Game Migration Updates: Latest update released on May 2nd, 3:50PM

We are happy to announce that with this update we have completed the migration of the game to the Unity/HTML5 platform, only a few bugs pending to be fixed in future releases.

In the coming months we will start focusing on adding new features and other improvements to the game.

In this update we released new content like farm expansions, facilities and 2 new Turbo facilities and also migrated old features to the new version of the game.

The section below shows the details on the new content released:

1. 8 St. Patrick decorations (released a week ago).

2. Next 54 x 54 farm expansions for Farms 16 through 30: They cost 50 FarmCash or 70000000000 Coins.

3. Turbo Oil Refinery (FC): This is a new facility that produces 3 times More Crude Oil Derivatives than the current Oil Refinery.

4. Turbo Rubber Factory (FC): This is a new facility that produces 3 times More Rubber Sheets than the current Rubber Factory.

5. Other Improvements:

a) Added a dropdown to the 'Show Names' -> 'Show Work Info' screen with time frame intervals so you can see exactly how many of each plant will be ready or gone to waste within that time period

b) When removing farmers from your neighbours and buddies there is a new checkbox in the popup to allow you to remove yourself from that farmer neighbours or buddies list

c) Bugfix: When viewing a Trading Warehouse the current selected section switches unexpectedly to the other section if another farmer trades you a product

d) Bugfix: Real names not showing in your offline message list screen

6. New Arugula Crop: Used in the new Artisan Pizza Shop.

7. Artisan Pizza Shop (FC): Produces Artisan Pizza.

- Bugfix: Some users were experiencing errors when deleting Factory Facility Chains
- Bugfix: Wasted crops not being considered when showing available plowing jobs in the Show Work Info screen or when hiring other farmers to plow

Surely it has been days now and the hours are ticking down there needs to be an update from those who know what is happening.

It has been said Previously that facilities will no longer function but does that include the fertilizer truck? The gas station needs oil ( the oil pump recently got changed from tools to a facility) so that means no fuel? People are asking these questions and they need to know from Raul what is going on as Browsers are locking them out of the game by the day.

There should be an update with what works and what doesn't before they release. They are working still on this to get as much done as they can, so it is constantly changing as they work.

I've followed this thread daily....multiple times daily and have tried to not say so very much because I'm aware that there are people behind the scenes working their butts off however, it IS coming up on NY Eve and I believe the players....even the patient ones, are getting a bit on edge. We're not counting days or weeks any more. We are counting hours. A small tidbit of info would calm us all down........well, most of us I think. ;)

As I do not have new facilities for the NCC after I got my prizes, I am assuming that it is because of the migration but I cannot find anything advising us that it has finished for the time being. Is it possible to find out is my assumption is correct please.

Hi...Im not going to read through 100's of posts...but I will say....southern hemishpere ...5 hours to go before flash goes...meanwhile...back on the farm in the northern hemisphere still have a day to go...would be nice to know if I wake up in the morning will I even have a farmtown left to go to ...there is a time zone outside of the good old USA.

I have to agree with you. I've been around quite a few forums and they are all the same. You got the ones that are NEVER satisfied and complain ALL THE TIME.........lol......I could never be a moderator. As Raul said, facilities will not be available for a time, so if you want to empty them it is ok. All products stored will not be missing after the migration and you will find them in your storage as usual.

There were ways to let you play in Chrome that are here in the forums, so they could have been still playing for this month. What Chrome did was disable the Farm Town Flash Enabler plugin, so you had to manually tell Chome to enable Flash each session.

Well I saw a few days ago that factories will be down, and now would be a good time to stock up on supplies since we will be able to plant, harvest, do trees and flowers and also fish. So I started loading my factories as many times a day as I could and selling the products from the service facilities so I could build up money to buy seeds with. As far as we know Adobe has communicated that Flash will be disabled on January 12, so if you didnt delete flash we think you will be able to continue playing till the migration is done.

The December 23, 2020 Migration announcement says "We already completed all the features that will be released in the restricted version of the game before the end of the year," .. In Australia the day and date is Friday 1/1/2021, but the HTML5 version of the game has not been released yet.

Right now I have six months worth of crops to run my facilities. Now we won't have facilities to stock so what am I supposed to plant? :confused: Oh well, this too will pass.....

The NCC has been suspended because facilities will not be available for a little while after the release of the new version. Anything using facilities will not be working to start with.

Amen to that, these 11 yrs have gone like a flash, and we still enjoy the game, I remember when the thing that we could plant that would let us advance was pineapples, when you had somebody asking you to work on their farms and it was pineapples it was like a prize, now we have umpteen seeds, trees, rivers, trains, ships, planes, and it all thanks to the Devs and their crazy imagination, thank you guys, you deserve a whole row of medals for your patience and good will towards us that sometimes can be obnoxious and criticizers, keep up the good work and that goes for the Mods also, thank you for all you do to keep this stupendous game going and for dealing with us.. That is because of the normal new year glitch. Your quests are still there in Flash version. Just the numbers are gone.

