Cute, Hornyroo!!! I hope all the new stuff starts early tomorrow, tired of waiting. I hope it is well worth the wait. I love Farm Town!!!! I have been farming for a long time. It does get frustrating from all the waiting, but the Devs are wonderful to listen to us about what we want and ALL the complaining too. Night, looking forward to a busy farming weekend!!!

Yes it is disappointing when the release on the 1st was nothing short of a huge money grab, this has already been established, so it really wasnt much of a release at all.. and now its been over a week and still nothing and no word. Thats what really is annoying and what people find arrogant. You cant tell me that with these mods who are also developers in this game, dont know whats going on or when something is going to happen. Its making the game quite a bore now which has been a common comment in this thread.. i agree with them. Dont hold ya breath people.. doubt we will see anything this weekend! :mad:

We have just finished the current week and now we are starting the next week:

Fri Jun 1 - New Release

Fri Jun 1 to Thu Jun 7 = Current week or this week.

Fri Jun 8 to Thu Jun 14 = Next week.

So if they was going to add the items from the 1st to the 7th they would have said coming this week, instead they said next week which started on the 8th.

But if you go with Sun to Sat being the week than it would seem that:

Sun Jun 3 to Sat Jun 9 = Current week or this week.
Sun Jun 10 to Sat Jun 16 = Next week.

Either way next week has either just started or hasn't started yet. This is just the way I see it, others may have a different opinion then what was stated above.

The moderators are just volunteers who monitor the forums and do Slashkey's customer service for them. I would agree, though, that I think they should be better informed by Slashkey since the mods really are the link between SK and the players. I hope they are compensated with FC or something because they spend a lot of time in here and I think Slashkey takes advantage of their generosity if they do not compensate them in some way.

The moderators have no idea when the new releases come and they are completely separate from the developers. In fact, I'm not convinced there is more than just Raul running the show.

I just noticed something. I was watering my flowers after I harvested them and they didn't automatically regrow again. This is new, or at least I hadn't noticed it doing that the last time I watered a few days ago. I think they fixed that glitch. Maybe the rest of the update will follow closely behind. One can hope.

I thought for sure they could have rolled out a few Fathers Day decorations. This is a disappointment. Really how many more facilities do we really need?!? This game is kept fresh for me because of decorating. I do the farming and the facilities to make the money and the experience points that are necessary but it is NOT what keeps me with Farm Town. :(

Well today since there is no new release, I am going to go to a thai web page and look for their food, and see what they cook with that we don't have, and maybe I can figure out what kind of crops is coming besides the lemon grass or if we have any of the ingredients and start planning.... does that sound like a good plan? Of course, it doesn't say that they will cook with the same ingredients as the real thai cuisine, their chef may be an american chef and then we get "thai-am" cuisine. ;-)

The trains - for now - are simply decoration. So for those who like to design and decorate, they should enjoy the trains and tracks..... and await the time when they can be faced four or more different ways.

The Freight Trains are supposed to be the tool/facility/enhancement that we can use to increase the quantity of products we normally run short of.

Now that leaves a LOT of room for imagination, which is all we have at this time.

The Freight Trains could :
1] be similar to the Semi-Trucks
2] be workable by others as current facilities are
3] be available for coin and/or farm cash
4] be multiple items, each with a different category of products
5] be items that will inter-mingle with neighbors farms
6] be released in intervals if there are more than one type

and

7] could be released shortly, or not until the devs thinks that they will cause little or no glitches and problems.

we really can only anticipate "something new"....

