Thanks for your reply. The last time I stopped questing for 6 days I was told my new time frame would commence as soon as I COMPLETED a quest. However, as soon as I collected 3 completed quests (3 days after I returned) the COLLECT REWARDS bar turned blue and I received 1 FC. Is that what you are saying? If so, that's fine - Is the quota for 1 FC, not for 2, and then the week, as you said, starts over from there? It's NOT a big deal, but I sure would like to understand it. Again, thanks for replying. Happy questing!
Hi, grammy, let me esplain. :) Your new quest week starts when you collect FC, either 1 or 2, so whatever day you collect will be the first day of your new week and a week later, your 7 days will be up on the same day and the blue light will go on. The collect button turned blue after you took a break because 7 days had gone by and then you collected the coins for 3 quests. You did not have to take 1 FC at that time, you could have kept going and tried to get 8, but sometimes it's better to take the 1 FC and start over clean with a new week. The quests are timed to the second, so you don't want to take a chance on having them drop off while you are trying to finish more. See my sig for the name of a timing program (not supported by Slashkey, it's an outside developer) that really helps me keep track of exactly when my quests will start to drop off and let me know if you have any questions! :)

Currently, you have to wait 7 days from the completion time of a quest to collect Farm Town Caash. If I complete 3 quests in 3 days, I still need to wait for "day 7" to collect. If I complete 4 more in the extra days, and then claim the 1 FT Cash for the first three, I lose the later 4, which is very unfair.
We should be given the option to collect the FT Cash when the third quest is completed. That way, we can get the rewards we are earning, without sacrificing anything or waiting 7 days to start a new quest

Hi George:)
It will be better if you post your suggestion in our Suggestion Section, you cant open a new thread there, but you can post as a response to the open thread for Quests suggestions.
About your problem saving quests, I dont have all facilities so not all weeks I can collect 2 farmcash. So some weeks, I only complete and collect coins for 3 quests and then open the others but not complete the last step for them after the following day from collecting cash. Of course you need to check when those quests expire, but now, you can check how long to collect farmcash again, by clicking in Claim farmcash button when it is still black. You will see how many days or hours you need to wait to collect again and then check your open quests to be sure they will not expire before your collection time.:)

I couldn't agree more. I lost my FC reward by being busy with real life and not being able to log in and collect on the right day. When I was able to log in, one of my completed requests had disappeared! and I was down to only 2 completed quests, after having completed three and waiting for the seven days to pass so I could collect my FC. Totally discouraging. ;_;

Why is it that to finish the final step of a quest that it is required to finish it with a facility you don't have? The facility is 32 Farmcash and I don't have it nor can I afford to buy it. I'd rather buy Christmas gifts for my 3 kids. Since the whole point of doing quests is to earn Farmcash it's rather unfair and a crock to do this especially to your loyal players since this game first hit Facebook. This needs to change or I'm done with this game and I'm sure many others won't be far behind. What are you going to do about this travesty?

Instead of answering my previous post it was moved to page 151 in a thread? Who is going to go through that many pages to see it? One more thing, I seen others who said to just let the quest expire we will get a new quest. Well, since you have to get so many completed in order to earn Farmcash then how many quests will end in this fashion? Enough quests to keep us from earning it? That's dangling the carrot just out of reach of the rabbit if you ask me.

Hi Phonetek,
I moved your post to the thread concerning Quest Feedback. I am sorry this has happened to you, but the quests are given out randomly and not based on what facilities you have or don't have. There will be times when you get a quest that you don't have the facility to complete it. You are shown what facility is needed for the last step, so if you don't have that facility you can decide to buy or not and if not then don't work on that quest and let it expire.
If you wish to make a suggestion for this to change then feel free to put that in the Suggestion section. You can not start a new thread there but you can reply to one that fits your suggestion, in this case there is a thread for quest suggestions.

I stand by ^^^ this post. Each "Random" quest should take into account what Farmcash a farmer owns. I doubt it would take a genius to program such a thing to keep things fair. Besides, hypothetically say I buy the farmcash to buy this facility for 32 farmash to keep the effort put into it in order to complete the quest. It would take hundreds of quests to break even. I dunno Taz, I don't think any response you give will take away the feeling of getting taken. I think everyone plays the game to have fun an things like this sure take all the fun out of it. I guess since I don't see this something that will be fixed I'll stop complaining and move on to bigger and better things.

Hi Phonetek,
As I said above you can put your idea in the Suggestions section and hope the developers make the change. It is up to them if they think it is a good idea.

DO NOT finish the last box in the quest if you are not going to have the 8 you need for that week. Save the last load for the next week and then you can get 8 for the next week. Do not finish all your quest unless you know you're going to get 8 in that 7 days. If you will have 3 quest for the 7 days, save the last box in other quest for the next week to add up to 8. :)

when the devs first changed it so you could get a new coop quest every 10 hrs, i was happy. apparently i'd forgotten why i don't like to play FT at night! i am totally burnt out on doing the 2nd round of cq's at night and am fighting to keep doing the morning ones now.
not sure what the answer to more cq's would be for me. at one time, i thought it would be good to be able to get 5 new ones each day but that wouldn't work either as, unless all neighbors were synchronized, there'd be no other quests to go check.
in the meantime, i'll just keep doing 1 a day.

Quests are good. If you don't want to do a certain one, you can let it expire. However, when you do a quest, the prize is millions of coins for one quest.

3 out of the last 4 daily quests have to be processed in facilities that are bought with Farm Cash. It makes it very hard to complete quests that way.

I will activate my CQ when it is available but if I don't have time to work them I will sometimes wait till I have 2, 3 or even 4 open and work them all at the same time. It doesn't take much more time to work multiple quests than to just work them one at a time.

Hi ed,
I moved your post to the feedback thread on quests as you didn't have a suggestion. I will say though that the quests are strictly random and it is just bad luck that you have gotten 4 in a row for farm cash facilities.

It's not just that quests require FT cash. I have all but 28 facilities - that's a lot, including ones that require FT cash. But 4 of my regular quests are ones that I can't work on, and 2 of the Co-Op quests. 3 of them are from the same facility, and 2 are the exact same item from the same facility. It seems to me like the "randomness" is being altered to make it include more of the FT cash, especially ones people are less likely to have (as in more recent ones). The algorithm is biased towards spending real money. I realize that they'd like people to do that, but when you are rewarding FT cash for completed quests, if you make them all quests that require cash, then there is no point.

random number generators sometimes produce streaks of similar numbers. sometimes, they also produce similar random numbers for certain users.
looks like you've hit a "bad patch" of random numbers. don't worry, it'll get better and you may get "good random numbers" for quite a while after this.
if you want to learn more about random numbers, i found some accessible youtube videos on the subject
"The Random Coin Flipper" by theshoal12. in this video there's 2 numbers to pay attention to: "Heads streak" at the top of the right column and "Tails streak" near the bottom.
"Random vs. Pseudorandom Number Generators" by Art of the Problem. details on how computers pick numbers that are kind of, sort of, as close to being random as computers can get.
"Random Events Often Happen in Streaks" by what appears to be a motivational speaker Patrick S
sometimes the only thing i've found that helps with "bad" random numbers is to stop and type in chat "I shake my fist at the RNG!!!" RNG being the Random Number Generator.

Than you for your reply. I am a programmer. I know all about random number generators. There is no such thing as a true random number generator, as you saw by your link on pseudo random numbers.
This is a sudden change, reported by multiple people, that belies the idea of it just being "randomness". Every random number generator is seeded. There are algorithms that can be used to choose both the seed and the array of choices to choose from. It could well be that the random numbers are being seeded in such a way to make them fairly random, but what is happening is that the pool to select from has been narrowed. Or some weight is given to some items more than others, which is more likely what is happening

if you're a programmer, as i also am, then you know that sometimes the RNG does seem to be weighted, ie: streaky.
and you are right - they "could" be weighting so that more FC facilities are coming up but i really don't think it's warranted to attribute this kind of underhandness to Raul et al. if this were a game run by Sony or FB, my innate paranoia would go there, but i've never seen that kind of behavior from this game.

Hi mickey,
The gift Life Line can also be used with ingredient requests. Choose a product that uses the items you need and post an ingredient request for that item.
The Life Lines are random just as the quests are, so you may or may not get one that works for that particular quest. It is just the luck of the draw to get one that works for your quest.

OK, I know the quests are supposed to be random but....................I was just wrapping up the quest for the coconut guitar and opened the next quest.......it was also the coconut guitar. I just opened another quest and it's not the coconut guitar but is for the linen yarn which you have to produce to do the coconut guitar. It this weird or what.

But miffed. I've just opened todays quest and its produce teak planks. Great thinks I that's easy! But I go to buy some teak trees and discover that they are unlocked at level 104 and I'm only level 88! Fortunately I had the help button free and got 'gifting' so can complete it but still annoyed that the quest pool isn't level checked!