That is correct. Those things will be added as they work on it over the next few weeks. In the mean time currently you still have the Flash version for those at least until Flash is removed by the browsers.

You don't until the neighbor bar is added back in. Understand this is a restricted version. If you don't see something then it has not been included yet.
They have allowed you to still use the Flash version as long as the browsers don't block Flash yet, so you can use that to be able to do things that are not available in the unity version yet. Over the next several weeks the developers will be working on adding in the missing functions.

None of those functions are working yet. Those will be added along with the other functions over the next several weeks.

Mine was fairly normal sized. The writing is slightly smaller, but I am sure it is something that I could get used to in time.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the option to play in HTML this morning. :-) I liked it. Everything loads so quickly, and the graphics do look much better. I will still play in Flash for now, especially to load up on fuel since the facilities wont work in HTML for a biit. But, overall, I think it is going to be ok and I am pleasantly surprised.

This is HTML5 release 1. Everyone knew it would be limited as first. What is does prove is the new version isn't vaporware. :)

I'm liking the new version, too! Definitely faster. It's nice that we have the Flash version for a while longer. Right now, I'm going back and forth between the two. That way, I have access to all the old tools but I can get used to the new format, too. It's a nice way to transition and it gives the developers time to keep chipping away at adding in features.

I'm just thrilled they're doing it - keeping the game alive for us. I use Farmtown as I'm trying to shake my brain awake in the mornings. I've had a running joke for years now where I say, "Sorry! Can't do that now! Have to go milk my cows!"

Yes it should get better as they are still working on it. The more things you have layered on your farms though the slower it will be.
The lettering is small and the developers are looking at that to change it to make it more readable. There isn't anything you can do to change that.

So far this sucks especially with so many features disabled. How do you expect us to want to play this game if you have the Facility Manager and Facility Chains Manager disabled. When will these be activated?

If you read all the information in the first post on page one, then you would see that moving the game to the new platform has been problematic and those problems were not quick to resolve. They also stated that the new version would be a restricted version some months ago.

The developers will add them back as they have time to do them and will likely announce what they have added in the new release threads as they get them done. We can not give you any specific times or dates. All you can do is either see what's currently there each day or keep an eye on the News and Announcements threads and check the 1st post for any updates from the developers.

The only way you can do that is to use the Flash version while it is available.

Try setting your language in the Flash version and see if it will stay in the HTML version. The language setting will not be really used until we get the neighbors and markets added into this version.

In the first post of this thread, it explains that the HTML version is a restricted version and is limited to all farming tools for crops, trees, flowers and fishing, the free style designers, the Store and the Storage screens, all other functionality will be hidden and enabled gradually in the coming weeks. Which means we don't have the neighbors or the shortcut icons as yet.

If Adobe does what it says, we'll be unable to use the Flash version beginning tomorrow. So sad! I'm currently first in this week's NCC and even though I will have enough coop quests for 2 FC before then, I don't think my timer runs out until late tomorrow night sometimes, so that one is dicey, too.

Oh well. Eager to see how much the developers may have accomplished by tomorrow - thinking they'll release a newer HTML version if they have it so maybe it will have a BIT more than it has not. But I get it if they don't have a newer version yet. I'm not grumpy about any of this - just sad.

You will see in red that the test is only for users who cant load the farm in the new version.

If your game is not loading in flash, then probably your browser blocked flash and you can only play using html5 version.

The red circle is there for the trains and ships as it was in the Flash version, but with ships and trains not working in the HTML yet so doesn't mean anything right now. You can still click on the toolbox to open it.


If the Facebook sidebar is covering it try setting page zoom to 100% to correct that.

Yep. Mine's gone now, too. Rats. I was hoping there would be a way around it! There's going to be a lot to relearn. I just went to the new one - decided I may as well plant - and then remembered that, since I don't have the - what's it called? That purple irrigation tool? That I'm now going to have to be careful that I can be around to harvest things when they're ready. I had forgotten all about needing to do that!

Oh well - it is TONS faster for me. This will be a true delight when it's all finished. Miss the old - but so glad we have the new.

he new HTML version is missing some features which will be added back over the next few weeks. Ships, trains etc. You can still sell things by clicking the storage icon and then click the blue button to 'Sell at Market' Tho you wont actually go to the market, it does open the market selling screen as if you were there.

