 25% - cucumbers, squash - plants that affect by heat
Hurricane / tornado (rarely) - loss of crop or up to 50%
Snow - depending of the crop - loss of crop or up to 50%
Sunny Days - for crops 2 days or more increase harvest by 10% per day.
programing would not be hard - if then statement
yield =harvest yield x type of harvest divide or multiply weather factor.
I feel this would make the game more interesting and could to lead to other ideas. ( I have many more if this was to happen)
Also Farm town should have two levels..for this to happen

No offense but I don't like this idea at all. We all come to farm town to escape reality in some form (if we didn't, no one would be here). I've been through enough storms...cleaning up real messes from hurricanes and tornadoes, I don't need them being on my game too.

No offense but I don't like this idea at all. We all come to farm town to escape reality in some form (if we didn't, no one would be here). I've been through enough storms...cleaning up real messes from hurricanes and tornadoes, I don't need them being on my game too.
I appreciated your thoughts and reasoning. I thought long and hard about this idea that why I also suggested 2 Levels.. for players like you that want to keep playing the game as you are... the second layer are for players that need more stimulation.
There many parts of the game many players don't like - introduction of alcohol and naming of drinks (Sex on the beach) belt system etc but players still play on.
My suggestion and idea is giving each player the option without restricting each other.

What I have suggested in the past and I think could be good for the game is some different kinds of fertilizer for the farm. They would cost fc but there would be other ways of getting them, more on that in a minute. What the fertilizers could do is this.
Take time off of growing anywhere from 1 hour to instant growth.
Unspoil on a crop that way if you miss getting a crop you could bring it back to life. I don't know if this is possible but it would only work for the top layer if a farm is layered.
Add a percent of mastery for the belt system, though as easy as the belts are this wouldn't be much help to older players.
How it could work is this the fertilizer cost fc that way people are not using tons of it or if they are they are spending real money or doing offers to get it that way the devs make some money off of it. Other ways to get is is to redo the lottery system and change it to a rewards system where you get the following depending on the day in a row you play.
Day one you get coins.
Day two you get 1000 of a crop that is needed a lot like rice, wheat, potatoes, or corn but not limited to those options.
Day three you get another 1000 crops like before.
Day four you get 500 of a cash fish like cod, salmon, or lobster to use in facilities.
Day five you get an ingredient that is needed a lot like cheese, canned tuna, or something that is used in other facilities, fuel could be an option here as well.
Day six you get one of the special fertilizers to use in the farm and could send 1 to six different neighbors.
Day seven you get 1 fc.
This would let people get a break form unexpected stuff coming up but at the same time not let it be common place because you buy it with coins. It could also help when you have a new facility come out that uses a longer term crop like we had with the last facility you don't have to wait 3 or more days to get the crop you need for the new facility. I think it could also help keep players because they would get a little free fc not so much that it will negate buying it but there is that added reward for not skipping a day playing the game.

I dont know how you can be short of crops with all the freebies you can get from the belt system.. I have so much that I go to empty my stocks by going to the Sellers market. Unfortunately not many visit there anymore because they can get all they need from all the freebies
If you short work your fiends facilities. I do it to top up my stocks or ask them to send back to you.

I appreciated your thoughts and reasoning. I thought long and hard about this idea that why I also suggested 2 Levels.. for players like you that want to keep playing the game as you are... the second layer are for players that need more stimulation.
There many parts of the game many players don't like - introduction of alcohol and naming of drinks (Sex on the beach) belt system etc but players still play on.
My suggestion and idea is giving each player the option without restricting each other.

What I have suggested in the past and I think could be good for the game is some different kinds of fertilizer for the farm. They would cost fc but there would be other ways of getting them, more on that in a minute. What the fertilizers could do is this.
Take time off of growing anywhere from 1 hour to instant growth.
Unspoil on a crop that way if you miss getting a crop you could bring it back to life. I don't know if this is possible but it would only work for the top layer if a farm is layered.
Add a percent of mastery for the belt system, though as easy as the belts are this wouldn't be much help to older players.

I said it before I believe that the sell and buy market is failing for 2 reason The belt system are getting product which is sometimes greater than the limit at the market and its free
Another reason is that the time limit and quantity we allowed to trade. Delv have not realised not everyone on the same time zone. When I play farmtown.. most of my Aussies friends are at work The USA friends are asleep and Euro is just waking up.. When I go to the market I be lucky to see 3 people.
The only crop I used to have problems with was wheat .. but I now on top of it because I ensure that there are two farms out of 9 farms are growing wheat at one time.. I have more then enough now that I was trying to sell the access at the market.. but no luck as there is no one to buy...
I wish we had trading centre warehouse where we can post what we selling and others can purchase while we not there.. I even pay cash to have this ability.

