So it didn't actually get sold because that bait would already be added to your water features. This is a glitch that it shows there but is not actually sold.

Tried out that theory and "sold" half of my remaining freshwater bait from my storage - and I earned 27,500 coins from the sale to Tom. My coin count before was 1,536,501,800, and 1,536,529,300 after the sale.

The bait was originally gifted but went immediately to my storage - it was never added to my bait count for fishing. (I ran my bait counter to "0" and yet had 11,000 in storage when I first noticed it.)

it prob was added to your bait count but does not go from your storage once used
