I layer my trees, flowers, and crops on the same space. If I didn't, I couldn't possibly grow enough stuff to maintain my facilities. It's a little lengthy to explain how to do the layering but I can send you my write-up with detailed instructions if you want. 100 is probably the highest right now, there is usually only 10 levels released at a time.

I havent found where the bamboo goes, the rest goes into the lumber mill.

Well, i assume that the bamboo doesn't go anywhere yet, i'm thinking some kinda furniture facility is coming out soon to use the lumber & bamboo, as bamboo doesn't need to be processed, there's nowhere for it to go ... yet

so, for now, just gonna build up my supplies in storage of it :)

Easy to explain, time consuming to do, I've got parts of my farm quadruple layered... You need gifts regularly though...

YAY for new levels! I was hoping I didn't bust the new highest level and I didn't! Something to strive for! Those poor neighbours of mine on over a million points... lol be a long time before they have a new level to strive for!

Looks like my mobile bill will be HUGE again this month... :rolleyes: once I reach lvl 100 only have enough for one FC facility...

Hope it stops booting me out soon though...

I want to give a big thank you for coming up with new factories just when we seem to get bored, But i have one big suggestion, i know we have 4 farms to plant, BUT as the factories come up were running out of planting space. we need more crops more room for factories , we should be allowed two more farms and ones that can only be used for crops,no building or factories to be put on them
I wouldnt have a problem if we can layer our crops,

Hey there,

Read below the recent updates to FarmTown. This list includes the new levels, gifts, facilities and path we mentioned on Thursday. Things got a little tricky over here so we ended up launching the latest update about 30 hours late, we are sorry for those who waited long hours for it.

1. Axe tool to chop Pine, Oak, Bamboo and Cinnamon trees: Notice the Oak was previously a harvestable tree producing Accorns, this is not the case anymore. From now on, Oak trees are not harvestable, you can only chop them with the Axe to produce stuff later on in your facilities. Oak tree is now at level 44. Chopped logs are used by the Sawmill or the Cinnamon Factory.

The Mayor will re-plant all chopped trees overnight, to save you the burden of doing it yourself.

2. 10 New Levels: About 30+ new items, all in coins. This includes buildings, decorations and gifts.

3. Cobblestone Path: There are another 2 paths shown in the store, locked. They will probably be released early next week. There are many more paths and some new grounds to be released probably later next week.

4. Sawmill (coins): Allows you to produce Pine and Oak lumbers from Pine and Oak logs (timbers).

5. Cinnamon Factory (27FC): Allows you to produce Cinnamon Bundles from the Cinnamon Logs. Cinnamon Bundles are currently used in the Bakery to produce Cinnamon Buns and in the Coffee Shop to produce Cinnamon Latte.

6. Tea Factory (coins): Allows you to produce Black and Green Tea Bags from the Tea crop.

7. Coffee and Tea Shop (33FC): Allows you to produce different types of drinks from Coffee, Tea, Chocolate and Milk:

-Espresso
-Brewed Coffee
-Capuccino
-Cinnamon Late
-Hot Chocolate
-Mocha
-Iced Tea
-Green Tea

8. Start production of multiple batches at once on your facilities: There is a button '+ 10' right next to the 'Start production' button in all the facilities. That button will start the production of 10 (or sometimes, less) batches with one single click.

9. Product filters in storage and market windows: This will allow you to find faster the products you are looking for. Notice that the 'non-ingredients' filter will show you all the products that can not be used as ingredients in your facilities (except fuel).

10. Ground options on the Paths/Ground section in the Store: You can now select different ground types for your fam, this is a per-farm setting. More ground types comming soon.

11. New Tea Crop.

Suddenly I get a message "congratulations, you reach a new lewel...10"

so not its 10 and not 90 on my screen.....???

They have released new levels 4 times in this game.

1st time was 35-60
2nd time was 61-80
3rd time was 81-90
4th time was 91-100

How do you get they only release 10 levels at a time.

Perhaps they will introduce levels that require more than points... like time in the game. I have friends who have been playing for a few months, are already at 60 or so, and are complaining that they can't buy (for coin) all the stuff higher levels can buy...hahahahah

Come on it is just a game. Play what you can of it that doesn't cost you anything and forget the rest. :D

Of cause if you can't, Just go to ACCOUNT, APPLICATION SETTING, and click on the X after farm town. :confused:

All your problems will be fixed with only that 1 click. :eek:

Take one less trip to McDonald's, sell something on eBay. Wear the shorts and shoes from last year instead of buying new. Don't go out in your vehicle unless to work for a week. You can find the cash if you want it. This is my one recreational expense. I'm poor, but spend a few bucks here a month so they can keep coming up with stuff.

