Thx...had no idea how to use the lifeline...then went back and looked and found a life preserver on the area of quests...I will make it just under the wire for this one. Have 7 hrs. left and need 2 more after hit life vest and went back to do a neighbors facil. Now all have left is two hours and the quest will be done...Live and learn.
The Game Guide has a good chapter (29) about how the quests and lifelines work that might help you to understand what each lifeline does for you. Here is a link to it:

Hi!
I distinctly remember when Slash Key said at the start of the Quests, that one someday could get Farm Cash for completing some quest or other however not all quests. Will that be three years or just two years down the road? Just wondering.

Hi ,
I've moved your post into feedback for quests. I'm sorry but we do not have that information at this time.

so far i have had no luck with the quests. I tried the first one and it wanted me do something with a facility that cost "real money" and therefore I dont have. Same with the second quest. I play farm town because it is something that fits in my budget. I can not affort to purchase anything that costs real money. Why does the game give me quests that I can not finish. Getting frustrated and I only just started trying quests.

The quests you get are random and not dependent on wheteher you have a particular facility or not.
We do have Life Lines to help with the quests that can be used for all but the last step. If you haven't read through it there is a chapter in the Game Guide that does explain the quests fairly well. Here is a link to that chapter:

Taz, you have helped me with some problems. I know you aren't an administrator, but wish you had some "pull" with them. I have done many quests and get a great deal of pride in doing them very fast. In fact, I have a quest farm to help me complete them rapidly.
It is discouraging when I have 5-6 quests in a row that I can not complete because I do not have the facilities needed. It would be helpful if we accepted the quest AFTER we saw what it was. If we didn't have the facilities (and the lifelines don't help every situation in the steps), we could Pass on the quest and open another one. I understand that some farmers might pass on the smaller ones and go through several before they got a "biggie" more challenging quest that they want. That's easily solved. Just let us pass on only one or two quests that we can't do.
I have another suggestion that would be so very easy to fix. If the quest requires loading into a Service Facility, put a small picture of the facility on that step so you would know at the beginning where it would go. I have gotten a complex quest ready to load only to find that there are more than one Service Facility that uses that product and I don't have the one in the quest. Yes, I can sell the product I just made, but I do not get any bonus for my quick work and I don't get the satisfaction of a rapid completion.
Thanks for letting me vent. Hopefully a developer will see it and help us out.
Happy Farming!

Hi there,
Whenever you have ideas for the game, they need to be placed in the suggestions area of the forum. That's where the developers will look to see what ideas they like and may want to change/add or improve to the game. There is no guarantee your suggestion will be implemented, but it will be seen by them.
For quests the suggestions thread to post in is.........
http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=469794 If you are going to place a suggestion there please read the 1st post to see if it's already been suggested. Please note comments and replies are not permitted there so you will not receive feedback for your idea there.
Thanks

OK, I just feel I have to say something here. I might have it wrong, and I'm hoping to be shown just that.
I just started doing the quests, and they're great, I've done two, and was just telling a neighbour how great they are, and how it's almost exciting anticipating what the next quest will be.
Then it all came crashing down with a crushing feeling that I've been conned.
Just the third quest in and I get one that requires me to buy a new Factory, one that cost $32fc. Really? Just the third quest in?? Am I going to have to spend my hard earned on a new Factory, every Third Quest???
I'm just gonna forget all about the quests now, that killed them for me.
It's not like I don't like to spend money on this game, I love the game, it's the only game I play. I think the Devs are fantastic, have done fantastic work and deserve to get paid for it. I've probably spent a couple of hundred on the game over the years and it's been worth every cent.
But I like to spend when it's convenient for me, when there are things I really need to enhance my game, and when I have a bit of spare change to spare.
I don't like to be (For want of a better word) pushed, into spending my money on the game, to finish a silly quest in a certain amount of time.
They could have at least given me 10 or 20 quests before hitting me up for money, but the Third Quest??? I couldn't believe it, What a con.

I wish to apologize to the Devs, I did say at the start of my rant that, "I might have it wrong, and I'm hoping to be shown just that." Well I wasn't exactly shown, but I did read through the forum a bit, about the lifelines, and it looks like I can gain my products for this quest by working at a neighbour's farm who is making such items.
So here's hoping I can continue with the quests without being told I need to buy a certain factory or facility to complete it. At least for a few more quests anyway lol.

you don't need to buy a fc facility, you can just let that quest expire...you will get a new one every day...

Thanks Aussie Rae, I thought I might have to wait 5 days, till it expired.
I'd prefer to try and get it done through working for friends even.

Also the quests are random. You might want to read the chapter in the Game Guide that tells about them. Here is a link to that chapter:

I don't do some of my quests because they require farmcash facilities. It just means I won't make 3 or more million extra coins that day. It isn't really a big deal. The worse thing is having that quest that I will never do sitting there. I wish they would let us delete it. Not asking that we can get a new one till our 20 hours is up, just that we could delete unwanted quests especially if we haven't even clicked the lifeline, like the one I have now requires a farmcash service facility to finish so I am 100% sure that I will not be competing this one. Today I did a quest that required me to buy 2 coin facilities that I never purchased cause I wasn't impressed with them. So I bought them both for around 5 million I believe, but I made 11 million on the quest. Now, that is a good days quest! I have had one or more where I didn't cut even by buying the facility and I tend to put the facility into storage after using it for the quest, but it is still a total win in my book. I love the quests. I am disappointed when I can't do a quest, but it certainly wouldn't keep me from starting a new one as soon as I am able to.