Mine game has been running slow to save, which is slowing doing anything on the farm slow doing since yesterday evening, so is my hubby's farm also. Get time outs. Took me twice as long to load my facilities last night. Took me twice as long to harvest my trees and water my hubby's flowers. Ok, Grumpa, since Raul is still out there with the aliens, I made research on Thai food, and here it goes:

1. Lots of coconut trees to make coconut milk, coconut vinegar and coconut sugar.
2. Lots of Peanuts
3. Tamarind (this is where the Tamarind trees we've been having for ages come to play)
4. Chilies (lots of chilies)
5. Rice noodles, cellophane noodles, etc
6. Ginger
7. Coriander
8. Soy beans
9. Shallots
10. Acacia leaves
11. Soy Sauce
12. Durion tree
13. Eggplant
14. Mushrooms (all kinds)
15. Bean Sprouts
16. Oyster Sauce (made with the oyster from the fish farm) & several fish sauces from lobsters, etc.
17. Kaffir lime leaves (?)
18. Lots of chicken, fish and different vegetables dishes
20. Fruits: papaya, mango, apples, oranges, strawberries

There you have it, we may have to use them all or we may not if it is an america-nized version of Thai, but those are the things they use the most. So for sure start with those tamarind trees, and plant rice, chilies, ginger, mushrooms, and all the others.

A baseball bat , a tool box, a basketball, a smaller scale race car.....and a few other bits for Father's Day....Obviously the facilities are not released yet. Sure, the train will come out sometime "tomorrow", but the original post in this thread also mentioned 4 facilities, a crop and a tree. Raul mentioned none of these in the edited first post. We just released a new version of the game with the following features and bug fixes:

1. Signs: 20 Signs are now available as part of the "Others" category in the Store, including farming signs like "Crops" or "Trees" and traffic signs.

2. 30 x 30 Farm Expansions for farms 6 - 10: Here are the prices -> 4,000,000,000 Coins or 30 FarmCash.

3. Belts and Dans for Facility Products: The next 10 Facilities (in order of appearance in the Store) now have Belts and Dans enabled for each product. With each Belt or Dan you achieve you will increase your chances of getting a "free" Batch automatically for every Batch you start from that point on.

Free Batches means that a new Batch is sent to production without consuming any ingredients or coins. See December 30th Release Post for the benefit % table.

4. 6x6 tools: Harvester, Seeder, Plower, Harvest-Plow Combine and Harvest-Plant Combine are now available in 6x6 mode, this will allow you to perform farming operations over 36 fields at a time.

Notice that all the combines (the 5x5 and the 6x6) are now on a separate column in the Extended Toolbar)

5. Latest flowers highlight fix: You can now mouse over the latest released flowers and highlight them as easy as the other flowers, this will make harvesting easier.

6. Pizza Rush Minigame: This was pending from last release. It's a memory enhancing minigame with Practice and Multiplayer support already enabled. As usual, you have 3 stages and you can go into Practice mode to play each of the stages and improve personal records or you have the option to play multiplayer with all your friends currently in the farm, in this case, the user who finish all the 3 stages first win.

The Goal of this minigame is to make pizzas for your customers with the right ingredients.

We will start offering coins or ingredient prizes in the next couple of releases.

7. Trains: We will launch the Freight Trains next week, in the meantime there is a new Modern Passenger Locomotive and Wagon in the Motion Cagetogy in the Store.

8. Cashew Tree and Lemongrass Crop (Coming Next Week): To be used in the Thai Restaurant.

9. Plant Milk Factory (coins), Thai Restaurant (coins), Board Games Factory (FC), Nursing Home (FC) (Coming Next Week).

Farm 15 and new levels coming in the next release.

I really think they are having a rough time trying to hire that Thai Chef for the restaurant. The Chef has to give the menu s/he will serve in the restaurant, so until they are hired the restaurant will remain closed. :(

Now on the aspect of "tomorrow" let's hope they don't go by the old saying "Tomorrow never comes" ... :p ... and if we go by the FT time, the week was up days ago - remember farmers 20 hrs equals a FT day, which I could never figure out properly. :confused:

Still having problems with freezing flowers. I just tried freezing a cornflower & an orange lily which were nearly fully grown, when I reloaded the farm they were green with no colour so then I unfroze them and after reloading the farm again they had reverted back to taking 3.3 days to grow! This problem has been ongoing for a very long time. There are some flowers I prefer the look of before they are fully grown (the Wild Mix & the yellow & white lilies) but freezing them doesn't stop them at that time of growth, it takes them backwards to an earlier time and they are barely just starting to flower. Anyone else have this problem?