I just think it is utterly ridiculous that there are TWO cash factories and one of which I am like WHY? Why can't the cinnamon bundles be made in the sawmill??? It makes no sense to me. Sawmill is for trees... the cinnamon trees are trees... why couldn't those two be combined? The sawmill still could have been for cash! I'm just saying that whoever is thinking out these facilities is being a little dumb :/

Also, why can't new foods be added to the old factories? Where is an option for lemonade in the juice factory??? Or prune juice? Etc. Why can't we make garlic bread in the bread factory??? *knocks on people heads over there* hellooo anyone home in there???

I also dont see why the Sushi and the seafood restaurant couldn't be combined.

I mean come on we're running out of room again :/ I know all these apps are obsessed with getting more and more money but come on you could at least be smart about it. Especially with these tree log things. There was no need for a second cash facility that produces logs too for ONE TREE. Its not even worth the cash is it???

I had slowed down on playing FT for awhile before the devs introduced the facilities but once they came it renewed my interest in playing the game . I want to congratulate the Devs on making this game mind challenging and so very very more fun in playing it!! :) I'm so happy you don't have the same mindset as the devs in FV! My comment my directed to those whining about a couple things being FC, as if the devs don't deserve to make a couple bucks here and there considering their time and efforts :D Or the people whining about this or that not being in the facilities, etc. I think the devs do an amazing job of listening to us and actually using our feedback.

As for waiting for the updates, trust me, there were lots of us hanging out here waiting.... got pretty amusing too... LMAO!! SO many good natured people made the wait definitely interesting too :D

I've been playing Farm Town for about a year and a half and the game has definitely gotten better with time. I love all the new handy features, especially the product filter and the less mouse clicking in production @ the facilities. I just wish there was a way we could earn farm dollars easily. Most of the offers for farm dollars require a purchase of things very unnecessary and the surveys are hard to complete because not everyone (if anyone) qualifies. The best items are only available through farm dollar purchase so we miss out on utilizing all of the facilities to their potential. Can you guys work on a better way for the farmers to earn farm dollars? Just saying....

Just noticed it late this morning. After harvesting my FT crops (which was after watering my real yard and plants), I checked the Store.
Great update:) :) ... even though there's nothing that I "just can't wait to get" (well even if I were at the appropriate level). The minivan and sports car will be nice additions some day. ... Oh, and the wood shed which is much more utilitarian looking than the thatched rood one.

Yup -- more single purpose facilities!! The saw mill makes sense. Not sure what a tea production factory could have been combined with so guess that makes sense, too.
But the coffee shop? Why not a country diner/restaurant which serves coffee, breakfasts, lunches and diners using many of our products and crops?

I listed most of them on page 97 as far as facilities and paths, but apparently they also added some new decorations, a bird bath and some benches that I have heard of so far.
They did -- pretty fancy stuff.

I like all the new stuff. I have spent my own money getting some of it to make it all work. I am at level 100 and only get farmcash when you add more levels or I buy it. I do not mind buying it cause it helps you develop more things. You have plenty of trees that do not produce anything further. The Plum tree and the fig tree can be further proxessed after harvest, Fog Bars. Prune Trees can be made into Prune Juice. My 4th farm is getting quite full and I am wondering if there will be any more farms added inthe future or do we have all the land that we are gonna get? as for crops Soy Beans can be made into Milk. Maybe a frozen food factory. Maybe a community store like the marketplace where we can go and buy things that we may beed for our facrotiies. A slaughterhouse for cows and Pigs. Make fresh meat sausage and ham. I will add more as I think of it.

there's new gifts too, three different types of wagon with produce in them, two new LARGER boulders (woohoo!), and um... oh yes the benches are in gifts... a bunch of new decorations, lovely outdoor fireplace :D so much to do, so little time (thank goodness it was after I got home so I wasn't distracted while, thanks again Devs :D LOL)

2nd time was 61-80
3rd time was 81-90
4th time was 91-100

How do you get they only release 10 levels at a time.

