Hi Jeanne,
Farm Town is not currently planning to leave Facebook. If that happens at sometime in the future there will be complete instructions when and how to access Farm Town.

The current situation is Facebook deactivated Farm Town for reasons unknown to the developers yet. They are waiting for information from Facebook as to exactly what the reasons are for the deactivation.

Once farm town is back I suppose they could give us $50 Farm cash. $25 farmcash for the regular level update and $25 for sticking with it while facebook messes with things.

It is very complex to build an alternative website for the game as it is not the simple game we had in 2009. The game has grown through 12 years so it will require lot of programming for such complex game to allow us to play it in a new website.
That is not quick or easy, but the developers will let us all know about any news.

I am sorry, but if you were not playing at the time the deactivation happened and stayed with your game open, then there is no way to get back into the game. Those who already had their game open did not have to be off line to continue. As long as they keep their farms open on their computer then they can continue, but there isn't a way to get back into the game.

People are not only speculating but making unsubstantiated claims that run around the rumor mill as if they were fact.

By the way, did you know that Mr. T had T-cell lymphoma a while back? Ironic that it matched his name. Of course I did too, which is why I started playing years ago at this point. It was my own form (I almost typed farm) of physical therapy! :p

I agree however when the players don't get facts the rumors will fly.

Right now it is that security certificate is invalid. However I am on another game ( not on FB) and they didn't file the security certificate in time but the site did not go down.

The developers have let us know that they have had to go through the appeal process again and are currently still waiting for a response to the appeal.

Facebook have deactivated the game due to issues with their policies, however these are not security issues this time and are about app integration and experience.

The appeal process is the same process as the last time and until Facebook have had time to review the appeal and approve the changes the game will remain deactivated for the time being.

The developers will also try to update the Farm Town fan page later today.

It's like they are saying we can shut you down becasue they don't like the colors or fonts you're using, or just because they don't like farming games or just because they want to. this is exactly it, people are not understanding either by choice or because they don't know that to build a site that is workable for ft staff and players is NOT going to easy and it certainly won't be quick. Good possibility that if they do chose to go on their own in the end the game will change just because limitations and cost will be tricky. It's so dfferent than building a web page that can be done in a very short time, to start from teh ground up could take weeks or even months. **edited to remind people that it was posted earlier that building a new site was NOT going to happen**


For now find something else to do bake cookies, call a friend and go for coffee, volunteer in a soup kitchen, sit with a sick friend, find another game, walk the dog ...there are many options for everyone.

From experience of another game that has been removed by FB, it was called Garden Quest.. They went to a another site took them almost 2 years to make it.. FB.. DON'T like farming games...

I am not a coder but my husband is. One of the things I have heard him say - that some managers think that the more people who are working on a project the better. As if nine women could make a baby in one month. I guess the reality is that these things take time and more and more people will not help. I would hope that Slashkey would devote as many people as necessary to a new platform and the folks left would work on updates. I suppose some people should be devoted to keeping Facebook happy for as long as necessary!

I just bought for my husband 1 time, 250.00 plus a Farm Pass. David Kirkham, my self 2 times for 500.00, plus a Farm Pass also. I do NOT like how you get off without any explanations or whys. I would appreciate knowing why you got offline, and IF you are not going to get back on...I want the money I spent returned. For my hubby and myself. It isn't right that you get offline and never say why, keep all the money and just keep us wondering. I hate what you have done. You wouldn't like either.

I think that slashkey should know by now that facebook can not be trusted. I would also be ok with no updates for awhile or say fewer updates, so they could work on coming up with a new platform. Just turn on the current holiday stuff when it is time and I am good to go. I know it will be awhile for them to be able to move, but an update now and then as to there progress to there own site would be nice.

Wait, what? Are you saying that if we were logged in when FB pulled the rug, and didn't log out, we could still load and work our own farms?
I've encountered issues with squatting at the farm, mostly to do with the server not knowing what time it really is when I get back to the keyboard. But, if there are conditions under which I could at least stay connected, I might intentionally squat - if there are short term crops planted, or right around new Farm Pass time.