Sorrry theperfectnina, you're just going to have to be patient like the rest of us. The devs, and only the devs know when it will be out, and I suspect they can't set minute and second either because they may have problems with the roll out.

Poor devs will be shot down either way. If it's late out there will be complaints, and if they put it out and then glitches start happening on our farms, there will be even more complaints :rolleyes:

How long will the newest mobile sprinkler extend the crops from going to waste? Everywhere I see it mentioned just says it's extended, not how long. It's spendy after buying all the others to add yet another without knowing if it's worth it to me.

I'm probably just slow and everyone else has already pointed this out - but those hover messages - at first I thought we were just getting two different font sizes but I just discovered that even the messages are different. My chicken coops - the large font size message says they're ready to be harvested. The smaller font says they still have 38 minutes. The smaller size seems correct - or at least it corresponds to the Facility Manager tool, which is saying that the coops aren't ready yet.

Sooooo excited about the new freight train! Can hardly wait!

Right now I'd settle for being able to farm at a decent speed without crashes and all. Having issues with crops highlighting correctly thus taking longer to harvest. While I agree that the dev's do a great job and these releases aren't easy I do not like hearing a release will be a certain day only to find out it's really weeks later.

I worked in state government testing computer changes such as the FT releases only it was state related. We had deadlines and we had to keep to them - bugs or no bugs. In testing you find a lot of bugs but never will you find them all. Personally I'd rather have the release with some bugs than play the waiting game for weeks. Maybe they can just combine June and July releases and call it a day

I love, love, love my Farm Town! It took me a few years of playing before I would spend 'real' money. I had reached the point where I was going to have quit playing due to the length of time it took to care for my farms or take the plunge and spend a little cash. So I did. It took a long time to get all the tools only to now see the greed. Someone mentioned earlier that we should be able to 'trade' our current tools towards at least a portion of the price of the new, more powerful tools. I agree.

Also, while I know the devs work very hard, what's the point of a new release that truly doesn't have anything new to offer at the moment? We might get the freight train today as well as the trees, but the facilities will be another 3 or 4 days? Really?? Why not just wait another week or two for the new release if it's not ready? Seems more logical to me.

I have to agree also that the Father's Day gifts are a little disappointing. I don't really get into the holiday gifts that much except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but a few banners and a basket are a disappointment to all the Dads out there I'm sure.

I will continue to enjoy Farm Town and appreciate all the hard work of the devs. I just wanted to express my own opinion on the current release. If they don't know, they can't fix it.

Yep... as good as they are with the coding etc, they are poor in some areas of design and item-creativity.

I would have suggested (had I been involved) that father's day items include

A hunting blind to go with the camouflage truck.

A special duck pond for hunting maybe

An dog for dad.... perhaps in the hunting theme also

A speedboat or fishing boat or catamaran

A really neat BBQ... Big... with 80 lbs of ribs

Welcome to the real world... I used to collect the Christmas Houses made by Dept 56 (in fact they are all still on a warehouse), and they never got it right with scaling people to buildings, cars, etc., and each and everyone of those houses and accessories were very expensive. They started at $65 and could go up to $150 for each house, accessories went from $15 to $45 depending on the work. We tried to tell them, had gatherings all over the US and told them and nothing, the designers were different for every theme and they had one scale and that is what they did. We finally decided at time of display, if you had bigger things put them on the back and the smaller ones on the front, or separate them enough that the difference would not be that much. ;-)