I love all the new updates. It looks like it hit right after I went to bed, and I do mean right after. :( Oh well it was nice to weak up to them this morning.



The last two level updates is all I knew about for sure. I was going on my own knowledge and since the last two updates were all that I was absolutely certain of I came to the logical conclusion that they were being released ten at a time. :)

Combining functions just isn't the direction that the developers decided to go. I more or less realized that two updates ago.

That said, I still agree with your premise, Bobby Jo. Adding functions (even if we would have to pay FT Coins and in some cases FT Cash for them) would make lots of sense, save layout space and be more realistic. However, I've stopped expecting that to happen except for maybe (maybe) one or two items such as the cinnamon buns which I've seen mentioned here.

Not that I'll stop suggesting added functions for existing facilities in the suggestions thread. I really am somewhat disappointed that the new coffee shop isn't a general purpose country diner/restaurant. Or that an appropriate building to represent one wasn't added to the decorations section. ... Drat, stuck with using those small houses to simulate my rural village diner and two together to represent my general store. ... I don't like FV and dropped it, but wish I could snag a general store and maybe the post office there and drop them onto my FT farm LOL

I would love to see more space, either by a farm expansion or by getting new farms. However, I would like to see them fairly expensive, let me tell you why. If they are cheap everyone has enough money to buy the expansion and then will be right back to the "we need more space." If the expansion (or new farm) is fairly expensive then it will take us some time to get to the expanded farm, thus giving us to strive for, not quickly get to then have time to complain. But never fear, we will complain at the top of our lungs anyway.

What exactly is it that you don't like about it? The way it is done is far more functional than just finished products tab. The way it is one can check to see how much milk, eggs, chocolate, etc. they have without having to scroll through the entire list of stuff in storage when they are getting ready to start production in their factories or getting ready to go to market.

If the rest of the options are not something you are interested in using, just don't use them.

I am so grateful for all the new things - bought the Victorian mansion and the lighthouse in the first few minutes :), and the coffee/tea shop shortly thereafter. The market tabs are sensational, and the facility production function is so much smoother. I do have to say I have one disappointment. I would much rather have had a fishing net than an axe, seeing as how so very many people expressed the wish for one. If a big harvester can harvest any crop, surely a net or a boat could harvest different types of fish. I would have paid generously for one. I am completely retiring my sushi restaurant and possibly the seafood restaurant as well because the fishing experience is so negative. I did buy the fish farm, and I have a slight amount of regret about that, but, hey, they didn't make me buy it - lol. If mods pick up on suggestions, I think this is probably the top one I have seen recently. I have posted in feedback and also suggestions, so I thought I would express it here as well. Maybe someone will pass it along. Thanks, devs, for your creativity and hard work. Well worth the wait....sure, I can say that now ;-)

Well, it's all nice and cool...for the people that have farm cash...what about the ppl that can't afford farm cash??? i've been collecting the stupid cinnamon trees so i can do something with them, but i can't buy the factory b/c it costs REAL CASH. or the coffee and tea shop. cool stuff but not for me....not fair. and i'm already running out of room, no place to plant, no place to put facilities..oh and the earn coins section, doesn't always work. i did enjoy the game until you guys came out with cash only stuff...like today :(

cos cinnamon doesn't come from the wood, cinnamon is the processed bark of the tree, so doesn't need a sawmill :)

This is something I think I will ask Raul about directly. We did put that thread up in the suggestions area, but have not confirmed if this is as easly done as said. It could be one of those things like putting animals into storage. It is something that can be done but takes a lot more coding etc, than most folks realize. As I said I will ask this directly of Raul and post the answer in the top post of the suggestions thread for new features for existing facilities.

I'm hoping this isn't so off topic it offends everyone but since it's related to the new update I'll take my chances..:) I got the update this morning for both of my accounts, both level 100 now :) but on both farms there are fields I can't view (just plain green screen in that area after refreshing many, many times) that I KNOW are ready to harvest. Because I can't view them it doesn't acknowledge that they are there and I can't hire out. Besides clearing my cache and updating my flash player that I've done twice is there anything else I can do?