Thanks to the fact the the developers don't seem to listen to certain complaints, I have the ongoing issue of quests that I can't or won't do because they require me to spend money I don't have for a facility. I again have to work around several quests, that will be open numerous days, just to complete the one I can. Hello???? Anybody out there???? Give us a way to close a quest we choose not to do!!!!!

Want what I suspect to be the truth? IMHO I seriously doubt will ever happen. Sorry FT but calling it as I see it. Promises and more promises and still after a great many moons have passed and a great many quests completed and many in the same day BTW and STILL no FC reward in sight. Perhaps you should remove that "coming soon" since the word soon does not fit here.
As to the coins earned for quests thanks since I really need them. :)

There was never a "promise" of free farm cash on the quests. The exact statement made was:
" In the future the Mayor might occasionally award you 1 FarmCash and/or ingredients based on your performance in previous Quests"
No "promise" and no "coming soon"

I am about to loose a second quest that required quite a few steps and some time consumed and it is lost because I cannot get poker chips via trading....and before I realized that it would not matter anyway I went to market to stand and wait with my request of what I needed...yeah right, folks not bothered. Maybe another way, and after all the using of the time and that last step punishes us because we do not own a facility that requires we use farm cash. I feel like those quests are doing just that, punishment because we did not spend our money to buy a facility, or should say to buy farm cash to buy a facility. I spent some of my hard earned money for some of your things by the way, so am not putting down the bread and butter you need for your table and operation. Just do not think while playing the game we need extra punishments by not having those things...should suffice we do without the bigger coin values made by farm cash facils.

I would like to know when or if there will ever be a reward for farm cash for quest in the post by toni it suggest there will be a possible reward. so when will they either remove this or release this part of the game?
from toni's page i copied
The prize in coins will be higher depending on:
a) How fast the Quest was completed
b) The complexity of the Quest (amount of Quest Steps)
c) User Level
- In the future the Mayor might occasionally award you 1 FarmCash and/or ingredients based on your performance in previous Quests
note in future implies there will be another part to this part of the game. in game it states farm cash reward coming soon.
would like a answer if possible an answer from one of slashkey four persons answering this issue. thanks kountry girl

Thanks for the answer which says they dont answer or work to answer questions on their own behalf. would be nice to have a answer which comes from those who post or want you to post in forum who actually create the game. other wise what good is this area to post to asked them questions. I think I will not be doing quest once i have finished the one resently working on. will stick to the inside of the game as was doing before. that includes total quest, mini games and bonuses as well. that way there is no confussion for my part of figure there will be something rewarded for my time. only to see the reward go out the window. thanks any how

Hopefully this will be something the powers that be will allow us to delete if we don't chose to do that quest OR don't have the facility to do the quest...I've suggested it before. For example, I had to see the funeral spray in my quest for a week as I am not keen nor do I own on that facility.

@goofyshoes: Don't you go and count on anything happening. Most of the posts I've made on the forum have had to do with the stupid fact that, if we choose to do open a quest, and it's one we can't complete, we'll be forced to look at it for eternity (or when it ends, whichever comes first). Many have complained or a fairly long period of time now, and it's all fallen on deaf ears.

Sorry but I don't think it will ever happen, just as the request that's been made over and over again for a way to close a quest we can't do. Slash is in this to make money therefore if perchance a quest the computer chooses for us is one that requires FC facilities and we don't have it we may be tempted to purchase it. For this reason I seriously doubt things will change for quests.
As to the "promise", read it again...legally Slash made no promise since they used the word may.
On these 2 issues as well as the requests many of us have made about the leveling FC being enough to actually purchase something. Never going to happen. Trust me if it was ever decided to do any of the above 3 things I'd be a VERY happy camper. Oops I mean farmer.

Obviously some of the people such as Tony D work for Slash in come capacity. IT's the contributors who try to answer our questions when we have problems that volunteer and aren't paid employees. Taz being one of them.
The wording that has been on our reward page of the quests has been there for quite some time.....I think if memory serves me it's actually been there since the first quest. The coming soon? Guess that's all a matter of perception of the word soon....however by now I would have expected to at least be rewarded once in a while with products. Shoot can't remember the exact word they used, ingredients? That may happen but the FC reward?? I doubt it. Would love to come on one day, click redeem prize and have to eat my words about the FC.
A few FC would be a great marketing tool since many would spend that $4.99 to add 25 more FC to the few given. But I doubt we'll see it.

Ditto, how long have Quests been going on? I currently have three in mine that I can't/ won't utilize because I don't have the factories. If they can remove the funeral factories from working ones' farm they should be allowed to remove from Quests so I don't have to see it there for a week or more.. just my opinion..