I am level 186 and decided to try quests. The first three were fun! I got my first Greenie! The fourth quest requires the Oil Refinery, which costs 32 Greenies! I am saving my very slowly increasing Greenies for things like a bigger harvester, a bigger plower, a combine, a bigger combine, but don't forget the bigger tools that I'll need to get the next bigger combine! Then there's a bigger seeder. Geez! If I decided to buy all of these tools, it will currently cost me 530 Greenies, and that's only for harvesters, plowers, and combines. Let's don't even go to combine-seeder combos! And that doesn't count any chain saws, shakers, flower harvesters, bulldozers, flower waterers or any other buildings!
Now...I can buy 250 Greenies for the low low price of only $39.99US. To get 500, it would cost me $80...just for h/p/combines! That still leaves 30 Greenies that I would need!
And they want me to spend 32 Greenies to complete a quest! Ha! That's not going to happen. In fact, they have ruined my fun so much that I may quit for ANOTHER 4 years and spend more time with my ATV!
Oh yeah...I currently have over 460 MILLION coins that don't help a bit!
I know this is a money-making business, but I live on a limited income and I can't afford to spend that much on any game! I have already completed all of the offers that I can to get rewards. And, speaking of such, I have YET to find a survey that I can get past the first step! They are a total waste of time!

I am so frustrated right now. I love the quests. Last Monday, I cashed in for 1 FC. I had several ready to start the final step, but waited until after I cashed in. I knew I would't have 8 and didn't want the others to be wasted. So I waited, cashed in, and then started the final steps. I have had 8 completed now for a day or more. Today was my day to cash in. The last time, I checked it said not enough time had passed. I had to wait for 3 more hours. I had to go to a party and was not home then. As soon as I got home, I got on-line to cash in and what do I find? I have just 5 quests completed. So I got 1 FC. I feel gypped. So very disappointed.

Hi Mrschar,
I am sorry, but those 3 quests were completed too quickly, so by not being able to collect at the same time they went over the 7 days. This is why we say to wait a day before starting those last steps. By starting them right after you collected last time, then they were done within 3 hours afterwards and you were not able to collect for 3 1/2 hours. That means all 3 were over 7 days old.

I don't understand how to get the quests to be collected all in one week. I do eight and some expire before the end of the week, so I end up with 5. So when I turn them in two are wasted because I only need 3. Two vanish because when I turned in my three all five are taken. After doing 8 quests I end up with ONE FC. What's the secret way to not get them to be wasted? Most of them expire or vanish before I can collect my FC and I end up doing a lot more than I should have to.

After this, I decided to just ignore the Nylon Reel quest and try the next one. Guess what? It is for Granola and takes honey and almonds. Honey requires a Bee Farm that costs 28 Greenies! Okay...let's just do the rest of the quest just because it's there. Planted oats...no problem. Need to plant almond trees. I went to buy the trees and THEY DON'T EXIST! There is a Pink Flowering Almond Bush that is just for decoration, but no Almond Tree!!!

Hi Spencer:)
I'm sorry you are having so many problems with your quests.
Almond trees are not available in the Store, you can only receive them as a gift from your friends/neighbors. When you go to My Requests tab, you can also exchange some of your gifts for the almond trees.

SO annoyed. Left this morning to spend time with family for CHRISTMAS DAY and when I left I had 8 quests completed. Was not able to cash them in because it still had 3 hours to go when I left home. Arrived home this evening and it had dropped to 6. WHAT THE HELL ! Give us some slack on this. The quests are crazy enough with their time limits....if you arent a fricken addict that sits by the computer 24 7 you are always on the short end of the stick. I believe YOU can create something that doesn't have such strange limits. It is rather stupid. I am DONE !

Hi tnbravesgirl,
I am sorry this happened. This is why we say not to start the last step on any quests until about a day after you have last collected. This way you will have a day's time to be late collecting.

Hi - Just commenting on the above post. Would it be possible for the developers to make up a chart of time limits on quests? I have been doing quests for a long time now and find it almost impossible to figure this out and I'm only half stupid! It could be something very simple that everybody could understand and use. I know that this is a business and giving away FC is not a top priority but why offer it if most people have a hard time figuring out the rules? And from reading the posts and explanations one needs to be a rocket scientist to collect any cash!
Thanks so much,

The quests are crazy enough with their time limits....if you arent a fricken addict that sits by the computer 24 7 you are always on the short end of the stick. I believe YOU can create something that doesn't have such strange limits. It is rather stupid. I am DONE !
Thanks so much,
mwyld40 (Mom's Farms)
Hi mwyld40:)
I will try to explain and sorry if my english is not good enough:o
Quests are only holding in the chart for exactly 7 days to the second.
Now you have 2 new buttons to check the state of your quests.
If you click in Collect FarmCash button while it is still black it will show you how many days, hours or minutes you have to wait to collect farmcash again.
If you click in Show quests button it will show you how many days, hours and minutes have past since that quest was completed.
Lets try an example, suppose you have 7 quests completed and you are on the last step of your 8th quest which will be ready in 2 hours, then your collect farmcash button turns blue, saying you are able to collect your farm cash.
If you click in Show quests button, you will see the 7 quests completed during that week. Check when the last one on the list was completed.
Suppose it says: 6 days, 23 hours, 15 minutes ago. That shows you, that the quest will only stay on the chart for another 45 minutes, and although you could complete your 8th quest in 2 hours, that first quest will dropp off the chart in 45 minutes.
Now suppose it says: 6 days, 12 hours, 5 minutes ago. That is saying you have almost 12 hours until that quest will dropp off the chart, and as your 8th quest will be completed in only 2 more hours, you will be able to collect 2 farmcash.
Also remember you can click in both buttons anytime during the week:)

I just collected 2 FC on quests this morning and plan on not starting the final step on any quests until I have at least 2 ready to go. I got 2 FC last week by doing the same thing. If I do hit a snag and get several quests that I can't finish I will just finish 3 and wait to finish any more until after I collect my 1 FC.

Thank you Mary Marcel, I am going to print out your above post and keep it by my computer to refer to when I am about to tear my hair out!! No seriously this should help, and your English is just fine. It is a shame though that so many farmers are having so much trouble trying to understand the times here and it's even worse when some people quit the game because of this. Quests should be another fun thing to do and should help you reach your goals of increasing your FC if even just a little bit at a time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question,

I had 3 impossible to fulfill quests in a row 1) farm equipment got the work on a friends farm which i did in facilities etc but never got credit for the item 2) the 2nd one allowed me to work on another's farm which i did but it never credited the quest then the lifeline died out and it was a redo this time saying it was only by gift a health bar thing no kidding same quest one i completed but didn't give me the product and then an impossible one followed by 1 more impossible quests because the lifeline given make it impossible to complete one was an ice creme sandwich because now even though i am working others facilities etc what comes up is trade which is impossible to do for a product so why can't there be reasonable quests?

Hi Sally,
The quests are assigned randomly and so are the lifelines. A couple things to keep in mind is that no lifeline works for the final step. That has to be done by you in your own facility or service. The other thing is a lifeline is only good for the quest it is gotten for and not for all the quests you have open at the time.

Greetings, I have been playing Farm Town for over 5 years and am currently at Level 260. One of the things that I have been noticing is that some of the quests have a different choice, by the game, in what is done at the time a request for help is made. The problem here is that on 95% of the Farm Neighbor work of service facilities, one cannot work the Factories which is much needed to be done. In order to get help for an item needed for a quest, that item is produced in a factory which is inaccessible to those working a neighbor's farm. For this game to function much better for all players, and many have been around longer than I have, it must be easier to acquire items that a quest calls for, especially if said item is created or made in a factory.

So this post was ignored as usual. Can someone tell me where to find the instructions on how to do the quests? I've looked but haven't found anything that looks like a tutorial on this. Maybe if I could read it myself instead of trying to figure it out hit and miss it would be more helpful.
If you post a question in the feedback section then it may not get noticed nearly as fast as if you posted it in the Help & Support section. There aren't any tutorials in the forums for anything unless you consider the Game Guide which does have a chapter on Quests. Here is a link to that:

I lost quests, too, but I also lost gifts. I accepted gifts several times today. The last time, I accepted 6 gifts and only 1 made it to my Gift Box. Now that is discouraging, but loss of completed quests costs us FC, which if you are like me, you really need.
I am hoping that these are glitches from new levels about to come out!! I am eagerly anticipating those and the FC that come with the, too.

For some reason this seems to be the lifeline I receive the most and I mean the most, and of course you can't use this lifeline to complete the last step of the quest. I hardly ever get the lifeline I need, then my unfinished quest sits there for the next 4 or 5 days and I have to wait till it expires before I can get help with another one.
"- Trading Lifeline - Allows you to complete Quest Steps by trading goods with other farmers in the Market. This will help if you need a basic ingredient that can be bought from another farmer ( e.g. harvested crops, harvested animal products, chopped trees, fish, harvested flowers). You can not buy products made in facilities from another farmer."

Hello Moderators and Developers, I hope this is the correct spot for this problem. I am thinking this is the feedback section since many of the other threads do not allow posts. I have had a quest and luckily got the life like with the harvesting tool allowing me to work facilities to get the product (in this case the fish tank) to complete my quest. I started working facilities with a bit more than 2 days left on the quest. I successfully spied that factory two times on different farms while in search of accruing the fish tanks. I believe there were sufficient quantities for me to earn the 1 tank that I needed for the quest. is there a problem? I'd really like to know, since I complete many quests. I have lost 1 due to the lack of collecting the tank and am about to complete the next to make the 8th for the 2 FT$. It saddens me that I was unable to fine a better spot to post this. Thanks so much for replying.