If you were in the process of buying the farm pass then you were not on your farms as you were in the purchasing part of the game, so when you tried to go back to your farms it could not load them. You had to have your farms themselves already open for them to not go down.

My game was actually running at the time, but had timed out and taken itself offline, giving the normal window to reconnect, but as soon as I clicked on it, the game disappeared and the 4oh4 window appeared. I have 2 pcs constantly running the game, but went off to breakfast and forgot to take them offline at the time. The second was running the wall, so that shut down as soon as the current facs run completed! I have been around this game as long as you have Taz, and probably know more ways around things than you do, so all I am trying to do is help, and maybe make useful suggestions to help everyone. I also know my way around programming, so please do me the courtesy of being respectful and forwarding on my suggestions, which is why this forum is here!:

I would be okay with $9.95 a month to play Farm Town. I've never spent a dime on the game, and I've been playing since 2009 (with a twelve year break because of Flash Player). I just don't want to feel like I am a punching bag for Facebook anymore, and before I plant, I want to know that I can get my crops harvested. I want to hang out at the Inn, hire new people and get hired in the market, build my farms up, learn more about what it takes to get along and help others, how to make my farms easier and more efficient for other farmers to visit and get coins, etc. I don't know what their reason was this time for shutting us down. Every time they do it, it makes me want to know why. I don't like speculating about why, so I want to get out from under them. How's it looking for that?

I have enjoyed playing this game since 2008 or 2009. Sadly, I believe these interruptions are going to be the norm going forward. Hopefully, the creators of Farm Town have been preparing for this and will be able to create a secure domain we can continue to play on. I am sure this is a monumental task. When Flash player was discontinued, it took the FT moderators months to change over to a new platform and they had a couple of years to prepare for it. I have purchased FarmCash over the years to support the creators of the game. However, I am reluctant to continue this because of FaceBook, META.

I dont think it will change anythig for facebook, the game will be back when they are satisfied with whatever change/fix they required, not a second before that.

But on the other hand, I know we all feel better doing something trying to help the game, so if you want to contact Facebook politely as you said think there is no problem :)

If you think about just the friends aspect of game. Friends is a Facebook feature. That in itself is probably not too easy to duplicate on a stand alone game server. The interconnectivity between players is probably one of the top hurdles to cross in order to play the game independent of Facebook.

For all the enjoyment this game has given all of us, a nominal monthly charge of, lets say $4.99 is well worth it, if those funds can give us the same sort of platform as we get from Facebook.

However it takes a lot of time for the developers to write the code to get us to that point.

The developers have let us know that they have had to go through the appeal process again and are currently still waiting for a response to the appeal.

Facebook have deactivated the game due to issues with their policies, however these are not security issues this time and are about app integration and experience.

The appeal process is the same process as the last time and until Facebook have had time to review the appeal and approve the changes the game will remain deactivated for the time being.

The developers will also try to update the Farm Town fan page later today.

We update the announcement at the top of each section, the current release thread and the Deactivation thread when we have news from the developers. They are working with Facebook on a few issues and will let us know any news. Until they do there is nothing more for us to report. We are all frustrated by this, but until we get an update from the developers we can't give you any additional information.

I just loaded your farms and went to your farm 9 and had no problem loading it. I have hidden all the show items on your farms. Reload your farms and then go to your farm 9. Turn individual show items on until it freezes again. That way you might find what is causing it to freeze.

Unless you have a lot of them stacked on that farm I am not sure how that could cause it. Try openbing your facility manager and store all of your products. You may have too many products finished in the facilities which also counts for total on a farm.

If your farm is open close it. Then reopen and try again.

This happens when you encounter an error on those farms. The game thinks your Web/GL is not functioning correctly so shows you this error.


Please make sure your browser and computer system are updated.

Not loading in Chrome or Edge makes me think your computer does not support WebGL 2.0. It sounds like it only supports version 1.0. Chrome and Edge have both dropped support for 1.0, so that would be why it will not load in thse browsers. You may have to switch to another browser that does support it and will allow it to drop you back down to version 1.0 in the game.