There are 3 different Life Lines which are random just as the quests are. Each one allows you to use different methods to get the items needed. Here is alink to the Game Guide information on them which explains the use of each one:

If you ask for an ingredient request for turpentine then what you will get is the petrochemical barrel to make the turpentine. To get turpentine itself you need to ask for ingredients to make something like rubber.

i think when you asked for the turpentine.. the gifts that will go to your gift box are the ingredients for it not the turpentine itself... try to post for the boots.. it might sent you the ingredients for it and turpentine included.. just a thought :)

That will not work as the turpentine is needed to make the rubber for the boots and not for making the boots themselves. The ingredients request will only give you the items you see listed in the green question mark for that item.

I know the lifelines are supposed to help. I used the lifeline a couple times and they did. This one I have now proves useless to me...and it goes with being punished for not having facilities that cost farm cash. It is the NEXT to last part of this quest and it wants me to make a curry comb in the farm stable or what ever facil that is...so I hit the quest life line thinking I will get the goods by working on a person facils and then I can after getting it do the last one but no, this one shows get the ingredients by a gift...I can make all the ingredients, just cannot make the currycomb. I mean to say I have the darned ingredients...they are useless in this, and here I am the next to the last of a several step more compicated quest and it was a waste of my time. First time you fool me, shame on you, second time you fool me, shame on me. :(

The lifelines are random just as the quests are. Sometimes you get what works for the quest in your own situation and sometimes you don't.

As I was working on a quest last night, I found myself wishing that I could simply click on the facility shown in each step of a quest and be taken immediately to that facility to start the item.
I realize that this would require a re-working of all the links, but it sure would make quests a whole lot easier! Perhaps a green question mark could be added to maintain the link to the help file?
Just in case the devs find themselves with some free time ....

While that would be a nice feature to have someday sure hope isn't added now. We have so many great new features now but with each addition there've been glitches to be worked out. For every glitch I see the game becoming slower and slower as the devs work to fix those glitches.
I'd really like someday to see something like you have here but let's see it in the future, please? When the glitches still within game now are all worked out?
Oh ya, would be lovely to have,........ someday! :D

I had a similar problem to youngmeme. I had the final fac but wanted a spray of lilies so planted and harvested the lilies and hoped to work for the spray but received the Trader lifeline. I think this one is the worst of all. You can do nothing with it if the goods need to come from a fac.
Apart from that little moan, I love the quests and do them as often as I can.

I agree with you. I have no problem with the quests set up like they are. If I have the facilities needed for a quest, good for me!! if not, i let it expire and go to the next quest the next day... I look at the quests as bonuses and fun.

So, many have suggested, complained, whatever, to do something about quests that a player can't do for one reason for another. Seems all this has fallen on deaf ears with the devs. Probably because it helps them sell a facility now and then. But it still is ridiculous that, if we like to do quests, we must be forced to work around un-doable ones for days on end.

OK I was a dumb bunny. Been so long since I had the scented candles quest and that one was I had to make the lanterns.
Well received my quest yesterday and never looked at the last thing to do on it, had I I'd have just let it expire. Scented candles again did all without paying attention to last step. Last step is load....I have no intention of ever having the banquet hall so can't complete.
You may ask why don't I want that facility, my reason is this...IMHO I'd be wasting my precious $ on a facility that requires some of the same items another facility does. Already have this problem with 2 facilities so not into the idea of adding a third needing duplicate items. Especially when those items only produce 1 or 2 at a time in the factory. IE: that teddy bear and doll.
Will sit and expire but I do have extra candles! :)
Now on to see what the next quest requires and move on...:D

We have had quests for quite a long time now and the statement that ocassionally we would get Farm cash, which so far had never happened.
Is this going to happen ???? or are we doing things wrong.
Farm town is the only game that I have perservered with.
AS compared to when it first started more help to play the game faster and more efficiently has evolved.
Except for one thing it dosen't take a mathematician to work out the even with 400 levels you are not going to earn enough Farm cash to obtain a lot of the facilities you would like that you have to buy.
You will have to BUY and for a lot of people this is not possible with the economic climate that it is.
Maybe you lower the amount of farm cash to 20 or suchlike to enable more of the facilities to be obtained.
The tool section is astronomical so I wont even go there. You have to buy 4 plowers and 4 harvester before you can consider making a combine.
Slash key got greedy or what, there will always be a rich family that will purchase everything but it leaves the normal folks that have to work and could warrant the tools to make the game faster to save their precious time.
There are thousands that play this game and even if each person just bought 1 facility you are still talking megabucks for the producers.
So come on lets have an incentive. I cant afford to buy any more facilities or tools of which I prefer I am soon to be a pensioner so will have to put up with what I have.

Yes I have never heard of anyone getting cash from quests but it is stated that it might come. You don't mention the gripe of many that you have to buy cows and hens to be able to get any for the Doughnut Shop or ever have enough milk for the Ice Cream factories. Of course with 17 oil pumps pumping that only provides less than 25% for one oil refinery.