Hi Ginny,
I am sorry to tell you but the life line will not work for the last step of a quest. You must have the facility and complete the last step in your own facility. The Game Guide chapter on Quests is in the following link and this has been the rule since the beginning of the quests:

Hi Gramma Cindy,
The basic rules on the quests are in the Game Guide chapter on Quests. It does not explain about the farm cash part, but does explain how to complete the quests and about life line uses. Here is a link to that:
http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=489690
For the Farm Cash part, the "week" is a moving week. If you look at your chart on Wednesday then it will show from Wednesday through the next Wednesday, but if you look at the chart on Thursday it will show from Thursday to Thursday. I know that sounds confusing. If today is Wednesday and you complete a quest today, then it will show on the Wednesday on the right of the list. When you look tomorrow that quest will still show on Wednesday to the left of the right side Thursday. The quests then are moving down to the left each day that passes.
Now the simple way to keep track. The developers recently added two tools that will help you. The first is the Show Quests button. This will be a list of the quests that you have completed and the length of time since they were completed. The one to watch will be the last one in the list. When it gets to 6 days then it will start saying 6 days and X amount of hours and minutes. You have to collect your farm cash, before that hits 7 days exactly or you will lose that quest.
The second help they have added is if you click on the Collect FarmCash button at the bottom of the statement it will tell you how long until you can collect your Farm Cash. When it gets under 1 day then it will tell you how many hours and minutes. From that you can calculate when is the earliest you can collect.
One key suggestion we offer is after you have collected then wait at least 12 to 24 hours before you complete the last step of any new or carried over quests. This will give you a safety time in case you are late getting in to collect the next week.

What is the point in a task that requires a facility that is locked?
Yes today's quest is to load/produce frozen orange freeze pops....I am on level 164 and facility locked till level 243!!!
Also thinking it was going to be a FC facility, I used my lifeline button and now stuck with GIFT for 7 days....glitches like this are so annoying.

Hi Sapsgal,
The quests are randomly assigned and do not look at levels or what facilities you have. If you will check the last step you can see what facility is required and can check to see if you have it or can buy it then you won't waste a life line if that isn't possible.

why do we lose any points over what is needed to earn one (1) coin? There should be points remaining when we "cash in" our finished quests! It is frustrating to spend so much time finishing a quest just to lose the points! Please fix this. If the points are kept long enough to get 8 pts, the older ones expire before we can "cash" them in!

Hi Bonida,
There is nothing to fix. The quests you complete are good for 7 days exactly. The objective is to complete 8 quests within 7 days to be able to get 2 farm cash. Other wise you can complete at least 3 to get 1 farm cash. Those are the rules set down when the farm cash was added for the quests.

Get rid of the life lines or make them better! I am sooo tired of hitting that life saver only to get yet another one that will not help me and then ties up the quest for a week when I might need one for another quest.Getting to hate the whole regular quest experience. The coop quests are much nicer.
Why can't you get help from other players like in the coop quests?

Hi Lilly,
The life lines are random so sometimes you may not get one that helps and other times itr may be a big help. It is your choice whether or not you want to try the life line. Life lines do not extend how long a quest will be open and does not tie up the quest. What it does do is keep you from getting another life line until that quest is completed or expires.
You can get help from other players in your regular quests. That is what the life lines let you do by either working their facilities or harvesting for them if you get the Employee life line. Or by sending you gifts or ingredients from your requests with the Gift life line. Or by selling you basic items with the Trading life line. Each one of those life lines are getting help from other players.

Hi Alex,
Slashkey is the company that produces Farm Town and it is currently their only game.
As far as the rest it would be better if you posted your suggestions in the Suggestion section where the developers would be more likely to see them.

Hi Doreengee,
Quests only are good for 7 days exactly. If for example you collected your farm cash on last Saturday at 11:30 PM, then a quest complete the last step at 3:00 AM on Sunday, then you collected this week on Sunday morning at 7:30 AM the quest you completed at 3:00 AM would not count because it would be over 7 days exactly to the minute.
This is why we recommend not doing the last step of any quest you are carrying over after collecting your farm cash for at least a day. That way if you need to wait to collect then you won't lose those quests.

Try this: once you collect your FC and start a new week, complete 3 quests and then do NOT start the final step on any more. By the time your week is up and you collect 1 FC you will have 3 or 4 quests ready for the final step. Complete them and you'll have no worries getting 8 in time to save the rest for the following week. Two FC each week, easy. Happy questing. The only time I have to start over is when I take some time off, then I follow the same route.

Are all the Quest the same for all players each day?
I don't think so jewels. Some are totally different though since I myself has still some problems of getting most of the ingredients that I need for my quest. Like myself I am still in the lower level and some quest are requiring a facility that I still don't have and it is so hard for me to buy the facility since my level is not allowed to buy that particular facility. There's this lifeline icon with a lifesaver and a gift. I don't even know how to use that thing. Do you have any idea on how to use it?

I looked to see what the Forum said. I will give more details. First of all, the Gifts Lifeline cannot be for the last step of the quest. Here is an example. Your final step is for making a Best Farmer Trophy. You have the Trophy Facility. You need a Clay Block and Ebony lumber. You do not have the mine or the Sawmill. Go to the Trophy Shop and click on the + on the Best Farmer Trophy and ask your friends to send you ingredients. When they do, the ingredients will be in your Gift Box. Store them. Then go to the quest and you will see that they have been checked off and you can now make the trophy. Hope this makes sense to you. Happy Farming.

I have always loved doing the quests since they came out and more so the new Co-Op quests. It was also pleasing to hear that we will get some FC for our efforts, although the details of how much FC for how many quests has not yet been released.
I have quite a few FC facilities on my farm but this is obviously limited to how much I can spend in real money. I have already spent lots of real money (hundreds) on FC for upgrades on tools, gifts to friends and facilities important to me; but most facilities have had to take a back seat because tools are more important to help with time management in playing. This is more money than I would have spent on a PC or video game bought in a shop to play! FC is not cheap and it costs a lot to get just a few items.
I was dismayed to see that the last 3 Co-Op quest I have taken require me to have 3 FC Facilities; The Party Shop, Honey Shop and Casino. These kind of facilities often require another FC factory to make items for them and I see no point in having Retail Outlets without the factory to go with them, even though they are not needed for the Co-Op quests.
OK, so this week I have completed quite a few Co-Op quests, 11 in total but I enjoy doing them and the coins help towards my farm upgrades.
I'm just wondering was I unlucky to get 3 co-op quests in a row all requiring FC facilities that I dont have? I am now left with 3 quest for 5 days that I cant complete without buying them. If I get 2 more quest like these then I wont be able to do anymore until they expire in 5 days time.
I hope this isn't how they are going to run, because if they are, I am going to be bored very quickly with them.
This is a just suggestion for the developers. Maybe they would give us special FC half price "buying" days on FB or double FC for the same amount of money with limited time offers occasionally. Some games on FB do this and it's an incentive to buy and play. It would help to make FC items that little bit more easy for those of use who wish to buy them with real money.

Hi Rozee,
The quests for the co-op quests, just like the regular quests are randomly assigned. Unfortunately it is just unlucky that you got 3 in a row for facilities you don't have and they were all FC facilities. Hopefully that won't happen for the other 2 for you.
If you wish to make a suggestion please put it in the Suggestion section in a thread there that fits your suggestion. You can not start a new thread in that section, but you can reply to one that fits.

Thank you for your reply. I must be very unlucky since a new one this morning gave me the Travel and Luggage Store! :( Another one I do not have!
This got me to thinking how much would it cost in real money to buy all the FC facilities. There are 135 FC facilities. Even allowing for the free FC we get with the levels this would cost me about 350-400 UK pounds when buying the 250 FC at the current exchange levels. Not to mention that we often need multiples of FC facilities because they do not provide enough.
Then there is all the FC tools we need to buy and I really dont want to think how much more money they would cost in real terms! The reality is this can be an expensive game to play and we are being given more and more FC items to buy and play it as it should be.
Don't get me wrong, this is a game that over the years I have enjoyed playing and have continued with it, but it's getting more and more difficult to play as we require to shell out more real money to enjoy the many aspects or not play them to the full.
I feel that eventually the game will become "boring" for me because when you are at the top level it's harder to "achieve". Isn't that why most of us play games, to feel we are achieving something? Getting a new item for me, be it for FC or Coins, a facility or tool to help and further me in the game, or even a FC decorative item makes the game fun for me.
I dont have any problems with the developers putting FC facilities into the mix of Quests, but it has to be in proportion, and getting 4 quests all requiring FC Retail facilities and with them taking so long to expire is going to take the fun out of playing them.
**update** to my previous message. Took my 5th and final Co-op quest it was a for another FC facility. The Perfume Factory. At least I had this one and could complete but I think this says it all. This will be my final and last Co-op quest. Seems very strange after completing 11 Co-Op quests that all I have left are quests that require farm cash facilities
FC is not enough incentive to do things on Farm Town. It's not just about getting FC it's about making the player feel good about playing the game.