Sorry to disagree but I think to charge FC for something like this would cause such a virtual riot on here. I believe the Devs could get away with releasing a premium item that would hasten the crop to harvest, or unwither crops, but to do on a "per use" scheme really would be nothing short of FT murder!! Much of what you have described is way too similiar to FV and much of what people hated about that game.. so why bring it in to FT? Just my thoughts though!

Here's an idea to make the devs tear out their hair...... levels of difficulty.
Stage I - about the same when we started and all one could do was plant, harvest, plow, repeat, gather animals, create a farm. (I bet newbies are overwhelmed by seeing all at once what it took years for the rest of us to get.)
Stage II - Facilities and tools become available
Stage III - Once a player is way up there, the time has come for the player to decide: add weather and other menaces (pay taxes - lose 50,000 coins per farm), more risk, more reward, more difficult levels. Or play as we have been, no risk, no waking up to ruin. Opportunity to switch for a change offered perhaps on a monthly basis.
I recall when I started playing trying so hard to advance because some items became available at higher levels. This aspect could be added back in by offering paths of the game.
I am NOT a programmer - I don't know how ridiculous this is, but I offer it. Happy farming!

i just do not want to see this game become like farm ville where you can unwither your crops that is one reason i stop playing that game.
It would not be terrible to be able to freeze a crop. Not everyone has a lifestyle that allows for all day playtime, or even regular playtime. I am only suggesting a solution that will help keep people playing.
There are other options to freezing. How about we pay different amounts to allow any crop that is less than 1 day to mature to be any time frame. If it costs 15 coins to plant a square of raspberries with a 2 hour grow time, how about 45 coins to extend the time to 4 hours, 80 coins to extend to 8 hours, and so forth.
I do not believe that unwithering a crop should be allowed, and that is why I made the suggestion to allow special seeds with a temporary freeze feature. Farmville, as well as all the other 'ville games suck. You can't do anything without having to get your friends involved. At least with Farmtown, you can choose to invite your friends to work in your facilities, but it isn't necessary.

Having it cost fc makes it to where people can't get those options without spending money on the game and means they will not be using it that often because they will want to save it for when they really need it. Making it cost coins means people would buy the special fertilizers and plant and harvest all day long even if you make the fertilizers cost a lot of coins that means nothing, just look at the land cost that has not slowed down people one bit. Also in my suggestion there are ways to get the special fertilizers without spending fc so people will still get some to use when it is really needed but they will not have unlimited supplies of them so they can go in and grow 50,000 of all the crops in a day or two. That would completely change the dynamics of the game.

I know people complained about belt posts every 3 hours and the crop limit not being enough but honestly this 12 hour limit on the ingredients and belts is driving me and my neighbours nuts. Who is around for the other 12 hour time on the clock! Basically this now means we get one stab at it every day!
And the 1000 items per 12 hours on the buying/selling is not enough - the market place is full of sellers because we have all maxed out on our limits!
I absolutely agree with you! I thought the whole idea of changing things was to lower the number of posts on our walls because people were complaining, BUT instead we get a whole lot of posts that we cannot click! If someone actually gets a chance to post twice per day, we can get up to 20 posts from that person, BUT we can ONLY CLICK 4 of those posts at the very most. It makes no sense that the number of posts was increased and the number of times we can click was decreased. I understand that the bonus posts are temporary but the ingredients posts aren't so it would be really nice for it to be changed back to 3 hours. I'd like to help my friends more than once with ingredients and it helps me, too. I was doing a lot better being able to fill my factories when the ingredients were every 3 hours. Now it's impossible and FRUSTRATING!
I also agree about the 1000 items buy limit needing to be increased or possibly just change the time on that too. It would be nice to be able to help my friends out with more than 1000 items or to be able to sell to them again in a few hours.
Basically as you said with a 12 hour limit we only get one shot.