My solution to the problem of shortages all the time was to NOT load all my facilities for quite a while. I milked my cows at least twice a day....kept my mines, my pumps, dairy, windmill, and all other facs that I usually ran out of stuff for, running ALL the time. I posted the ones I could and when I got ahead of the need I started loading my other facs again.
I do not load and post every day.....maybe once or twice a week. I have a large amount of milk, oil, minerals, ores, etc.....in the hundreds of thousands and some in them millions. That's in storage.....amd there is still a lot in the in the facilities themselves. I haven't emptied my mines for quite a while now.

The only time I have seen and not gotten FC is when I do not have the facilities to make what is needed to finish the quest. Never have I received any of it. I will work the quest as far as I can just for some thing to do. It helps to keep up your supplies of certain things. But I have never or know of any one who has gotten FC!!! It is frustrating. And because of that one thing I do not play the mini games at all!!!

Not yet, but it does say "Coming soon: The Mayor might occasionally award you 1 FarmCash and/or ingredients based on your performance in previous quests". In my opinion that will be added after the game has been upgraded as far as it can and this will be a way for people to get FC.

I agree with Scawbyville. I so wish there was a way to get more FC without buying it with real cash. I don't have any real cash. I'm 62 and have faithfully play farmtown from the beginning and yes the improvements are amazing. In the past 5 1/2 years, I've been on unemployment for almost 4 years. Before that I had a job where I was making $55,000. Last year I worked full time and made $15,000. My husband and I are just making it with the mortgage etc. Farmtown is basically my savior -- it relaxes me and makes me forget about all my problems. But I can't afford FC - if its a choice - my money would go to feed us. Thanks for listening, Sharon ;)

With the gift life line you can use that with ingredient requests too so maybe it will help that way. What are you needing?

So you find something like yellow ink and click on the plus sign below the question mark and request ingredients to make that. Then you will have those ingredients show up in your gift box and as soon as you store the gift you will have completed that step.

If you do not own a plant facility which uses coins to produce an ingredient, you will not be able to fulfill the quest? Only players who have the facility may produce and use the product? Are we able to acquire it if someone posts on the wall if they reached a higher belt?
I am trying to get the shrimp container that is produced in the seafood plant but I don't have that particular facility. But yet, I have shrimp containers in my storage so I am assuming I acquired them from posts on a wall.
Thanks for any help any one can give.

If you have the gift lifeline then you can request ingredients for a product that uses the shrimp container.
I don't think collecting a belt bonus would work as that doesn't fit any of the lifelines.

The quests here do not require help from neighbors like the Zynga games. You can get some help but you must complete the last step without help. It is your choice to not do them, but I for one enjoy doing them.

the gift lifeline is almost never helpful. the only ones I ever need are help in other people facilities. I can grow anything that is a crop. there really needs to be a way to dismiss a quest when we are unable to fill it. sometimes I get several very long quests that fill the quest queue for days and I can't get a new one.

The quests on FT is not mandatory to play the game, if someone doesn't want to do them they don't have to do them, unlike FV, so there is no problem with keeping the quests.

So, why bother with quests when so many are unachievable? Right now, my lifeline is "trade". Trade what? The silk ties? They cannot be traded as they are manufactured in a facility. I already harvested everything I needed, all I needed was to work in a facility that is a farmcash facility.
Out of the five I had in the past five days: FOUR required work in a farmcash facility. Two ended up having non-usable lifelines; one ended without completion because I didn't bother obtaining a lifeline. So, out of five quests, one was completed without a lifeline, one with, three were not completed.
If it's a glitch, the glitch has been there a very long time.
Make it so lifelines are able to discern how far the quest has gone and what needs to be done. If all crops are harvested, then it should not provide a trader lifeline.

The lifelines are random just as the quests are and neither are chosen based on what facilities or items you need. Life lines cannot be used for the last step
Since the new release the quests have been a joke (Beige Pigment) not worth the time or coins.
I like the long ones that are worth some coins.
What happened to the Farm Cash note on bottom it has been over 2 years since I started doing quests and it STILL say you may earn FC in the Future...what timeframe are you talking about....I hope in my life time..LOL

In my opinion it is for the time that they stop bringing out the levels cause the program is as big as it can get, this way farmers will still be able to get FC that leveling up did. This is just my opinion and not speculation on what is going to happen with the game, of course everyone has to realize there is going to come a time that the game will reach its limit and can't be increased anymore, all programs have their limits.

I agree. They need to come up with other ways for us to get farm cash instead - such as rewarding farm cash for completing quests - or to stop expanding on things by bringing out more factories and services.

Just a question. While doing quests, why would one have to wait three hours for something after it is loaded into a service facility? The product is already complete and is loaded into the store. It should be ready instantly.
If a fast food place ran out of cheeseburgers and new ones were loaded back in, they wouldn't wait three hours to sell it to their customers!! Are ya feelin me??