Wow I never counted up how many FC facilities there are in the game. Add to that all the FC tools heavens. TYVM for telling us how many there are because now I KNOW I'll not be buying the last 2, Dessert and Brazilian restaurants. The number of tools I have that are costly as well as the 131 out of the possible 135 FC facilities has me putting the brakes on spending more.
You mentioned not having FC facilities, I have to chuckle at myself here because 1 week I had the following.....2 regular quests that needed the animal cure facilities and 3 CoOp quests that needed the same ones. Decided long ago not to purchase those due to the short growth rate of the crops needed as well as initial costs for them verses the poor coin return.....OH and YES they may be random BUT there really should be a way to get rid of them off the board as well I agree with you on this point.
Good luck to you with your further quests and again I say TYVM for taking the time to count up those facilities for us. Due to my age, health, and fact am retired the only game I enjoy is FarmTown, don't play any other games. I have to rely on the monetary gifts my friends and family give me for Christmas, birthday, and Mother's Day to buy....plus any extra I may have at end of month so am very picky when it comes to tools and facilities.
HAPPY FARMING to you RozeeS!

If it is the sports accessories factory you don't have then buy it it cost coins not fc so what is the problem with your quest. If it is a factory for one of the other parts of the quest and it cost fc again buy it or don't do that quest. No where was it said the quest would only be based on what you have the point of quest are to get people to buy or do things they may not already have or may not be doing.
I am on level 600 and I love doing the quests but of the last 12 quest over half of them are for facilities I don't own. (I have over 250 ) so would have thought that most would be for facilities I own or is this a ploy so I have to buy farm cash to get more facilities, as I am at the highest level it could be months before more levels come out.

I'm sorry this has happened to you, but the quests are randomly assigned, the game doesn't "look" if you have the facilities for the quests you got.

I have had the same experience with quests of late.. so much so I am really not bothering any more. When 4 of 5 slots have quests for facilities I don't have, although I have most, including 2 for the same facility and not once but several weeks running.. what is the point.. and to make it worse we can't get rid of them until the time is up.. which always seems to be much longer than for the ones I can actually do.. the same has been happening to my neighbours so I know i am not alone.. I think we should also have the option to opt out of gambling and alcohol if we choose.. just like the option to not have funerals.. I have had a proliferation of quests for the casino and liquor.. I don't support these activities and have no desire to own these so will continue to have this problem... I didn't mind when it was only occasionally but when they are preventing me from doing anything else and I have the majority of slots unavailable for a week or more until they expire.. as I said. what's the point????
I love this game, it is the only game I play and have done so since it began.. but I think I will be going back to just being a farmer and forget the rest...

I agree with all of the above comments. I played FT years ago(15 or so) and had a lot of $purchases on my farm. Quit playing and recently got a notice from FB to play again. They gave me my farm with one small tool I had purchased, all of the others where not there, and 3 neighbors listed, I had dozens. So I have started over, but not in position to put $into game. I have been doing quests and trying to earn $ that way, but lately they always have some facility I do not own, and they do not drop off quests list for many days. I am about ready to quit again. Too frustrating, and it should be fun.

Hi smarsh,
First thing is Farm Town has not been around but 6 years this month.
Did you possibly start under a new Facebook account when you came back? If you did then that is why you didn't get but the one tool you are given to start with and 1 farm. If that is not the case did you contact Support about this to see if they could check your account to see why you didn't get everything back that you had before?

am pretty sure it has been around a lot longer than 6 years... I have been living in Australia for almost 5 years and before that in UK and I know for sure I was playing it a long long time before I moved to Australia!
Maybe it was under a different name/format before feb 1st 2009??

Hi Deenites,
Feb 2009 was when Farm Town started. And no it was not under a different format or name. It started in Feb 2009 and was by invitation only for a short period, then went public on Facebook.

I open a co-op quest twice a day....once in the morning and once in the evening. That makes 14 quests a week. I have no problem getting that every week. It does not take that long to go thru neighbors quests especially since you don't have to even leave your farm. It is NOT overboard. It's free money!!!! NO other game I play gives me cold hard cash for playing the game.

Hi Barbara,
I am sorry this happened, but I only see 1 quest dropped. That quest was finished 45 minutes after the last time you collected on Feb 3rd at 3:06 PM eastern time zone. However, today you waited an additional 6 hours before collecting at 9:27 PM eastern time zone.
I have 2 suggestions for you that might help. The first is do not start the last step of any quests you are carrying over for a day after you have collected. The other suggestion is write down the date and time you collect. That way you know exactly when you can collect the next week.

Also, when you open your quest window, right above where it says "claim FC" it says "Show Quests". Click on that and it opens another page that shows you how many quests you have collected and how old they are right down to the minute. :)

On the personal quests lifesaver button....could you change it to allow us which lifesaver we need to use? I usually need the one to work others facilities for products that I don't have the facilities, but I get one that only allows me to purchase ingredients from market which does not help in my quest. Then this lifeline lasts for 6 plus days not allowing me to open another lifeline for other quests started. I am now losing 3 quests because this lifeline won't expire. This is not fun and will make it impossible to meet the requirements for 2 FC. This is the only way I can afford to buy FC facilities or tools to play this game. So frustrating makes me want to play something less difficult. Thanks

Hi cfalke,
I am sorry but the life lines are assigned randomly just as the quests are. If you wish to make a suggestion about changing that please post it in the Suggestions section instead of in the Feedback section. There is a thread there for suggestion about quests.

Just opened my 3rd quest in a row that I do not have the facility to complete and simply cannot afford to purchase. I know you say they are assigned "randomly" but I own over 150 facs, so it's strange as to why I would "hit" 3 in a row, and it makes it impossible to complete 8 quests within 7 days. Still a great need to have a way to ignore a quest, even if you're not assigned another one for a day. It's just plain stupid for a player to have to look at quests you cannot complete for 5-6-7 days on end.

so you think that's bad.. When I opened my regular quest, the 8th one was for a facility and the product I don't own (which meant I'd have to buy TWO). Don't think I'd spend 64FC to get 2... so I waited and opened the next one quickly as I could and it was for the brand new reading facility which I didn't even know was out yet and the quest will take a whole day. .. so I'm ...SOL.
Opened my co-quest and the 13th one was for a fac I don't own and the very next one was also. Feels like more than a coincidence, don't you think?

I had 13 completed coop quests 2 days ago , they said i would have to claim later so i waited . It was time to claim at 2;30 am so i was asleep ! . Got up this morning and looked at it and it said i had 11 completed !!! Are we being ripped off or what ? Seeing my 13 were complete , how dare you expire any completed quests ? This happened to a friend as well ,so it is obvious to me that it is a stalling tactic and my time is too precious to wast on futile quests ! Just finished 2 more quests and it said i had 14 completed , claimed 2 FC and none remained ???

Hello Jodyr,
Quests are only good for 7 days after the last step has been completed, so if you have any quests that gets complete shortly after you collected your last FC then if you waited to collect your FC sometime after you are eligible to collect your FC those quests could drop off since they would be over 7 days old. We suggest that when you collect your FC wait at least a day before starting the last step of any quest as long as there is still time on the quest, this will give you some extra time before you need to collect before any quests drop off and if you wait to start the last step, then you could wait and collect your FC later to a time that is better for you to collect.

I too have loved doing the quests. But since you added FC for the co-op quests, I cannot complete nearly as many quests as I used to. Right now I have 5 quests open that need facilities I do not own to complete. I can' buy lots of cash facilities and this is spoiling the co-op quests for me. Last week, I think it was 6 quests that I couldn't complete.
I don't really think this is random. Or else I've been extremely unlucky that last two weeks.

Hello littlesallysanctus,
I looked at your data and the data shows that you collected your FC on 3/2/15 at 8:26 pm Eastern time and the computer would look back 7 days which would be 02/23/15 at 8:26 pm Eastern time. Your data shows you had 12 completed quests within this time and one quest that was completed on 2/23/15 at 7:33 pm Eastern time dropped off due to being over 7 days old.

Hi Sally,
For both types of quests they are only good for 7 days exactly from the time the last step is completed. If you wait beyond that time then a quest will no longer be good for collecting the farmcash. It is as simple as that. If you want to be sure you don't lose quests then try waiting at least a day after you collect before you complete the last step of any quests you have carrying over. That way you have a day to collect next time without losing one.

The co-op quest are so confusing, yesterday I had 13 quest finished waiting to be cashed in. so this morning I had 11. I also had 3 that I just finished yesterday and didn't want to cash in until I collected for the 13 and when I went in this morning to add them to my this weeks list it says I wasn't able to add since they were 7 days old. I work really hard trying to get these quest then to loose all my hard work almost makes you want to quite.

Hi ginnymae,
I am sorry but holding the quests by not collecting the coins does not work as the quests are completed when the last step is complete. The way to hold quests over for the new week is to not start the last step until after you collect your farmcash. The co-op quests work the same way the regular quests do for collection of farmcash. Your quests all have to be completed within the past 7 days exactly to the second. If you wait to collect until a quest is 7 days and 1 minute since it was completed it will not count.

Knight Rider::: A question I have been trying to get an answer for, and I always get an answer around the question. When you plant a day crop, it is ready in 20 hours, When working the quest, is a day 20 hours or 24 hours. When you say 7 days, is it
168 hours or 140 hours.?? Hope this makes sense
Hi gingerbread,
Knightrider isn't available right now so let me see if I can answer this to your satisfaction. Crop, tree, and flower growth time of 1 day is 20 hours in Farm Town. You are correct on that.
In the quests though it is 7 normal days (24 hours each day) which would be 168 hours. That is only for the time a quests is valid for farmcash and the length of the week that you have to wait between collecting the farmcash. Crops needed in a quest will still be grown and ready at the Farm Town day rate (20 hours per day).