Do you remember if while you were playing the console showed WebGL reverted to 1.0 ?

Asking this as Chrome and Edge have both dropped support for 1.0, so that would be why the game doesnt load if you are using those browsers.
You may have to switch to another browser that does support it and will allow it to drop you back down to version 1.0 in the game.

I have moved your post to the thread about loading problems.
Loss of internet is not an issue with Farm Town. The servers are up and running just fine. If you are getting a loss of internet then the problem is somewhere between you and the servers. To get to the servers your data goes through many links to get to the Facebook app servers and then many more links to get to the Farm Town servers. Any one of those links can have problems either with dropping out or overloaded with traffic that can cause a loss of data or a slowdown of transfer.
Unfortunately Farm Town does not have any way to monitor any of those links nor do they own them so have no way to fix them when you have this problem.

This happens when you game encounters an error. There isn't anyway to make it go away forever. To clear this , you need to try first to close your browser and then reopen it. If that doesn't work you will need to restart your computer.

Not that we know of. As I said it happens when the game encounters an error, so it stops responding and the server thinks your computer no longer has WebGL. It can be any kind of error that happens so there is no way to track exactly when it will happen.

I'm not sure what you mean about facebook changed to a new gaming format page. During the last months I have had different formats for the game page and that didn't prevent me to load the game.

If you are using a saved bookmark in your browser, please do not use it. Instead load your facebook account and click in the game icon located in the left column of your facebook homepage.

If that is not your problem, then check if your browser is up to date and also if you have any pending update for Windows or Mac in case you use it.
After any update it is always better to restart your computer.

Also, you can try another updated browser in your computer to check if your game loads.

First please make sure your browser and computer are up to date with any updates. If you do have to do any updates be sure to restart your computer.
Not sure how long it has been since you played, but Farm Town has changed formats and now uses WebGl which is included in your browser. If you are getting the first screen you need to wait until the white bar fills in under the logo. Please do not use a bookmarked link as it will not be correct. Instead eithe use the short cut link in left column of your Facebook home page or the Play FarmTown button at the top of the forums. It can take a few minutes to load as it has to down load all the graphics for the game.
If it still doesn't work, Try all the suggestions in the first post on the fr=irst page of this thread.

What have you been doing on your farms or in other tabs in your browser?


It is not the servers. You may be having a slowdown from the internet in one or more links having heavy traffic. Could also be your browser slowing down if you have been doing a lot that could cause it to be doing a lot of transfer of data between your hard drive and memory. Or it could be your computer doing processes in the background that could slow everything down.


Please try shutting down your browser and restarting your computer to see if that helps.
If that doesn't help try the suggestions in the first post of the first page of this thread.

I moved your post to the thread about loading issues which it sounds like you have been blocked.
Specifically what does the message say and is it a pop up in the game or are you seeing it before the game loads?

The reason you would be barred from playing is either you are using an auto clicker at too fast a speed or you are clicking manually too fast which causes problems for the game. There is a thread you can read on this in the Common Problems area:

There isn't anything we can do to help. You will have to wait out the banning time stated.

I just tried the link and it worked correctly. I am not sure what CSP is. This could be your antivirus program is blocking those links or it could be your service provider is blocking those.

If that CSP is your anti-virus progam or a part of it then you will need to make sure the site L1.slashkey.com is in your exceptions list or remove the part of that program that is blocking those.

If it is your service provider blocking those you will need to talk to them about allowing that site to go through.
This is not something that Farm Town is doing or has contol over.

The update today is the release of 4 new facilities which you can find the information about in the first post of the current release thread.
As far as not being able to access Farm Town, make sure your browser and computer are updated. If you do have to do any updates be sure to restart your computer after doing those.
Beyond that please try all the suggestions in the first post of this thread as well as the ones that are linked in that post.
If as you say another from New Zealand also can't get in it could be an internet problem from there to Facebook's app server.

I have looked on the Face Book groups, and people in the UK and Australia also seem to be having an issue. My computer is up to date and I have cleared the cache etc and still nothing.