Welcome to the real world... I used to collect the Christmas Houses made by Dept 56 (in fact they are all still on a warehouse), and they never got it right with scaling people to buildings, cars, etc., and each and everyone of those houses and accessories were very expensive. They started at $65 and could go up to $150 for each house, accessories went from $15 to $45 depending on the work. We tried to tell them, had gatherings all over the US and told them and nothing, the designers were different for every theme and they had one scale and that is what they did. We finally decided at time of display, if you had bigger things put them on the back and the smaller ones on the front, or separate them enough that the difference would not be that much. ;-)

I had to reload the game after I placed the factories on the farm that the box cars required, then I was able to buy them. I must say, I was hoping that we would get to choose the products we wanted to bring to our farms from the market. There is only 1 item in the three available cars that I need on a regular basis. It is the paper rolls; I have one facility on each farm, but seem to run out if I post my facilities, and don't work several other farms, and request ingredients, I can get enough. So at least, with one box car, I can get paper rolls every 7 days....

I wonder if they will be workable, in the future, by our neighbors?!?

Currently, only one Locomotive across ALL your farms can be carrying products at any given time. In other words, you can build several trains but you can't dispatch one until the other one returns.

Currently, only one Long Freight Car of each type per train can be carrying products. That is to say, you can have all 3 Long Freight Cars coupled to a train (the Container, the One-Door and the Two-Door cars) and they will all carry products, but if you purchase another Long Freight Car and couple it to that train it will not carry any additional products at this time.

"My" understanding is that once you buy the cars, they can be moved to any farm ans work as intended. The requirement listed is only to purchase the train not operate it.

The loco also has to be on the farm you want to buy the boxcar on, but then they can all be stored and put on the farm you wanted. All ready accomplished on my wife's farm by moving the loco to get 3rd car, then moving them both back.

What are the quantities of these items that can be bought with freight cars. IN the Long 2 door box car it says 168 x Paper Roll. Is that what we will get after 7 days ? 168 Paper Rolls. Or is there some other calculation.

Hope they come out with Freight Cars carrying Minerals soon, as the current freight cars are of no use to me as I have sufficient production of the items.

I'm lost. Right now I only have trains on one farm - so that means I'd either have to put the Oil Refinery, Stone Windmill and Ink & Pigments Factory in storage or on my train farm, right? And if I buy all 3 boxcars, I can still only use one at a time, right? One week for Stone Windmill, one week for Oil Refinery, etc?

But the part I really don't get is - what do they do? Say the Stone Windmill one - does that mean that I load my Stone Windmill like always, then I send my train out so I don't have to use my Facilities Manager to store the flour for 7 days? What if my neighbors work my facilites so much that all the flour is processed before the 7 days is up. Is the train still out for 7 days? Using the "Store All" button is so easy - I can't imagine why I'd want my train to do that for me, so I'm thinking I must be missing something. Can someone explain?

I also don't like that once you send a train out, it becomes semi-transparent. Being able to design my farms to look a certain way is most of why I love this game and I think a semi-transparent boxcar is going to make me nuts. Is it possible to have a different way to display this?

Well something is wrong with my freight train. I got it all hooked up on my Farm #3 ... I hit the "dispatch" and it went translucent ... but when you click on the Locomotive and then click "show train details" - it shows the following now on each one of the Boxcars - "Carrying - 0" "To Load (gives diff number for each boxcar)" "To Go: 140 markets 7 Days" ... I don't understand? Where is the amount each one is carrying? Does this go the opposite that the Semi-Truck does? Just wondering, I'm confused. :confused:

I do agree that the products listed are not the ones I run out of either!! I need the metals!!! But does this mean that the products listed are in addition to the products pending in the facility itself???

I just sent the flour, corn flour and coffee car on its way. If I'm right, what I see the advantage of this is I can get the above products without having to plant, harvest and mill wheat, corn or coffee. I also don't have to have the required facilities on a farm, I can keep one in storage and save space. I hope they add sugar to this car, it would be nice to take a few of the sugar factories off my farms and not have to plant sugar cane constantly.