This probably isn't the right place for this and I apologize ahead of time. Due to the negativity I have seen in this particular forum, I want to thank the developers for this game. I appreciate the time and effort put into a game that is free to the public, and the only thing asked of the players is to use their FC to purchase facilities and tools to make the game more diverse and easier on the player. I for one don't mind spending $20-40 every couple of months to purchase FC. Would I purchase more if there was a sale? Of course! Do I require it in order to play? No!
I love the quests-both coop and regular. I am still learning how to work them to get the most for my time, and I am happy to report that my strategy last week paid off this week, and I was able to collect 2 FC! Woohoo!!! I am also learning that your buddy list is a great way to fulfill what you need for coop quests if your neighbors either don't play the coop quests or don't have the items you are seeking. I have some really great neighbors who also participate in the coop quests, and they are awesome in helping me out when I get stuck on an item. I've even picked up new neighbors from my buddy list in letting them know when we have a similar or same coop quest, or pointing them in the direction of another player on my buddy list that has the same coop quest.
Thank you again developers for your time, effort and joy in putting this game together and keeping it fresh and interesting!

For well over a day I had 8 quests done but not 7 days past so it would not allow claiming the 2 FC. An hour before the 7 days I HAD to leave to attend religious services and when I returned a few hours later one of my quests was GONE, expired, so I only got 1 FC. I had EARNED TWO!!!!
Either allow redemption of eight finished quests even before 7 days go by or allow some extra time (12 hours?) before finished quests expire. WHY must I lose out on a FC I had EARNED because I could not babysit the game every minute of every day?!
I KNEW this was going to happen and was helpless to fix it unless I stayed home & missed church to SAVE the 1 additional FC. CRAZY!!!!
UNFAIR! Blatantly unfair!!!!

Why does the mayor give quests that we can not complete mainly due to the fact that we do not have that facility? I own most all facilities that can be bought with coins. Why must the others require FC? I love this game but can't afford to be dumping that much real money into it.

Hi glockman:)
Both, quests and life lines, are random. The game doesnt "look" which facilities you have or if the life line you got is going to help you.

Hi John:)
I'm sorry this has happened to you, but you know quests only stay on the chart for exactly 7 days to the second.
That is why we always suggest, that after collecting your farmcash, do not complete the first quest for the new week until the following day. That way you will have enough time in case you cant enter the game.
If you want to make a suggestion, please post it in our Suggestion section, you cant open a new thread there but you can post as a response to a thread that fits with your suggestion.

Why doesn't the cash just credit to our account when we've completed our required number in seven days? Twice now I've missed out on claiming my cash because I was busy with this thing called Life and unable to claim the cash until it was too late.
Why not save your loyal players a whole lot of frustration and just make the cash auto credit when we get it? That's how other games do it.

Guess this is more of a gripe than a problem, but lately I am getting quest that I cannot complete because I do not have the final facility or do not have the facility or lake or seacoast needed for an ingredient for the quest. Presently I have three open quests that I cannot complete. I thought that originally quests were going to be matched somewhat to your farm and facilities owned. This is getting to be frustrating.

Hi Tom,
I moved your post to the feedback thread about quests since it is not a question. The quests are randomly assigned and it does not check or know what facilities you have or don't have.

I totally quit doing the regular quests due to the following problem. AND before anyone feels the need to remind me the computer generates randomly all quests I KNOW that.
What totally burns my grits is the fact that prior to FC being awarded for regular quests I may have the animal remedy quest perhaps 1x in 3 or even 4 weeks. Once the award of FC started I was getting that quest at least 1 time per week, sometimes 2 times in same week. After that began and seemed to continue I TOTALLY QUIT regular quests.
I used to LOVE the CoOp quests. Had fun and totally enjoyed them. THEN came the FC awards and yes it began with 1 time per week at least 1 make some silly remedy, I'd let it die. REFUSE to purchase a FC factory that gives me such a tiny return as this one seems to do per those who purchased it. AND the type of crops needed, more short growing time crops, no thank you.
Then low and behold was getting the LOAD those remedies maybe 2 or 3 a week. Broke down and bought the Clinic since I would be purchasing needed items from friends AND it cost a couple dollars less than that factory.
NOW? Oh the computer is so random with FC needed factory quests that just this week have had 3 to manufacture remedies! Did have 1 remedy to load, brought that clinic out of storage and completed that one, then back to storage.
What I find extremely strange about these "random computer generated" quests is the fact that once I bought the Animal Clinic those quests are now few and far between BUT the quest to MAKE the remedies are hitting me hard. I'm feeling the computer "randomly" is generating them to "force" me to purchase what I do not want. I am NOT alone in thinking this BTW.
I'll open new for my neighbors who may need items but won't waste my coins buying when the end result will be no FC due to the couple completed dropping off as "stale" before I can do enough to earn even 1 FC. Remember I have 3 I can't do taking needed space waiting for them to go away.
Perhaps if I wait 7 days past this group of 7 days to do any quests I'll be out of the loop to PRODUCE remedies.. Once can only hope, right?
As many are saying animal remedy quests may be random but then "random" can be manipulated. With others commenting once they purchased both animal remedy facilities so as not to be so frustrated they've had extremely FEW remedy quests since. THIS has me quite suspicious about the so called randomness. IF was only 1 friend mentioning the much fewer remedy quests since their purchases I think I was paranoid.
Now off to file a ticket about the loss of some FC.
Sorry about my ranting here, as I said I am NOT the only disgusted LONG time (early 2009) farmer noticing how "random" appears to be working these days.

Hi campcryer,
The quests are assigned by the program randomly. Sometimes you are going to get quests you cannot complete, because it does not look to see what facilities you own.

I, too, have a gripe about the fact that I am also getting quests that I cannot complete because I do not have the final facility or do not have whatever is needed for an ingredient for the quest. Presently I have two open co-op quests that I cannot complete. These quests should be matched to our farm and facilities owned. Random is not so 'Random' in my personal opinion. More like manipulation. If I want the FC facilities I would have them by now. I am certainly not going to be forced to buy them to complete a quest, whether it is a standard or co-op quest.
Some changes are needed urgently. If random needs to be part of this game, then PLEASE randomize among the facilities we own. I have stopped buying Farm $$ because of this. Besides, many of us cannot afford to. So please stop basing this game around the rich.
Beyond Frustrating.
Lorraine.
PS. While it is true.. no one has to do the quests... that is not relevant. The problem with the set up is that while we are being given quests we cannot do, it is clogged up so we can't receive ones we can do.. until those useless ones expire. If we have already completed quests we lose the ability to earn our farm cash because they are pushed out as if we haven't done them at all. So the developers need to randomize the quests around the facilities WE DO OWN.

I had 8 quests completed for at LEAST 2 days but could not claim the 2 FC because I had to wait 7 days. While I wasn't looking 7 days came and a completed quest expired so I only got 1 FC.
This is the second time this has happened!!!
Why can't we get the 2 FC when we have the 8 quests complete. If the next 7 days have ro wait fine but I HAD EIGHT so I had EARNED TWO FC! Or at least let completed quests stay "alive" for an extra day or two so we don't lose the FC.
It would only be FAIR!!!!

I also find it frustrating about the fact that I am getting quests that I cant complete because I do not have the final facility and so far have got 3 in a row - ok now and then to get them but 3 in a row ?? as I cant do them I now have to wait until expire which means if I get any more then it fills up and I will not be able to do any until the others expire..... also when trying to help others you see buy on ingredients that we can buy but no need to buy as cant do that quest as of last facility so just a waste....... it would be good if we could have option to remove that quest if we cant do them...... even if we dont get option to get another quest that is fine (as being fair would be too easy to pick and choose) but I am saying just the option to delete just as to take it off the list then free up space for the others and also dont have to keep seeing the buy and trying to remember which I need and which I dont so I dont buy when not needed..... (hope that makes sense in words..lol) just a delete too remove and still have to wait same time for next quest............

Hi kqrs,
I am sorry, but on April 3rd you collected your farmcash at 17:47 (5:47 PM) eastern time. Today you collected your farmcash at 22:03 (10:03 PM). That is over 4 hours extra that you waited after the time you could collect. On the 3rd of April you completed a quest at 21:29 (9:21 PM). Since you didn't collect tonight until 22:03 then that quest no longer counted because you waited an extra 4 hours before collecting.
This is why we recommend that you not complete the last step of any quests until the next day after you collect. That way you have a buffer of time incase you can't collect when it is time.

After you collect your farm cash do NOT start the last step of any non completed quests for at least 24 hours. That gives you a buffer in case you can't collect on your normal time. It's a game...... :)

I don't think it's very fair to give people a co-op quest from a new facility on the same day as it's released, especially when it includes Chia which takes 4+ days to grow (fortunately I didn't get stuck with it, but one of my neighbours did). Sheesh, just about all of us haven't even had a chance to get anything from the latest facilities, let alone hope to get and/or give help completing a quest from one of them. Not being the first time this has happened, thought I should drop you a line and ask if you might think about waiting a few days before slapping us with one of these quests?
Just a thought. :)

Hello TheaBard,
If it is a basic ingredient like planted items or animal items then you can buy it from a neighbor or go to the market place and buy it from a stranger. If it isn't a basic ingredient then you would just have to let that quest expire. All lifelines are selected randomly.