It takes that long to sell the items in the service facility, even in the real world when a place gets supplies it takes time to sell them to the customers, it is just in this game items like cheeseburgers is made in one place and then sold (which takes time to sell) in another place, this way instead of getting one price for the cheeseburger at the market you can load them into the sports arena and you get more coins for them being sold, but it takes time for the customers to go to the concession stand.

Are you harvesting on your fields or are you using the employee lifeline? You must harvest on your own fields, unless you use the employee lifeline and with the employee lifeline you only get 10% of the crops, so for 1 plot, you would have to harvest 10 of your neighbors crop.

Quest with Employee Lifeline quits giving credit for working facilities and will not recognize product loaded in my facilities
I have to Prod Banana Splits and have employee lifeline. I did all harvest items then started working facilities to get the items that need to be produced .. sugar, strawberry ice cream. was working fine but didn't give me credit for Chocolate Liquor and therefore Chocolate Ice Cream. I checked and I had worked facilities fully loaded with Chocolate Liquor. I tried loading it in my facility and didn't get credit for starting it either. This has happened before and I had to wait a full day before I could do anymore on the quest. Not only does this delay completing the current quest but I will not be able to get a lifeline for tomorrow's quest until this quest is finished. Even if it will finally allow credit for working facilities for the Chocolate Liquor and Chocolate Ice Cream, it will take 3 hours to Produce Banana Splits. (I have cleared/cleaned everything, changed browsers, etc. This has happened to me before and to a neighbor as well.)

I would like to have a way to dismiss quests that i don't have the facilities to complete. At the moment I have 3 pending quests that I can't do, even if I had to pay a penalty of coins, it would be worth it. I have had times when I was working on 2 quests and had 3 I couldn't do, and had to wait until one expired before I could start another one.

No matter what I do, I can't get credit for the petrochemical facility output in my current quest. I have the employee lifeline, but I have worked several neighbor farms with this facility and loaded/worked my own with no credit. In the past I was sometimes able to get around this by switching browsers, but I have tried IE, Firefox and Chrome and cleared my browser and FT cache. No luck.

Hi! lifelines are random. When you get the Employee lifeline, it allows you to work on others farms or facilities to obtain the products you need for your quest, of course not for the last step. You can ask your neighbors if they have for example, the crop you need or if they could fill a facility to let you work it.:)

4 out of the last 8 Quests have required the Personal Care Products facility. This started within a couple of weeks after the release of this factory. I just opened a new Quest this morning and there it is again - Personal Care Products Factory is the end of the run.
Why? It has been rare that the same facility is the end focus of a Quest so frequently. It makes me feel as though this factory didn't sell well and I'm being forced to buy it as I'm a Questie.
I don't own it and don't want to own it. In fact, it's the ONLY factory that I don't own.
Is anyone else being confronted with this? Owned or not owned?

You don't get any extra XP for doing quests only coins, the only XP you get is the normal XP for plowing on your farm and facilities work.

I do quests also but I REFUSE to "waste" FC on any new facilities. FC are just too rare and valuable so if a quest needs a facility I don't have and costs FC I just skip it. To bad we only get about 100 FC per YEAR! This is crazy but it is what it is. I use FC on TOOLS. Just upgrading from the 6x6 H/P Combine to the 8x8 H/P Combine costs 100 FC!!! because the game just takes entirely too much TIME to play unless you have all the tools to speed up harvest, plow, seed, fish, chop, load facilities, etc., etc. So just skip those quests unless you are independently wealthy and can afford to spend a LOT of REAL $ buying FC!

I'm a Questie! I love them! I have a couple of questions about them and the soon to come FC or Ingredients.
What are the rules going to be?
1. How many Quests back will be used to qualify for 'recent' Quest performance? How is my performance going to be graded?
2. Do I get graded on speed of completion? For example the Quest states I have 7 days to complete it and this one is multiple steps including producing champagne barrels, champagne aged 5 years, then making a item for the airline food? If I used a lifeline and it will be completed in a matter of hours but if I use the regular facility loading and waiting it could take several days.
3. If speed is graded, is it to my benefit to use lifelines - especially the employee when I can run someone's factories and pick up ingredients and items in 10 minutes or is it the same if I load the factory that produces those ingredients? The latter, of course takes much longer.
4. When the Quest is completed, does 'when' I click redeem or complete that the Quest is ended or simply when the Quest is completed on the program?
Love this game, thank the Developers and love the Moderators!

Yes to what dah Taz said re. your friend has to have that product in production, but don't forget that if you have to produce something that has stainless steel in it then you must first start production and finish the Iron Ore and Chromite Ore steps. Only when those ingredients are completed can you then work someone's factory and complete the step for producing stainless steel sheets. If the product contains corn you must first harvest corn then the factory requiring the corn step will be completed once you work it. :(

8. Earn Farm Cash while completing Quests: Here are the rules:
- Earn 1 FarmCash if you have completed at least 3 quests in the last 7 days
- Earn 2 FarmCash if you have completed at least 8 quests in the last 7 days, this is difficult, only about a 1000 users have done it in the past week, and is more difficult to do continuously
Once you get your FarmCash, you'll have to wait at least 7 days to qualify for more FarmCash rewards.
These rules may change in the future, specially if we do more changes to the Quests functionality.