I think I am going to sleep on this one - I cant buy the Long one -door box car because I dont have the stone windmill on my current farm (6 most of the facilities) - no its on Farm 1 - and I cant move it because I have entered the best farm comp - and I cant put the freight train on there for the same reason.
Also I dont want to move it - it looks great on my Kentish Hop Farm! i dont really want to buy another either! Ditto the oil refinery on another farm. Hey maybe you could give us an "inert" stone windmill that isnt a facility???
But I relish the challenge devs - and I am going to enjoy working this out. Can see now why the new Facs are best left for a few days to let us all get used to this and see if there are any probs. Thanks for all your hard work.

Glad the trains are out. Hope lots of people enjoy them. They way my farms are set up, im not really in need of more of the things that the trains will haul/bring/produce. But its a novel concept. Shows FT is always moving forward. One thing that has been a huge disapointment is the last expansions. Way to expensive and you can not plant trees or flowers near the left edge of the field, or else a lot of your plowed squares disappear. The thing is, you need THAT space for trees/ flowers your short on. So no more expansions for me. Can't wait for farm 15 and still enjoy the game as much as I did way back when. Everyone have a safe 4th of July.

The requirements are only to buy it plus having the loco on the farm (maybe storage but unconfirmed). Once you own the cars you can put them on any farm you want, even if there are none of the "supported" facilities. The train will still be allowed to operate. Proven on wife's farm.

Currently there are one Standard Freight Locomotive and 6 Freight Cars. The regular freight cars are just decoration items and don't provide any functionality. The Long Freight Cars are the ones who can be dispatched with a train to bring you products across all the markets. To check the products and quantity that each Long Freight Car can carry, click the help button in the Store.

To prepare your train for dispatch you need to have at least one Long Freight Car coupled to the Freight Locomotive. Place the Long Freight Car right behind the Locomotive without any space between them. If you mouse over the Locomotive all Freight Cars (including short and long cars) correctly coupled together will be highlighted.

To manage your train click the Locomotive and select 'Show Train Details'. The Long Freight Cars that are correctly coupled to your Locomotive will be highlighted in white. The ones that you don't own or that are not correctly coupled will appear disabled.

To dispatch your train click the 'Dispatch Train' button. Only the Freight Cars correctly coupled to your train will be dispatched to carry goods. Once you dispatch a train it will be locked and will appear semi-transparent in your farm until it returns. The Standard Freight Locomotive completes the trip across all markets in 7 days.

To check the progress of your train click on the 'Train Status' tab. You'll see how many units are being carried and how many are pending to load. The progress bar indicates the progress of the train across all the markets.

As soon as the train visits all the markets and returns to your farm, you can click the 'Unload Train' button to move all products to your Storage. At this point your train will be fully visible again so you can add or remove cars for the next dispatch.

Currently, only one Locomotive across all your farms can be carrying products at any given time. In other words, you can build several trains but you can't dispatch one until the other one returns.

Currently, only one Long Freight Car of each type per train can be carrying products. That is to say, you can have all 3 Long Freight Cars coupled to a train (the Container, the One-Door and the Two-Door cars) and they will all carry products, but if you purchase another Long Freight Car and couple it to that train it will not carry any additional products at this time.

The products that each Freight Car carries will cost you coins and 420 fuel.

Once you purchase any Long Freight Car you can move it to any other farm, the facility requirement in the Store is only needed at purchase time.

hahahahaha!!! Yipee we get to boost trains(cant wait for it to befinished). My freight train is up ready and on its way to gather products. Really looking forward to a freight car that will gather Wool,horse hair, eggs and milk... oh yeah.. Cotton too.
What "Boost Feature" are you talking about? I don't see anything in the release notes about any boost.

I am going to have to buy credits so before I do am I reading this right.

You have to have the locomotive and all three cars.

If my windmill and ink factory are on farm 6 I buy the loco and those cars and place them there. Refresh and I can add them to store. Then go to farm 5 take them all out and buy the car for the oil refinery, put them all in storage, refresh, and T