On one farm, I can't see fields or some trees, on the other it's certain fields. If I go from one farm to visit the other it's opposite things I can't see! Does that make sense? HELP please anyone!!!!

ick... sounds like corrupt data to me, have you used the macromedia tool to delete the flash files stored by slashkey? http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html
Try that link, and delete the folder called cdn.slashkey.com using the applet on the webpage... i hope it helps

you should have cinnamon logs in your storage after chopping the trees down, having the factory or not makes no difference. if they aren't in your storage, then i have no idea why.

Once someone clicks the link to help with facilities, they can go from farm to farm and do all of the facilities on all of the farms :) and you only need to post for one facilty really, just add a little note saying you have them on more than one farm :) or post one facility from each farm, either way works

Rachezee, I don't know anything else than that they can help on all farms. If they are finished at one and go to another, they will get the message if they want to help automatically :)

I would love a farm 5, but feel also: it is a game. Some effort should be put into it. I used by accident the new addition to 'click less to produce more button'. To find out I used almost all of my tomatoes and flour by producing so much in the pizza, bakery and taco facility, that I need some days to get some stock back ;)
Some extra days work and fun, to see things grow and look forward to be able to produce again. That is what it is all about, isn't it?!

About the leveling... mmm I hoped it would have been a bit more. Not being on max level gives a little extra sport. But I have a feeling farm 5 is coming and at high price, so... Farm Town really, really sucks... It is impossible to do what needs be done in a short about of time. I spend more HOURS than I can even count 'watering' my (or other's) Flowers. I am constantly being "timed out' and have to started All Over Again.

Work your neighbors facilities. If they have the cinnamon facility you get a share just like all the rest.:eek:

I guess you better copy your message to the trouble section? I have had hardly problems and when I did they were solved in a few days. Sorry to hear about yours, but did you clean your cache, updated your flash player and all the normal advices given in the trouble shooting section?

This doesn't sound like a FT problem but a PC problem. Even so: go to the trouble section, and clean your cache. If the problem continues. Add your server number (you see it when you log in 'W..' and link your farm.
Please, if this is abracadabra for you: ask a moderator for more help ;)

Simple solution..Account settings..application settings..delete app.

Once someone clicks the link to help with facilities, they can go from farm to farm and do all of the facilities on all of the farms :) and you only need to post for one facilty really, just add a little note saying you have them on more than one farm :) or post one facility from each farm, either way works

That is what I do. "I say facilities are on farms 2 and 4, Ohio and Napa Valley" , I include the farm names in case my neighbors get confused which farms are 2 and 4 when looking at the diamond. :D

I am quite sure that I read that others were having problems with "disappearing" coffee from the grinder but I have searched the threads and cannot find it again. Has there been a solution?? I too am having a bit of trouble with disappearing ingredients/crops. Harvested 10 cranberry trees and when I went to put them in the juice factory it said I did not have any, and it does not appear in my storage either. Also I don't appear to be producing as much cow milk either or goat milk. Goats are easier to notice as I only have 6 but it says I only have 2 when I try to make the milk. Cows milk appears to be cut in half.
Otherwise most things work and the update is awesome- Love Love Love, the filter, and the ability to push 10 instead of one at a time in the facilities.

Just designate a jar or empty coffee can as a "piggy bank," toss a few coins in every day or so and you'll have a stash of coins to deposit and then use to buy FT Cash.

How is it discriminating? Just because you won't buy the FC doesn't mean that the game is discriminating against you! That is your choice and it is no different than every other game on FB. I played for ages without FC, and still enjoyed the game. I buy coins when I can afford it. I'm sure you'll get there one day. One good thing with these updates is that there weren't too many using FC.:)

I disagree, you don't have to buy the FC, you can earn it, yes i have purchased FC a couple of times, but .... I upgraded my 2nd farm on FC alone, that's over 120 FC and I did it all with FC i earned on the offers wall. You may not have the money to spend but if you farm then you have the time, get out there and earn it, it may take you awhile... eg months, but you can do it!

I would love to see more space, either by a farm expansion or by getting new farms. However, I would like to see them fairly expensive, let me tell you why. If they are cheap everyone has enough money to buy the expansion and then will be right back to the "we need more space." If the expansion (or new farm) is fairly expensive then it will take us some time to get to the expanded farm, thus giving us to strive for, not quickly get to then have time to complain. But never fear, we will complain at the top of our lungs anyway.


I tend to agree. And I would suggest NOT making each expansion available for FT$$. Use the coin only.