Wow I never counted up how many FC facilities there are in the game. Add to that all the FC tools heavens. TYVM for telling us how many there are because now I KNOW I'll not be buying the last 2, Dessert and Brazilian restaurants. The number of tools I have that are costly as well as the 131 out of the possible 135 FC facilities has me putting the brakes on spending more...........
FarmTown is one of the most expensive online games to play. Rewards are very tough to get which is borne out by the fact that more than 50% of one's neighbors give up and stop playing in a short period of time because they are so discouraged.
FT is also extremely time consuming. I play 2 other Fb games that require little more than about 30 minutes a day commitment and I'm leveling up every other day or two on those games. One of the games has gems for rewards and the game developers are EXTREMELY receptive to the players suggestions and problems and even compensate their players with gems when the game crashes on rare occasion.
I've had a problem on FT with one of my neighbors for more than a month and have yet to have anyone get back to be with a solution. I can receive gifts from this neighbor but she does not receive any of the gifts I send her. We have been neighbors for years and this just started recently.
I've personally struggled to level up over the past 4 months - it's very discouraging. When I calculated how many FC I needed to buy just the tools to get to the 6 X 6 level it's mind boggling. Have you tried layered fishing with a basic boat!!! The quests are the only way I can supplement the FC at level up and only about every 3rd quest is one I can complete so it's very slow getting anywhere.
It's also rather upsetting when players on the highest level with all the big tools get co-hired with a low level player and they grab everything thus effectively taking 95% of the work away from the low level player that needs the XP. This used to be such a nice social game where players helped each other, now it just seems to be see who can get the most for themselves even when they don't need the XP as they are on the highest level and own every tool in the shed.
So yes, I agree with those that posted before me that the quests are complex and the requirements make no sense at times and even less sense when one cannot voluntarily quit a 6 day quest even though they have no hope of completing it. When 3 such quests pop up in a row it pretty much wipes out the whole week.

Here are a few of my thoughts.
Yes, the game of Farm Town is or can be very expensive if you absolutely have to have all of the latest time saving gadgets. I don't own half of them and I am at the highest level attainable so far. I play the game for fun and the challenge of learning design from my own attempts, the instructions given and from my neighbors and other players.
Perhaps I am more laid back than others but I am not interested in "grabbing all the experience points" I can when working another farm. I work solo only and let that be known up front when hired. I do not hire other farmers to harvest my farms because I have been disappointed so many times by workers who leave my farm before the job is done making it my job to finish up or hire another farmer to complete the job. I don't need the stress nor do I look for it.
On the subject of quests....... I agree that they can be very frustrating and completing 8 quests in 7 days is almost impossible so I don't even try any more. I just complete three of them and happily take my one coin. Not a big deal.
Occassionaly I get frustrated and purchase a tool that makes farming easier but not very often. Farm Town is not a simple game. I have found over the years that it takes a lot of thought and time to achieve the kind of success that makes me feel like I am doing the job right and to my own expectations. The game is as time consuming as you make it and I don't make it all that time consuming as I have other things to do and enjoy. If you stop enjoying what you are doing then stop doing it! It's that simple.
It's just a game.

Hi jeanie0616:)
You cant use a crop from your own storage for your cooperative quest. You need to visit your neighbors cooperative managers and look for it.
We also have an open thread for help with cooperative quests. There you can search for item you cant buy among you neighbors or using the help notes. Only remember that the farmers posting on that thread are strangers, so you will pay more coins for any item.
Here is the link to that thread

I have been doing Co-op quests for a while now and would like to point out/suggest something. To help our neighbours, quests are left open as long as possible but this seems to have a detrimental effect on the most hard to come by/ maintain sufficient quantities of items such as crude oil , kaolin clay rock , petrochemical barrels and plastic granules to name a few. Also if we get a quest we are unable to complete which requires these products there is no way of preventing our own stocks diminishing. Either could the production of these items be increased or a way developed to delete that particular quest ? I really enjoy helping my neighbours as this has always been a social game but fear that less farmers will continue participating with the quests if it continues to be detrimental to our own quantities regardless of the much needed farm cash available. Thank you for reading :)

I know this issue has been raised before.. and the response is always the same..'quests are random'... I have never believed that line and am now convinced of the inaccuracy.... I have always been annoyed with the fact that quests target facilities that aren't owned... and the FC ones... it happens too frequently to be chance... now in the last 3 days, 2 quests, identical and in the only facility I don't own... because it was in the latest release.... that's right 2 days out of 3 the same quest and in the ONLY facility I don't own.... is this the first time??... no it has been a regular event.... I have bought plenty of FC as I am happy to pay a fair remuneration for playing.. the only game I play.... but I like most do not have a never ending supply of cash and as i have been playing since the beginning no longer have levels to gain FC and with new levels being so slow to be released, for some unknown reason... and the release of new facilities EVERY month... I am again thinking I will give the quests the flick.... all of them and go back to just farming when the mood takes me... no need to ever buy FC again.... seems like the wrong way to be going for the devs as speaking to my neighbours I am not alone in feeling this way... might I suggest a rethink on this tactic.. long term players are the ones who have shown their loyalty and you should be doing whatever to keep them... not drive them away....

Hi farm town addiction,
I moved your post to the General Feedback thread about quests because you are not asking a question, but are stating an opinion.
I am sorry you feel that way, but they are randomly assigned by the program using a random number generator. There isn't a human sitting there deciding what quest to give you because you don't own a particular facility.
farm town addiction
Jun 14 2015, 10:14 PM
I didn't imagine there was a 'human' sitting there making the allocation... I surmised it was done by a programmed generator... That being the case it needs to be reprogrammed as my complaint above occurs way too often to be mere 'chance'... meaning it is programmed that way... that out of all the possible quests it just randomly allocates 2 from the same facility??? and they are the same quest and the facility is unowned...and this occurs regularly.... the programming needs to be fixed ....
Update.... now also have 2 of 3 co-op quests for the new Aussie rest.... so that is 4 of 6 quests for the same facility... the only one I don't own... and yes I do believe the algorithm used to allocate quests is deliberately set to 'encourage' players to buy facilities.... and this is why so many of my neighbours are giving it away... and now so am I....

I see the more I play the quests, the more that I have to buy facilities with farm cash. I have spent way too much to keep up with the quests already. I think the facilities if not already acquired should at least allow for coin collection if not able to finish the quest due to lack of facility. Quests should equal what a player has in their facility acquirement already and not be forced to do one after the other, 4 in a row already that farm cash is required to purchase the facility to finish quest. Please can this be worked on?

Your suggestion needs to be put in the Suggestion section rather than in the feedback section so the developers will see them along with all the other suggestions. You can not start a new thread there but you can reply to one that fits your suggestion.

I hate the lifelines. All I ever get are the two that help none what so ever with the final quest. The way these lifelines are doled out is really unfair and very frustrating. I've been getting a lot of quests lately where I do not have the facility and cannot afford to buy them.

Hi uneekrose,
None of the lifelines work for the final step. The lifelines like the quests are given out randomly.

A human does not have sit at a computer and send out quests based upon what we do NOT have available, especially the final step facilities sold via FC. Programs or codes surely have been created to do that on a regular basis. I do not know of one player who believes the quests are random.
That said, if quests were easy why not just hand out 4 FC/week to every player over a certain level and forget the clicks. I enjoy figuring out the fastest way to complete the quests, even those heinous 34 year ones involving wine........ but it is so easy for me to say because I am (fortunately) able to purchase all the facilities. For those who cannot I repeat a plea I have seen MANY times before on these forums: offer FC facilities at a HIGH coin rate (similar to farm extensions) so that, at least in theory, all facilities are available to all players.

Im regularly given the gift lifeline, which to be honest is neither use nor ornament really, I have the facilities to complete the final step but Im not paying for things like a $25 lake so I can just catch a crab!
Its annoying, especially if I have the facility. Neither are asparagus available as a gift which is also on the same quest!
Its rubbish.

Hi YoMomma,
The gift lifeline can also be used with Ingredient Requests. So all you have to do is make an ingredient request for a product that has the item you need as an ingredient.

I have purchased all of the facilities I could buy with coins and have spent a lot of money on those I must purchase with fc, however, currently I have all 5 of my coop quests tied up with facilities that I must purchase to finish and 1 of the regular quests that needs a facility purchased to complete. Seriously??? I am retired and on a fixed income and I don't plan on purchasing any more farm cash anytime soon. You have effectively taken me out of the coop quest part of the game.

Hi Farmer Donner,
I have moved your post to the feedback thread about quests as you are not asking a question about them. I am sorry this has happened but the quests are randomly assigned. The only thing you can do is to wait for one of them to expire.

I understand how the Quests works, and very much enjoy the challenge, with the exception of a couple pesky features. (1) randomness that brings up the need for a facility I do not have, I'd like to see "decline" or "remove" option, even if limited to 1 opt-out per week. And (2) The Lifeline should not be 1 per week, based on the notion just this morning I've errantly used my Lifeline on the Quest that's been sitting in my box for about 4 days (with 3 to go) that I cannot finish because of that facility thing. Only $1 or $2 FC prize involved, this results in a lot of wasted game time. TY for the space.