For the first time, the 7 period day will from the release date, but there is not a beginning, it goes from when the last FC prize was given, and that would be 7 days from that moment.

As long as there isn't an OBNOXIOUS GIGANTIC ARROW or something big and stupid in my way begging me to do quests, and they are optional, I don't care what they do with quests. i'm so busy farming and decorating that I don't need them, however if they are reasonable and do not involve begging I'll try them. :)
Quests have been around for a long time; optional. The difference is now players can (maybe) earn a tad bit of farm cash for completing them.

If your life line is for GIFTS then you can post for Ingredients that will provide you with your missing or long factory time products.
If your life line is for EMPLOYEE then ingredients requests don't work. You have to work someone's farm and/or factory to receive what you lack.
If your life line is for TRADER then you can buy stuff from another player and that will go towards what you lack, as long as it's a sellable item.

Is a spot of cynicism allowed on the Forum? We'll find out.....
I LOVE THE QUESTS. I do them every day.
It seems the quests I get find crops I don't have planted and ask for them. (I used to have an all-crop quest farm but got tired of maintaining it.) If I am correct and the system does select quests containing missing crops or facilities, that might be in there to encourage the player to buy more farms for crops or the missing facility as a bit of a marketing tool. An option to omit quests calling for unowned facilities would be counterproductive.
That said, I know the quests are declared "random"; however, I do see that I rarely have already planted a requested crop. I'm just curious; statistics were never my field so I'm mentioning it here hoping I don't get flamed. Happy farming!!

Since you haven't collected any FC yet then your 7 days starts the day that you started your first quest, so just make sure that you have the 8th quest completed on or before the end of the 7th day, like if you started your first quest on 4/1 at noon, just make sure you have completed the 8th quest by 4/8 at noon for your 2 FC, cause after noon on 4/8 what you did on 4/1 will be erased and your 7 days would then be 4/2 to 4/9.

You only get 10% of what you harvest, so you needed to harvest 10, not 9. The fertilized part does not come into play for the quests.

Maybe this might help:
There no specific time frame... they do not have a fixed start or end date. When you have a button to collect farmcash, it takes the previous 7 days from the moment you look, and determines if you have done enough quests to collect farmcash.
If you have not... the button will be black... and will remain black until you have 3 or 8 quests done in the past 7 days, in which case it will turn blue.
Lets say you check on the 8th April.... it will take in to account from the 1st April to the 8th April.... if you check again on the 9th April, it will take from the 2nd to the 9th etc..... PAST 7 days.
once you collect the FC.... all texts and FC buttons vanish until 7 days have passed. Once you see the text again, it will take into account those past 7 days from that moment, and you will be able to collect FC again at that time, assuming you have enough quests completed.

If you click on the item it will show you what facility to produce it in. Some of the names don't fit in the space for the Quest so they are shortened. That is why it says Produce Red Flower instead of Red Flower Painting.

I have a quest that requires black ink to be produced. I have produced it 4 times now, and it still says it needs to be produced. It is wasting all my walnuts---and I don't have that many to start with. Another quest required cardstock to be produced, and it didn't show as being produced until I had produced it 5 times. Please fix it. Not sure if this is the right forum thread, so I apologize if I didn't put it in the right place.

Hi!
To produce Black ink you need 1 walnut and 1 soybean, please check is you have harvested the last one mentioned.
To produce Cardstock you need 1 pine log pile, so you need to chop pine trees.
Be sure to have all previous green ticks before you try to produce the items.:)

On the one hand we're being told "do as many quests as you can" in the 7 day period to collect farm cash, and on the other it's "no one is forcing you, just let the quest expire". A quest you can't complete can take several days to expire, and there goes you chance for FC that week. Doesn't seem fair to make a set of rules and set them against random quests. A game of chance is a game of chance for everyone, but this setup obviously favors those who have the most facilities.

You only get 10% of what you harvest, so you needed to harvest 10, not 9. The fertilized part does not come into play for the quests.
Thanks Taz! I will be planting 10 of each on my Quest Farm now, as I was not aware of that!

The 10% Taz mentioned was only if you harvest on someone else's farm not on your farm(s). If you harvest on your farm(s) then if you need one you can harvest one, if you need 10 you can harvest 5 fertilized plots on your farm(s), I do this all the time I need 10 and harvest 5 plots that have been fertilized on my own farm. I don't have a quest farm I just plant what I needed when I need it, I have right now 4 groups of 5 plots, just in case I get a big quest that needs a lot of crops.

Very disappointed with a quest that requires a FC facility. I don't have the FC to buy the facility and now can't finish the quest. I don't mind buying a facility for coins because the prize more than pays for it and I can opt to continue with it, put in storage, or sell it. I'm pretty surprised there are quests with a FC requirement especially since new players could really get ahead by doing quests and most likely don't have a lot of FC.
Having said that I guess I will continue playing the quests but will have to lower my expectations. Can't see how I can do 8 quests in a week with this limitation but I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Also...what are lifelines and how do they work?