I suggested a year or two before, before we have a mega updates for facilities and only had farms to make this Farmtown more realistic.
My suggestion was to add weather to the game (random of course because this will increase the need to buy and sell as some farms may have bad weather for few weeks ) We would have a daily forcast weather report for the next 7 day and depending on the weather if you could seed or harvest.
The weather report could be either symbols under the fuel tank icon or in preferences.
Eg If you sow one day and your crop is due when heavy rain is forecast that you only receive 75% of crop. or if you seed say a 3 day crop and the next 3 days is sunny that your crop yield increases to 130%
And if you get a weather report of a hurricane that any crops needing on that day will suffer loss of their crop.. but you can still sow and plow on that day.
That would make Farmtown more challenging.
here are some other ideas eg.
Cold snap - Fruit Trees 20% loss of harvest
Heavy Rain - loss of 25% of harvest
heat wave - Certain crops loss of 25% - cucumbers, squash - plants that affect by heat
Hurricane / tornado (rarely) - loss of crop or up to 50%
Snow - depending of the crop - loss of crop or up to 50%
Sunny Days - for crops 2 days or more increase harvest by 10% per day.
programing would not be hard - if then statement
yield =harvest yield x type of harvest divide or multiply weather factor.
I feel this would make the game more interesting and could to lead to other ideas. ( I have many more if this was to happen)
Also Farm town should have two levels..for this to happen
Level 1 farms to continue playing the game as they are now
Level 2 (more experience players) for the farmers that want the real experience - reward would be maybe double - Farmtown cash for each level . greater exp points etc.
i don't like this idea either ..... just saying ....

Awwwww - don't pick on the poor little horses, they are VERY cute and they fit in with all the other cartoonish animals :D I love them just the way they are. I would however, love to see some different varieties of animals. Would very much like to see a big clydesdale/draft horse to pull plows around the more old fashioned farms. That would look awesome to have a team of drafties on my farm.

it is a level playing field if you want a combine then you pay for it like the rest of us did. They are not going to give premium tools for coins which is quite fair. And 1fc free per level is more then they have to give.

Premium items are paid for with farm cash and you said to charge farm cash for something like this would be wrong. If you do not pay for it with farm cash or coins how are people going to buy fertilizer that can shorten crop growth or bring crops back to life. If you are talking about something like the manure spreader that once paid for with fc we can get the stuff for it with coins or from an animal, read my other post. While I understand the need and agree there is a need for something like this in the game it shouldn't be something that is common place that would change the dynamics of the game too much. Something like this should only be used when we really need it if you can't wait 4 days on a crop then maybe this is not the game for you.

I really like this idea. While I'm not needing to buy any crop right now since the belts are giving me more than I need, I could definitely see how it would help others and it would be a fun reason to go to a neighbor's farm. The devs could add the functionality to the existing general store in the buildings sections of the store.
Yes I agree, I bought the General Store some time back in hopes that there might be this kind of need for it. Don't have it on a field but still hanging on to it. You never know. :)

No offense but I don't like this idea at all. We all come to farm town to escape reality in some form (if we didn't, no one would be here). I've been through enough storms...cleaning up real messes from hurricanes and tornadoes, I don't need them being on my game too.
I am mixed on the idea. If they were to have such a think it would need to be an option that you could turn on or off kind of like the original SimCity came.

Like your ideas.. sorry I missed them when you posted them... by luck was looking for a posting when I came across yours..
Keep them coming.. The game as you said can stay the same or switching on and off difficulties. My friend had an idea to have Farmtown 2 for the real experts and challenging players.
Today I thought of Farmtown 2 and ways that that game could be played where Dev will earn more Farmtown Cash and we get a game to challenge us more for those who want it.

I have both myspace & facebook Farm town & I am very upset that none of the new releases ever work on myspace!!! where do I go to get the developers attention to this problem? On myspace we cannot exchange our gifts for what we need!! Now we do not get the belt bonuses!! Plz someone help the MYSPACERS!!
The ultimate fix for this is to have a gift token system and a gift shoppe thats located in the markets people could send tokens and collect tokens and just go to the gift shoppe to redeem them for whatever item/s in the amount that they really need ....i did suggest this in the sugeestions forum but no one seemed to have read / commented on it maybe if i keep talking about it someone will comment and maybe it will reach the ears of Sir Raul

The ultimate fix for this is to have a gift token system and a gift shoppe thats located in the markets people could send tokens and collect tokens and just go to the gift shoppe to redeem them for whatever item/s in the amount that they really need ....i did suggest this in the sugeestions forum but no one seemed to have read / commented on it maybe if i keep talking about it someone will comment and maybe it will reach the ears of Sir Raul

Didn't they JUST release the combine harvest/plow? Now ANOTHER 45 FC for a new combine? That's a bit disturbing.