Hi Firinn,
If you are trying to make suggestions then you need to put them in the Suggestion section and not in Feedback. The developers will be more likely to see it there. You cannot start a new thread there but you can reply to one that fits your suggestion.
I will tell you that the lifelines are not limited to 1 per week. They are limited to only 1 at a time. If you get a quest, use a lifeline and finish the quest in a day then you can get another life line as soon as that quest is completed.

Why is it that when I open my quest manager it says 'Updating Facility Ownership' or something to that affect yet I have 3 quests that I don't own the facilities to complete?
I don't think it is right that we get quests for facilities that we don't own.

Hi BunnelBrat,
I moved your post to the thread for Feedback on Quests. The purpose of updating the facility ownership is so you can click on the Open to be able to start production needed for the quest from the quest manager instead of having to do it through the facility manager. Quests are assigned randomly and not by what facilities you own.

seems like every time I need one more quest to complete my 8, another one comes up that requires a FC facility to complete. And seems like they're mostly 7 day quests so that they seem to stay there forever. Why can't we just delete those?

2 days in a row, 4 of last 5. Sure makes it hard to complete quests. Interesting thing is that 3 of these is a facility to produce Olive oil. One that is totally useless, apparently except for doing quests.

The olive oil is a very useful product as it is used to produce another 47 products in different facilities.

I agree, I was close to 2 FC but then the next 2 quests were for facilities I don't own and are FC ones to boot. I do NOT think this is fair. I had to settle for 1 cash.
Oddly, I might have gotten the 2 FC had I gotten 2 quests I could do but I had previously finished 2 quests on the same day and would have lost those had I waited for 2 more new quests. Don't tell me this is random.
On top of that one loses all the other finished quests that were NOT needed to get that 1 FC. Again I don't think this is fair either.
I am also fairly certain the one for 2 FC had the number of quests increased recently. What's next, increase it to 15 or even higher?

Hi Priscillar,
The quests are assigned randomly as you know. The checking for facilities is only so it knows if you have the facility or facilites for the Open button.
Also, the number of quests needed to collect 2 farm cash has not changed. It has been 8 for the regular quests to get 2 farm cash and 13 for the co-operative quests to get 2 farm cash since the beginning of the farm cash reward for each type.

This has happened to me now for the third time. I am getting quests with factories that i can't do because of the level. Level 164, means i can't do factories quests with level 287! Why is farmtown giving me these quests? This causes me to lose out on coins which now is 3. Can i get back what i lost? and can this be corrected???

Hi butternut,
When you start a quest, hover your mouse over the last step. That will tell you what facility you need to complete the quest. If you don't own, can't or won't buy the facility then don't bother with doing the rest of the steps.

Unfortunately that can't be helped. The quests are assigned randomly. It doesn't look to see what facilities you own when it generates what quest you are going to get.

The instructions say to reload FarmTown if you have gathered all the ingredients for a quest and the LOAD only button is available instead of BATCH number.
I do a quest a day. I can't get 2 farmcash because 2 out 5 quests end up with my not being able to finish them because they just say LOAD. I hit Load and it says for instance 2 hrs and then when I close it and come back it didn't start the last finished product because there was no batch just LOAD. this has been going on since last winter. I can't seem to get anyone to see what the problem is. It has to be a glitch.

Hi Pfness,
I can't say that I have ever seen any of the buttons in facilities only say Load. They will say Start Batch or Load Batch. I don't know what instructions you are referring to about reloading Farm Town if you have a Load only button. If you could post a screenshot showing what exactly you are talking about then that might help. Instructions on how to post a screenshot are in the following thread link:
http://www.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=601262
If when you go to a facility or service to Start or Load a batch of a product and that service or Facility is full with pending production for that product then you cannot start that product until the first batch previously started is completed. A facility or service can only hold 100% pending product of any one product. The Start Batch or Load Button is always visible but if you click on it and there isn't a spot to load that batch then you will see the text at the top tell you that you can only have X number of batches in that facility meaning that the batch was not started.
If this happens you can post your facilities or service to a neighbor and have them work them so you can empty some space to be able to start a batch for your quest or you can wait the time for one batch to finish and then will be able to start the one you need for your quest.

1. We need a way to delete quests we can't do because we can't afford to buy all the buidings.
2. On the cooperative quests you can get 1 farm cash for 4 finished projects or 2 for 13. Not sure who figured that out, but it's very hard to do 13 when you work or can't buy all the expensive buildings.
3. My BIGGEST complaint is that I had finished 7 quests. So I cashed in for 1 farm cash but it took ALL my quests away. Why would you do that? Leave me the ones I'm working on so I can earn more cash!
I like this game, but some of the inner workings are frustrating. I want more buidings but I can't afford to purchase all of them. <sigh> Anyone want to gift me some? :)

Hi Windella,
Let me see if I can answer you:
1. You and others have already asked for this in the Suggestions. The only thing we can do is wait to see if the developers decide they like the idea and add it.
2. The numbers were decided by the developers based on the fact that co-operative quests can be started every 10 hours. That would be 16 a week if you were able to do so.
3. Even if they didn't take all of the quests off at one time when you collect, the remaining quests would no longer be good for the next week because each quest is only good for 7 days after the last step is completed. If any quests do not have the last step completed when you collect your farm cash they are not taken away. The last step is not the collection of the coins, but is the last box in the quest.

I'm sorry this has happened to you
I checked your data and you collected farmcash on August 20 at 08:07 eastern time. Then you completed your first quest for this week that same day at 09:07 eastern time. So when you entered today at 10:13 that quest had dropped off the chart because for it the 7 days have past.
We always suggest to not complete a new quest after colleting cash, till the following day, that way you will have enough time in case you could have a problem entering the game.:)

Yes. Thanks for learnin me Taz! I'm new to co-ops and understand better now. We'll give it a shot.
I am, for the first time since I've started, behind on the purchase of facilities. I just don't want anymore! There's way to many. The ones I don't own I just really don't have a desire for but I can see how this will hinder my quest capabilities. A frustration one has to live with I suppose.

I don't understand, I had 8 quests when I went to bed, when I got up 2 had expired. It's been exactly 7 days how have they expired already. There needs to be a time period before they retire. I just don't understand this and this isn't the first time this has happened. It's like the blue claim farm cash flashes on and they automatically expire. I took a screen shot but I see no way to post it. I mean if you have one or two that are set to expire exactly on the 7th day at a the same time your button turns blue why even bother.

I always try to finish that first one so I'll be awake and online. For example my 1st one now will be exactly 7 days old 7 days from now when the button will turn blue so I can claim my fc. But also in exactly 7 days before I even get out of bed it will also expire, this is the way it's been going. Doesn't seem right that the 1st one should expire so quickly.

Hi uneekrose,
Quests expire exactly at 7 days to the second from the time the last step is completed. If the last step is completed on Saturday at 10:34 AM then the following Saturday at 10:34 that quest will expire. This is why we say wait a day after you have collected your farm cash to complete any quest last steps. That way you will not have them expire shortly after the collect farm cash button turns blue.

Ok, I just finished my first quest toward my 7 days. It will be ready Sept. 6 at 8:20 am. I found a time date calculator online. I'm trying to figure all this out since I'm tired of losing quests. So the first one expires in exactly 7 days because the the 7 day timer doesn't start till you finish that first quest... right?

Hi uneekrose,
From the times you list I am guessing you are in the central time zone. When you click to collect the program looks back exactly 7 days from that time to determine how many quests you have completed. From what I see in your data, you collected 2 farm cash today at 8:54 eastern time. So the program looked back 7 days to 8:54 on the 23rd of August. The timer for the button is also reset at that time meaning your next earliest time you can collect will be on Sep 6th at 8:54. That does not mean you have to collect exactly at that time. The 7 days is a floating time. If you wait until later to collect next time then the program will still only look back 7 days exactly.
You have completed 1 quest and it was completed at 9:24 today. That means that quest will expire at 9:24 on Sep 6th. So that means you only have an extra 30 minutes to collect your farm cash from 8:54 to 9:24 and not lose this quest. That is not much leeway for you to get your other quests completed. This is why we say wait a day before you complete that last step on any quests after you have collected your farm cash.
I would suggest since you have that timer app that you set it for Sep 6th at 8:54 and collect as quickly as you can after that time.

I collected 2 fc but only because I had some quests waiting that I hadn't finished the last task, I was able to finish two in an hours time and therefore get my 8 quests. I will pay more attention to the time table, I just didn't realize they would expire so soon. Thank you Taz.

Hi YoMomma,
The gift lifeline can also be used with Ingredient Requests. So all you have to do is make an ingredient request for a product that has the item you need as an ingredient.
Oh sweet! Just answered my question. Thanks. I was thinking the gift lifeline was pretty useless as 95% of the items one might need are not on the gift page. So.....much better now.

Today, in fact at 7:30 CT PM I checked how many days my oldest CoOp quest was. I knew I had days before it would expire because I NEVER complete a quest on the same day I collect FC.
Been keeping a close eye lately because I had an experience with losing a completed quest and was sure it was lost before the exact 7 days were up for that particular one. Well I now know for sure I made no mistake with that one. How? oh I now keep a very close eye on my times. So imagine my shock to come on here at 11:30 PM CT and discover my oldest is GONE! Wow I know time flies but really this is ridiculous.
So in the interest of my proving my point from now on by God I will be using my "Snip It" tool to record completed quests DAILY, date of each picture BTW is automatically recorded by the program. Oh ya, ALL completed quests will show with the days too. We will be taking our pictures EACH day so as to be sure there is no reason anyone can say we made a mistake.
I've seen people's complaints within the many groups on FB about this very same thing. People keep records, report and low and behold FT comes up with "proof" of their customer's error. Until the program "SNIP IT" Slash , we your clients had no way to prove your clocks and or your program was off. Now we do, complete with dated pictures!
OK I've blown off steam....thanks for allowing me to.