It could be an internet problem between you and the Facebook app server or between it and the Farm Town servers. If that is the case then you may just have to wait until the link that is down is fixed.

This sounds like a data transfer problem which would indicate an internet transfer issue. Unfortunately we cn't do anything about that as it is somewhere between you and the servers.
Did this error cause you to crash or stop you from playing without having to reload?

Game freezes after working on each task, I if I load ships it freezes I need to refresh to move aother task whether it's trains,,quests, NCC's etc. When loading facilities it freezes at 67% . I refresh again and it then computesit was loaded at 100%

I removed your email addresses for safety as it is not a good idea to post them in an open forum.

Please go to the first post, first page (http://r1.slashkey.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352666) of this thread and try all suggestions given there and also check the requirements for your computer, those are very important to let you play without problems.

It is also important to check your internet connection, if it is slow or by the time you load the game, there is much traffic or one of the multiple links you have to go through to get facebook and then the game, is down, then you could have more loading problems. Sadly, there is no way for us to check all those links.

Having so many loading problems then all the other features in the game are affected. For example, the facility work was improved and now it is faster so you should notice that.

I moved your post to the Help & Support thread about loading issues as this has nothing to do with the current release. You should be able to uninstall the Game Room from your computer since it is a separate app.
Also if you use the shortcut link on the left side of your Facebook home page to go into Farm Town that should load without going through Game Room.

Your individual internet speed only shows your internet is good up to your service provider. There are many links between you and the Facebook app server and more links between there and the Farm Town servers. Any one of those links being down or slowed down due to high traffic or problems can cause slow game operation for you or even prevent you from loading the game. We do not have any way to monitor or repair those links as they do not belong to Farm Town.

Your language settings for the game look fine.

Make sure you don't have any programs running in the background or a lot of other tabs open in your browser.
Make sure your computer is up to date as well as that can affect the game.
It could just be an internet problem somewhere between you and the servers that is causing a slow down of the data transfer or some data not getting through which would cause a freeze. Unfortunately we have no control over all those links in between the servers and you.

Your internet between you and your ISP may be fine, but there are many links between you and the Facebook app servers and many more between there and the Farm Town servers. Any one of those links could be having problems or an overload of traffic and you or we will never know because we have no way of monitoring those.

Nothing is the same since 2009. You have 44 farms now instead of 1, lots of facilities, trees, flowers, and layered. Additionally I am sure you have replaced your computer since then as well as Farm Town having to be completely rewritten to a new language.

Your local internet may be fine and running at top speed, but you have no way of knowing what is going on beyond that. It can be fine one minute and the next something has slowed down or stopped the data going through correctly. We have no way to know what it causing it nor can we fix it as it is different for everyone.

All I can tell you is you are the only one reporting this and we are not having any problem with the game. The servers are responding correctly. The only thing you can do is wait it out until whoever is having the problem causing you to freeze can correct it and get the data flowing properly again. There is nothing we can do for this.

I've been having problems loading the game, most attempts stopped at U60 and then attempt 12 3 etc but every now and again the game did load but as soon as I attempted to do anything it froze. For the first 2 days I could not reach the forum page, I cleared cashe, browser history and if anything it got worse!! For he past 24 hours I can now load the game every time and do things as normal but there are a load of errors as it loads

I've been having problems loading the game, most attempts stopped at U60 and then attempt 12 3 etc but every now and again the game did load but as soon as I attempted to do anything it froze. For the first 2 days I could not reach the forum page, I cleared cashe, browser history and if anything it got worse!! For he past 24 hours I can now load the game every time and do things as normal but there are a load of errors as it loads

Hi Grumpdad,
Please make sure your browser and computer are updated. If you do any updates please restart your computer to make sure the updates are applied. Chrome has done recent updates that we know of and microsoft does almost weekly updates.


If those don't work try all the suggestions in the first post of this thread including the ones in the links there.

I moved your post to the thread about game loading.
That just means that something is loading in your game and it is busy , so you can not do the function at that moment that you are trying to do. The only thing I can suggest is to wait a couple minutes and try again.