I earned 2 Farmcash Last evening YAY! I don't have a quest farm, after awhile I pretty much know the main crops the quest ask for.I am a small dirt farmer, not a BIG one.I plant a variety of crops.Have few farms where I plant big acreages or plots .I just leave a plot or two unharvested.Very few wilt,as i scroll through farms continually.Once in a while I get a surprise crop I haven't planted, and usually lucky getting help, trade, gift,or work.If you have good neighbor friends they are usually good at helping out.I really don't sweat the Quest just take the as they come.:) ALL IS GOOD!!!!

Even if you were to preview it, the Quest will still not expire for 20 hours. Trick is, always click on the final step before you click on a Life Line! If you don't have that final factory or service, do NOT CLICK on the Life Line as then you'll not have another Life Line until that Quest expires.
Some of us are new and some of us have been playing this game for years - we who have been playing for a long time have most everything we want re. facilities but it takes time. $4.99 will buy you 25 FTC and that's like $10 a month investment for 50 FTC. In time you'll be able to get them all. And, really, $10 is really not very much money. 12 months you'll have lots more facilities than you have now.
I picked the facilities I bought as I went along based on what I already had that would require all the steps required - in fact - it seemed forever before I even bought the Chocolate Factory as I was able to get much of that stuff from gifts or working for others.
My main goal was tools. I spent my money on tools first. I've been so low on coins that one day - many years ago - I sold every crop and product I had just to raise coins. LOL
To think that we can pick and choose a Quest or toss one out and get another one in its place is dreaming. This is part of the game. It's a good game. Smile and go plant so more crops - gain some more levels and do what you can do.

i <3 the quest and wish there were more so i could actually use my quest farm. i've been doing them daily since they started except for a couple of weeks when i got bored of them and hardly ever need all those crops i plant every day.
i only own (at least) 1 of about 50% of the facilities and only have had 1 time when all my slots were full with quests i couldn't do so i think the quest variety is pretty fair.

How do we know what Day our Quest 7 Days starts? :)
It starts the day and time that you collect your FC. So if you collect FC on 4/12 at 9 am then the 7 days will start at 4/12 at 9 am and on 4/19 at 9 am that is when the text and collect FC button appears. At that time it will look at your past 7 days and see how many quests you have completed and if you have at least 3 then it will activate the collect button (will be blue) and if you don't have enough the the button will be black.

No where does it state 3 FC. If you complete at least 3 within the 7 days you get 1 FC or if you complete at least 8 you get 2 FC, not both together.
There isn't any waiting period. When you click to collect what you get say on Wednesday at 3:00 then the next time you can collect either 1 FC if you complete at least 3 quests or you collect 2 FC if you complete at least 8.
The question then is did you collect the coins for the quests you completed or have you not thinking that you either collect the coincs or the FC. They are independent?

You either get 1 farm cash or 2 farm cash. You do not get 1 for completing 3 quests plus 2 for completing 8 quests.

You should be seeing the collect farm cash button all the time now with a chart of how many you have done. If the collect farm cash button is black then it isn't time for you to collect yet. If it is blue you can collect.

I've been doing quests lately and enjoy them; however, I've had 2 this week I can't do because I don't have the FC to buy the facilities needed to complete the quest. Today I had one I could have done with help from my hubby (the only neighbor I have left who's still playing), but I got the wrong kind of lifeline. It sucks that you can't even choose the lifeline you need. I now have no chance of getting 8 quests done in 7 days...I have 5 done and 2 days left, sitting here with 3 quests I cannot complete. I'm disappointed. I don't think the lifeline should be random. (I needed to be able to work in his Oil Refinery, and what I got was a trading lifeline.) Pppppttt.

I often see where someone is asking to harvest a give crop so they might complete their quest. I guess I don't understand just how the quests work. When I have certain crops that are needed to fill a spot on my quest and I work someones farm I do not get credit for that harvest in my quest. So, either I'm doing something wrong or is it that all quest have to be worked just off my own farms.

Finally got the "Employee" lifeline to complete a quest, but after working most of my neighbors facilities I still had not been able to complete the quest, so I looked here to find out why, only to find out that the lifeline doesn't work if the facility is the last thing to complete the quest. What a total waste of time! If you cannot use the lifeline to complete a quest, then why have one at all? Fix it.

I moved your post to the Feedback thread about Quests. It doesn't have anything about the Release, so belongs in Feedback.
There is nothing to fix. The purpose of the lifelines are to assist you in getting steps finished faster leading up to the last step. The last step is for you to complete on your own.

Hi Carol!
As you are level 525 there are no restrictions about the amount of quests you can have active.
You can only open or unlocked a new quest every 20 hours not 29 hours, and if your friends are working on several quests, perhaps they havent collected coins for them after completing them, or they have several steps to do so they take more time,or they cant complete them and they are showed until they expire.