Hi GarrettHill Babe,
Unless you give us a link to your farm then there isn't anyu way for us to verify anything you have said here to see if you are correct. Please provide a link to your farms so we can check this. Going to your farm and copying the address does not work as that is a generic link that takes us to our own farms. The automatic linking does not work either so you will have to create one and paste it here in a reply. Please follow the instructions on how to do that are in the following link:
http://r1.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=579554
Please note that Snip-it will only record pictures at the time you have your Farm Town open. So if you are taking a snapshot at the time you are collecting the coins that will not show the correct time of when the quest was completed. It is not completed when you collect the coins, but is complete when the last step of the quest is finished.
If the last step completes at say 8:30 PM on Sunday, but you wait to collect the coins until 7:30 AM the next day then the quest is added to the chart on Sunday and not Monday and will expire on the next Sunday at 8:30 PM not at 7:30 AM on Monday.

When we feel we need to do this much extra work to get a measly 1 or 2 game cash is it really worth it? The game is no longer fun but more like a job.
I know I've lost not only game cash doing quests but crops and facilities too. I don't care much for being cheated and I don't think anyone else does either.
I have friends who have said the same thing.
Take us at our word and fix your game and make it work right.

Taz, you are missing the point here. FT SKIPPED day 6 on my quests! My quests went from 5 (FIVE) straight to over 7 (SEVEN) in a matter of 3, that's THREE HOURS!
Taz, since we ARE taking our pictures to show DAYS such as I DID and have a quest listed as being COMPLETED only FIVE days prior to the time checked this evening AND as you can plainly see in the picture here no longer is there a FIVE day or even a SIX day completed quest it clearly shows an ERROR was made on the technology end of FT....Glitches occur we all know BUT not to own up to what is clearly an error or glitch is just wrong!
YES our pictures WILL show the powers that be the shall we say glitches occurring. YES with our pictures of our quests completed per the clicking of the "show Quests" button we WILL have proof of when completed. Remember ALL pictures taken by the tool are dated. So you see when there are for instance 12 CoOp quests completed with the OLDEST being 5 (FIVE) days old AND the nest day there are suddenly only 10 quests with the oldest now being 4 (FOUR) days old and that quest that just say even 23 hours prior was showing as 5 (FIVE) days old is now showing as being beyond 7 days....we have proof of the game's glitch!
Sorry Taz will not link my farms here, did that a few years ago, lost stuff so never again. Pictures with the days up to the 7th day and not thru the 7th day BTW, with date and time taken of FT's "Show Quests" each day will have to be the proof of an internal error within the FT game itself.

Since you will not give me a link to your farms so we can check on this and see if what you are saying is true then I have moved your posts to the General Feedback as we have no way to confirm what you or Priscillar are saying. If you wish to send me the link in a PM message here then I will gladly check your data and see if there is a problem.
I am sorry, but there isn't any way to fix a problem if we do not have concrete information from the data for your account to send to the developers. If you want us to send a problem to the developers then we need to be able to show them there is a problem.

Hi Priscilla,
The Goggles were completed at 1:22 AM on the 16th eastern time. The headdress was completed a few minutes later at 1:25 AM eastern time.
If your time zone is behind (like pacific or mountain time) then that would be the difference. The problem is the difference in the time zones because all the data is stored based on eastern time zone where Slashkey is located. That is not a glitch but the system is designed that way, because the data has to all be stored in the same time zone to keep it all in the correct perspective. Why it showed as on the 15th first I am not sure, but it is not something that is preventing you from getting credit for those quests.

Hi Priscilla,
They showed on Tuesday because your date on your computer had not changed over to Wednesday. Please note that the current day showing is the one to the far right of the chart. This is why they showed up first on Tuesday. If your computer was on Wednesday when they were actually completed then your would have seen it as the last day to the right and they would have shown on that day instead. This is not a glitch with the game.

Hi Priscilla,
What time zone are you in? That would be the only thing that would make any difference on what day they are recorded on. The data is recorded at the time you complete the last step, but is recorded in eastern time.
The pictures you are attaching to your posts are thumbnails and really too small to see well enough to make out what we are looking at.

There IS a problem with the Slashkey's time and it's not my computer's time which matches every one in this house and the TV.
If a quest is finished on Wednesday then it should SHOW Wednesday as soon as I completed them and not Tuesday.
BTW Eastern Time is one hour later than Central Time. Headdress was finished Wednesday at approximately 12:29:28 AM which would be 1:29:08 AM ET.
The issue of time is moot because it showed them first finished on Tuesday and not Wednesday.
Then Slashkey's clock changed it from Tuesday to Wednesday a bit later. Any time after 12 AM would be the next day, in this case Wednesday. This has nothing to do with time zones at all.

Hi Priscilla,
Your times you are saying would be correct and that is exactly the way it was recorded in your data. Why then does the chart show Tuesday as the last day to the right when it should have said Wednesday? Did you have the quest manager open before midnight waiting on those quests to complete? If that is the case then the quest manager cannot update the chart to shift the days to place Wednesday as the last day in the chart. SInce the current day was not showing in the chart then it placed it on the "current" day which in this case was Tuesday. Had you closed and then reopen the quest manager after midnight then they would have been place on Wednesday.
You say they were completed at 12:29AM central and the data records it completed at 1:29 AM eastern then the information is correct. I fail to see this is a problem.

Have a couple of question re co-operative quests
Firstly the Coop Quest thread search function does not allow 3 letter words like tea or cod.
Is there any possiblilty that the search tool could be reconfigured to fix that ??
http://r1.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5999466
Also, would it be technically possible for the devs to add a blue dot to the blue or white box of the FB friends showing in the My Neighbour Tab at the top of the game. Although I have quite a few neighbours who do the CQs I often have to search through non -neighbour friends to find things and make a lot of wasted trips with not being able to see if they have one open or not.
These queries are not urgent - thanks :)

Hi LazyMare,
In answer to your first question the search in the forums is a part of the program used for the forum and we don't have any control how that works.
For your secind part, you would need to put that in the Suggestions section for the developers to consider whether they can do it or not. You can't start a new thread there but you can reply to an existing thread that fits your suggestion.

Hi I Try,
I am sorry this is happening. There is an intermitent glitch that shows up sometimes where a step will not start when you try it in the quests. You can try clearing the memcache and start another one, but we have found that usually doesn't work. What does work is to wait a while and try starting a single batch again. If that doesn't work then wait a little longer and try again. In this case I would not wait the full 8 hours, but only maybe 1 to check again.

Qivis, you are mixing up Java and Flash. Java is not about to have support discontinued. Beside that fact, when you use the program she is referring to, you are not using it in a browser.

Not sure why this is so but re Cooperative Quests:
I know we need others to help and we need to post-it note them to ask for that help.
BUT I usually don't get enough post-its? For example the latest CQ has 6+me steps and I only have 3 post-its? So how can I get to do that last step? We can only perform the LAST step ourselves, correct? So we need helpers for EVERY other step and don't get enough post-its to post them all? Why? And how can we then do those quests? A waste?
Also, I know this is MY problem, but ALL my friends and neighbors have quit playing! I suppose that is also an indictment of the game itself! Since I play my wife's game to get gifts and bonuses I have only ONE "active" helper while it seems I rarely get a CQ that only requires one helper. Most require 4, 5, 6 helpers which I don't have. Can the devs do anything to offer CQs with fewer steps?

John, completing co-op quests is not really that difficult. It helps if you have all the service facilities of course, and the more neighbors you have who play the quests the better. You do not need helpers for all the other steps in the quest... you can get those items from your neighbors' quests.
When I open a new co-op quest, I start by running through my neighbors' quests. Many times I can buy what I need from their quests and complete the final step right then. Sometimes I run through twice in order to pick up items that require me to have one other first. Now and then, i have to resort to adding a sticker and waiting for a neighbor to sell me something. Once in a great while I will look for what I need on one of the co-op quest pages. I've managed to collect my 2 FC consistently.

Hi JohnAlbertini,
For the help notes, yes you do need more active neighbors to help you with those, and only friends can help with those.
Personally i don't think we need more help notes as it will be less of a challenge to complete the quest.
For the step without notes you can buy from a stranger's co-op quest but it will cost considerably more than buying from a neighbor. We have a thread in social where members post their quests and farm links so if you need anything they have got you can visit their farm to buy from them. Here's the link to that section should you wish to look >>

LOL, I know, I know, LOL!
BUT FB/FT requires that neighbors be FB FRIENDS and I will not "friend" strangers. All my FB friends are ACTUAL real life friends! If I could have neighbors without them being FB Friends that would change things. Best we can do with that now is "buddy" them and that doesn't help with gifts, bonuses, quests. Oh well.

John - what you need to do is go through all your neighbours who are doing quests (they will have a blue dot on their picture) gather as many of the quest ingredients as possible then when you have enough "help" stickers for the remaining ingredients THEN use the stickers