That way a player/farmer really has to work for it (duh, novel thought huh), and one cannot be a new player, or much lower level player, who simply buys his way into the success. IMHO that is NOT playing the game.... it is simply an each way using shortcuts.

On the other hand, if one does not want to work for the levels and expansions, and considers FT$$ the quick fix..... make it a lot more expensive.

If I have to pay 75 million in coin for a 4th farm.... one should expect to pay a lot more than $20FT for each of the last expansions..... maybe $25, then $50, then $100.

I think making the most out of your farm properties requires some rotation of the crops and occasionally you have to shift some facilities in and out of storage. Or at least it will be that way until Farm 5 becomes reality. (And oh, will we hear whining about clogged servers then!!!)

I am wondering how I will ever find time for 5 farms!!!? Four has me spending a lot of time on farming, which I love, but I am now leaving more fields fallow which is more relaxing!!!

I can partly agree with you.

However, for me, I have pretty much removed most of the aesthetic element from my farms, to keep up with everything. I would not mind having the 5th farm(and no, contrary to what some may say, that is not whining).

And, while a 5th farm would create an increased need for database space, and hence more hard drives, but I am not sure about clogging the networks. Since you can only work one farm at time, it is not going to be 25% increase load on the server and network.

Now, there will be a possible increase, as some of us would be working our farms for longer, so there would be some increase because of that.

And, not everyone enjoys playing games in the same way, for the same reasons, so some flexibility in the design, especially as more elements are being added(and especially for those that cost $, directly or indirectly) needs to be considered.

The few dollars you might spend are little enough to put a little something in the pockets of the people who work to provide us with such fun. If it really bugs you, then please go away - I (and I'm fairly certain, most everyone else!) don't want to listen to your incessant whining. Constructive suggestions about improving the game are welcomed, but PLEASE! if you're that bummed, go play somewhere else! Like maybe (dare I speak the evil name?) FarmVille! I gave up my space there a long time ago because FarmTown is about 1000 times the game and way more fun!!!!!!

LOL this time when the levels went up i got enough farm cash to finally get me the preserve facility and a friend does the offers also she actually gifted me the semi how cool is that... she didn't even have it herself but wanted me to have that... is that something or what?? she has me send her meat as gifts i felt so guilty when i found out she didn't have the semi.... since then she has it but wow ... and she became a friend in the market place i had hired her to work on my farm... we can all get what we crave for in this game eventually.... the way it is set up is quite fair....

Why are we cutting down bamboo trees? I didnt see them in the sawmill so what is the purpose or am I overlooking something?

To those who say we are whining about FC..well God Bless you..you must be working but many aren't. Why cut down trees and we can't afford to make something from them. I can't buy FC (limited income) items and I am at level 100 the newbies have better chance to get the better game play. I have played this game from day one and see the FC items much more than ever before.

Where does advertising money go? My friend company pays plenty to advertise here. If this is so great why has so many of my neighbors left..I would rather pay reasonable yearly fee to play a game and forget the FC.

no kidding with the super rewards... they insisted that i send them a conformation email for the app of the day, and i'm like, THERE IS NO EMAIL!!

I just sent them a screenshot of some software download..I may have to wait a day or 2..but its 5 free fc,added to the 4 fc i recieved 5 mins prior to that for something else.They can be a pain,no doubt,but free is free,and I don't mind jumpin through a hoop or two.;)

for most things, like if you have to goto external sites, ofcourse, they want proof... my gripe is with the app of the day, i mean, its part of facebook to begin with, and super rewards should be able to check that.. instead they keep asking me for an email, when they know full well there is no email with the app of the day, lol

otherwise, yes, its definately worth doing it all, i wouldn't have half the facilities if it wasn't for that... i do buy some with real money, but i've spent maybe $20 in a year.... way cheaper than most games cost

I dont like to really ask but I will anyway:D as I know that you are all very busy. I did write in for suggestions, about having a butoon to water our flowers all at once, as we are all so very busy now, will this be in the near future?

There was something else I suggested about have an old style english pub, then we could grow hops, and barley to sell. Just a thought.

Have found a way to play Farm Town and get all the current FC items without spending any FC. :confused:

Wal Mart has the Farm Town game on that includes every thing that is included in the July 1 update + additional levels up to 200. Gona run down later today and get it, only costs $200.00 Us. :eek:

You just made my point, though I'm sure you didn't mean to.... you've been playing this game since the beginning FOR FREE!!! There's just not a lot of things you can do that don't cost anything, so that's why I think whining about something you've done nothing to support is a bit ungrateful...