What is the problem you have filling them, is it you don't get on your farm enough, you don't have enough ingredients or you don't have all of the factories? If it is crops, so people have a quest farm where they keep crops of like 2 to 4 days crops ready all the time,

What do you mean they disappeared?
Did you complete them before you collected the farm cash except for collecting the coins? If that is what you did then they were completed in the prior 7 days and will not count in the current 7 days. If you want to hold a quest over to the next week then you cannot complete the last step prior to collecting your farm cash. Waiting to collect the coins will not hold them.

Just when I thought I had the "Quests" figured out- Something new happens. On Sunday, the 27th, I completed a quest at 11:00pm. The counter at the bottom credited this quest on Monday, the 28th. All was well though as I completed my 8th quest yesterday. I collected the coin but when I looked to check on the Cash, it said 7 days have not passed yet? OK- today I completed a quest in 2 hours after it was posted. Still, the cash shows that 7 days have not passed yet? However, if I look at the post listing, it shows a quest completed for each of the last 8 days and a total quests completed as 9. Still says 7 days have not passed? I think this quest program is so screwed up that even the Moderators don't know what it's doing!!! About had it with quests. Go to bed- sleep 2 hours and get back up to finish a step in the quest. All this and no reward as promised????

I think this quest program is so screwed up that even the Moderators don't know what it's doing!!! About had it with quests. Go to bed- sleep 2 hours and get back up to finish a step in the quest. All this and no reward as promised????
Hi!
Which day did you collect your last farmcash? Is the collect farmcash button blue? If it is still black it is no time for you to collect again and when you click in it you will receive the message about 7 days have not passed yet.

My post disappeared before I clicked to post. My issue remains unsolved however. For the second time I (successfully) performed a Quest.
But also for the 2d time, my very next quest would require me to make goods in facilities I don't own and can't for another 60 levels. At level 183, there would be plenty of quests I can do with the facilities already owned---But no! The entire concept of this 2d task is to make 50 freezy pops in a level 243 facility. From level 183 it just won't happen in 7 days.
I love completing challenges, but not if they are ones deliberately written to be impossible. Quest requires 50 of those pops to be made and if it's like the last 2, I'll have to repeat some steps a few times to be recognized So 150 to play it safe? I never got gifts like that when I did have over 30 ******** player neighbors. I have one, her helpers swarm so fast I can't play like that; I need to make stuff myself. So why every quest require stupid tasks we can't accomplish? Give me all number ones, not the mean **** that screams "she doesn't have that, tickle tickle! Not that either.
Why both first quests straightforward...used my new cinnamon factory so I made my 1st cola. What a downer to see next task assumes I bought a level 243 facility.... If I'm erring, please let me know. And if I can trade in the crappy quest for one set for my level, let me know. Otherwise I'll conclude quests are only for level 500 players and find other ways to fill my time.... multi billion with a "b" dollar expansions? not. But something... Thank you for your time.

Quests are assigned randomly. The program does not look to see what you have or don't have in the way of facilities. It is simply the luck of the draw and not a case of picking one you don't have the facility for.

If you have already finished that 9th quest and just not collected the coins then it will not carry over to the next week. When you collect the coins it will go on the chart for the date/time it was actually completed and not when you collect the coins. So if it is complete already it will be applied to the current week and will not show on the new week after you collect the FC tonight.

After you get your 8 quests done just don't start the final step in any other quests until after you collect you FC, then you can finish the other quests and let them be on your next FC.

why cant you not cash out the coin untill you get your 2 farm cash, i got 1 thats done & fixing to get another quest & its possible that i can get it done before my week is up, looks like as long as you dont collect the coin untill you get the fc it would count towards the next 8

It counts as completed when the last step has been completed, not when you collect the coins, if you want to hold a quest you need to wait and start the last step of the quest when you want to end it. I do that at the beginning of my 7 day wait period and then start the last step a couple days after I collect my FC.

I love the quests, but there is a lot of wasted time and frustration with the rules. I have had to lose several quests and wait for them to expire b/c I have a lifeline that does not fit the quest or what I need (with the correct lifeline) is the final product. I am sure there must be a reason for this, but it IS disheartening after you work hard and then lost everything.
Thanks for letting me vent!

The reason is that the quests and the lifelines are random.

Three quests and every one has a last step I can not finish because I don't own the factory. What a bad rule.

What is the reason you can not use a lifeline for the last step?

That's the rule for Quests, lifelines, which are random too, help you with crops, ingredients, gifts or working facilities while you are running the quest, but you need to have the last facility to complete it.:)

Thursday evening my "Claim Farmcash" button was blue so I clicked it to collect my 1 FC.
I had an issue before when after claiming my FC I clicked the "Collect Coins" button for an other quest that was ready right after clicking the FC button and it didn't register the quest as being completed.
So this time I waited until Friday night to claim 2 completed quests and neither of them registered for my new week of quests.
It seems to me that once the FC is blue and you click it you should be able to immediately click the "Claim Coins" button and have those quests count towards your next week of quests.
Is this issue being looked at and will it be fixed soon??
Thanks

If the quests were finished (last step done before claiming your FC, then they would go on the previous week. If you want a quest to carry over to the next week you can't complete the last step before collecting your FC.