Think I may have just found an issue as to why some farms are freezing up ?
Been going through the farms just fine, but just ticked the "Facilities" option in the "Spanner" tools (top right) then went to load my farm 1 which I know is loaded in facilities and it has taken 3 attemps (game reloads) to get that farm to open.

So am thinking those having trouble loading are loading in to a facility farm with option to show them ?

I can't open Flash this morning but I know it was to come to that. My issue is that when I go to my superneighbor's farms, it doesn't tell me when things are ready like fish. Also I usually use his tools but none of his or mine are showing up. My tool box is all grey except for the watering can and his tool box doesn't show up at all. Plus none of his farms give an indication of when they are ready.

Second issue is that the message box is not available.

I have moved your post to the thread about the new version of the game. Adobe has disabled flash so you can't use that version, everyone has to use the new one and is in the exact same position regarding Quests.
Please go to the first post on page one and read the information there for you and will be updated as features get added back to the game. That information is also available by clicking on the link in the message above your game screen.

I'm sorry to sound so harsh but this is unacceptable. You guys have had probably close to a year to get this together and it's useless. You have to individually harvest your animals. You cannot cash in, start or anything else on your facilities. Can't collect gifts. You can see that I, along with a good majority of your customers, have spent a lot of money playing this game. It is already time-consuming, which as a retired person has but not this much to wear I have to go to each farm and harvest animals. I hope you get your stuff together before I flush all the money I've spent and some still sitting int here down the toilet. I've never had so much enjoyment from a game before; I'm a strategist and that's probably the main reason I love this but there are limits. I hope this is resolved soon; I don't like Farmville just farmtown. I'm sure you guys were prepared for this part anyway. Get it together for pete's sake.

Well, this is not what I expected from the revised HTML5/WebGL edition of Farm Town. NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!! Alright, I can sow, plough and harvest, but NONE of the facility's work, more especially the Facility Manager is disabled. I don't need to go on as I'm sure you're only too aware of your failings.
I have several thousand UK pounds invested in this game and expect it to work. If this is not all fixed soon, I will be looking to recover my investment. Time to change gear Farm Town, get this sorted and quickly or all your devoted players of many years will be moving on.

Your purple freestyle farm designer is on one of your farms. You will need to show tools in tour preferences and find which farm it is on to be able to add it to your item storage so that it will show up in your toolbox.

When first arriving at a farm we used to have a tool automatically load if there was work to do. Now we must go to the Tool Box to select a needed tool.

You're already in the new version so there's no need for a link to it, you didn't have to do anything new. This version is restricted to doing your own farm work and designing at this time. There is more information for you in the first post on page one, please have a read of that so you are all caught up with the current version of the game.

I just harvested some of my own farms. It did take fuel, and when I went back to one I just harvested, the field was still planted. No points for this, either. Please post what we can be doing on our own farms to continue building points and dollars until some features return.

Pc (desktop) worked ok, after selling an item i had to move the mouse away from the next item then back again in order for the blue buttons to show up. A bit of visual lag when fishing, the nets multiplied in my view, but i think the actual fishing went quickly.

and read the information there before you post your question. That post is updated as we get features back to the new version.

For the time being you can do your own farm work and some designing.

There is no Market, you will be able to sell what's in your storage by clicking on the Go to Market to Sell button on something that is in your storage.

Everyone is in the same position regurding Quests. Currently you will not be able to continue with them and we can not tell you at this time when they and the facilities you need for them will be back.

Please try to be patient there are a lot of questions being asked and it will take time for us to be able to answer them.

Hi wer4ksu,

Your fuel should correct back to the original amount once you're done. It's just the display showing it being used, it won't be using any. Try making a note, do a small amount then stop and you should see it correct.

If you haven't read the 1st post on page one yet, it'll give you an idea what's been happening and that post will be updated as the other features get added back.

Edit to Add:

I've moved your other post into this the thread about the game migration as the other one is mainly for those that can't load the new version to report the information the devs need from them.

P.S. I see where the Fuel consumption is in a loop so, no, it is not actually being redued (used up). :) Thank you for that!

Things seems to be working well. My only glitch is my 4x4 transplanter is not showing up in my tools as being active and when I place my pointer over my manure spreader, I do not get the data on how much more time I have before I have to fertilize again. All my other tools appear to be OK. Thanks for your work.

I'm sorry but quests are not available in the new version yet. This happens due we dont have facilities working in HTML5 yet so we cant do quests.

I checked the selling from storage in the new version. The items being include in the "non ingredients (for me)" is currently incorrect. It is actually including items that are used in my facilities to manufacture other items. Luckily I noticed this mistake before I sold items that I will need once the facilities are working again.

Zaftiggy, the manure spreader is working. Click in your manure spreader, then click on the farm to get the window with your farm names. If they are greyed then your farms are already fertilized.