And if you're not working, then maybe you should be looking for a job instead of 'whining' about the leisure pastime you're spending so much time on... I'm just sayin.... :cool:

Hey there,

Read below the recent updates to FarmTown. This list includes the new levels, gifts, facilities and path we mentioned on Thursday. Things got a little tricky over here so we ended up launching the latest update about 30 hours late, we are sorry for those who waited long hours for it.

1. Axe tool to chop Pine, Oak, Bamboo and Cinnamon trees: Notice the Oak was previously a harvestable tree producing Accorns, this is not the case anymore. From now on, Oak trees are not harvestable, you can only chop them with the Axe to produce stuff later on in your facilities. Oak tree is now at level 44. Chopped logs are used by the Sawmill or the Cinnamon Factory.

The Mayor will re-plant all chopped trees overnight, to save you the burden of doing it yourself.

2. 10 New Levels: About 30+ new items, all in coins. This includes buildings, decorations and gifts.

3. Cobblestone Path: There are another 2 paths shown in the store, locked. They will probably be released early next week. There are many more paths and some new grounds to be released probably later next week.

4. Sawmill (coins): Allows you to produce Pine and Oak lumbers from Pine and Oak logs (timbers).

5. Cinnamon Factory (27FC): Allows you to produce Cinnamon Bundles from the Cinnamon Logs. Cinnamon Bundles are currently used in the Bakery to produce Cinnamon Buns and in the Coffee Shop to produce Cinnamon Latte.

6. Tea Factory (coins): Allows you to produce Black and Green Tea Bags from the Tea crop.

7. Coffee and Tea Shop (33FC): Allows you to produce different types of drinks from Coffee, Tea, Chocolate and Milk:

-Espresso
-Brewed Coffee
-Capuccino
-Cinnamon Late
-Hot Chocolate
-Mocha
-Iced Tea
-Green Tea

8. Start production of multiple batches at once on your facilities: There is a button '+ 10' right next to the 'Start production' button in all the facilities. That button will start the production of 10 (or sometimes, less) batches with one single click.

9. Product filters in storage and market windows: This will allow you to find faster the products you are looking for. Notice that the 'non-ingredients' filter will show you all the products that can not be used as ingredients in your facilities (except fuel).

10. Ground options on the Paths/Ground section in the Store: You can now select different ground types for your fam, this is a per-farm setting. More ground types comming soon.

11. New Tea Crop.

ummmm no, 1 harvest sells for 298 coins

the coffee is 1 harvest for a whole batch (8 units), which sells for 880 coins (8 units at 110 each)

I agree. They are NOT worth the headache. I never get the email either, I'm tired of sending in the complaint email as well. They easily owe me 20-30 points, if not more. Probably WAAAAAAAAY more, but I've given up hope. I'm tired of watching stupid videos (that Tom Hanks one was reallllllly dumb), downloading games, etc...only to not get points! argh, seems they'd rather have our cash. Well, not this person. Fixed income and all that, real life takes priority.

No, we don't add FC, we don't do reimbursements through the forum. They are correct about going to Super Rewards if they did a survey/offer.

I want to give a big thank you for coming up with new factories just when we seem to get bored, But i have one big suggestion, i know we have 4 farms to plant, BUT as the factories come up were running out of planting space. we need more crops more room for factories , we should be allowed two more farms and ones that can only be used for crops,no building or factories to be put on them
I wouldnt have a problem if we can layer our crops,
but i dont understand it and our friends that can or do do it, cant show us because you have to be not online to plant is this legal can you teach us how if it is then there will be no need for new farms, please can someone let me know thanks. get back to me at indigoeyes@shaw.ca

Since I started layering, I really don't need another farm. All the space I was using for trees and flowers is now being used much more effectively because I plant all three on the same plot of land. You can't move animals between farms in the buildings. To fix this put your building back in storage and move it to the original farm. Your animals will all be in it. Move them out of the building and into storage and move the animals to the next farm. Then move the building to the next farm and put your animals back in it. I know...it is a pain.

If you're putting trees n flowers on the fields, no, you don't have to be 'offline'
but the other type of layering, fields ontop of fields, you do have to be offline for. Both of which is a risk, as it can corrupt your farm data, proceed at your own risk.
